Set-PhysicalDisk failing with error: A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'MediaType'.

Hi,
I run the following command:
PS C:\Users\Administrator> Set-PhysicalDisk -FriendlyName PhysicalDisk0 -MediaType SSD
Set-PhysicalDisk : A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'MediaType'.
At line:1 char:46
+ Set-PhysicalDisk -FriendlyName PhysicalDisk0 -MediaType SSD
+ ~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (:) [Set-PhysicalDisk], ParameterBindingException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : NamedParameterNotFound,Set-PhysicalDisk
PS C:\Users\Administrator>
As you can see, it errors out, as if MediaType doesn't exist.  Has something changed in this command?

Hi,
As you said, it seems like MediaType is not supported as a parameter.
What's the OS version? It should be available in Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1 or PowerShell 4.0 installed.
In my Windows Server 2012 R2 it is supported.
Please provide the result of $PSVersionTable for comparing. Here is my version:
Name                           Value
PSVersion                      4.0
WSManStackVersion              3.0
SerializationVersion           1.1.0.1
CLRVersion                     4.0.30319.34014
BuildVersion                   6.3.9600.17400

  • SQL Backup fails with error 87 parameter incorrect

I have a SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Standard instance working great, except upon attempts to use SQL backup to a UNC path hosted on Server 2012 R2, backup jobs fail with error 87 (the parameter is incorrect). When backing up to Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012
shares, everything seems to work normally.
Any experience with something like this? I've verified perms to the path and reachability in general, and it's clearly not an access denied error (which I've seen before).

Thanks Alberto - I've verified that user (it's a domain user) has full access perms on that path, and tested outside of SSMS.

  • Importing CD's to iTunes fail with "The required folder cannot be found"

I have my iTunes library on an external drive.  Everything works fine, except that I cannot import CD's into iTunes.  When I try, I get the error "The required folder cannot be found".  My work around currently is to:
    1. Upfdate my preference for "iTunes Media Folder Location" to the standard location by clicking on the "Reset" button.
    2. Import the CD
    3. Copy the folder that it created with the songs to the correct location on the external disk
    4. Update the preference or Folder Location back to my external library location
    5. Double click on the first song where I get the message that it cannot be located
    6. Locate it manually, and iTunes then searches for the others and fix the location.
This is extremely frustrating and impractical.  I am on the very latest release and it is still happening.  Does anyone know how to get around it?

I have the same problem as pyzaptys' with the exception that there is no My Music folder in the default location. I created one but the iTunes install cannot see it. I used the tweakui as suggested in the response to the original post but the app does not see the My Music folder in the special folders selections.
I have tried many angles but to no avail.
    To pyzaptys: try these out:

From the error message, this issue seem to related with SSL/TLS connection. So I go back to check configuration and find out a difference to tutorial. Current SCP url is https://server1/_wmcs/certification, but in tutorial it is https://server1:433/_wmcs/certification.
On my opinion, I don't think it is the real reason.
So, how can I resolve this error? Could you give me some suggestion? Thanks in advance.

We have a policy that distributes proxy settings in the internet explorer maintenance settings section - however when opening this policy up in GPO editor the internet explorer maintenance section is not present.
I plan to apply the settings via User/preferences/control panel settings/ internet settings (or registry settings from article) however I am unable to edit the settings for internet explorer maintenance and these will persist. Ideas????

  • Cannot start VM - IDE Emulator Failed to Power on with Error 'The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.'

    HI all.
New install of 2008R2 on HP DL-380 G6.  I have created (several) VM's none of which will start.  If I remove the IDE Hard Disk and add a DVD of the OS ISO, it will boot and start the install (although with no HDD).
It seems like the IDE controller is working ok - it is what the DVD drive is using, but it cannot mount a VHD.  The error indicates a driver is not working (although the DVD on IDE works fine) so something to do with VHD?  I can attach the VHD
in disk management, so it does not seem corrupt - again I have tried with both dynamic and fixed VHDs.
    Full error is:
'Test1' failed to start. (Virtual machine ID 4320D2D6-DF7E-40D2-BD0F-9562CBB9F052)

    Any Ideas?

  • Flash CS6 AIR error: CreateWinProcess failed with error 2. The system cannot find the file specified

I created an AIR application in Adobe Flash CS6, but when I test, debug or publish it, an error always occured.
CreateWinProcess failed with error 2. The system cannot find the file specified.
When I clicked OK, Flash suddenly stops responding, so I need to end the process using Task Manager.
I created a blank FLA document and tested and published it, everything's fine there. It was exported properly. But when I do it with the AIR app, Flash can't even start exporting the SWF of the AIP app, and instead gave me the error.
I speculate that there is something wrong with the Java command line stuff Flash is doing behind the curtain. I tried using ADL myself and get the AIR app working fine.
I also found out that Flash has its own JRE installed, so I don't have to bother the JRE used by my computer.
Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance. Have a nice day!

I installed  the update, but I'm sorry to say that it did not solve the problem
The error is still there as described by Master §ix and Daniel777
CreateWinProcess failed with error 2. The system cannot find the file specified.
It happens when trying to test, debug, or publish air applications (AIR 2.5 – AIR 3.4 , desktop, android, iOS)
In this case, I can't use the simulator to test the applications,
    thanks

Do I need to install latest opatch utility?

    Hi,
this error message "  LsInventorySession failed: LsInventory cannot create the log directory **ORACLE_HOME***\cfgtoollogs\opatch\lsinv\lsinventory2015-04-
    09_16-27-49PM.txt "
indicates that you have permission issue with your file systems : ORACLE_HOME/cfgtoollogs/opatch
double check the owner of this file system.

  • Flash CS 6 error: CreateWinProcess failed with error 2 - The system cannot find the file specified

    Hi,
I'm getting the error "CreateWinProcess failed with error 2 - The system cannot find the file specified" whenever I try to test an Air app within the Flash IDE.
This error even comes up with a new and empty project .fla file. I already updated the Air runtime and Flash to the latest version.
How to fix this problem? Any ideas welcome!
    Thank you.

  • I cannot install Acrobat 10 along with CS 6 - Install MSI payload failed with error: 1635

I tried to install CS6 (CS4 already on the computer) but installing Acrobat 10 failed with the message "Install MSI payload failed with error: 1635". When I tried to install Acrobat separately from the payload folder, the installer offered to uninstall Acrobat 9 first but refused to accept the serial number for the CS 6 suite. Should I uninstall Acrobat 9 first separately? And if so, where do I get a correct serial number for the Acrobat 10???

    is cs6 installed?
if not, run the cleaner:  http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    and then try installing cs6.
