Several problems after upgrading from ios 5.1 to ios6?

Hi all,
I am using an iPhone 4 and upgraded to ios6 (mistake or not?)
Here are some several things that I noticed after the upgrade:
1) my battery drains out much faster than before
2) problems connecting to wifi at the office and major problems at home; doesn't connect to the network even though I am next to the router
3) my phone displays missed calls even though I checked the missed calls list before.
That's it for now, I will update when I have more information.
Please feel free to add if you have something that I might have missed.

Most users haven't had problems with iOS 6, however, some have. I'm still using iOS 5.1.1 on my iPad 2. There is a beta version iOS 6.1 being tested. Don't know when it will be released. When it is released, I'll update.
 Cheers, Tom

I Updated my iPad 2 to ios6 then day iOS6 was released, ever since then i have been unable to connect to the wifi. I've reset the network setting and the wifi works for about 5 minutes until i go on any apple app ( itunes, app store, maps etc). I've reset the Network settings more than once, I've turned the HTTP proxy to auto, I've pressed Renew Lease, I've unplugged the wifi, and I've pressed Forget this network. Reluctantley i updated my ipod touch 4 gen to see if iOS 6 was the problem and I now have the exact same problem on my ipod touch. Someone Help!!

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

  • Email problem after upgrading to ios 8.1.3

After upgrading to ios 8.1.3 my wife and I are having problems with our separate iPods downloading email messages from our Hotmail accounts.  Synchronisation can be slow, sometimes doesn't happen, and at other times the header information downloads but a message says the content could not be downloaded from the server.  Swiping down to do an email refresh doesn't solve it.  Closing down the email app and switching the iPod off and on does cause the message to download properly.  Of course it could be a MSN/Hotmail problem, but it seems suspicious it has coincided with the 8.1.3 upgrade.  As a cold reboot solves the problem, I think it is a problem with ios 8.1.3.

I have this exact problem with gmail and have been unable to solve it. I checked my account, smtp settings, everything is as it should be. I deleted my account (twice!), and then added it back in. No help.
The problem however didn't appear right away for me on my ipad (3e gen). It occurred rather spontaneously in the last week of february.
Strangely, it recognizes my account, and I can send e-mails with it. So the problems seems to be on the receiving side. It recognizes the structure of my gmail, but all the folders are empty. On my iphone 5 I do not have this problem.
My workaround for now: download the google gmail app and use that to check my mail. Sending still works with the ipad mail app. But it is frustrating not being able to use this to receive mail.

After upgrading to ios 6.1.2 my iphone4 no longer recognises the docking station - anyone else having this problem, how to i fix it?

I have the exact same problem following the software update. My phone doesn't work with my handy clock dock, nor will it work with my FM plug-in for my (old, pre USB jack) car. Is this some ploy by Apple to get us to buy only Apple-brand accessories?

  • Smb protocol problem after upgrading to IOS 8

    Hi,
I use SMB protocol to connect to Windows share folders in our company.
Using IOS 7 on the iPad was working great until i upgrade one iPad to IOS 8.
I can't connect using SMB protocol on the iPad with IOS 8. With an iPad with IOS 7 still works great.
The settings are the same. I tested Goodreader v3 and v4 and FileExplorer program on the iPad with IOS 8 and on the iPad with IOS 7.
The problem is only on the iPad with IOS 8. It does not matter which program I use. All are not working.
On the iPad with IOS 7 all the programs works just fine.
It seems that after upgrading to IOS 8, I have problem connecting to the share folders in Goodreader v3, v4 and in FileExplorer.
It seems the problem is not on the settings of the server, account etc, also not program related but with the IOS 8.
Does someone have this problem or now how to fix this?

    Hi all,
I have run some more test and the problem is not with the SMB protocol but to connect to a DFS server.
One share name like company.local and behind this we have some servers.
The problem is with the DFS name (routing) When I connect directly to one server share location, it works fine.

  • Problems after upgrading to iOS 5.0...

    Hi,
maybe it's been said and maybe it's a matter of the iPad 1, but after upgrading to ios 5.0 all my apps started to reset when used. Is there something I can do to avoid this?  I tried resetting the iPad and nothing....
    Kind Regards

If the apps that are crashing are third party apps - not the Apple installed apps - try downloading another app - any free app will do. That resets something in your iTunes account and it should allow those third party apps to work again.
You said that you reset the iPad - but if you didn't reset this way - try it - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You can also try quitting all apps and see how the iPad behaves once you start using apps again. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try restoring the iPad if nothing else works.
A number of us are experiencing issues with this update. Apple announced that an update (iOS 5.01) is coming soon and it has been released in Beta to developers. Hopefully, the general public will be getting it soon and it will help resolve some of these "buggy" things that some of us are experiencing.

  • Several problems after upgrading iOs

HI. This is my first post here at apple support so I hope you guys can help me with this.
after upgrading my mini iPad  ios I've been having some troubles with safari and the battery. First of all I read a few post about the battery lasting less than before, so Im not the only one.
but the most anoying thing is about safari...first of all sometimes it doesnt shows the pages I try to visit the way those pages really are, for example...motorola.com.ar...its a mess, I cant understand anything, all the buttons and images, letters, they are all desorganized, with wrong colours.
and second of all, when the webpage I visit, has several images like ebay or mercadolibre.com.ar...in wich you have to use your finger to see the other images...well...maybe the first image can be seen but sudden,y you cant move the picture to see the others images behind. i hope there is a safari upgrade or ios upgrade to solve the troubles....ohh, and Im also habing troubles with wifi, it disconects by it self, and I have to select the wifi again in order to be connected again! Thanks in advance, hope Im clear enough my english isnt so good!

Not sure if any of these will help but you should give them a try.
For the wifi problem use the Settings app and the wifi section. Tap on your wifi network and then tap on Forget this network. Then let your iPad try to connect again. You will have to enter the password or key.
For the Safari problem first try quitting Safari like I describe here. Then use the Settings app to clear Safaris History and Website Data. Then reset the iPad.
Tto quit Safari: To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app.
Settings > Safari > scroll down to Clear History and Website Data
Then reset your iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
Finally, the website you are trying to load may not be programmed propery causing it to fail with Safari. If the problem persists after doing what I descried above, you might try using a different browser. There are many other browsers in the App Store.

  • Search Service Application problems after upgrading from Foundation to Enterprise edition of SharePoint 2013

Hi all. I have been searching for days for a solution to a problem I am having with SP2013 Enterprise edition.
We recently upgraded from SP2013 Foundation to SP2013 Enterprise. After the upgrade, the search services are no longer working and we are receiving many application log entries indicating the following:
Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (ea2019ef-bb9e-4efe-85ee-5d2307406f31).
Reason: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

       at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ApplicationServerJob.ProvisionLocalSharedServiceInstances(Boolean isAdministrationServiceJob)
    as well as:
Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (ea2019ef-bb9e-4efe-85ee-5d2307406f31).
Reason: The object you are trying to create already exists. Try again using a different name.
    Technical Support Details:

       at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance.Synchronize()
       at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ApplicationServerJob.ProvisionLocalSharedServiceInstances(Boolean isAdministrationServiceJob)
I have tried to remove the search service application and recreate it, and even though the SharePoint Central Administration states that it was created successfully, I am still getting the same errors in the log. If I go to the Search Service Application
Search Administration page, the "System Status" shows the following message:
The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component. Verify that the administration component '0359af35-0982-4ede-8838-b1d390e915bf' in search application 'Search Service Application' is in a good state and
    try again
Additionally, under the "Search Application Topology" section, it states "Unable to retrieve topology component health states. This may be because the admin component is not up and running" which I assume is normal if the admin is not
    running.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Joaquin,
According to your description, the error occurred when you re-created the Search Service Application.
Based on the error message, I recommend to verify the things below:
       1. Check if the association between the Search Service Application proxy and the web application is configured.
Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Configured service application associations > Click Default to see if the Search Service application is checked.
       2. Change the app pool for the Search Service Application to SharePoint Web Services Default in the properties of the Search Service Application.
Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > Highlight the Search Service Application > Click Properties in the ribbon > Change
the two app pool to SharePoint Web Services Default: App Pool For Search Admin Web Service and Application Pool for Search Query and Site Settings Web Service.
        3. Run PS command to check if the search admin timer job is enabled: Get-SPTimerJob
job-application-server-admin-service | fl. If it is not enabled, use PS command to enabled it and then reset Internet Information Services: Enable-SPTimerJob job-application-server-admin-service.
    Best regards.

  • Had a huge problem after upgrading to iOS 4

After upgrading my iPhone 3G to iOS 4 I got a message on my iTunes telling me that "There's a problem with your iPhone"...
Then when I tried testing it out, it was very laggy the slide bar takes a couple of times to get my iPhone open up and the letter keys "I", "K" and "M" then keys "8", "@" and ' isn't working either...

I couldn't post anywhere so I thought to bump this one up since it's the same issue I am experiencing with my iPod Touch 2g 32gig. I decided to upgrade to iOS 4.0.2. After the new OS installed, an error message popped up on my laptop saying unable to restore my music (which was fine with me). I clicked on OK then the screen on the iPod Touch went black. I have been trying to rebooting it by using the suggested reboot/reset method: holding down power button and Home button at the same time for 10 seconds. I have tried simultaneously holding the two buttons for 10 seconds also. But neither worked for me. Right now I can't get it to turn on anymore.
One thing to add, my laptop no longer recognize the iPod Touch due to this issue.
    Please help suggest.
    Thanks in advance
