Settings removed from iTunes 8

Some settings that were in iTunes 7 appear to have been removed from iTunes 8, including:
- Song compression settings (e.g. bit rate)
- Removal of links to the iTunes Music Store from cells in the List view
Does anyone know if these settings are actually available? If so, where?
Thanks,
Ross

One thing that might help.
If the song compression that you mention is when you are importing off a cd, those settings are found in the preferences general pane. Then click the import settings button.
Hope this helps

  • Library/Settings Removed from iTune

I haven't used my itunes in about a 3 DAYS. Today, I turn it on to import a few CDs and everything is set back to normal. The only songs in my library are the 50 or so I bought from iTunes. The other 4000 are completely gone. There's not listing or anything for the songs. Playlists are gone. Videos are gones. Everything.
I checked and the media folder location was set back to the original My Music/iTunes/iTunes Media. My music is actually at E:/iTunes, everything is still on the external drive, so nothing was deleted. I tried changing the media folder location back to normal but nothing went over. I don't want to have to re-import 4000 songs and re-get album artwork, song titles, etc.
I think iTunes my have updated without me knowing and reset it's settings. Is there a way for me to restore itunes to the way it was previously?

  • How can I get music REMOVED from iTunes Store?!

I manage a band who has never been signed to a record label however, they had a distribution deal which has since expired and the company went under. Apparently they put a CD up of my band on iTunes Store and items look to have been purchased as the Popularity "meter" is maxed out on some. Where the money is going outside of Apple's cut... who knows. But how can I get my band's music removed from iTunes' Store? I can't find contact numbers anywhere. Thanks for any help!!
    Rachel

I forgot to mention that the distributors with who we have an expired contract are no where to be found. yikes.

  • How do I remove a song from my ipod that has been removed from itunes but still appears on my ipod

I have an ipod touch and my problem is how to remove songs from it when they have been removed from itunes. After synching the songs still appear on the ipod. How can I fix this?

    Hi empty,
Have you deleted the song from the iPod itself? Go to the songs list and swipe left on the song title. A "Delete" option should come up allowing you to directly delete the item from your iPod....

  • Podcast Removed from iTunes

My podcast has been removed from iTunes, and I don't know why.
If you were to do a Google search, you can easily find it, and the following link is provided:
itunes.apple.com/ie/podcast/arc-light-stories/id404452832. However, if you open that link in iTunes you are told that the podcast no longer exists.
Is it permanently gone even though Google can still find this link?
The feed for the podcast is arclightstories.com/podcast/feed.xml, and it has been working fine.
I've been using Podcast Generator to create the feed and send it to iTunes.
Is there any way to restore it to the store without losing my subscribers?
Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated.

Your podcast does appear to have been removed from the Store, There's no real way of knowing why - it might even be an error - a quick look at the feed suggests that it's unlikely that it's a matter of unacceptable content or copyright violation.
You could try emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com but you likely won't get a helpful answer, in which case you will have to re-submit it as a new podcast. You will need to change the title slightly or you will be told it has already been submitted, and it's a good idea to keep the feed filename.
Your subscribers can still see your feed - the Store is not involved once they have subscribed - and you can move them to another feed by following the instructions here:

  • I purchaseed an app monotoricamera but i cant find this application and this app removed from iTunes store what can i do for this problem?

i purchaseed an app monotoricamera but i cant find this application and this app removed from iTunes store what can i do for this problem? when i use report problem in purchase history " say to me this app is removed and i pay for that

Well, if you didn't keep it in your iTunes library, on your computer, & then back that data up, you're out of luck if it's no longer available in the App store.
Apple warns to backup your purchases for this very reason.

  • Finding nemo removed from itunes store again??

There have been a few posts about the quality of the film so it may be due to that, in which case it may re-appear at some point with a corrected version.

  • "Holy Cornholio" REMOVED from iTunes

The Beavis and Butthead episode "Holy Cornholio"  (episode #4) has been removed from iTunes from the final season.  I can download/view the other episodes I have purchased, but this one seems to no longer be in the iTunes database.  What happened?  How do I get a refund on the purchase if it is no longer going to be made available to those who purchased it??

You will need to ask the TV company why it's been removed, and whether they have any plans to put it back in your country's store - if you do get contact iTunes Support and if they reply you are likely to only be told that it's not in the store, and they won't know if it will be put back.

  • Why when I removed smart playlists from my iPhone are they removed from iTunes?

So I was trying to remove some playlists from my iPhone then reload them so the sort order would be correct.  But after I removed the playlists from my phone then synced with iTunes, the playlists were removed from iTunes.  Why?  Can they be recovered?  I had a few I really liked.

    Hi Makki28,
I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with your iPhone. If you are having issues with incomplete transfers of your purchases from your iPhone to iTunes on your Mac, you may want to double check that you are following the steps as outlined in the following article:
Re-download or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer - Apple Support
If you are still having incomplete albums, you may also want to try directly redownloading the purchases from within iTunes, as noted in this article:
Download past purchases - Apple Support
    Regards,

  • I have recently had some music files removed from itunes.  The  originals are still on my ipod.  How do i restore these missing items to my itunes......

I have recently had some music files removed from itunes.  This was not supposed to happen!  However the originals (consisting largely of playlists) ae still on my ipd and I do not want to do any syncing until I have resolved the issue. Is there any way to  restore these missing tunes from the ipod to my itunes?  Grateful for any input........

You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer song files from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
NOTE:  Songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store can also be re-downloaded at no cost, from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.

  • How do you get an iphone app removed from iTunes App Store?

Angle Bar Solutions Movie Maker app for the iPhone is being miss-sold.
It is advertised as having Time-Lapse capabilities but it does not have these.
When I write a review to warn others the review gets posted before the one saying that all previous reviews are irrelevant as an update has added the functionality.
    There is no update!
    The app cannot do Time-Lapse!
I want a refund and I want Apple to remove the app from iTunes App Store.
    Please help.

I would email iTunes Customer Service:

  • Why is blurred lines removed from itunes

why is blurred lines removed from Robin Thicke's Album?

Interesting, looks like some sort of weird glitch in the iTunes Store. Track 10 is showing up twice, and track 1 is not showing up at all. I would venture to guess that it would download correctly if someone actually purchased the album, but I won't be the one to test that theory. Hopefully they get it resolved soon.
Here is what the OP is talking about:

  • Two Marvel (Disney) movies removed from iTunes library

I have had two movies (Thor and Captain America:The First Avenger) , removed from my iTunes library.
I have chatted with support and they say the content provider has removed the content, thus my purchases are no longer available.  However, if I search iTunes, the movies are available for purchase.  I discovered the Disney Movies Anywhere app and was able to view the movies there, but that still doesn't put the movies back in my iTunes library and thus I cannot watch them on my apple tv.
I asked for a credit to repurchase the movies, but Apple refused.
Anyone have this same issue and tips for remedying the situation?
    Thanks

Hmm, it is only very recently (about 6 months ago I think) that the policy on Music changed. Prior to that you would be routinely reminded to back up all purchases (immediately after the successfully completed download), unless of course you ticked an option not to be reminded again. The change in policy (in our favour) would have been noted in the small print that neither you or I read when upgrading iTunes, though we say that we have.
Again I'm still not certain if audiobooks are excluded from both "Music" and "Books". One would hope that they belonged to one category or the other in respect of redownloading. In the past, in the event of an absolute disaster, fatal hard-drive crash, fire etc. some users have been able to prevail upon the charity of the iTunes store staff who would occasionaly grant a second, but never a third, download of past purchases.
The restictions on different types of media are ultimately imposed by the rights holders, not Apple. It is in Apple's interests to offer the same terms as their competitors, so my guess is that nobody currently offers unlimited repeat downloads of movies. Certainly the unique codes you get on some DVDs/Blu-Rays are one-time only.
Backup all (or at least the non-replaceable parts) of your library with this User Tip.

    Hi,
Start here at the green iTunes Store icon
Follow the menu items that deal with Managing your account. Eventually it will offer you an email Contact option.
Use this to explain you would like to remove the iPhone from iMessages registration.

  • Warning!  Songs were removed from iTunes Library after installing new iTunes and iPad/iPod Sync

I purchased the iPad 2 yesterday, updated my itunes software, and itunes messages indicated that it would not allow certain songs to be included in my library any longer since these were not purchased from iTunes.  Many of the songs were from CDs that I stored on this library for several years.  Only after I upgraded iTunes with this new iPad was my music removed.  Luckily I still have my music on my iPod, but my iTunes library on my laptop contains only the music I have purchased from iTunes with the last 18 months.  Weirdly, except for one particular song that iTunes said was not purchased from them, but it was part of an entire album purchase from iTunes.  Also, all of the movies I purchased from iTunes were also removed. I am not able to sync any movies onto my iPad.
I restored the iPad a second time, reinstalled the itunes and have the same result.  All of my older archived music is gone from the iTunes library.
Warning, if you want your music, back it up before installing the latest iTunes particularly if you have the new iPad 2.
