Sharepoint 2007 as Content repository for KM

Hello
Any one know if it is possible to define Sharepoint as repository for KM (EP7 SP10)?
TNX
Erez

Hi Erez,
I am not sure about the interoperability between Sharepoint 2007 and EP7 SP10. But there is a document about the interoperability of older versions. Find it <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9e891378-0601-0010-5386-a3387f1b161b">here</a>.
Basically, SAP Knowledge Management can be used as a WebDAV server or a WebDAV client. In a scenario as a WebDAV client, SAP KM provides an access to documents stored on other WebDAV-enabled servers. For this purpose, you use the WebDAV repository
manager.
The setting up the access to documents in SharePoint Document Libraries does not dif-
fer from the default procedure and comprises following steps:
     •  Define an HTTP system in the CM system landscape.
     •  Create a cache for the WebDAV repository manager.
     •  Configure the repository manager parameters for the WebDAV repository man-
        ager.
That should still work for the new versions of Sharepoint and EP.
Hope I could help!
Best regards,
Martin

  • Sharepoint 2007 as content server for DMS?

    Hi,
Knowing Sharepoint 2003 is not able to act as DMS content server.
Does any know if the new Sharepoint 2007 has this function to act as DMS content server?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ronald

    Hi Espen,
iam also coming across the same requirement where in client is already using SharePoint as a common document Managing software,
in your Case as You have solved the Problem, did you buy a new server and installed content servewr in it, and integrate it to Share Point server?
or did you use the Same existing  share point server to install content server on it,
i guess in that case there will be duplication of all the Original files,
one, the original file is Available in the Share Point server. and Secondly, the same original file is checked in into the storage catagories if the same share Point server is defined as Storage medium for SAP DMS, ie same Share Point server acting as Content or Archive server.
please help me in Understanding the things clear iam little bit confused,
Alternatively to access the Documents in the Share Point server and Store the same original File in the Content server (or it can be the same SharePoint Server acting as Content server(installing the content server CD on the Share Point server)). can we go to create 2 Datacarrier and Datacarrier types,
one to Bring the original document from the share point server to the DeskTop of the User.
second to check in the Same document through SAP transaction CV01N, here again should we define another Data Carrier and Data Carrier type, (like the share Point server or Content server used again to check in the original Through SAP DMS CV01N,
iam  confused as i have only worked on storing external files which is in the Frontend system in to an Content server only,
    Points for Sure,
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Changing content repository for external archiving:

Recently my company is in the process of transitioning from one document archiving server to another.  We configured a new content repository in our system, and then I used transaction OACT to change the content repository for the category of documents that I am working with.
This appeared to work well on development,  old documents on the server A were still accessible,  newly created documents were archiving succesfully to server B.
The problem arose when I attempted to transport my change to the QA server.  It seems that when a change to a content repository field is made in transaction OACT the transports do not contain a change to that field, so I cannot change it in QA.
The following entries are created in my transport:
    IMG Activity  Define Content Categories
         View Maintenance: Data
             V_SDOKSTCA
                 SDOKSTCAE
                 SDOKSTCAT
                 SDOKSTCDSP
I can change the Document Area,  but the content repository field is not included in the transport.  Has anyone else run into this when migrating between archving servers?

It seems that it isn't a good idea to change the content repository for this type of object once a system has gone live.  I'm planning to have all of the documents previously archived migrated to the new server and once that occurs I'll edit this field directly in production...
If anyone has a better suggestion please let me know.

  • IBM FileNet instead of UCM as default content repository for WebCenter

    Hi,
Appreciate if anyone can clarify the following queries:
Is it possible to replace UCM with IBM FileNet as the default (primary) content repository of Oracle WebCenter?
Is JSR 227 adapter available for FileNet to connect it to WebCenter (as Secondary, NOT as primary content repository)?
    regards
    Rafique

    useful links:
UCM replacement with IBM File net
Using IBM FileNet instead of UCM
    From the installation document:
The Documents service provides content management and storage capabilities for WebCenter applications. To use the Documents service, you must have a content repository > at the back end that contains the documents you want to manage. Oracle WebCenter supports content integration with the following external repositories:
    Oracle Content Server
    Oracle Portal 11g
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 Service Pack 2
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) version 3 Service Pack 2I know that the marketing materials show a Documentum adaptor, but I don't believe that's been created yet. I believe that it's a legacy BEA adaptor that hasn't been officially released for WC yet.

  • Linking DMS to a Content Repository for Recipe Management

How do I link a document type to a content repository?
This is for Recipe Management. When I look in DC10 I can see that there is a document type of RMS for Recipe Management.
I assume this means Recipe Management is connected toDMS
I have created a content repository ZRM using OAC0.
How do I make the link between the document type RMS in DMS and the content repository ZRM?

Thanks for the reply but it isn't really what I was after.
I am only the basis guy so I am not sure of the application but my expectation is that users will save a document with a document type of RMS. This document should be saved to a Content Repository
What you have described is how to save a type of document such as MS Word to a particular repository. I was hoping that Recipe Management documents (possibly MS Word, possibly not) would go to a Recipe Management Repository.
There still might be the possibility that documents (possibly MS Word) for other projects e.g. packaging could be written to a different repository.
What I am hoping for is a link from the document type RMS in DC10 to the Content Repository defined in OAC0.
I have a suspicion this is via the category defined by OACT.
The link from SAP DMS to Content Repository seems fundamental to me. I am surprised no one has the answer
...or perhaps I have completely missed the point?

  • SharePoint 2007 Old Content

We have recently removed our SharePoint 2007 server from our production environment since it's no longer being used. It seems though, I need to copy some documents over from this server that are missing on the new SharePoint site.  What is the
best way to access the content in SharePoint 2007 which is no longer on the network, without brining it back to the production environment?
I did try localhost in the browser on the local server (it's a Windows 2003 server) without any luck.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    James

    Hello,
If you have removed the server then only content DB can help you to get the documents. If you have back up of that site content DB then create a new web application in any SP server and attach the old content DB to new web app. Then you can copy the site
    contents.
As per my knowledge there is no other way.

  • Configuring content repository for project archiving

    Hi Experts,
Self have done the below steps for archiving projects.
    1) Created a project, released it and set the status DLFL and DLT for the project through CN80.
    2) For archving created the variant and saved it. For start date gave as immediate. For spool parameter selcted on printer and saved it.
    3) In customizing Maintained the created variant as test mode variant and production mode variant. Selected the delete jobs as "Start Automatically". In "Place file in storage system' self have given the content repository created in Knowledge management in Define content repository. The content repository which i created was not available in F4 but just gave the name which i created. "Store before deleting check box" was checked and "Delete program reads from storage system" was also checked and then the data's are saved.
    4) When i executed the variant, archiving was happening properly but storage was not successful. I was also able to access the project in CJ20N
    5) In retreival of CN80 i was able to retreive the archived project as well when i give the archive version number, hence self think archving has happened properly.
My confusion is when i check "From database" check box and give the project in retreival then also the project is getting retreived. Self feel the project must not be available in physical database.
    Help me in below points
    1) Will the project be read only in CJ20n when the project is archived?
    2) Steps to configure storage system in archving projects.
    3) Do i need to do anything more than the stpes specified above.
    Thanks,
    Visvesh

    Hello Swarna,
I will always prefer to use a different content repository rather than going with other repository which is already in use. This will help in management of post archive pdf documents effectively in content server as well as legal requirement management.
If one file size is 95 MB then if system takes 04secs to archive then it is very good response.
I am thinking that you wanted to mention it as 0.95MB but by mistake u mentioned as 95MB.
If it is 95MB then for archiving 10000 pdf documents it will require full day.
However for 0.95MB size of pdf file archiving i would suggest to go with saparate content repository.
Hope this answer will help you to take up further decisions.

  • Single content repository for multiple archiving objects?

We have three archiving objects that the business has basically set the same retention period for all of them (April 1: archive previous year (current-1), delete archived data from the year before (current-2)). Rather than have three separate repositories, would it be a good practice to place these three (and any other that meet the criteria) into the same repository making the management of these simpler (deleting from IXOS)?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
COntent repository can be single or multiple. It depends on the clients requirements.
How ever you can recommend to your client based on the following best practices :\
    (1) COntent repositories can be created and allocated based on the archive object. This will help the client to maintain the archive files and also use them at a later stage for retrieval/audit or any other purpose.
    (2) Content repositories can also be created and allocated based on the retention time .
    (3) Single content rep for multiple objects is technically possible but this is not a good approach. If this is done, then utmost care needs to be taken during the Archive file naming convention ( while archiving the data for a particular object) . Such a naming convention would reduce the hassels of getting the archived files mixing up. this will also help you to better manage the archive files of different objects in a single content rep.
DIfferent clients may use any of the approact based on their records management strategy.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Content Repository for Image Archiving

    Hello Experts,
We designed a Report to archive  PDF files . Each file size is about 95 MB. We are planning to archive  10000 / Day .
In the Program we made use of some standard Archiving Functions to archive and to update in the Archive Link Tables.
In the Dev system it took 1 second for each file  to archive.
In Test system It has taken 4 seconds for one PDf file.
Since the Content Repository I used in the Test system is being used by many Data and Document Archiving Objects,  I changed the  Document type to get linked to another Content Repository.  Then it took 1 second to archive One file.
Do we need to have separate a CREP for this ?.  Does  the CREP has  any impact in the  archival  and Retrieval  of Documents?.
    Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Content Repository for SAP Digital Personnel Files

    Hi,
I am trying to configure and use SAP DPF to store employee's certifications and document.  I had created record model and manage to create Personnel Records with tcode SRMRECORDSCREATE.
I am now trying to find out where the document loaded is stored in the SAP standard configuration.  I searched from online help and documentation, it mentioned that it is based on the content repository that it is set.  However, i couldn't find the standard Content Repository that SAP DPF is using.
I need to store the document in the external content server.
    Thanks

    Hi Andy,
I could not find content repository standard 'ASR_DPF' in tcode OAC0.

  • SharePoint 2007 Content deployment Error: 'A folder with the name already exists.

Hi, In SharePoint 2007 one Content deployment job is failed with below error:
Content deployment job 'Remote import job for job with sourceID = some id' failed. The exception thrown was 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException' : 'A folder with the name PublishingImages/AEI-2014/Blue already exists.'
From last 3 days I am getting this error and previously this Job was running without any Error.
In Import Log file getting message: "FatalError: A folder with the name PublishingImages/sg-2015/yellow already exists."
Please tell me how to resolve the issue.

    Hello,
It seems same folder exist in destination server that's why job is failing. You need to check destination server and remove the same name/GUID from site then try again.
See this technet for more info: (see "Conflicting content on source and destination" section)

  • Using a single Content server for DMS and also for Archive link documents

    Hi,
We have Planned for a single content server for managing the documents in DMS, parallelly as DMS Standard SAP objects are not available for all SAP transactions, i have proposed for making use of SAP Archivelink funtionality to maintain the documentations where Std SAP DMS does not provide a Solution.
    so here the question is
can a single content server be used as a content repository for Both DMS and archivelink,
can any one having done this pls state if it is possible to create different or Many Content repositories for DMS, Archive link in the same server,
is this a virtual creation or can we assign each repository a specific storage space which it should not exceed.
    Thanks and regards
    Sathish

    Hi sathish,
-- Through the ArchiveLink docuemnt Management interface, an SAP sytem can use various content servers as storage media. similarly, one contnent server can be used by multiple SAP systems.
-- A Content server always has a single database assigned to it. A database can therefore be used by only one content server.
-- A databse is split into as many repositories as necessary. The design of the repository is mapped in the SAP system.A repository contains documents.
Depending on your requirements,(if u have limited documents or with low requirements)  you can use the same content server for both DMS and Archivelink.
The number of documents stored on the content server is limited only by the size of the database.
Its better to have an external content server for archiving purpose, if your database size is increasing. Since the archiving systems storage is not dependent on the database.
U can also refer to the below thread :

  • Setup 10.3 portal to connect to 8.1 content repository

    Hello,
I am wondering, can I use the existing 8.1 WLP content repository as a third-party content repository for 10.3 WLP Virtual Content Repository (VCR)? Do I have to create the SPI implementation on the 10.3 side in order to connect to the 8.1 WLP content repository? Have anyone done something similar to this situation?
Or is it possible to setup the 10.3 WLP VCR to connect to the 8.1 WLP content repository directly?
    Thanks!

    Hi Brad,
I only upgrade a subset of our 8.1 portal application to 10.3. I still need the existing 8.1 repository for some of the 8.1 portal applications.
I can upgrade and copy the entire 8.1 content repository to a new 10.3 content repository, then I will have two content repositories to maintain. Is there another way beside upgrading the entire 8.1 repository to 10.3?
    Thanks!

  • Master Page Gallery contents renders in old Sharepoint 2007 style after upgrade

I have a site collection that is still rendering the Master Page Gallery items in the Sharepoint 2007 style instead of the Sharepoint 2013 style, and I can't pinpoint where this is coming from.  I'm sure it's from a resource that was customized some
time before our Sharepoint 2010 upgrade, preventing the view from upgrading properly at this point.  I'm looking for advice on where to look to get to the root of this issue.
Possibly other libraries are affected, but it is most apparent in the Master Page Gallery.
Here's what the items should look like in Sharepoint 2013.  In html, the item name column dropdown menus are populated with div elements, and it has a blue background dropdown arrow when hovering over it.
Here's what this site collection renders.  In html, the item name column dropdown menus are populated using table elements, and it has a solid border with a different dropdown arrow when hovering over it.
Functionality wise, this is preventing master pages and page layouts from being checked in and checked out and approved from this view.  I'm only able to do these changes using the sitemanager page for this site collection right now.
    Other information:
    - There are other site collections and web applications in this same farm that are not affected, so I don't believe it is a modification made in the hive files
    - I've tried making new views of the master page gallery with no success
    - I've compared the contents of the AllItems.aspx form in this collection with the AllItems.aspx in a working collection and could not find any difference.
    - I suspected that the ListViewWebPart is not current, but I can't find where I can check on this and possibly reset it to site definition.  I reviewed all webparts in the _catalogs\wp gallery but can't find a webpart in there that is named ListViewWebPart.
So, the million dollar question is where else should I be checking to get to the bottom of this?  Thanks!

    Hi Brad ,
For your issue, you can view the Upgrade Status page in Site Settings to verify that upgrade has succeeded for a site collection.
To view upgrade status in Site Settings
1.Verify that the user account that performs this procedure is a site collection administrator.
2.On the Site Settings page for the site collection, in the Site Collection Administration section, click Site collection upgrade.
3.On the Site Collection Upgrade page, click Review Site Collection Upgrade Status.
4.The Upgrade Status page for the site collection is displayed.
    For more information, see
Manage site collection upgrades to SharePoint 2013
Also you can  go to _layouts/15/reghost.aspx (Site Settings -> Site Actions -> Reset to site definition) and reset the master page gallery to site definition version.
