Setup of STS in SAP IP

Hello Experts,
We are working on SAP IP implementation project in which we are using STS (Status tracking system). STS is dependent on hierarchy and setup of STS involves manual efforts for each node. In our system there are close to 5000 cost centers. To setup STS manually for these 5000 cost center is too much manual efforts. Is there any way to automate this setup with least amount of manual efforts !
-- Prawin

Hi,
If there are similar settings for all the cost centers but with different values you can use BDC or CATT to complete the setup. You have to first prepare a single flat file for all the cost centers with the values that are required for the different fields in the set-up eg. Person responsible , email-id etc..

  • How to setup Data guard for SAP database?

Can someone please tell me how to setup data guard for SAP databases?
    Thanks,
    Abhi

    Hi Abhi,
have a look at OSS 105047 - Support for Oracle functions in the SAP environment you find this under
    14
    Oracle Data Guard
    You can use "Physical Standby".
    You cannot use "Logical Standby".
You are allowed to use Fast Start Failover (FSFO) but SAP Support is not provided.
You can use Data Guard Broker.
You can use Maximum Performance Mode, Maximum Availability Mode and Maximum Protection Mode.
In the case of Maximum Availability and Maximum Protection, you must pay particular attention to a fast network connection in order to avoid performance problems.
Maximum Protection causes the primary database to terminate if problems occur in the standby database.
And here you find on Oracle white paper from 2010 http://www.oracle.com/us/solutions/sap/wp-ora4sap-dataguard11g-303811.pdf
Perhaps some SAP user have answers for you http://scn.sap.com/community/oracle/content?query=guard

    Hi
I think that you have had your question answered so if you are happy with this can you please award points if you want to but mainly can you please mark your question as answered so that it is easier to navigate around the open questions in the forum as the number of pages are growing and growing and it takes too long to go through everything especially if a satisfactory answer has already been given and people like me who want to help will give up and so some people may not get any help.
    Thanks for this

  • What setup required to connect SAP from Laptop

    Hi All,
I have installed SAP-GUI from my laptop I have added my Servers in to the logon pad after that i connected my system remotely. Once its connected thru remotely after that we will work SAP, this is normal setup we are following. But am not able to connect my server from my laptop.
So what are points i need todo for geting SAP to connect the servers?. I have added the logon.ini file into proper location.
    Kindly explain.
    Anandhan

    Hi,
Remote connection from PC or laptop to server must use citrix or terminal service. You can also use VPN to access the citrix server. In the VPN, you  can use forticlient SSL VPN :
    http://portal.modeldriven.org/sites/default/files/SSL_VPN_Client_User_Guide.pdf
You must install ica client in your laptop before running the B1 from citrix. make sure that the user code to run B1 in the citrix must be registered in the citrix

  • Error DIAPI when setup Client: B1_SecuritySupport.dll (SAP 9.0 PL05)

    Dear All
    Please help me!!!
I previously used SAP Client 64bit, then I remove it to setup client 32bit but i can't install.
    Thanks

This isn't the issue. Crystal Reports runs fine. Opening from all programs works fine. It's when in SAP, and you try to preview any marketing document for the first time only, I get a windows error box stating "The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP Business Objects\SAP BusinessObjectEnterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\rasauditingw.dll". Clicking OK on the box allows the document to be previewed, and crystal viewer opens properly. This above note does not reference this issue, or is it relevent to this version of SAP 9.0.

    2. set up a periodic job for SAPconnect
This IMG activity is a prerequisite for the following functions:

if he will access thru internet he needs to type your wan ip address ([http://www.whatismyip.com/|http://www.whatismyip.com/]) but before that you have to adjust your router port forwarding settings, redirect port 8000 to your local ip. You may check your router's configuration documents for more detail information.

  • Steps to setup Direct Production in SAP

    Hello gurus.
Could someone post a link to a guide; or the steps to setting up Direct Production in a Plant?
We have a final assembly that has a multilevel BOM; what we want is to create one production order for the final assembly and have the production orders of all subassemblies below it automatically created and linked to the final assembly.
We would like to be able to confirm the Production Order for the final assembly and have the rest of them automatically confirmed as well, performing all of the backflushes and costing necessary.
    Thank you.

    Direct production:
Once production is done, the goods receipt for the components is completed in the warehouse in a way that goods issue of the components can be carried out for the production order of the superior assembly.
Components are produced directly for the higher-level assembly and consumed...
If you want to use direct production for a particular component all the time, you have to enter the special procurement key for direct production in the material master for the component (MRP 2 view).
If you want to use direct procurement for a particular BOM only, you have to enter the special procurement key for direct procurement in the corresponding BOM item in the MRP data area. This entry overwrites the entry in the material master.
If you have activated direct production in the material master, you can switch off direct production for a particular BOM, if you deactivate direct production in the MRP data area of the corresponding BOM item under Explosion type. This entry overwrites the entry in the material master.

  • Person who done the Sap GRC Tool Setup

    Hi Experts,
       Hope you are doing well.
i m need in  SAP GRC.
I need to do the lab setup of SAP GRC tool in our company .to do that  what the setup we require (software and hardware). Its help me if you provable me in details.
As of now I have installed IDES ECC6 (Hardware: win 2003, 2 GB ram, 250 GB Hard disk) in company Lab.
    Query,
1, what are software and server I need to setup to work on Sap GRC in LAB.
2, What are the added on software we need to  SAP GRC Tool (In details)
3, Can I get SAP GRC (trial ver) and patch ( In details) . I have OSS id to download also in SAP Site
    Thanks for your Support
    Regards
    keshava

1, what are software and server I need to setup to work on Sap GRC in LAB.: You need at the bare minimum a system running Netweaver AS 7.0 JAVA with SP12.  You could run it on the same system as your ECC installation, but I would not recommend this in a production environment due to performance overheads.
2, What are the added on software we need to SAP GRC Tool (In details): In addition to your NWAS7.0 JAVA server, you'll just need the installation files downloaded through service marketplace and follow the configuration guide from the same place.
3, Can I get SAP GRC (trial ver) and patch ( In details) . I have OSS id to download also in SAP Site: I don't believe you can get a trial version of GRC AC 5.3, but you might consult your SAP rep to make sure.

  • SAP Printer setup for Color Laser printer

    Hi,
Currently i have just setup a printer in SAP successfully.
But as this printer is a color laser printer, the printouts are in colors.
Is there any settings which i can set it to monochrome?
    Thanks

    Chong,
    Could you check this?
Run SPAD transaction. Enter your Output device name(Printer name) and hit enter.
Under the 'Output Attributes' tab , see if the checkbox 'Color printer' is checked.
If checked, uncheck it and try printing.

  • STS: Portal HTTPS to BSP HTTP transfer issue

    Hi Experts,
    We have the following issue.
We use portal with SSL, and we put SSL on out BW backend system. We also use STS, and we created a BSP iView in the portal to use STS inside portal.
The problem occurs when a link to the iView is clicked. What happens is that when the iView is being loaded, all the session cookies are getting blocked for some reason, so that clicking on any link in STS results in timeout error.
My observation is that STS only uses SSL for the login page. So when a request comes through the portal that uses SSL it goes to a BSP iView without an SSL (you get the warning that you are about to display non-secure items).
A workaround solution is to goo to IE properties, security/privacy and click the "Allow all session cookies" checkbox. This a bad solution because it involves telling users to configure their browser. I am wondering if anybody had the same or similar issue, and if there is any other resolution then just explicitly allowing cookies in the browser.
We have another environment setup in QA that does NOT use SSL for either portal or a backend BW, and this problem with cookies does not happen there. I am guessing it has something to do with a switch from HTTPS to an HTTP request when it comes through the portal.
Please let me know if you know how to resolve this.
    Thank you,
    AG

    Hi Marc,
Thank you very much. The note helped us ensure that all the STS pages are using HTTPS protocol. There is still one issue remaining though.
When STS generates its start URL, for some reason it starts with HTTP, not HTTPS. It is evident when you go to BPS_TC tcode and try to execute option "Test call with display of URL". The URL that gets displayed is for example:
    http://test.somedomain.com:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/tunguska/start_sts2.htm?teilplan=ZBUDGET&version=002&sap-client=200&sap-language=E
When pasting this link in the browser, STS automatically redirects you to the https protocol, which is fine if you are using STS BSP application stand alone.
This represents a problem however, if the application is integrated into portal BSP iView. If portal is running under HTTPS, then clicking on the STS iView causes a warning message to be displayed saying that you are about to be redirected to the page that is not secure because for some reason the very first page STS generates uses http protocol disregarding the fact that HTTPS has been setup for STS. This warning message creates a false assumption that the pages are not secured, while in fact right after the warning message is displayed a redirect to https occurs making sure STS pages are protected.
My question is there some sort of global setting where you can control the generation of STS start URL? I made changes for every page making sure Transfer Options set to HTTPS, and also made sure Logon page is using HTTPS in the SICF transaction for tunguska and tunguska_detail services.
At this point we are stuck and do not know what to do to eliminate that warning and how to control the generation of start URL in STS. Any help would  be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Andrei

    Hi Ainsley,
A work around?  Yes and no and sort of ...kind of...
This turns out to be quite complex and tempermental.
In short, you cannot use Windows AD authentication, but instead use LDAP (with the Microsoft Active Directory). We were able to get this to work with much effort.  The biggest limitation is that it supports a single AD forest.
I am giving a presentation on silent single sign on for BI4 and Enterprise Portals at the SAP BO User Confernce in Orlando and  will see about posting the slides after the conference, but can share some of the resources here that we found to be most useful.  Please reach out to me if I can help further.

  • Service desk for non-sap (please - any inputs are welcome)

    hi all,,
I know how to setup service desk for SAP use. Can some one provide me some tips on using solution manager - service desk for non-sap as well? eg: the company wants to use service desk for normal activities as well, as laptop not working, server down, other system issues etc.
The questions I have are -
    1) Any specific structure to be created for the non-sap? The way we use in SAP specific environment is to use "SAP Components" while creating tickets. How can we create tickets for non-sap components? What will be the "responsibility" selection?
    2) How about the Ibase? For SAP, the ibase already have the data from SMSY. How can I get data for non-sap systems? Anything is SAP to keep the Asset management data (like entries of laptops, servers etc)
Thanks for all the suggestions !!

    Hi
You need to go for service desk XT which is the extension of service desk to manage non sap or IT incidents
    Check below link
    https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/_solutionmanager
Heterogeous system environments are a challenge for IT-service management in any company. The associated complex structures and varying forms of media often make it difficult to realize efficient service processes. With SAP Solution Manager Service Desk - Extended Usage (Service Desk XT), SAP offers a centralized support tool as a single point of access - for service requests and problem tickets related to SAP and non-SAP software.
The Single Point of Access for Support
SAP Solution Manager, which is a standard part of every SAP solution and therefore can be used by all SAP customers, supports users in SAP relevant service requests. The standard function of the service desk is restricted to service requests.
With Service Desk XT, SAP provides an extended support tool, which can be also used for general service requests, for example regarding IT or telecommunication equipment.
This priced add-on does not require additional interfaces to third-party products - the same service requests are used for SAP and non-SAP applications. This simplification is a benefit for your employees.
This solution has been created with IT service providers in mind, especially those which work within a company and currently do not have an IT-service desk application in place or would like to replace an existing system.
