Several websites dont work in Firefox

We have a VDI image with XP and Firefox 22.
I building a new VDI image with XP and Firefox 22 (we had Firefox 10.0)
the problem is that several sites dont work in Firefox 22 (but Work in IE 9) and in the old Image with Firefox 10.
If we go to www.google.nl or www.miscrosoft.nl it worked oke.
but when i go to www.telegraaf.nl of www.nu.nl or www.tweakers.net i see a flash of the websites and then it closes Firefox whithout any error message.
When is Use Internet Explorer 9 it works oke, or when i use the old build with firefox 10.0 its also oke.
I have removed version 22 and installed it again with the same results (not showing the websites)
i tried version 19,20,21 and 22 but all with the same results.
I tried the solutions on your websites (and some other sites) but they dont solve the problem.
kind regards
Patrick

Since these are media sites, my initial suspicion is a Flash issue. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
By the way, have you looked at the ESR release of Firefox? http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/

  • After recent upgrades Firefox prevents links in several websites from working whilst there is no such problem with other browsers - help please.

    Since a recent upgrade of Firefox links in several websites no longer work. They used to be fine and I loved Firefox. The problems do not exist with other browsers e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome. More specifically, on talktalk.co.uk the links to news items do not work, nor do those to "My Account." On Barclays.co.uk the link to print my statement doesn't work - similarly on MBNA.com
    There are several suggested solutions around the internet but all are complex, none so far have worked and I don't see why I should need to carry out the suggested tweaks. Firefox used to be great - now it isn't. The problem seems to be with the upgrade. Please help me to get my Firefox to where it should be.

    Thank you but please don't waste any more time on this. I have done as I said I would - removed and re- installed Firefox, cleared all cookies and caches (CCleaner) - still doesn't work. As I said at the start, the problem is not confined to Talktalk - it applies to several other sites and links. The problem does not occur with Internet Explorer nor with Google Chrome so I am now using those.

  • How can I get interactive websites to work with Firefox?

    In the last week many of the interactive websites I've been using for years suddenly stopped working properly. However they do work with Internet Explorer. How can I get them to work again with Firefox?

    In what way are those websites not working?
    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

    Real Player dont work

    Try using Firefox 3.6 that works with RealPlayer. You could [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 download] and install the portable 3.6 version whilst keeping the Release firefox 5 for day to day work, with all your bookmarks and settings.
    You could also consider the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ compatibility reporter]

I do not currently use Real Player myself.

  • After latest FP update, why does my website only work in Firefox.

    I spent ages the other night trying to fix my website, as it suddenly stopped working in IE9. Tried all sorts of FP installs with no avail. Eventually went back to IE8, think 9 was the problem, and still my site won't work. Out of 4 browsers, IE8 (or 9), Opera, Safari and FF, only FF displays my site. If I understand correctly, FF doesn't use the same plugin as the rest. My question is, why does it only work in one browser, and not the others.
    If I use my HTC Desire, the site works fine too.
    Just to be clear though, this isn't just on one PC, it is on three. I have one running Win7 64-Bit, one running XP Pro, and one running Vista Business. None of them will display the site with IE8. Oh, and my WIn7 machine dual boots with XP Home, and that doesn't work either.
    Even my Vista Business machine, which actually hosts the site, won't display it properly.
    The site was created using SWF files built in Flash CS3, if that's relevant. One AS2 file, and 2 AS3 files on a page (usually)
    You can check the site here www[DOT]digital[DASH]essence[DOT]co[DOT]uk
    Sorry for the unfriendly address, I don't trust forums and website addresses.

    It's the forums that make the image tiny, if you do a right-click > copy shortcut, you can then paste it into a new tab, which will let you see the full size image. It's a 3360x1050 image, maybe a bit big for the forums.
    Basically though, the left image is IE, and that shows an error box. The centre image is Opera, and that shows an empty screen. The right image is FF, and that is how it should look.
    If it's a machine specific error, then I can't work out why it is on several machines in my house... very odd.

  • Several websites not working in any browser.

    I have a problem with browsing certain websites on my mac. They are mainly transport websites including nationalrail.co.uk, and tfl.gov.uk. After I put the details of my journey onto the journey planner and hit search, it times out.
    I have tried firefox, and opera as well as safari - still doesn't work. I've tried a different internet connection (a friends connection, an internet cafe, and a 3 mobile broadband connection), still doesn't work. My pc laptop using the same connection is able to use the sites fine. I used hidemyass.com a free proxy, on my mac and i was able to use the site properly.

    I'm aware of what my MAC address is, cheers though. I'm using the computer fine for the most part, in fact I am using it to type this message. Its connected through a router at home, whatever the basic 4 port netgear wireless one, but that is not the issue, as the same problem occurs with my 3 mobile wireless broadband, or at internet cafe's. Its an issue with the computer, no the network i'm connecting too!
    The list of sites that I normally use that aren't working at the moment now include:
    www.reed.co.uk
    www.concept2.com
    www.nationrail.co.uk
    To summarise, they don't work on Safari, Firefox or Opera, or within Parallels. They work fine on my pc laptop which connects to the same router. They don't work on any connection, including at home via wired or wireless conection, via an internet cafe across the road, or via my 3 mobile, 3g mobile broadband.
    If I use a free web proxy, I am able to access them.
    Any further suggestions? Or is it format time?

  • Trying to embed a wmv video in website to work with Firefox. Video works but the controls appear then disappear. How can I get the cotnrols to show and stay. Works in all other browsers.

    Here's the code I used:
    <pre><nowiki><p class="bodytext"><OBJECT id='mediaPlayer' width="320" height="240" class="imageright"

    standby='Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components...' type='application/x-oleobject'>
    <param name='fileName' value="video.wmv">
    <param name='animationatStart' value='true'>
    <param name='transparentatStart' value='true'>
    <param name='autoStart' value='true'>
    <param name='ShowControls' value='true'>
    <param name='ShowDisplay' value='false'>
    <param name='ShowStatusBar' value='false'>
    <param name='loop' value='false'>
    <EMBED type='application/x-mplayer2'
    pluginspage='http://microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/'
    id='mediaPlayer' name='mediaPlayer' displaysize='4' autosize='1'
    bgcolor='black' ShowControls='true' showtracker='1'
    ShowDisplay='1' showstatusbar='1' videoborder3d='0' width="320" height="240"
    src="video.wmv" autostart='1' designtimesp='5311' loop='0'>
    </EMBED></nowiki></pre>
    Also tried showcontrols=1

    I had this exact problem too. Unlike IE, firefox wasn't scaling the video to fit into the height and width I defined. As a result the controls were disappearing off the bottom.
    I found that by making the height of the window 50px larger than the videos native height, the controls were displayed permenantly. Since the other browsers scale the video to fit the window, this solution works for them all.

  • Safari and some websites dont work?

    Ok here, I sometimes want to visit a few websites that have people's profiles, such as the well known myspace. So when i enter myspace it seems to go fine untill i enter just a few people's profilesand then it looks like the page is loaded up, but it isn't, the little spin icon comes up and it just keeps going. Its not just with myspace though, there are a few pages i remember visiting that don't seem to want to come up. Please if anyone has experienced and fixed these problems please help me. Also maybe if someone knows how to use Spin Control to this advantage please tell me how to use it. Thank You

    Hi, Razvan, welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
    Myspace is well known for horrible web design by its members. Safari is one of the least forgiving of browsers when it comes to bad code. You might want to try using Firefox for going to Myspace or other sites that Safari chokes on. Some sites are programmed using proprietary Windows-only technologies and you will have problems with those sites no matter what browser you use on a Mac.
    I have just randomly gone to various pages in Myspace using both Safari and Firefox and nothing has frozen up on me, but some pages took a long time to load in both browsers. I did not happen on some of the more extreme user pages I have seen, but I did get to some which were highly "creative".

  • Java launcher dont work on firefox, does on safari WAssup with this ?

    Logicly if I uninstall Firefox and then reinstall it, the problem will go away. How do I do this please.?

    Actually, I have both plugins installed in Mac OS X 10.6, verified by entering '''about:plugins''' in the SeaMonkey 2 Location Bar (address bar)
    Java Embedding Plugin 0.9.7.3
    <br>File name: MRJPlugin.plugin
    Java Plug-In 2 for NPAPI Browsers
    <br>File name: JavaPlugin2_NPAPI.plugin
    This is a new iMac computer I just set up last week running OS X 10.6.4 with all current Apple Software Updates. I have SeaMonkey 2 installed on it, but not Firefox.
    I have Java 6 Update 20 ( 1.6.0_20 ) installed, verified by going to the test link in the KB article I posted above,
    http://javatester.org/version.html
    Java 1.6.0_20 (referred to as "Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2" on the page cor-el linked) should be available from Apple's [http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338 Software Update] feature.
    Another test link you can try (from about:plugins):
    http://browserspy.dk/java.php
    I think that the Java Embedding plugin is something that Mozilla includes with all its current browsers (Firefox, SeaMonkey, Camino) based on: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/OSX.html#Java
    ...which links to http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/

  • Can't load a page using Network Solutions website tool builder using Firefox 5.0.1; they recommend using 3.6! How do I get a copy of 3.6?

    I use Network Solution's Website Tool Builder to manage several websites. Since upgrading Firefox to 5.0.1, some of the pages no longer load and therefore I can't edit them. The sites come up okay in the browser, but not in NetSol's editor. When I called their tech support, they said it was a Firefox problem. They said I need to use Firefox 3.6...Is there a way for me to get a copy of that version of Firefox?

    I need to access Network Solutions website builder too. It isn't compatible with Internet Explorer v9, Chrome v13, or Firefox v5! I believe Firefox v6 is out now. This is a Network Solution's problem. What's involved in rolling back? Can you still get add-ons, plugins, and extensions for such an older version? You can't save your personal preferences can you?

  • PrevFrame() buttons in a swf file inserted in html not working in Firefox

    Hi!
    I have a very weird problem.
    I have created a photo gallery using AS3 in Flash CS5. I have used prevFrame() and nextFrame() actions for "previous photo" and "next photo" buttons as well as for "previous thumbnails" and "next thumbnails" buttons.
    All the buttons work fine when i run the swf files as well as when i run the swf files in Firefox 8.0 and IE9. However, once I insert this swf file into my html file using Dreamweaver CS5->Insert->Media->swf, the "previous" buttons dont work in Firefox 8.0! the previous image button works sometimes whereas the previous thumbnails button does not work at all!  They work fine in IE9. The next buttons also work fine in every browser. Heres my code:
    stop();
    thumbprev_btn.visible=false;
    next_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextimage);
    prev_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, previmage);
    thumbprev_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, prevthumbs);
    thumbnext_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextthumbs);
    function nextimage(event:MouseEvent):void
    if(mc_content.currentFrame==mc_content.totalFrames)
    mc_content.gotoAndStop(1);
    else
    mc_content.nextFrame();
    function previmage(event:MouseEvent):void
    if(mc_content.currentFrame==1)
    mc_content.gotoAndStop(mc_content.totalFrames);
    else
    mc_content.prevFrame();
    function nextthumbs(event:MouseEvent):void
    thumbprev_btn.visible=true;
    nextFrame();
    if(currentFrame==3)
    thumbnext_btn.visible=false;
    function prevthumbs(event:MouseEvent):void
    thumbnext_btn.visible=true;
    prevFrame();
    if(currentFrame==1)
    thumbprev_btn.visible=false;
    Please help.

    Thankyou Ned. The html file published by flash worked perfectly however the problem persisted even if i used this html file's code. But strangely, the problem disappeared after a few days! Now the original dreamweaver code is also working fine.

    Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.
    *[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
    If that works post back for further advice.
    Next step, if safe mode did not work.
    <u>First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously)</u><br /> that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.

    * this recent post [/questions/940399#answer-377134]

    <u>Second: try a New Profile</u>
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile
    * this will be an additional profile, it is still worth backing up any existing or currently working profile on a regular basis
    **[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
    * Until you are absolutely confident about the repercussions I suggest
    ** always use an empty folder when creating a new profile
    ** never delete or rename profiles, just disable or remove shortcuts
    ** after creating a new test profile open it and check for any addons or plugins that may be have been included by default
