Set up HP bd340i Blu-ray Disc Writer to view a 3d disk

I have a bd340i read write blue ray disk drive. I am using windows 7 with an i7 CPU 870 processor.  I want to be able to get a 3d monitor and watch 3d movies and play 3d games.
When I load a 3d disk into the drive, it ejects the disk with a message saying cannot be read. Guessing I probably need a specific driver from HP to make this work. Any help?

Hi,
Actually the graphics card makes the decision, even the ODD can read the 3D dics, the monitor can display 3D images but the graphics card can't. What do you have to do ? Upgrade the graphics card ? Good luck.
Regards.

    Hi all!
My problem is that in my latop i have a CDDVDW TSST TS-L633C writer.
With this i can 't record or play blu-ray content.
Is this possibility to get a blu-ray disc writer in my laptop from toshiba? If yes, how much does it cost?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello
Unfortunately I cannot give you presice info about that but what I know is that just several Toshiba notebooks are delivered with Blu-Ray disc drives and I was not able to find any info about Blu-Ray driver used on A500.
On my Satellite P500 I have Mat****a BD-MLT UJ240ES and this drive has BD read and write function. I dont know if you can use this ODD on your notebook model (compatibility).
I recommend you to contact Toshiba service in your country and ask for help. They should know if you can use this ODD or not.

  • Blu-ray discs don't seems to write a 'lead-out'. Help!

    Hi,
I am using Premiere Pro CS4 with Encore CS4. Up until now I have always used DVD's and not blu-ray discs and have never had a problem. I now film in full HD and would like to be able to build blu-ray discs in Encore.
I import to Encore through dynamic link, and set my blu-ray project to PAL 1980x1080, 25fps - the same as my original footage and premiere sequence. The disc appears to burn ok, and you can see there is data on the disc. However, the disc is rejected by my sony blu-ray player, and both the blu-ray disc drives in my PC. It keeps telling me that the format is unsupported. I have tried lowering too 1440 and even 720 and it makes no difference at all. I made sure the region was correct too - region 2 (as i'm in the UK).
I have tried importing very short sequences so that I can watch the process, and I have noticed that unlike my DVD discs, the blu-ray doesn't seem to write a 'lead-out). It says it's complete but it's almost as if it doesn't finialise the disc for playback.
I am so confused, and at this stage rather frustrated! Has anyone got any pointers as to what may being going wrong here?
    Thanks,
    Cath

  • Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?

I have about 23 Gb project of stills photos and still cameras video clips. But I also have some additional footage on hd from an hd  video camera.
My blu ray disc are all 50 gb and I wonder if I could  add a second project to the disc and how to go about it, as well as if it is possible how I'll create menu/s to get it working.
I posed the question in quite a few places but it does not return any relevant answer.
I have not worked with blu ray before but since the writers are much cheaper it became affordable for me and I got an external usb Samsung writer.
Window 7 recognises it but Encore (CS 4) does not -  anyway I found out it's probably better to use the "folder" option than the disc. I have created a rewritable BD using the image (iso) option with "imgburn". and although it stopped at 75% I was surprised that the BD plays with the complete project and no problem! (my rewritable is only 25Gb) so I can't experiment with with these particular projects.)     Thank you

My try does not seem so lucky
I added to my earlier succesful BR project 2 more time lines. On one I had video clips from several still cameras (2 panasonic and one Nikon) and on the other timeline, my .mts clips from my hd Everio video cam.
The Encore projects was previewing well and did not return any error (pre building).
I output the encoding to a folder and followed the imgburn well detailled instruction to burn to a folder,  i found them on the net and they were very well explained and my burning went exactly through the same steps explained.
so the procedure progressed over a few hours (it showed the size of 25.5 GB) When it was complete the disk was ejected with a message that it could not be shut again and this happens with slim external drives or Laptops.
I'm not sure what is going on now, but when I put the disk in my entertainment player It asked me If I want copy or format the disk and it won't play.
As this is the second time it happens I put it back in my BR writer, and like the first time It's going threw (I think), a "miscompares" check.
Now it's through 40% and not showing any error, but i seem to remember that I clicked "Yes" to ignore "miscompare"
So I don't really know what is going on, this is almost like 15 hours the process has been on (including the retry).
The BD-RE (50gb DL) is the same colour as the new one I have not idea if anything is written on it.
My first successful project was only animated stills with sound track added to it and burnt onto a rewritable 25 gb BR.
Well any help will be welcome:)

  • Can't write to Blue-ray Disc

After experiencing failures attempting to perform an 18GB data backup to CD or DVD using almost every backup program on the market, I decided to try using Vista Live File System to a Blue-ray disc.  While I can use Vista's Live File System to write CDs & DVDs, I get the error "Windows can't write to the disc you inserted...".  Has anyone seen this issue and found a solution?  My Blue disk drive shows as: HL-DT-ST BD-RE GGW-H20N ATA Device.
    Thanks in advance, Gary

Yep! And so far, I can't use it.  Neither can I use any commercial backup program to write to either (yes, I have 2) optical drive, CD, DVD or BD inserted.  Silly me...expecting all this to work right out of the box!

  • Titanic Blu-Ray Disc Boxed set (Ultraviolet) **FAKE**

    Hello everyone
Watch out when you purchase Titantic (5401018) ***http://www.bestbuy.com/site/titanic-blu-ray-disc-4-disc-boxed-set-ultraviolet-digital-copy/5401018.p... THERE is no Ultraviolet digital copy. I have contacted support for UVA, and paramount digital copy, and now I am contacting bestbuy because bestbuy cheat me out of the ultraviolet digital copy.

    Hello xprototypej-
I apologize for the lateness of our response; we are currently backlogged on posts and trying to catch up.  I didn’t think I would actually enjoy Titanic the first time I saw it, but it’s a pretty good movie overall with some great effects for when the ship starts to sink.  I am sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with this version of the movie.
Our product descriptions are provided by the manufacturer, so I apologize for any confusion around the availability of an Ultraviolet digital copy being available with this item.  In looking over the product description, I don’t see any mention of an Ultraviolet digital copy being included; however, it does include a digital copy.
Regrettably, since this version does not come with an Ultraviolet digital copy, we would be unable to provide one to you.  Hopefully the manufacturer would be able to assist, if this version is to include that feature.

  • Question re set up: Samsung Blu Ray Disc - 55" Samsung LED 3DHDTV - Denon Receiver

We brought this package home yesterday.  We have it hooked up as follows, pursuant to Best Buy's recommendations at the store where we bought it:  We have the Bresnan cable box hooked into the Denon receiver in the appropriate place with an HDMI cord. We have the Blu Ray Disc hooked up to the Denon receiver in the appropriate place using an HDMI receiver.  We have an HDMI cord in the spot marked "Monitor" on the Denon receiver running to the HDMI1 spot on the Television.  Everything works fine, except for one problem.  We can't watch cable television without the Blu Ray disc ON. If we are watching something on cable, and we turn off the Blu Ray disc, we get fuzzy white and black "ant races", but we can still hear the program.  We have to unplug the Blu Ray Disc if we don't want it running all the time.  I assume this could be bad for a Blu Ray.  This does not make any sense at all.  They should all operate independently of each other.   I have also called technical support and they are stumped.  Waiting for a call back from a sales person at the local store.  Anyone out there have any ideas.  The store sales people suggested that the best way to connect the components was with HDMI cords.  I have already spent $300.00 on HDMI cords alone.  Hopefully, someone out there has some ideas.  THanks.

Hi again - I thought I would report back to you on the status of my issue.  I stopped by our Best Buy store and talked to another person again.  We wanted to see if we could bring back the Denon receiver and switch it out for another one.  After explaining our situation, the guy talked to his manager.  The manager had a suggestion that we try before switching out the receivers.  I don't necessarily understand it, but you probably will.  He said (and this is NOT verbatim - just kind of what I picked up out of the conversation) that because we were using two Samsung compenents (BD and TV), that they were trying to work with one another, but we had some kind of interference with the Denon receiver and the Bresnan cable box, and that something was getting caught up and trying to work back through the BD.  Like I said, I don't understand it completely.  He suggested we go to our TV menu and find where it says Anynet+.  We were to check to see if that was turned on.  He wanted us to turn it off.  Once we did that, everything started working great.  So we are up and running with a simple menu fix.  Thank goodness it was that easy.  I thought I would just report this to you so that in case you see any more similar problems, you can try this fix.
Thanks again for your help yesterday.  Have a great day.

  • HP HDX 16 Blu-Ray discs will not play!

I have researched this Blu Ray issue for days without a real solution.  I am running Vista and notice many people feel upgrading to windows 7 was the issue, but I do not believe it is since I am still on Vista, with the same Blu-Ray disc issuey here.  Also I do not have Itunes another popular fix.  I did upgrade all the drivers I could and all the software I could from HP but did not resolve the issue.  I can play regular dvd discs but not the Blu-Ray ones with the exception of 1.  Surprisingly it is a newer one also.  Updating the Media Smart has also caused a problem with not being able to use the keyboard light at the top to open the dvd drive.  (one problem at a time though.)
The DVD Lightscribe drive shows as:  HL-DT-ST-BDDVDRW CT10L ATA Device
After years of this issue being a problem does anyone have a real fix solution? Or  Does the Blu-Ray player need to be replaced and with what.

  • Blu ray drive no longer recognizing dvds or blu ray discs

Until about a week ago I was able to read cds, dvds, and blu ray discs with my dv6 product number lm720av.  Windows 7 64 bit.  I put in a disc recently and it tries to read the disc for a couple of minutes before it stops trying and shows no disc in the drive.  I looked online and it looked like there were other instances of this happening but no one had a solution.  It can read cds but not dvd or blu ray at this point.  I tried uninstalling the optical drive via device manager and it uninstalled no problem then windows automatically found the drive and reinstalled the drivers which did not change the results.  I saw online people were suggesting running sfc under administrator mode in the command prompt.  No change.  Does this mean my blu ray diode failed?  I see two lenses in the drive, is one cd and the other a combo dvd/blu ray?  Any other suggestions?
I am about 3 weeks out of warranty on this laptop.

    Hi,
The following procedure will test if your notebook can start from a bootable disc in the CD/DVD drive - the advantage of trying this is that it will rule out any possible Windows driver error as the CD/DVD drive is under the control of the Bios when starting the notebook.  So if you find that the notebook will not boot from the DVD, then it's almost certainly a Hardware fault in the optical drive itself and it will need to be replaced.
Using another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD and DVD.  Download the ISO from the link below.
    Windows 7 64bit
You need use an application such as ImgBurn to correctly burn the ISO to a DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  Once created, insert the DVD and then restart the notebook and see if it boots from this disc - if it does, let the first screen come up ( this will show repair options etc ) then just remove the DVD and restart.  If the notebook will not boot from the DVD, it will just load straight into Windows, in which case, just remove the DVD.
    Let me know.

  • Error MessageDuring Creation of Blu-ray Disc in FCP and Compressor 3.5

Yesterday I spent more than 7 hours trying to create and burn a Blu-ray disc (actually an AVCHD disc on DVD-5 media) in both FCP 7 and Compressor 3.5. In every case, disc creation would go to completion of the encoding of the video and audio files, but when I was asked to insert a disk, I would do so and the disc would spin for about 30 seconds and then I would get the following error message: "There was an error burning your disc. The bit rate exceeded the maximum allowable." This message cannot be a correct description of the problem because I used the Blu-ray template that Apple provides in FCP 7 and Compressor 3.5 to create my disc. This template limits the bit rate to a maximum of 15 mbs and my video was only 15 minutes in length.
Additional information as follows: I am using an Early 2008 Mac Pro 8-core. I have Final Cut Studio 3 installed with all of the latest updates. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 (latest updates all installed),and I have experienced no other problems with FCP 7 or Compressor 3.5. My Mac Pro's internal superdrive is functioning fine, and in fact, I eventually took my FCP7 project and rendered it to a QT reference movie and used that in Adobe's Encore CS5 to burn and AVCHD disc using the same internal DVD burner on my Mac Pro and it worked perfectly.
I am seeking any suggestions for how to address the problem (whatever it is) that gives this error message. Would you recommend a reinstall of the applications in Final Cut Studio 3? Other suggestions? Has anyone seen this error message when trying to burn Blu-ray or AVCHD discs from FCP 7 or Compressor 3.5?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Tom

    Guys,
I am deeply appreciative of all of the suggestions and help received on this issue. I apologize for not responding sooner, but i have been looking at the problem described in this thread from numerous perspectives.
Jeremy, you may well have hit upon the solution, and I am trying your suggestion now. I did not realize that when you selected the Blu-ray template and directed it to a DVD burner that would make an AVCHD that you could alter the bit rate settings. I looked at the default bit rate that Apple sets when you select this template and I found that it allowed a maximum of slightly over 17 MBs and an average of 15 MBs. That is too high for an AVCHD disk, and thus the error message that I am getting may well be correct and not in error as I previously thought.
I have found that I prepared Blu-ray AVCHD disk as recently as late April with no problems so I don't know why I have not run into this problem of too high a bit rate before, but I had not. It may be that I used a Custom Present that I prepared and set my own bit rate for those disks.
In any case, I am trying a run now where I have set the bit rate to a maximum of 15 and an average of 13. We shall see if that still produces the error message. I shall post my results when I know them.
Again, thanks to all of you for your fine help.

  • ENCORE CS6 gives error message during the burning of Blu-ray Disc

I did it again - upgraded my Production Premium CS5 to CS6.
I will not forget CS4 that never came to work. It was not a workable version, but at best an Alfa or maybe Beta version.
I was therefore naturally afraid to upgrade my reasonably well functioning CS5 version, but did it anyway.
My fears kept unfortunately connectors. Audition CS6 scratchy and crunches a lot when I change Audio Device from MME to ASIO. It should be noted, that none of my other programs have this problem neither my Soundbooth nor Audition 5.5 which I fortunately still have installed. So it is only Audition CS6 that crunches with ASIO4ALL.
Encore CS6 is also a problem child. When I try to burn a Blu-ray Disc I get, in the final phase, following error message: Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M2S file"
Fortunately, I can open the project file in my Encore CS5, which do not have the same problem. Encore CS6 cannot be used as a standalone application - I still need to have a previous version installed to complete my projects. It is not fair.
Unfortunately I can see that many others have the same problem. Even worse, however, that Adobe still has not come with an update or fair solution of the problem - after so long.
It annoys me infinitely, I every time have to spend so much time on the Internet in an attempt to find solutions to remedy Adobe problems. These are programs I have paid dearly for - exactly twice as much as others living in the U.S. pay - just because I live in Europe.
If there is a user who has some useful suggestions I would appreciate it very much.
I must complain about my bad English.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Jim,
ISO files also works for me, but that's not what I paid for.
So far I use just the previous version CS5, but hope at some point to get CS6 to work.

  • Adobe Premier Elements 12 - Exporting trimmed AVCHD files from the project timeline, to a separate folder for burning to Blu Ray disc with other software?

Hi, can anyone help please.  This is the first time I have used this forum.
I use Premier Elements 12, a PC, 64 Bit, Windows 7, high powered computer.
Just started trimming AVCHD in this software.
I would like to know if it is possible to export trimmed AVCHD files to a folder elsewhere (files which were originally imported into the project timeline), so that I can burn the trimmed AVCHD files (not in 'Project' form)  to Blu Ray disc (using another software which I know that works to burn video files to Blu Ray disc).

    Kathy
Thanks for the update. Your progress sounds very good.
Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 are similar. But, version 13 has significant feature removals and a new Elements Organizer.
So, when viewing or reading tutorials, try to determine the version of the program being used for the tutorials. As I typically write
principles tend to remain the same from version to version, but the features tend to move, change, or be discontinued from version
to version. And, it is frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature.

  • Final Cut Pro 7: problem creating Blu Ray disc

Hello, I've a problem using FInal Cut Pro 7. I want to create a Blu Ray disc using the "Share" function, but during the process - after many hours - appears this warning message: "SHARE WARNING - NSEXPETION RAISED BY 'NSPORT TIMEOUT EXCEPTION' REASON = CONNECTION TIMEOUT: DID NOT RECEIVE REPLY". Someone can help me? What does it mean? Thanks! P.S. Duration of my film (in the timeline): 35 minutes.

Yes. It will only burn Blu-Ray if it is the Pro version though.
Compressor will also burn the Blu-Ray if you set it up to do so:

    Hello coltyn-
Based on the product description, it certainly looks like it may be able to be used as the speakers for your desktop set up.  Most likely you will need to buy some additional materials.  Unfortunately, I’m not an expert on this, so I would either recommend waiting to see if one of our community members comments on this or you can check with the experts at your local Best Buy store.

  • Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player model BD-P4600

I just bought a Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player model BD-P4600. I was told by the store salesperson that it would work with my Mac on my home wireless network.
I set everything up as directed and cannot get it to join my network. I even went online and looked for information from others who had successfully connected to their home Mac system, however it did not seem to work for me.
I have a brand new Apple iMac running Mac OS version 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). For my home network, I am using a Comcast cable modem connected to a Linksys Cisco WRT160N wireless N router. I am able to access all 3 home Mac computers, an Xbox 360 and an HP printer through the wireless network, but cannot connect the Blu-Ray player.
The message I receive says "No shared PCs were found."
I am usually pretty good with computer equipment, but I cannot get the Blu-Ray player to recognize the network. I even tried to connect directly to the router via ethernet cable with no luck.
Any thoughts on how I can get this to work?

You might also try turning off the wireless on your laptop and connecting it to the ethernet cable that is going to the DVD player. If you can connect to the internet, you know that you have a good ethernet cable and the port on the router is operational.
If you can't connect using your laptop, it's either a bad cable or connection, or you may have possibly setup Access Control on your router to only allow specified devices to connect on the basis of their MAC address.
