Share Blu-ray Qmaster Error

Hi, I'm trying to export my first Blu-Ray today and I'm getting an error.
It says, " Share Failure: HOST (............local) Final Cut Pro generated an error or unexpectedly quit.
It has also said, "Share Failure. An Internal error occurred: Apple Qmaster File Agent not found." I've seen other similar post on using this feature but none about exporting and burning to BluRay DVD.

If you have a Quad or Octo core MacPro then here's how to set up a cluster:
http://www.fcsoutlet.com/home/StudioOutlet/Entries/2008/9/1_Virtual_Clusters_-Compressor.html
However the weird thing is I did my Blu-ray on a new MacBook Pro and the cluster was already set up - I didn't think you could cluster with just two cores.
It worked so I didn't look too closely into it.
Make sure you send rather than share.

  • Final Cut Pro 7 - Share - Blu-ray - ERROR

Fresh install of OS and FCS.
Ran a quick test to make sure this would work:
    File - Share - Blu-ray
Burned to disc then and there, and it was successful on an eleven second portion of the clip with an in and out point on the timeline.
The result was a beautiful Blu-ray quality 11 second clip recorded onto a DVD-RW, and it played back fine on a PS3. (AVCHD)
Extended the in and out point on the same clip in the same timeline in order to do a 20 minute version of the same thing. 2.5 hours later, it ejected my blank DVD I had already inserted, and asked me for a Dual Layer. I put one in, and it ejected that one, too. I kept trying different blank media and eventually it tells me:
There was an error burning your disc.
Operation could not be completed. (DSPPublishing error -1006.)
Hit "Try Again" and after a few minutes it says again,
Please insert the dual layer media to burn the
    disc "name-Blu-ray".
Seems to be an endless loop. It's reporting the final size will be only 1.6GB, so I don't know why it's asking for a DL disc. I spoke to Apple today and they told me this feature was not compatible with DL media at all anyway.
    If anyone can help...

    Update and WORKAROUND:
I have been experimenting and here's what I've learned:
I'm thinking the new "Create Disc" is the cause. The encoded files generated by FCP7 and Compressor 3.5 are fine. One whacky theory of mine is the programmers made a typo where if you encode a file like this over 1GB the burn fails. I don't know, I'm just saying, it's probably something simple like that.
I spoke to Apple, too. First I had someone tell me it failed because I tried a clip larger than 25 minutes, so I tried 20, and it failed, too, the same way. (I also previously encoded a 3.5 minute clip and it was excellent.) This person also told me Dual Layer was not supported at all. He was completely wrong.
I called back and this time it was a guy named Bob. If you ever call and speak to him, just do him a favor and hang up on yourself and save him the trouble. He won't let you speak to tell him the problem, and even if you are calm and try he's the type to tell you to "calm down, sir." He literally told me "there is no Blu-ray feature" in the new FCS. I merely asked if he had seen the new Compressor and he told me he knew everything, and asked me to have a nice day before hanging up on me. I know he's an anomaly at Apple.
I called back and spoke to someone else, and they gave me this link:
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/burn_br_mac_superdrivestone.html
After I read it I thought, "that's exactly what I did!" But it doesn't work and that's why I'm calling. (Even that article reports odd bugs.)
I called again, just because I know this needs to be fixed. Finally I spoke to someone who passed it along, and they are going to look into it. Get this - he checked the FCS manuals and discovered that it is indeed a feature that should work. Maybe they will name the patch after me.
So I also found a solution in the meantime. I've read hints here and there, but this is what has just worked for me and I wanted to verify before posting and sharing it:
Do the encode with Share in FCP7 or Compressor 3.5. Screw what anyone tells you about "maximum size" or 25 minutes or even what Compressor tells you regarding the number of minutes of footage the disc will hold. It's wrong. And, it will support Dual Layer discs. Go by the file size in the summary, and that's it. (I'm talking about AVCHD here, nothing else. It's the Blu-ray setting and you can change it to AVCHD to burn on a DVD-5 or DVD-9, in the manual it says "red laser media.")
If you want to burn to a DVD-5 stay under around 4GB for your video, but you can experiment with the details. You have a minimum of 5Mbps and a max of 17Mbps in a VBR. Seriously, use whatever you want, as long as it will fit on the media. This is also about H.264, not MPEG-2.
Export to files, and make sure you do NOT burn from FCP7 or Compressor 3.5, because that will cause the problem. It will even completely ruin your blank media, but you may think it's still blank because they will be detected as blank media, even in other systems. But they cannot be used, ever again, merely for trying with "Create Disc."
In the end you will have two files:
    movie.264
    movie.ac3
If you have two files with those extensions and they don't have the exact same file name, rename them, but keep the extensions.
I used Toast 9. Blu-ray Video option. Add - locate the two clips with the same names with .264 and .ac3. They go in, deal with the ugly menus, but make sure you do this:
    In the Encoding settings:
    Custom
    MPEG-4 AVC
Average Bit Rate: to whatever you used in Compressor or FCP7.
Maximum Bit Rate: may as well set it to 17 (we're trying not to re-encode the files)
Motion Est - Best - check the Half-PEL box
Reencoding - Never (that might make the above a waste, but it only took a couple seconds so stop complaining.) Set the rest to the same settings in the same way.
Choose your blank media and burn it, and few seconds later you can slap it into your PS3 and watch the creamy smooth silky beautiful encode right there.
I read somewhere it retains the FCP color settings and that's probably why doing it this way is a thousand times better than using Toast to encode (which skips really bad in my tests). I've also tried Encore and it was ugly and looked like it skipped frames.
Anyway, "Create Disc" may not work right now, but the encodes are amazing. I hope this helps others from banging their heads against the wall, and from calling Bob. I just burned a 2 hour movie onto a DVD and played it back on a PS3!

That's the error I got when Encore CS3 started to actually write to the bluray burner.
It's worked many other times but this time it did everything except the burn.
If I reboot or change blanks it doesn't seem to matter. When it gets to the stage of starting to write to the disc, I get the message above.
    Real helpful, right?
Hope there some "real" help here.

  • Blu ray burn error "please check boot volume space"

Hi, every time I use Compressor 3.5.3 to burn a BD (on LaCie BD drive), I get the error "Finishing: could not create the DVD (Please check to see if your boot volume has sufficient space)". However, my boot harddisk has over 200 GB free space.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
I have had exactly the same issue. I have got a work around (below) but have not got a fix if anyone can shed any light on it.
It seems to be something to do with the preferences getting messed up but for us it's only is an issue if we try to burn to a dual layer blu-ray. From what I understand when you start the share process it determines the capacity of the output media (blu-ray disk) and updates the preferences accordingly, the dual layer disk MUST be in the drive ready before starting the share process otherwise FC assumes it's a single layer. What seems to happen is FC doesn't update the preferences to dual layer which causes the burn process to bomb out as described. The workaround we have found is to nuke the preferences before we try and run a dual layer share.

  • Encore CS6 Blu-Ray "fatal error" during build

I have an external ble-ray drive that I just bought from OWC for my MacBook Pro. I have created a project for a wedding that has 3 sequences. Everything looks good, and the building/burning process gets about 90% done and I get this:
Blu-ray Error: "fatal error", Code: "6", Note: "Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 0.0000000 seconds - Failed to multiplex with maximum IG PTS: 54900000 (in 90kHz).
I am new with Adobe, especially Encore. This is my third try with the same message. I tried building to Blu-Ray disc as well as Blu-Ray image. I have several couples waiting on a Blu-Ray disc for their wedding video, and I can't produce one! So frustrated!
    Any help is MUCH appreciated!

This is actually a very interesting error message. There are 4 blu-ray authoring programs that can display a error message that contains "video buffer underflows" when authoring a Blu-Ray with H.264.
These 4 blu-ray authoring programs are: Sony DVD Architect Studio, Sony DVD Architect Pro, Adobe Encore and Sonic Senarist BD.
Another interesting thing is also that the complete error message that is displayed by both Sony DVD Architect Studio and Sony DVD Architect Pro is exactly identical, word for word, with the error message that is displayed by Sonic Senarist BD.

  • Blu-Ray: fatal error

I'm getting an error when trying burning a Blu-Ray Disc.
    Error:
Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6", Note:"
using Tyan S2696A2NRF with LG GBW-H10N and Pioneer BDR-202
    Any idea?

I'm having the problem again, and I even repair installed msxml 6.0. I think the problem may be related to the use of 29.97i format this time. My successful build last month was a 24p video.
I am taking 30p video and rendering it as 29.97i for Blu-print. I also am using one simple menu. Maybe I'll drop the menu and see if the build will complete. Could be a problem with the menu or the video being interlaced.

  • Blu-ray Fatal Error Code 6: Video Bitrate too High?

So I get this error every time I try to encode my Blu-ray disc. I am assuming that the bit rate I used to encode from Premiere was too high. Am I correct? If so, does this mean that I need to re-encode all of my assets at a lower bit rate before bringing them into Encore? Or is it some other issue? I did read all previous posts on this topic and couldn't really find an answer.
    Thanks for any help.

    Stan,
I don't fully understand either of your questions, but I am sure I can provide an answer that you will understand so here goes.
My audio files in Encore are actually wav files, but in my the root project folder they are ac3. Is ac3 an audio codec or something? I don't understand this. I guess they are session files, whatever that is... And why does this matter?
And what do you mean that Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder should not allow any peaks. Do you mean bit rate peaks?
And my only worry with making a modest drop in the bit rate is the fact that I have to render out almost 20 files before I can test out my Bluray burn again. This obviously takes some time to do and if it ends up not working it can be quite frustrating.
Thanks again for all of the help Stan. Hopefully I can fix it by just adjusting the bit rate.

Try Save As and rename the file. Can you export the file now as a different format?
I'm guessing it's a corrupt file or it's written on bad blocks on your drive resulting in problems.
    Run Repair Permissions:
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
    2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
    3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
    4. Click the repair permissions button.
To Repair your drive, you have to boot from another device.
Option 1) If you have your Install CD for Snow Leopard you can boot from the CD to run Repair Drive.
Option 2)  If you have a clone backup, you can boot from the clone and run Repair Drive.

  • Blu-Ray "device error"code 3 note

Im getting this error on almost every progect I do I
Remove the all the files from
    /Volumes/Mac HD1/Adobe Encore Projects/BD/AuthorScriptHDMVSessions/
And sometimes this works this time it is not.Ive been searching the web on this and its been going on since CS3
1.How do I get this to work?
2.Why has this error been going on for so long (3 versions) ?
IM using Encore CS5 Mac Pro
    Thanks
This photo is from a different post that had the same issue

The Error code 3 comes mainly in two scenarios:
    1. When the AuthorScriptHDMVSessions files gets corrupted and
    2. When either your Blu ray disc or the burner is damaged.
This device error is most probabily because of your damaged disc.
    Try using new BD.
    Best of luck.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

This may (or may not) be a separate issue – crashing rather than the DSP Publishing error.
Two suggestions – both relying on Digital Rebellion.
First use their Preference Manager to trash your preferences. Most of the crashes I've experienced over the past year of using FCPX have been remedied by trashing pref files.
Second, DR has a suite of utility apps called Pro Maintenance Tools. PMT has a crash analyzer that will provide both diagnostic info and recommendations. The suite isn't cheap, but there is a trial version you can download to evaluate.

  • Trouble burning Blu-ray or disc image using Share

I have a project I have tried to burn to a Blu-Ray disc and to the hard drive as a disc image using Share>Blu-ray. I have burned successfully before to the same Blu-ray burner with other projects. But now when trying to burn a disc I get this error after a day of transcoding:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (DSPPublishing error -1024.)
When I try to save it as a disc image it tells me there is not enough space on the disc even though there is over a Terabyte empty. The project is estimated as 21.6 gig so I know it should fit on the 25 gig bluray and of course on the hard drive. Trashing prefs did not work either. This is a very frustrating process as each attempt takes a day to transcode before the error pops up and you have to start all over again.
    I am using
    iMac (27-inch, Late 2009)
    16 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    FCP X 10.0.6
    OS X 10.8.2

This is the error message I get. It's after FCP X is done with making the BMV folder and runs that disc burner app. There is about 850 gigs on the drive I want to save the disc image to, lots of space.
I thought maybe the drive the events was on was affecting this process, because it was full. I cleared out about 30 gigs and still got this message.
I never had any problems creating a Blu-ray disc image before. That's the optimcal way, IMHO, because you can burn the BD in Toast as the disc image and Toast won't reencode or do anything, it just burns the disc image and the disc has played on ever Blu-ray player I've tried it on.
    Anyone have any more ideas?
    Thanks

  • FCP only shares to Blu-ray at 720p

I am trying to make a blu-ray disk of high school basketball using Final Cut Pro 10.1. the video is recorded with a Panasonic HDC-TM700 shooting 1080p at 60fps.  During editing FCP X shows both the resolution and the frame rate to be that of the imported clips.  However, when I choose the 'Share - Blu-Ray' option the resolution becomes 1280X720p.  I have not been able to find any way to change the settings in a preference pane.  I have tried this on a Hackintosh i7 running Snow Leopard and FCP 10.0.08 as well as a MBPro 15"Retina running FCP 10.1.  Any help?

I can't find a way to change settings either.  A work around is to export a Master file.  Then bring that into Compressor.  Apply Blu-ray settings there.  Highlight the blu-ray video file and in the inspector window change the settings to what you desire.
