Setting up the signature field to work with Entrust

Good afternoon everyone,
Im looking into signautres today and i would like to get a complete walkthrough as to what i need to setup under the signature fields when i press the "settings" button.
Right now there's a bunch of tabs that are available but i hhave no idea what information is required under each one in order to have the Entrust key work with them
My goal is, right now, is to just setup the signature field so that it uses Entrust certificate info of the user trying to sign my form. I have no idea how to get this started
I found my Entrust digiture signature file, i think its got the following extension: .p7c but that dont seem to be enuff to get me going.
When i press into the signature field, i want to populate this one automatically based on the user's entrust cerficate info, Help!!!!!

each of your employees will require their own pfx/p12c/entrust key. if you use unverified certs (ie. you created them yourself or they are not from a trusted CA) then when another user opens up that file on another machine, they may find the sig is unverified since they cant' verify the sig.
when they click on the sig field, it'll bring up a dialog box to select the key and require them to enter the pwd.
After that, i think reader remembers and it'll show the last sig file used in the drop down by default.  The user will only need to enter in their pwd.
When they save the file their sig will be embedded into the form. 
You may need LC ReaderExtension to extend your form so ppl can save and can add digital sigs with Adobe Reader.  Otherwise, they would all require Acrobat.

    I looked through all the settings on Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and I haven't been able to figure out how to save a pdf so that when I open it in Acrobat Reader, I can sign the signature field. When it's in Pro, the field works just fine and the document properties say that signing is allowed. However, if it's opened in Reader, it will not allow the signature box to be signed, as the options are all greyed out. When I look into the document properties while the pdf is open in Reader, it says that signing is "not allowed".
    So far the only way I've been able to get the signature field to work is by distrubuting the form and opening up the distrubuted form (which makes sense). What I'm wondering is if there is a way to allow for signing a pdf if it hasn't been distrubuted. 
    Any help anyone can give wil be appreciated.

    The document has to be enabled with Acrobat Pro, as opposed to Standard which cannot enable a document for signatures. This happens automatically when a form is distributed, but you can do it by selecting: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
    The security restriction summary indicates that signing is allowed because it is, in Acrobat. It doesn't mean it's allowed in Reader.

    Good day. I am having problem making a script work in the Adobe LiveCycle. Basically what I am trying to achieve is lock most of the fields on a form when the signature field is click. Note: Not all the fields should be locked. I then wrote a sample script with one of the field as follows:

       EmployeeLastNa.access = "protected";
    But surprisingly it does not work. I have placed this code on the Click, PostSign, and even PreSign events, respectively, but it does not work. I am just wondering what I may be doing that is wrong.

    Hi -
    rawValue does not work on signature fields, so that code will do nothing.  Use the collection feature in the signature panel to lock particular fields:
    Create a collection then modify it to lock whatever fields you need.

    But when i try to do the same in the signature field it comes in one straight line without the CR or LF's is this a bug??

    I haven't used MailForExchange so what I am about to say might not be applicable BUT if you press the * key on your keypad, this should bring up the Extra Characters page - on here you should see the CR key which looks like an arrow going vertically down and then horizontally off to the left - select it.

    Your install disk must look like this
    and not like this.
    Those gray disks are machine specific and will only work with model of Mac that they shipped with.

  • Upgraded to Acrobat X and signature field stop working

    Upgraded to Acrobat X and IntegriSign signature field stop working.  When I open the pdf and click on the signature field I get a "This plug-in is intended for validating signatures signed using earlier versions of Acrobat.  To sign using this version of Acrobat, use "IntegriSign for Acrobat 9.0 and later" handler.
    Under Perferences in Acrobat, 9.0 and later is checked.
    In LiveCycle Designer - IntegriSign  is indicated for Signature handler.
    Can't figure out how to solve this.   I have uninstalled, reset IntegriSign and Adobe settings a trillion times!
    Please help!

    I am working on dynamic (interactive) pdf and using Adobe LiveCycle Designer (Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro). My problem is that I cannot align left the signature field of my pdf. I can align left, right and center for textboxs and cannot just do that for signature field. When I couldn't do that from GUI I went to XML code for signature and tried this:
                       <para hAlign="left"/>  but it still didn't work. Ideally it should have worked.

    It's best to place any text.
    You can have all of your text in one file and use auto-flow to add threaded text frames and pages as required (Hold down the Shift key when you click the loaded text cursor), but it's a little non-standard to have the thread only on one side of the spread from the auto-flow perspective, so you'll have to set up properly.
    This is one case where a master text frame will work to your advantage. On your master page spread, add a text frame to the left page, but not to the right (or at least not threaded to one on the right -- for some other project you might actually want two independent text threads). Hold the loaded cursor over a frame on the left side of a document page and auto-flow. ID will add new spreads as necessary, but only put the text on the left side.

  • What is the best way to work with AVCHD 720 24p footage in FCE4.1?

    Hi I have a Panasonic HMC-150 and I've been shooting 720 24p footage at 21 mbps transfer rate.
    I was wondering what is the best way to work with this material in FCE 4.1? I see that in the easy set up menu they only have the option of 1440X1080i at 50 or 60 fps or 1920X1080i at 50 or 60 fps.
    Also in the rates drop down menu there is only 50 or 29.97.
    So I was wondering which is the best choice for 720 24p footage and will it look alright in any of them? Also is it possible to customize these settings?
    And finally can you work with faster transfer rates (21mbps) in FCE?

    Yikes, this is going to be tricky since FCE does not support native 24p editing.
    The work around for some of us is that AVCHD material that is 24p is often recorded to disc at 60i using telecine, in which case it can be editing at 29.97 frames per second, and then detelecined afterward for final export at 23.98 fps. The problem is that I think your camera actually records real 24p - not 24p packed into 60i. When you import the material from the camera what does QuickTime report the framerate as?

    Ok just to recap (thanks for being patient by the way)...I have put some questions in here...feel free to write in caps to respond and we'll put this baby to rest!
    1) I will work in a 1080p FCP sequence, correct?
    2) HD 1080p footage captured as applepro res hq I will leave as is and work with?
    3) HD 720p footage which was captured as applepro res hq. Can I just drop in 1080 timeline and let FCP do its work? Or should i run through compressor, if so what setting shall I submit it too?
    4) I dont have a budget for an external hardware to convert SD to HD...should I capture my SD Beta through Final Cut and just leave and let FCP do its work? Or should I run through compressor? If so what setting shall I submit it too?
    5) For for my master sequence in FCP am I not using an I-Frame format apple pro res if I am using my apple pro res hq 1080 footage as my formatted sequence? I am not sure what you mean by GOP?
    6) I also found some 60p footage 1080p XDCAM compressor shot with the same XDCAM camera. I put in the 1080p 24p timeline but it was pretty choppy...any ideas of this conform?

    Saying what CODECS you are working with was my question. 1080, 720, 4:3...really says nothing. There are a dozen 1080 codecs, another dozen 720 codecs, and nearly 100 4:3 formats.
    Best to capture all the footage to one uniform codec.
    Second best is to work with one format and let FCP conform the rest to that...IF and only IF that format is an I-Frame format like ProRes. GOP formats as master sequence formats cause TONS of issues.
    What I'd do is work 1080 ProRes, just add the 720p footage (Use Compressor to convert it if you didn't have a lot, but if you had a lot, just add it), but I'd capture all the SD 4:3 footage via a Kona 3 or Matrox MXO2 as 1080 ProRes. Hardware conversion of SD to HD is much better than anything FCP can do. AE might do good as well. But then use Compressor to convert 29.97 footage captured (you can't convert 29.97 to 23.98 when you capture) to get to 23.98.

    In YAMAHA01v96i:
    Go to DIO/SETUP select Generic DAW. Go to MIDI settings page and set the desired port (personally I use Number 1), Select the same audio frequency you use in your DAW (I use 44.1KhZ)...at this point You should save a scene in you 01V96i to avoid to repeat all the procedure again.
    Open studio manager, go to patch and set the input port from 17 to 32 respectively to USB1-USB16 (this will give you the return from you DAW to the 01v96i
    Save again the scene overwriting the old one.
    in LOGIC
    Click on preferences, select Audio then select 01v96i, then click on control surface and select Mackie design Baby HUI and in the midi session set the same port that you've been setting on the Yamaha 01V96i (Port 1 if you follow this example).
    That's more or less it.
    It worked for me...so far

    Hi gurus. I got a question for you. According to your experience what's the best approach to work with Excel or csv files that have to be uploaded through DataServices to you datawarehouse.
    Let's say your end-user, who is not a programmer, creates a group of 4 excel files with different calculations in a monthly basis, so they can generate a set of reports from their datawarehouse once the files have been uploaded to tables in your DWH. The calculations vary from month to month. The user doesn't have a front-end to upload the excel files directly to Data Services. The end user needs to keep a track of which person uploaded the files for a determined month.
    1. The end user should place their 4 excel files in a shared directory that will be seen by DataServices.
    2. DataServices will execute certain scheduled job that will read the four files and upload them to the Datawarehouse at a determined time, lets say at 9:00pm.
    It makes me wonder... what happens if the user needs to present their reports immediately so they can´t wait until 9:00pm.  Is it possible for the end user to execute some kind of action (out of the DataServices Environment) so DataServices "could know" that it has to process those files right now, instead of waiting for the night schedule?
    Is there a way that DS will track who was the person who uploaded those files?
    Would it be better to build a front-end for the end user so they can upload their four files directlyto the datawarehouse?

    Hi,
    There are functions in DS that captures the input files automatically. You could use file_exists() or wait_for_file() option to do that. Schedule the job to run every certain minute and if the file exists then run. This could be done by using a certain file name with date and timestamp etc or after running move the old files to archive and DS wait for new files to show up.

    check that single charecter field, it that is X that means the header record is processed, and do the items.
    and, this is another way, try this out also
    YOu can do this in "Define Source Structures" step,
    the HEADER is defined first,
    then the DETAIL below the HEADER.
    add the fields to the structures.
    Both should have some common key field
    Please take care that the name of the common field is the same.
    Once you do this it is linked. The you have a header and item corresponding to that header. then run the LSMW as you would.

    I would like to know if it is possible to add an image to a pdf document when I sign the document in Reader.
    I do not want to add the image in the signature field as a signature, but rather below the signature field. The image is 'n barcode providing me with more information on the signature.
    I have looked at the Stamper example, but this functionality is not avialable in Reader.

    If you insert after signing you will break the signature!!   You need to do any such stamping BEFORE signing.
