Shared album shows no photos

I want some photos which my husband downloaded from his iPhone into his iPhoto. He went into Preferences and said Share entire library. When I open my iPhoto and click on his library, it shows no photos.????

What version of iPhoto do each of you have?
Are both of you on OSX 10.6.8?

  • Shared Photostream albums show no photos iPhoto 9.5 Mavericks

I upgraded to Mavericks 10.9 and in iPhoto 9.5 the shared streams are showing the events but there are no photos contained within. I've checked the iCloud preferences in stystem preferences and checked the iPhoto preferences and everything seems to be turned on for iCloud streams just really puzzled as to why no images are showing. My main stream shows all photos taken and stored in my camera roll, this is a shared streams issue it seems.

Yeah - you USED to be able to just copy from the stream.  Now you have to take several more steps, clicks to do the same thing.  PITA.

  • Photo Sharing not showing all photos via Apple TV 3rd Gen

    Hi
Have Apple TV, 3rd gen, latest update of the software. Running 10.8.5 on a mid 2009 MacBookPro. When I select a few smart albums from iPhoto 09 (v. 8.1.2) and then select those albums to share/stream to my Apple TV via iTunes (11.1.3) only a few of the photos show up; in the 3 albums I have selected to share/stream there are in excess of 500 photos. However, when I have my photos selected as the slideshow/screensaver in my Apple TV, only a few photos show up, less than 100, and then the slide show starts to repeat itself.
Any ideas why it's not showing every photo in the albums I have selected to stream/share?
    Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
    David

Are you mixing slideshows and screen savers up, screen savers won't show all the photos in a large collection.

  • Individual Albums show "0" photos

My external Hard Drive was corrupted and fortunately all photos are backed up on another external drive.  I re-partitioned the working drive, renamed it (per La Cie's recommendation) and have begun copying photos back to working drive.  However, when I checked LR to see if all was working, the Grid opened fine but I saw the "?" label.  I cliked it, navigated to the external hard drive where the photos are stored, chose the photo and checked the box to look for all photos around it.  After that the view at the grid level shows "0" photos and now no photo thumbnails are visible.  Verified all photos are contained in external drive.  Could the re-naming have caused the issue?

If you just wish to relocate files or folders that are now on a different drive because you have lost the originals but have back up copies, then just right click on the highest level folder and select relocate. If your backups were kept in the same folder structure as the originals this is a very quick and easy process.
If you have renamed the original files outside or LR these will be seen as new files by LR and LR will not update the catalog.

  • Photos Album shows no photos

My album 'Photos' (directly under 'Projects') should show all the photos in my library, but it's completely blank.
I have reinstalled Aperture 3 but this didn't solve the problem. Some of the folders under PROJECTS & ALBUMS also appeared empty. On creating duplicate folders and moving the contents of the 'invisible' folders into them, the contents became visible again, with the top folder marked.
All my images are referenced on an external drive. The library file is on the iMac drive. Any ideas what might be happening here?

    Frank,
    Problem solved!
Removing the file 'com.Apple.Aperture.plist' had no effect. The procedure you described in the linked thread did. i. e.
+Select any of your smart albums does't mater which. Click the magnifying glass to open the search HUD. Now leaving that HUD open click on the Photos icon in the Library.+
+Clear any settings and set the HUD to show all your images. Close the HUD you should be back to normal.+
Then I put back the original plist file and it still worked.
    Many many thanks

  • HT201077 I cannot connect to my shared albums or my photostream(only 25 pictures downloaded) on Photos app for Yosemite.  I have v10.10.3 on a 2010 iMac.  Thanks.

I cannot connect to my shared albums or my photo stream on Photos app in Yosemite.  I'm running v10.10.3 on a 2010 iMac.  Please help.

I have a similar problem. I have a Mac Mini Server hooked up to my TV. I want to use Screen Sharing to control it from other Macs in my house. None of my other computers can connect to it with Screen Sharing though. It works fine over any other VNC client, from any other computer, and on my iPod and iPhone. I've tried 4 different Macs in my house and not can access it with the built in screen sharing. Any ideas?

  • Sharing albums on photostream no settings and can't delete albums?

We updated iOS 6 yesterday onto our iPhone 4S's and were playing with the new photo stream change where you can share your pictures with another apple id iOS user.  There were two things that were problematic - we can't seem to delete a shared album, only the photos within, and we can't change the notification sound to turn it off.  My hubby uses his phone as his alarm and my father was making comments on the photos late at night and we couldn't turn off the sound.  Funny, but annoying since my hubby can't turn off his sounds because he needs to hear his alarm.
Is this something Apple will need to fix, or is there a way to delete a shared album or turn off the notification sounds related to photostream sharing?
Also where can you get info about how the sharing impacts memory space?  What size are the photos when they are sent/received through photostream?  If you're device has no memory, will the photo still come through?
    Thanks!

I discovered that you can delete the album after all.  On the shared albums page you need to swipe right and then left in one motion, then it takes you to a page where you can add another subscriber and you can delete the album.  That solves one of the questions - although adding an "edit" button would be a better way!
Still need to figure out how to turn off the notification sounds related to shared albums, if anyone knows.

  • Delete from Camera Roll vs iCloud shared album

    Hi everyone,
I am trying to figure out whether or not photos that I delete from my Camera Roll (to free up space) will also be deleted from Shared Albums (via iCloud Photo Sharing) with family members.
    Looking forward to your responses.
    Freerk

    Hi iFredo,
Pictures shared with a Share Photo Stream are not deleted by deleting them from your camera roll on your device. They must be deleted from the stream manually. See this article -
    iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Problems with shared albums

I had problem with some albums shared from other person: I did see the name of the album, but I didn't see photos.
So I decided to turn off and on the option "Condivisione foto" intending to reset the sharing system, but I lost all shared albums except "Streaming photo"
What can I do to see again my shared albums (some shared by me and some shared by others)?
    OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 - iPhoto 9.6
    Thanks

According to the hover over on the double arrow it indicates "Backup/Synchronization Pending".  I rebooted the machine and the photoshop startup screen got stuck on the logging in photoshop.com.  I launched Elements organizer and went to preferences and reset my userid and password (they haven't changed I just re-typed them).  It then logged in and the sync started to work.  So it was apparently not logged into photoshop.com?  It would be better if it told me that it was having problems accessing photoshop.com or something like that.

  • Photos app doesn't show my shared albums and activity

I've just installed the new Photos App and so far so good, until I try the shared tab.
    cleanest place on my Mac.
I can still access it from iPhone but now I'm not sure whats going on.
is my iPhone late in cache?
is my Photos Mac going to overwrite my shared configurations / subscriptions, have it done it already?
is it just a bug ?
anybody else got the same issues?
    I just hope not.

What are your Preference Settings in Photos?
Is the Photos Library you are using enabled as System Photos Library in the Photos Preferences > General?
Is iCloud enabled in the Photos Preferences > iCloud? And also My Photo Stream and iCloud Photo Sharing?
And is the Shared Section of the Sidebar visible? It may be hidden using the invisible Show/Hide control to the right of the title "Shared"
If all settings are right, but still no Shared albums visible, disable  the shared streams in the System Preferences > iCloud > Photos > Options, then restart the Mac, and enable them again in the System Preferences and in Photos Preferences iCloud.
It may take a few hours for the streams to populate again after resetting them this way.

  • IPhoto doesn't show photos from shared albums

I enter iPhoto and I can see the folders shared with me .....however no photos are inside these folders.
One shared album was created by me via my iphone and shared with 20 people. I can see the photos on the phone and my ipad without issues but not on my MBP. MBP is running Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6.
Someone shared an album with me yesterday. Same thing. I can see the pics on both iphone and ipad but not on MBP. I can see the title of the album but it simply says "No Photos".
This is very weird. Please post if you know the answer to this issue.

I would turn off the iPhoto iCloud options and go to the system preferences and log out of iCloud - then log back in and turn the iPhoto options back on to refresh everything

  • Toolbar doesn't have option: "Photos, Shared, Albums, Projects"

The guide says there's supposed to be four options at the top of the toolbar:
    But I don't have them:
I'm using Yosemite 10.10.3, BUT I originally installed it as part of the public beta that came with Photos.  However, I have since updated to the public non-beta version.  Could this be the problem?

The guide says there's supposed to be four options at the top of the toolbar:
If you have the sidebar open you will see the Shared - Albums - Projects in the sidebar.
There are hidden Show/Hide controls to the right of the section titles, so you can show or hide them, if you hover the pointer to the right of the titles.

  • Photos, AppleTV, and shared Album

I'm going mad in trying to understand how the Apple engineers figured out the Photos and iCloud services.
I've just imported my entire Aperture Library into Photos, ok, no problems at all, i have the same project as i used to have in Aperture.
Uploaded on iCloud and  updated my iPhone, nice, up to now all went smooth.
Now, let's try to see some pics on the AppleTV after the update of the ATV software..... well, what is that?
There are 2 places where to look at photos? One is the "App" iCloud Photos located in the home page of the ATV, and here i can see  in "My Photo Stream" section just 372 pictures of my 12.000+.
Pictures are not organised in any of the project in the Photos App on the mac, is a complete mess.
The second place is inside "Computer"-->"Photos" and is the classic view where i have all the albums messed up and not organized as inside Photos. So, why ATV has not been updated with the new iCloud logic for viewing photos? At the moment the ATV is totally useless....
    2) sharing an album is taking AGES and i'm not even able to:
2a) see it on the ATV
2b) delete the sharing. Should i delete the entire album???
    3) with Photos is no more possibile to add GPS tag to the pictures.... , and this is "progress" for Apple?!?
    4) After the update of the ATV software is no more possible to play a slideshow of an album listening a soundtrack in the background.
I need help in understanding what i can do to sort out such these problems.....
    Thanks

I stream from iTunes, not sync.
I guess I cannot use shared photos in the screen saver?
Correct, they need to be synced
Is it because I'm streaming and not syncing that I can't show "my" photos? If so, can I first sync to establish a library of "my" photos, then switch to streaming without losing the sync'd photos? (I suspect not).
Sorry if its a dumb question. Thanks for help.
Just set up a custom sync and only select only photos to sync - i.e. don't sync movies or tv shows etc, they will stream just the same.
The sync library (assuming tat's how it's set up) streams anything bot synced.

  • Photostream shares photos from shared albums to my computer, but "My Photostream" on my computer is empty. How can I get my photos to upload to my computer?

I have an iPhone 6 now, but I had an iPhone 5s previously. My Photostream stopped uploading pictures to my computer in November, 2013. If I create a shared album on my phone, it uploads to my PC, but "My Photostream" does not update. I've reset settings on the phone, turned sharing on and off, restarted my phone, updated operating systems, paid for more storage on iCloud.

    Greetings monienon,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have your My Photo Stream activated on your iPhone but nothing is showing in My Photo Stream in iPhoto. In this situation, I would recommend working through the suggested troubleshooting steps for this situation located in the attached article.
Get help using My Photo Stream - Apple Support
I don't see any photos in the My Photo Stream view of iPhoto or Aperture.
Make sure your Mac has an active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. If you can't connect to the Internet, updates to My Photo Stream won't appear in iPhoto or Aperture. You can use these steps to troubleshoot your Internet connection on your Mac.
From your Mac, choose System Preferences > iCloud.
Make sure that the Photo Stream checkbox is selected and you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
Open iPhoto or Aperture, then choose Preferences > iCloud (or Photo Stream).
If you're using iPhoto 9.4 or later or Aperture 3.4 or later, make sure that My Photo Stream is selected. If you want all new photos that you upload to your iPhoto or Aperture library to upload to My Photo Stream, select Automatic Upload.
If you're using iPhoto 9.2.2 through 9.3.2, or Aperture 3.2.3 through 3.3.2, select Enable Photo Stream and Automatic Import.
    Cheers,
    Joe
