Set role with Java JPA using NativeSQL

Hi,
using 10g setting roles with Java JPA and NativeSQL works fine. After the upgrade to 11g the same commands will not work.
Ars ther any significant changes to set roles in 11g?
Regards
Siegwin

Hi Siegwin,
if you want to get help on a specific issue it would be helpful if you provide specific information. Despite the fact that this doesn't seem to be an XE specific question, you could provide additional information on your environment (JDK version, possibly container used, etc.; actual command issued, other things you may have done before to open/modify the session, etc.).
I have one general hint anyway:
Did you update your database drivers to support 11.2 as well? You probably use JDBC for your data source, so you should try the 11.2 JDBC drivers that fit to the JDK your application uses. I'm not sure if this already solves your problem, but it's highly recommended anyway as the 10.2 drivers will definetly come back with some trouble sooner or later when used against 11.2.

    Ars ther any significant changes to set roles in 11g?When I eval'd 11g, I did not notice any changes in setting my roles. I did notice a significant difference in Java. I cannot remember the JDK version change from 10g to 11g. We ended up settling back to 10g for other reasons.

  • Problems with java j2re using mozilla

    Hi,
    i'm using j2re1.4.2_05 plugin for mozilla in linux (Fedora Core 2). My internet access goes throught a router (SMC Networks ISDN Barricade SMC7301TA). It's settings can be edited throught a web browser LAN connection. And here the problems begin. On routers settings page a java output console (for error and other messages) is running, which doesn't work, despite java applications on other web pages work well (I tested it on sun's java test page and it's working properly). Java console exits the following errorr message:

    Is there a way to fix this problem? Cause without the command output it's mearly unpossible to configure the router.

    Yes i can make changes. Not everything is realised with java, just the output console, which reports if the changes i made succeded, prints out logs, gives additional info about some settings etc. So, i can make changes, but i have no response, for example: everytime i save something i don't know if the save was succesful. I can't take a look at IP routing table and DHCP configuration...
    On windows xp, using internet explorer (the default version for xp) everything works perfect. But mozilla for windows has also problems with java. I know i can still change settings on wins, but right now i'm having some problems with networking on linux and i have to set things up in it (besides i use wins only because of school purposes).

  • Drawing 2D figures with Java (currently using GTK+)

    Hello everyone :)
    I am currently working on a college project which requires me to develop a graphical interface for a text based software and to draw 2-D drawings (basically frames of buildings) by reading data stored in formatted text files.
    Earlier on, I was working using GTK+, but the fact is that my program has to work on several different PCs with different OS and hence portability is a big concern. So, I wanted to ask if I could draw good enough 2D drawings using Java? Basically, I want to know the comparison between the drawings possible by GTK+ and Java. I know that interface won't be a problem with Java :)
    Also, is the learning curve for drawing steep in Java? I am a bit pressed for time as I spent a lot of time with GTK+ and GTKMM

    Thanks for your reply, but my main purpose was to have to some sort of comparison between the capabilities of Java 2D API and GTK+/GTKMM. I don't want a detailed answer, just a brief one.

  • Deployment Rule Set broken with Java 7u55

    Hello!
    I'm using Deployment Rule Set in my company environment, its signed by code signing certificate that is given out by internal CA. After I upgraded to Java 7u55, the Deployment Rule Set does not recognize older statically installed Java version.
    Versions I have:
    7u45 - install directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7.0_45
    7u51 - install directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7.0_51
    7u55 - install directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7.0_55 or C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\ - neither does not work
    When I go to site described in Ruleset and that has to use Java 7u45, then I receive an message "Deployment Rule Set required Java version 1.7.0_45 not available. In the same way it doesn't recognize 1.7.0.51 or even Java version 6.
    When I uninstall Java 7u55, everthing works fine again.
    My ruleset looks like this:
    <ruleset version="1.0+">
         <rule>
              <id location="first.site.com" />
              <action permission="run" version="1.7.0_45" />
         </rule>
         <rule>
              <id location="second.site.com" />
              <action permission="run" version="1.7.0_51" />
         </rule>
         <rule
              <id />
              <action permission="default" />
         </rule>
    </ruleset>
    Anyone knows what's wrong or is it a bug?

    costlow - I disagree.  If I'm using IE, then I only need the internal certficate used to sign the jar to be also insalled on the machine in question in the windows CA Certs store.  If the cert was the issue, why does it work with 7u51.  If it was a bad cert, it should fail with every version.  Plus, I think the pop up has a different error message if it has a cert issue.
    I'm having the exact same issue as the OP described and it all started with 7u55.  Here's what I've found:
    - With 7u55 or 7u60 installed, the error will come up rergardless of what prior version is being requested.
    - If 7u51 is the latest installed, it works
    -  If 8u05 is installed with 7u55 and/or 7u60, it works
    - If I install the 7u60 EA b15, it works
    Something in the final release is being added that blocks this functionality, but for some odd reason only in the 7 family starting with 7u55.
    Any insight you could give would be very helpful.  In the meantime, I am deploying 8u05 to cover this up, but it does pose issues for some apps that don't work with the new 8 family plugin.

  • Problem with Java assignment using StringTokenizer

    I am having trouble with a Java assignment. The objective is to take a user-defined sentence, split each word up, and put each word on a line. Then the program extracts the vowels and prints them to the end of the word in the order they appeared. The program, when properly done, looks like this:
    Enter a line of text: Early in the morning 'bout the break of day
    rlEay
    ni
    the
    mrnngoi
    'btou
    the
    brkea
    fo
    day
    I can't figure out how to take the vowels and put them at the end of the word. So far my code looks like this:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    class WordPlay
         public static void main (String[] args) throws IOException
              // ========================= //
              // Declaration of variables. //
              // ========================= //
              int               count;
              BufferedReader     keyboard;
              String               oneWord;
              String               sentence;
              String               spaces;
              String               vowels;
              StringTokenizer     words;
              // ================================== //
              // Introduction and user orientation. //
              // ================================== //
              System.out.print ("Enter a line of text: ");
              // ============================ //
              // Initialization of variables. //
              // ============================ //
              keyboard           = new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader(System.in));
              sentence           = keyboard.readLine();
              spaces               = " ";
              words               = new StringTokenizer(sentence,spaces);
              // ================= //
              // Logic statements. //
              // ================= //
              while (words.countTokens() > 0)
                   oneWord          = words.nextToken();
                   vowels          = "A,a,E,e,I,i,O,o,U,u,Y,y";
                   count          = 0;
                   System.out.println(" " + oneWord);
    I know that I need to use a StringTokenizer method to break each word's characters up and extract the vowels, but I don't know the right way to do this. My instructor stated that the program uses 2 while statements and an if statement, in that order. Problem is that I don't know how to proceed from here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Let me know if you want anything clarified. I apologize for the verbose code; my instructor doesn't let us take any shortcuts.

    Hey, thanks for replying, but I'm still confused about one thing.
    If I'm not mistaken, the program when executed takes each word that I separated with StringTokenizer and prints the consonants and then moves on. How can I get Java to store the vowels only for the amount of time needed to concatenate them to the end of the word? I would think a while loop would solve the problem, but as my code is set up, the sentence is tokenized to only words. How do I properly break down the words into characters? I would think that another StringTokenizer could do this, but it seems to me that one StringTokenizer will override the other one, yet I need each word separated as well.
    Can you offer any advice on that?

  • Taking screenshot with java applet using java robot class not working

    Hi Everyone,
    I am using the java applet to take screenshot of the web browser using the java's robot class.
    Robot objRobot = new Robot ();

    The thing work good in windows system taking screenshot but in case of mac osx i get the blank image.When i check the event viewer in mac osx i get the following error.
    invalid context
    invalid pixel format
    CoreAnimation: rendering error 506
    The problem is coming for all the browser safari,firefox and chrome.My applet is signed applet.
    What might be the reason.An early reply is very valuable.
    My machine configuration is as follows.
    OS : MAC OSX
    Version : 10.6.4
    Is that a system level issue , java plugin issue?I'am confused with this error.
    Thanks sagar.

  • In ppro 6.5 had the ability to set motion with free form using the handles can't see where in ppro cc it can be done

    In Adobe 6.5 I was able to use freeform motion path with distortion of the graphic to fly in the graphic can't see how to do that in Adobe cc premiere Pro CC I called up support and they said it's been transferred to after effects is that true?

    PPro. 6.5 or the good old Premiere 6.5 The Premiere 6.5  simple motion has been updated in the programs monitor and has more options  and styles now. You can also use the Effects control and use keyframes. One can also use various effects like perspective and more. It is all about your creativity. So the 6.5 motion is in the programs monitor.
    Double click on the video in the program window and you will see the handles. I prefer playing with figures in the motion control window with the x, y, z axis. One can even do 3d motion in that window

  • How to use the Oracle's SET ROLE?

    Hi all,
    does anyone know how I can call SET ROLE (for Oracle) from java before the report is produced with
    Crystal Reports API?
    I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 for the report design and new crystal report java sdk of JRC (v12.2 with SP1) which know as CRJ in my J2EE application.
    I tried to insert a Command (SET ROLE role) into a working fine report.
    The report runned into Crystal Reports 2008 works fine.
    Since has been made a high number of reports without a SET ROLE, to avoid to modify all the reports already made, I tried to run the SET ROLE from JAVA adding a CommandTable to report.
    Below the code inserted into java class:
              ConnectionInfos connInfos = new ConnectionInfos();
              IConnectionInfo iConnInfo = new ConnectionInfo();

    Hi all,
    running a report with two command from java (the first contains a simple "SEt ROLE role",
    the second contains a simple select) is raised the error "No results returned by the query" while in
    Crystal Reports 2008's preview the report works fine.
    Therefore I ask: "Is it possible to run a report that contains a query without result from Java?
    How can do with the SET ROLE command, which is essential for me?"
    Thanks

  • SET property step disappear when use Java SHA-1

    When I apply SET property with Java SHA-1, java.security.MessageDigest, the SET step disappear immediately. (It has been removed automatically.)
    My project requires for using SHA-1. How do I use SHA-1 hashing function in UCCX editor?
    Did UCCX editor support limited Java library?
    I'm using UCCX Editor with UCCX 8.0

    Hi, Anthony Holloway.
    I used to read your very useful SOAP in IVR tutorial, thump up!
    I have already opened a TAC case. They told me to change compatibility mode to Windows 2000 which I have changed it already.
    I also disable visual style in the property. No changes happens.
    I think my error/bug appears when I assign byte[] data. As an example:
         byte[] bArray = text.getBytes();
    "java.security.MessageDigest -> digest()" use this datatype for hashing function.
    But yours, Anthony, my opinion is your inline-style code maybe very complex to IVR for understanding while typical jre can understand it!
    Did you think so, Anthony?

  • Set role does not appear to be working

    Below, I've listed two blocks of code. The first block executes just fine. The second block throws an exception on the last line. The error returned from the server is "ORA-04043: object PERSON_VIEW does not exist". The only difference between the two blocks of code is how they log in. The first block logs in as a user with more rights. The second block logs in as a user with very little rights, but obtains more rights using the "set role" statement. I used SQL Plus to log in manually as the second user, executed the "set role" statement, and had no problem describing PERSON_VIEW. What am I doing wrong in the second block of code?
    Environment *pEnv = Environment::createEnvironment( Environment::OBJECT);
    Connection *pCon = pEnv->createConnection( "MYAPP", "PASSWORD", "MYDB");
    MetaData data = pCon->getMetaData( "PERSON_VIEW", MetaData::PTYPE_VIEW);
    Environment *pEnv = Environment::createEnvironment( Environment::OBJECT);
    Connection *pCon = pEnv->createConnection( "USER", "PASSWORD", "MYDB");
    Statement *pStatement = pCon->createStatement( "set role MYAPP_ROLE identified by PASSWORD");
    pStatement->executeUpdate();
    MetaData data = pCon->getMetaData( "PERSON_VIEW", MetaData::PTYPE_VIEW);

    In case anyone cares, the actual problem is that the OCCI throws an Ora-4043 when describing a SYNONYM in 10.1.0.3. This has been designated a bug and assigned to the development team. :o)

    Hi
    Welcome to SDN forum
    After the ECC6.0 Version Most of the JAVA things are integrated in Netweaver components like BSP,WAS, XI and Enterprise Portals etc
