Settings stored locally in Documents & Settings

HI there.
I remeber reading an answer when migrating to 1.5 last year, that you had to specify
AddVMOption -dide.user.dir=G:\whateverdir in the *\ide\bin\ide.conf file*
in order to have the settings stored ie on a network drive (sharing the setup, when logging on to other pc's, servers etc).
I cant seem to make this work in the new 1.5.4 ... It stores all the XML files in documents&settings\myuser\applicationdata\sqldeveloper ...
And I cant seem to fint the question&answer here in the forum again
What may I have missed?

Well - why on earth make a variable with the utterly saying name D (and make room for another one - called d??).
So, yes - it was case sensitive ... now it works fine :-)

Error 26253 : Error while checking & storing in c:\\document & settings...

Envir : ECC6.0 & DMS6.0
We have successfully configured Dev box with content server. After we moved the transports , in the test box we are getting the following error when trying to upload document to repository. To be more precise this error pops up when we try to save doc to repository. On dev server we did not get this error.
We have checked connection to content server using CSADMIN.
also all config on Dev & Test are identical.
Is there any settings that need to be changed in DMS? Any advice will be appreciated.

I have checked in Test Server & repository has been created.
Are there any settings on the DMS server side which BASIS ADMIN has to do or does only moving transport work?
Is there anything else I can check.

Are color settings stored within indesign documents

Good day!
I might have done a more thorough search, but as we use Indesign in a non-english version I may have problems there anyway, so if the issue has been addressed previously could someone please point me to a pertinent thread?
Anyway, our problem is this:
A customer provided indd-files and we populated it with rgb-images of various spaces (ECI RGB v2, which is our RGB working space, and Adobe RGB) and exported x-1a pdfs.
Those pdfs showed erroneous separation for the Adobe RGB-files.
Our Color Settings are set to Preserve Embedded Profiles for RGB-mismatches.
But newly imported RGB-files seem to always get set to Document Space in those documents.
So the indd-files seem to maintain the Color Management Policies of the application as of the time of its creation and disregard the current settings.
Can this be remedied for those files?

I usually have those turned off to be able to have the programm open multiple files of different spaces un-attended.
But your recommendation is appreciated and indeed seems to be the (only) way to go here.

Trying to download iTunes 10.4.1. I have windows xp. iTunes would not load. I followed the directions from this sight to uninstall everything. When I try to install, I get this message: C:\Documents and Settings\Kelley\Local Settings\Temporary Intern

Hi - thanks for your help and sorry not to have replied before - I've been away.
I use mainly Chrome but also tried IE8 just in case - no difference. However I finally remembered that when I had a similar problem downloading/installing OS4 for my iPhone (which crashed it and caused total lockup for about 4 days, resolved only after hours of calls to iPhone helpdesk) it turned out that the problem was caused by my home wi-fi connection. When I hard-wired the network connection the problem was solved. I tried it with iTunes - and it installed first time.
Don't know what would cause this problem, which as far as I can see affects only Apple software. Everything else seems to download and install over the wi-fi without glitches.

What kind of gobbledegook is that? Are you or Microsoft crazy. Us computer users need simpler instructions. Or you need to write your programs so that they work.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

           ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
Select either one of the radio buttons marked
          Allow sites to save information on this computer
          Block all sites from storing information on this computer
according to your preference. The usual display of Flash content doesn't require that you allow it to save information. Note also that this setting only affects Flash; it has no effect on web cookies or AutoFill.

It's stored in registry of the local PC. I never tried, but with methods REGISTRY_SET_DWORD_VALUE & REGISTRY_SET_VALUE of class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES you might be able to set it.

Where are Optimizer settings stored?

I need to deploy PDF Optimizer settings throughout my organization, like I did with joboptions.
So far I have been unsuccessful in searching for a file with the name into which I saved my optimizer settings.
Where are the optimizer settings stored? I would hate to have to set these all manually for everyone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

How do you change the document settings of an alternate layout?

When you create an alternate layout this modal pops up allowing you to choose a page size with width and height dimensions. After you've selected "OK" how to you get back to this modal? When you go to File > Document Settings it only shows the settings for the main layout (frist layout created). How do you get to the doucment presets for an alternate layout?

You could use the Page tool.
In the Pages panel, highlight the master page used by the alternate layout you want to change. Choose the Page tool. Enter a new page size. Because you're applying this to the master page, it will apply to all the document pages based on it.

Are Workbook settings stored in any table

Are the workbook settings stored in any of the tables? There is a requirement for me to collect the information on whether the Refresh automatic has been checked or not for the workbooks.
It would be great, If any of you can provide me with the details of the same.

Where are the http proxy settings stored for JRE 6? I am trying to figure out how to centrally manage these settings for a large number of computers. I have heard about the deployment.properties file, however changing this file is not changing my proxy settings.

BTW, I'm not trying to duplicate a catalog; moving it to a larger drive. When opening the newly moved catalog in LR, my former settings (identity plate, defaults, etc.) didn't migrate, though I copied the LR settings folder and its contents into the new location (drive) and opened my develop presets.

Publishing settings and local security alerts

For Flash 8 and player 8 - how can I set a .swf file (that is

internet, but also run locally (if someone downloads the piece)
WITHOUT having the security dialog box appear? Would I use

Where are all the settings stored?

When working with Data Modeler users can setup a couple of preferences.
E.g. windows size and position on desktop but others as well.
Where are all these settings stored?
Is it a file or in Win Registry?
How can I backup these (current) settings?
In addition I want to copy them onto another Data Modeler installation on another computer and use them over there as well.
Do 32bit and 64bit version access the same settings values?

Hi,
In Tools -> Preferences->Data Modeler there are import/export buttons.
Use export to create file and import it on another computer.
