Setting up a new server without a video card?

I am looking into buying a G5 server to support my new graphics dept that will be using Macs for design work. I noticed that in configuring a G5 server that one of the options is to include a video card. If I decide not to include a card, is there some other way to setup a G5 server straight out of the box without it having a video card?

Greetings. You can indeed do as suggested with ARD, the Admin tools and another Mac. If you are running more than one server then you might be able to justify the expense of those tools. A video card is a hundred bucks and a small and lightweight flat panel monitor ain't much these days.
If you decide that you need more servers in the future then you must decide what to do if and when that happens. Right now, the graphics card/monitor solution might be the easiest and most cost-effective.
If you have the bucks then indeed go for the good stuff.
I once justified an iPod to back my servers up because it mentions it in the Getting Started manual.

Glad to be back in the forum and I was been busy for awhile. By this time lots of PC hardware already came out especially from Nvidia. Just like today my share would be MSI's N670GTX PE 2GD5/OC video card.
First of all lets talk about the GTX670 GPU chip. This GPU is the younger sibling of GTX680 which uses the same 28nm GK104 chip but with one disabled shader cluster/core.The reference or standard GPU clock is 915Mhz with a turbo boost of 980 and as for the memory is concerned, it has a 256bit memory bus connected to a 2GB GDDR5 memory with speed of 6008Mhz. HT1689 Can I set up an ITunes account without a credit card number?

We are using IPads in a school setting and having trouble setting up the ITunes account without a credit card number. We are only allowed to download free apps, the school is not paying for any, therefore we do not need to have a credit card for purchases. Is there a way to get around this so that we can still download the free apps onto the IPads?

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

Is there any setting that I may be missing in the BIOS of my H57M-ED65 that will allow it to boot without a Video Card in it?
Im using the 750 chip and its an ESX host for my home lab and I would prefer to keep it low power and not put a video card in it....

Not with that CPU, the quad core i5 750 doesn't have integrated graphics. You will need a dual core CPU (i3 or i5) with integrated graphics or a separate video card.
If you didn't know it, the graphics for that MB is in the CPU, not on the MB. You can't boot without some graphics device either, CPU with integrated graphics or discrete video card.

K9N SLI won't boot without a video card

I am trying to launch my MB without a video card. During start up it makes several beeps and seems to halt without booting. I have set the BIOS option 'Halt on' to 'No errors', but it didn't help. Is there any way to overcome this problem?

Booting without a Video Card?

Should a Dual 2.5 G5 (June 2004) be able to boot even without a video card installed?
My machine is in the shop for failing to boot: no chime, no LED, no video. The techs seem unsure of what actually ails it and want to order a replacement ATI 9600 GT to try out for process of elimination. This strikes me as a little odd.

if u can boot , with the grahic card , i advise is to go memtest86.com and download a copy of RAM diagnostic software to test your RAM.

How can I set up a new account without auto deleting messages on the server?

Ive got accounts on COMCAST.NET (are those imap accounts?) and when I created a user account on Thunderbird for one of them the autocreate process immedaitely started downloading messages from my server before I was able to set the "keep messages on server" flag. (Its been a few months, forgive me if I am not using the exact right option text but you get the idea.)
How can I create a Thunderbird account that will download all the message on my server (comcast.net) and leave them all there?
That's the only thing keeping me from switching to Thunderbird. Please help - comcast's online web client is not the most bug free thing in the world.
(Note, I am setting up a new win7 system, had been using OE 6 on winXP. I assume I am better off trying this than running OE in XP in a virtual window - and even if I moved my old message bases from XP I still need to create an account that won't immediately start downloading/deleting messages from my server before I can configure it not to.)

Comcast only offers POP accounts, and one way to set up the account and enter all the settings before it connects to the mail server, might be to do it Offline:

How can I open an Apple App account for downloading free apps? I will not let me open a new account without a sim card.

I just bought a used 1st Generation Apple iPad 64 GB, 3G. How can I open an Apple App account? I am trying to download a free app and it says I have to have an account, however, everytime I try to set up a new account I can fill only fill out some of the information but then the screen goes black and I cannot proceed with the account. I can think of no reason at all why you need a sim card to creat an Apple ID. Try this first - reboot the iPad and reset the memory.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Afte the iPad starts up again, follow the directions in this support article - exactly - to creat the account without a credit card.

IF ... You are signed into another Apple ID on the iPad you will have to sign out of that ID in order to create a new one. Settings>Store - you can sign out there.
You MUST try to download a free app in order to start the process off correctly. If you were using an email address with another ID that you already created, you will have to have another email address to associate the new ID with.

I recently made a brand new Apple ID for the iCloud and because my old ID was years old and I don't even use the email address it was registered on. Registering it went fine. But now that I want to update some of my apps via the iTunes store, it says I can't verify my new account without credit card information. I don't have a credit card at this time.
