Set requerd field of a form

I am using a online GTD tool and I like to set some fields required so I can not forget them
Does any one know if there is a add-on that can set fields required of a form?

You could create a GreaseMonkey or Scriptish script to add the required attribute to specific input fields if they have a name or id.

How to set date field in custom form to default to {NOW} plus one year.

I am developing a subscription site. I have the custom form for inputing a users information. I have the subscribe date set up as a default field of {NOW} that works great.
Now I need the renewal field to default to exactly one year from the subscribe date.
Any help would definitely be appreciated.

How to set hidden field value in form?

I've encountered a problem while developing a forum using JSF. See this code:

I was trying to specify a hidden field that represents the unique ID number of the current article using <h:input_hidden> tag above. But RI complains that runtime expression is not permitted in 'value' attribute. So I set the attribute 'value' to arbitrary number such as '2', but it seems that CommentBean.pageId is still null.
So the question is:
1. Why can't I use EL in JSF tags attributes?
2. How can I resolve my problem mentioned above?

To solve the problem, you have to use two hiddenfields, say:
<h:input_hidden id="pageId"valueRef="CommentBean.pageId" />
<h:input_hidden id="articleId" valueRef="article.id"/>
I want to set the value of CommentBean.pageId to
${article.id} (article is not a managed bean) and to
let CommentBean.createAction insert a database row
whose page_id column is ${article.id}, so I think the
tags you suggested won't work for me.Why can't you interrogate your ComponentBean for its pageId property during your invoke() method? By the time your invoke() method is called, the value from the hidden field will have been pushed to the model, so this should be no problem. You could do Application.getValueBinding("ComponentBean.pageId").getValue() to do so.

Setting Image field in adobe form

Hello Gurus,
I have a question setting the image field dynamically.
I have created a following context structure for
DataSource(ValueNode Cardinality (1..1))->imagenode(Valuenode Cardinalty(0..n))->image(Value attribute))
I have binded the Datasource node to the Datasource of the interactive form.
I have dynmaically created the imagenode and set the value for the image.

Now I want to set this node to the image field in adobe.
In URL of the image field I have enterted $record.imagenode[*].image and its not working where as the same thing works for text field.
Please let me know if any one has any idea on this.

Copy the images to src -> mimes - > Components of your development component / project.
To the value node set the url like the following way ...

Set Date field value through Form datasource

Hello all,
Has anyone set the value of a field of type Date through the form's datasource?
    If (Not Entrega = Nothing And NrDias > 0) Then
        Entrega = Entrega.AddDays(NrDias)
        ds.SetValue("U_data", ds.Offset, Entrega)
    End If

If I change the field to a text field it write to the datasource and display no problem.
Any ideias?

I hope I can explain this right. I have a form with several digital signatures, so I am passing the forms around using document variables. This is also outside of form manager, I email the form out to users who fill it out and email it back in. I use the Email Attachments and Email Receiver QPACs for this so that it can touch back on the work flow. So, after user1 fills out the form and then emails it back in, I need to set a field in the form before I email the form back out to the next person. So, since my form is within a document variable, what is the best way to go about doing this so that I can continue perserving the digital signatures? The field I am setting keeps track of which part the form is currently on so that I can mark subforms as readonly.

I have a RTF whch is having a field in that i need to add some validation condition but after adding certain condition in Add help text tab ,it is not accepting after certain length, how i can increase the length to unlimited,please help me on this

Form fields have some restrictions if your are using version lower than 11g.
They can accommodate only 393 chars. You can add the text in both status bar and help key, which can in total consume 393 chars.
If your code logic is more than that, it can be split into multiple form fields as Avinash suggested or you can use sub template logic and handle coding over there. Again in sub template code can be within/outside form fields.
So there is no option for user to increase the size of form field.

Tabular form - how to set a field to a constant?

I'm using a tabular form to update a table - and this works. Then I remembered that I need to also update the field that keeps track of who made the change.
Setting this field via the SELECT (e.g. Select 'userX' as editor from ...) for the tabular form fails due to a db concurrency error (MRU 20001) upon submission.
Attempting to override the current value in [Column Attributes] of the field in the [Elements Attibute] setting - [value="userX"] simply adds this as the second value argument of the input element (of the html source).
Suggestions?

Similiar scenario - I have a flag in this table set false that a user can set true when they feel they have satisfactorily reviewed the record.
Since it's in a tabular form it can be changed along w/ other records, but they may not feel the review is complete (so they effectively want the flag to remain false).
I'd like to be able to read records in but set/default the value to reviewed (as a convenience) but due to the problems noted above, this doesn't seem possible.

Using MS Access Web App, can you set the tab order of the fields on a form? Doesn't appear to be a property. I don't see a programmatic method. I saw someone suggest using goto control on the after update event trigger but what if the person
doesn't edit the field? No event would be fired.

I am afraid you could not. In Web applications, the tab order is set automatically and cannot be changed.

The goto method is a workaround, but it should be triggered by a specific event. What I can figure out is changing the order of the fields.

Access 2013: Sum fields on a form suddenly showing up blank

I have a simple Access database (originally built in 2010, now running 2013). Sometime in the last week or so all of the SUM fields in the database started showing up BLANK (one minute everything was working fine, the next it wasn't, not sure what happened
in between). Even when I create a new, basic form, I can't seem to get my SUM fields working.
For example, I have a table where I document number of miles traveled for work purposes, the fields include: TravelDate, ProjectID, Mileage, and Description. Mileage is a Number field, Long Integer. If I create a continuous form, connect it to the table
(same thing happens if I connect to a query), add a field in the Detail section with
Mileage as control source and txtMileage as name and a field in the FORM FOOTER that is: =Sum([txtMileage])...the SUM field is empty in
Form View. And, there are no NULL values in the data set. This is happening across all of my forms and subforms, all SUM fields are now displaying as blank.
Is it possible that I changed a global Access setting to cause this? A form setting? Any other ideas?

I had the same sudden issue. But I was able to determine that it involved only one workstation. All the others were fine, as well as a test run on another Win 8 station outside the environment. From there I was able to determine that a third party
app had been installed near the time of the problem showing up. I uninstalled it and it immediately was resolved. The app was a C# based tool thought the authors have yet to identify why this caused a problem. My suspicion is that they wrote a 32 bit version
and this was installed on a 64 bit station, and there is some issue with mso.dll, where I believe the function calls exist for sum. I am testing to see if there are similar function errors in Excel.
What is noticeable was that Access did not throw a an Error# nor a #name. Just nothing appeared, and when you click on a row, the sum would appear, though it was incorrect.
In Access 2010 I remember there were some footer field issues in continuous which eventually were patched.
It was an opportunity to remind my client - do not install anything from any one on the live system without prior testing.

Enable/disable fields in Workspace form

Okay here is my scenario. I need to disable some fields on a form depending on which user logs onto workspace to open the same form.
1. User1 logs onto workspace and opens leave request form, fields at the top of the form are enabled for the user to fill out, bottom fields which are for leave request administrator to fill out are disabled but visible.
2. User1 fills out top portion of leave request form and completes form. Workflow sends form to leave request administrators "To do" list in Workspace.
3. Administrator opens up submitted form in Workspace and sees User1's filled out data on the form and the bottom fields are now enabled for administrator to approve or dissaprove. Bottom fields only include two check boxes, two text fields and one date field.
Now how is this done? I am sure their maybe scripting involved? if so what is it and at what events in the form? Is this whole process done in the form or through Admin UI or Workebench as well? Please help!!!!!!!!!

You can use the same form and enable/disable some fields according to the user's role with only little scripting. Review the steps the below:
1-First place a hidden field ("user_role") in your form
2-Insert a script object into your form onder "Variables" in object hierarchy and write a script for enabling/disabling the fields (regarding the value of "user_role")
3-On the initialize and change events of the "user_role" call your script object
4-On your process design, put a SetValue service before User tasks. In the asssignment you should set the desired user_role to the form, so that the script is triggered in your form and the fields are enabled/desiabled

Change the value of a field in a form when the form is displayed

I have a report which has a link to a form for updating the records. I have used a link to the form from report which displays the the record to be updated i.e it gets default values from the report. I need to change one of these values at the time of displaying the form. The set_value in the 'before displaying the page' section doesn't change the vaue displayed in the form. I tried in other 'Advanced pl/sql' sections provided but didn't succeed.

I have a requirement as follows,
My page contains 1. Add Button
2. Five fields.(one input text and four select one choice)
The fields are like one input text and remaining select one choice. And also these fields contains validations.
Actions
On click of add button , I have to show the fields , similarly I have to add one more set of fields in the page below the first set when I click the add button, Like this I will add as many as I need.
How to achieve this requirement,
1. Do I need to generate the view objects dynamically from managed bean ?
2. Do I need to create a custom component ?
For Time being , I have added 3 set of fields pages and showing one by one. I want to do this dynamically.
Please let me know the suggestion for this Requirement.

to do this:
1. reate a managed bean that exposes a HashMap property. The HashMap is of type e.g. Map<Person>
2. To create a new set of fields, add a new entry to the HashMap and refresh the af:form. The af:form contains and af:forEach that you use
to iterate as often as you have entries in the HashMap. Each text field you bind to #{bean.HashMapProperty['key'].attribute}, for example
#{bean.HashMapProperty['key'].FirstName}
#{bean.HashMapProperty['key'].LastName}
#{bean.HashMapProperty['key'].EmployeeId}
3. When the user updates a field, the HashMap is updated based on the "key"
4. The managed bean should be in viewScope and referenced from the field's value property

How to show a time field in a form portlet

Hi,
I am not familiar with PL/SQL and I was wondering how I could show a time field on a form portlet.
I have a date column in my database that stores the time and date together, but I do not know how to separate them into date and time fields. I also do not know how to concatenate them when a user inserts a new record, or how to query on a date alone.
At present, the user has to type the date and time following this format mask hh:mi am DD/Mon/RR
I also have a problem with one of my hidden id fields. I have set the default to a sequence.nextval (#qtc_app.seq_visitor.nextval) and then hidden it since
it is irrelevant to my users. However, I can no longer use the query function since the sequence is always generating a new value. How would I only generate
a new sequence no. when a user inserts a record??

Hi,
Each colunm in the form has a format mask associated with it. For the date column make the format mask like this DD-MON-RR HH.MI. This will show the date along with the hours and minutes.

CRSE is an OEM Product and for use with a custom application they have written. Unfortunately we don't their reports or how they are connecting, it would appear they were originally built off a SQL and then set to a Dataset in the app or they could be adding the data source at runtime. Lots of variations and without access to the source code to see what they are doing not much we can help you with.
You need to contact the OEM Partner for help in resolving this and find out what you can and need to do to update your SP and work with their canned reports,
