Setting up a new developer account has wrong name listed in personal information with no option to edit
In the process of setting up a new developer account, getting to step #2 & reviewing the personal information, the first & last name listed for my Apple ID is incorrect, however it is correct on the Apple ID settings page, as well as all of my iTunes billing information. How can this be updated? I don't want to create a developer account and be listed with the wrong name!

Is there any way to change the short name that is referred to in all the passwords of my Keychain?
I've just moved to a new PowerBook. I used the Migration Assistant to do the transfer but did not allow for the fact that the new 'short name' in the new computer and the old 'short name' in the material transferred from the old computer would conflict in the Keychains on the new machine. Point is that now, when I'm using my new account in new computer with new short name, it keeps asking for keychain passwords for the old short name!
Can I change all keys in my keychain to the new short name? Or...
Can I change my short name to match the old short name?
Would either of these solve my problem of constantly being asked for passwords for the same functions?

You can just use the original Keychains. Look in ~/Library/Keychains for a file called "looginkeychain". There may be others in there i.e from Microsoft). Just move those into the folder on the new machine, and toss the ones in there now. Use Keychain Access to view them, and edit them, if you wish.
Be warned, that changing the shortname is precarious, at best. -
Setting Up a New User Account - iTunes issue
My wife and I were both using our Mac as a single user, but logging into iTunes under separate iTunes accounts to download our own music and apps.
This week I set up a new User Account in her name, and transferred all music and apps to her User Account so she would be able to access and sync on her own account, just by fast switching, rather than logging into iTunes each visit.
When she plugs her phone into the iMac to sync via iTunes, she gets the following message:
*iTunes could not sync information to the iPhone " " because another sync client is already running*.
Anyone had this problem and found a solution ?I recently had this same error message problem with my 3GS. Here's everything I did, one of the steps solved the problem...
1. Restarted with the phone unattached.
2. Repaired permissions using Disk Utility.
3. Restarted the phone. Here's where I had some difficulty: After swiping to confirm the shutdown, the screen went black, and I had the spinning icon that wouldn't go away. I ended up having to hold the lock and home buttons down to force shutdown the phone. I powered it back up, and it took forever to start, but it eventually did. I then power-cycled it one more time, and everything was back to normal.
4. Started up iTunes. Go into the preferences, and under the "Devices" tab, I found my previous backup. I deleted it.
5. Plugged in the phone, and everything was normal. iTunes made a new backup, so the sync took awhile, but it was successful.

Please can someone help a total technophobe?!!! I have recently set up a new mail account and since I've done that my wifi button has greyed out. Not sure what happened as I had help from my daughter. She doesn't think that she did anything wrong as has been an iPhone user since day one!! She's at work now so I'm totally lost. Please help. I setup my iCloud account on my iPhone 5 with the wrong e mail address, and I don't remmber the password, I reset my tel and erase all the information on my iPhone in order to try to set up a new iCloud account but when I restart I have a problem agaIn , they ask me to put again the old iCloud user account and password, what I can do in order to start the phone when I don't have the correct e mail and I don't remmber the passcode.?
I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes. Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it? I want to stop my husbands downloads appearing on my ipad, and vice versa.
A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

How can I set up a new user account that has access to iPhoto data on Admin account?
I have set up a new user account for my son. I have set up his parental controls but I would like him to have access to the data in iPhoto and iTunes from the Admin account. I do allow him access to the applications with the parental controls, but they are empty. Thanks for your help!

Both, but App Store purchases are a clear minority, and aren't much of a problem, due to the ease of re-downloading and activating. The downloaded programs are the ones that present the problems. I have not been good about archiving serial numbers and the like, mostly because I've never had a problem like this before.
What specific apps are you having trouble with? For instance, I know that MS Office and Adobe CS5 for perfectly well for all users on my MBP.
This is a very long list. Let me give you some of it, and if you really need all of them, I'll add to the list later.

How do i set up a new email account
I'm trying to set up a new email account. When I open preferences/new account, and put in my name, a new email address and password, my mail program just turns on the beachball and says it's not responding. Not sure what to do.
It's an iMac (Intel), and yes it is a G5. I'm not a techie, but pretty sure Intel makes it a G5.
Anyway, I guess you know what the add account box looks like in Mail. The top window automatically has my full name in it. In the email address window (the new account I want to set up), I put in the new email name I want - for example, [email protected] Then I put in the password for my .me account that I know works because I can sign in and access my stuff. When I hit the create button, I get the spinning beachball, and eventually, when I do the three-finger salute to force quit, I see that mail is not responding. -

Go to www.icloud.com, go to the mail module, acess the settings (small gear wheel, on the right), choose Preferences>Accounts and create an alias in the lefthand panel.

Help with setting up a new user account
What is the solution to file sharing on the same computer with two separate User Accounts? I want to set up a new user account, but I want to be able to access the Documents, Music, Movies and Pictures folders, as well as others possibly in the original account. Is this easy to do, and/or possible without messing around too much with permissions and the like?

MacSetting up read only access for other users is pretty easy. Just change a few permissions and you're done. I'll show you how to do it if you like.
Setting up full read+write, well, that's a little trickier. It's because of how Mac OS X sets up permissions on new files and folders. By default, any new file or folder that is created gets full read and write permissions for the user that created it, and read-only for everyone else.
Changing permissions on the two users' home folders to that both users have full read+write for everything inside can be done, and it's not too hard. The problem is when new files are added - they will be read only for the other user. So the procedure has to be repeated again and again, every time a new file is created.
Having said that, it is possible to set up Access Control Lists on certain folders, so that anything that is created in to copied to the folder automatically gets read+write for both users. This is a little trickier to set up, but it can be done. I use it to share iMovie projects, and an iPhoto library between my and my wife's user accounts and it works well.
The latter solution requires entering some scary-looking Terminal commands. If you bro is scared to ask for help in web forums then he sounds likely to be scared of Terminal commands too. :/ -
i opened a new developer account but shows The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store.
actually my ios developer account has been approved two days ago, and transfer an app from other account. when i try to enter my user account via iTunes then it shows "Item Not Available, The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store." So what should i do??!!

I downloaded apps with one appleid on my iphone. When my account was disabled I set up a new appleid & account. Now I cannot update apps on my iphone that were downloaded with original appleid when I login with my new apple id. What do I need to do?

Since the applications were purchased on the older account, you will need to log into that account to update them. The newer account will not recognize the purchases because they are not a part of the purchase history for the specific account. -
How do I set up a new iCloud account
I changed my Apple ID because I have changed my IP and my previous address is no longer active. Thanks to some kind people on here I've resolved problems with apps etc but now have a problem with iCloud. It keeps asking for my previous log in details but then doesn't recognise them. From what I've read I need to set up a new iCloud account but can't find any info on how to do it. I can only find info on initial set up on new devices. Can anyone help? I ought to point out that I'm 60 with only average IT skills and I don't find Apple products intuitive no matter what the say!

How do I set up a new user account that can use all my software?
I set up a new user account on my 3 year old BTO iMac running OS 10.8.5. Unfortunately, when I tried to use it, the computer thought none of my software was registered, activated, licensed, etc. With 26 GB of applications on this machine, it will be a colossal chore to re-do everything. Is there any way around this?
