SharePoint Product configuration wizard cannot Register "Document conversion Launcher Server"

Each time I run the SharePoint configuration wizard, it stop at the following step:-
It will mentioned that it install the document conversion service, but while registering it , the wizard will stop and it will raise a timeout exception.
Also when I tried to start the Document conversion related services from central administration, it showed that they are stopped and I cannot start them:-
Can anyone advice about this problem ?
Thanks

    A little background information.  I am simply trying to create a SharePoint Server on my laptop.  I utilized the Microsoft Hyper-V Manager

    However, when I run the SharePoint Products Configuration i get a failure at step 10 of 10.  I am a SharePoint developer and power user not an

    try to run the below command on all server in the farm and then run the config wizard
    Get-SPProduct -Local
    Above command basically update the product information into the configuration database. Read this blog from the Trevor.

  • Service Pack 2 Update - Configuration Failed in Step 5:Products Configuration Wizard (Login Failed)

    THIS IS FOR THE TEST ENVIRONMENT, THERE IS ONLY ONE SP SERVER/ONE SQL SERVER
    The previous admin before me had already installed OWA Sp2/September 2014 CU on this box without Project Server Sp2 being installed along with it. I am now just updating Project Server to Service Pack 2. I downloaded the file from Microsoft, and installed
    the files on the box. I now am running the Products Configuration Wizard to complete the update.
    note: the config database version is 14.0.7132.5000 (because of the OWA Sp2
    and September cumulative update installed, it does not say Service Pack 2 anywhere)
    Please see photos to see the error I am getting. I cannot access the central administration anymore, it is giving me a HTTP Error 503. I need to fix this ASAP! I have tried using another account that should have had permissions but still no dice.

    Build number hasn't changed since I updated to Sp2. It still is 14.0.7132.5000. Is this supposed to be this way?
    Previous admin before me had:

    14.0.7015.1000
    Installed
     on all languages (arabic, english, french, german, russian, spanish) but we do not use any of them here.

  • Re-Installing SharePoint Foundation 2010 - Product Configuration Wizard Error

    So i recently had to start fresh on my SharePoint development server. My database was left remaining on a different server during this process.
    So after re-installing SharePoint 2010, I told it to connect to an existing server farm, and then put my database server name in, from which it was able to retrieve the database name. After this step though i ran into my problems... For some reason it is
    saying i don't have the appropriate software installed to finish the Configuration Wizard, when i know i have it.
    What can I do to fix this problem?

    Hi Zipatones,
    Honestly, it is difficult to diagnose the cause of your issue since there could be several reasons. The best I can do is give you several options one of which might be the solution.
    1) During the configuration I would let SharePoint setup a new Config database. Then setup a new web application with the same URL as your original one. Instead of creating a site collection, detach that database and attach your original database.
    2) Do the same for the service applications. Setup new service applications and then detach and attach the original databases. I highly recommend you use powershell for service apps since you need to find the guids of both the application and its proxy.
    3) You need to make sure that the new SharePoint app server has the same version of updates (such as hotfixes) installed on your previous farm.
    Hope these recommendations help.

  • The Document Conversions Launcher Service status on a SharePoint Server 2013 Web front-end server displays "Starting" but does not start or stop

    I have this strange error showing up from my second Web Front End Server, "The Document Conversions Load Balancer service is stuck in starting, The status showing up "Error Starting". When I lunch the start, it runs then went back to
    the same status "Error Starting" for the "Document Conversions Load Balancer Service". How can I get of rid this issue?

    Hi Mannyabdon,
    Based on your description, I recommend to check the things below:
    1.  Run the PowerShell command below to check the status of the Secure Store Service:
    Get-SPServiceInstance |Where {$_.typename -like "Document Conversions Load Balancer Service"}
    If it is not showing online, please stop the service first and then start it to see if the issue still occurs (the
    <ServiceGUID> can be obtained obtained from the command above).
    Stop the service:
    Stop-SPServiceInstance -Identity <ServiceGUID>
    Start the service:
    Start-SPServiceInstance -Identity <ServiceGUID>
    2.  Check the ULS log for detailed error message.
    For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • P6 EPPM configuration wizard won't connect to database server

    I have installed P6 8.3 and Weblogic on one server (application server). On another server SQL is installed. When i run the P6 EPPM Configuration Wizard i get as far as the step 'Database Type & Connection' where i can fill in the details of the server and database to connect to. But then when i press 'next' nothing happens. I don't get any error, but the wizard is not going to the next step. I've tried it with all the options 'Create a new database', 'Upgrade an existing database' or simply 'Connect to an existing database'.
    I've read in the documentation that to run the P6 Eppm wizard you need to be on an oracle or sql server, but how can i do that when the necessary files are on another server? As far as i was told it's possible to use two separate servers?
    I hope someone can help.

    Hi,
    JRE 1.8.0_40 is not supported. Please check the tested configurations document for your version, client and browser sheet, uninstall JRE 8 U 40, install a supported version, update the JAVA_HOME, run P6 and try again.
    Let me know the results.
    Regards,
    Pablo

  • SharePoint 2013 Configuration Wizard failure while joining a WFE to the existing server farm.

    Dears,
    I've been troubleshooting an issue while trying to join a new WFE server to an existing SharePoint 2013 farm.
    Issue Description:
    When we run the wizard it runs for almost 30 to 45 minutes on the step 3 itself and eventually fails at the end with an error message "Failed to connect to the configuration Database..... Value doesn't fall within the expected range"
    First I thought this is a connectivity issue with the config DB and monitored the complete operation very closely after checking the permissions and SQL server connection and happened to see that the server was able to connect to the farm and all the web
    applications and the related solutions were pushed to the server and apparently the failure of the Wizard at below point: Followed by the error, all web sites and solutions were retracted and a complete roll back happens.
    Can someone pls help me here at the earliest as I'm stuck ???

    BR,
    Mukesh

    Hi Pradeep, this wasn't due to any permission issue.. I was trying with the farm account which is a local admin group member as well as being a member of IIS_WPG.. on a continues investigation happened to find that the IIS config file was corrupted and which
    encountered issues in the creation of app pool.. I had to tweak around some settings with the config file by considering the other WFE as a reference.. this actually fixed the issue..
    BR,

  • Failed to upgrade Sharepoint Products

    Hi there,
    I just ran Windows update on my SharePoint server.
    I checked my Central Administration errors and found a message that said I should run psconfigui.exe.
    I ran it and it failed with a message of "Failed to upgrade Sharepoint Products".
    I checked the log as suggested and can't figure out how to fix it.
    I found these groups of errors in the log but don't know how to address them.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ric

    Hi there,
    I found this article which shows how to address this problem:
    http://khurramjamshed.blogspot.com/2014/04/sharepoint-product-configuration-wizard.html
    After that the configuration completed successfully.
    A last question is after successful configuration a browser opened to central admin asking if I want to configure my SharePoint Farm.
    Do I have to run this wizard?
    I don't really want to change anything that I don't have to.
    Thanks,
    Ric

    Hi,
    Please try the following steps to troubleshoot your issue:
    1.
    You can try to re-run SharePoint 2010 products configuration wizard to see any problems that still exist.
    2.
    Go to IIS and see the status of SecurityTokenServiceApplicationPool service, whether it is stopped or not, restart the pool.
    3.
    Go to manage web application services, review the status of Security Token Service application , try to restart.
    4.
    In Central Administration>Security>Configure Service Account>Change the service account for the Security Token Service application to some other managed account.
    5.
    If the issue persists, try the resolution in this blog:

    Thanks,
    Alex

    could you please share the upgrade log file, so that we understand the error?
    did you reboot your server after the installation of SP1?
    also try to clear the Config cache on the servers and then try again?
    you can run this command on the server its failing
    Get-SPProduct -local
    PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures

  • Bug in 10.1.3 production: Cannot register Custom ViewCriteriaAdapter

    Hi
    I think there is a bug in JDeveloper 10.1.3 production. I cannot register a custom ViewCriteriaAdapter (see also Thread BUG in 10.1.3 EA: Can't register custom ViewCriteriaAdapter
    This is my code:
    public class myAdapter implements ViewCriteriaAdapter
      public String getViewCriteriaClause(ViewObject viewobject, ViewCriteria viewcriteria)
        System.out.println("***** \"myAdapter\" successfully called ***** ");
        return "My ViewCriteria Clause";
    public class tester
      public static void main(String[] args)
        System.out.println("Check if you see a line which states that, that myAdapter was successfully called:");
        AppModuleImpl module = (AppModuleImpl) Configuration.createRootApplicationModule("project1.AppModule", "AppModuleLocal");
        ViewObjectImpl vo = module.getArticlesView1();
        vo.setViewCriteriaAdapter(new myAdapter());
        ViewCriteria vc = vo.createViewCriteria();
        ViewCriteriaRow vcRow = vc.createViewCriteriaRow();
        vcRow.setAttribute("ArticleNo", "like 'DV%'");
        vc.addElement(vcRow);
        vo.applyViewCriteria(vc);
        vo.executeQuery();
        System.out.println("You didn't see such a line? This means 'myAdapter' has not been called, which is a bug!");
    }

    Some investigations discovered that the problem seems to be, that method "applyViewCriteria" in ViewObjectImpl resets the Custom ViewCriteriaAdapter.
    So the problem seems to be solved if you override ViewObjectImpl.applyViewCriteria() like this:
        public void applyViewCriteria(ViewCriteria viewcriteria)
          super.applyViewCriteria(viewcriteria);
          setViewCriteriaAdapter(new myAdapter());
        }Another workaround is to set property "jbo.ViewCriteriaAdapter" to "project1.myAdapter" in the Configuration of all ApplicationModules (or at least in the one which is first instantiated).
    Hope this helps.

    For installing SharePoint 2010 at Windows 7 , You should change SP installer config file to allow client install -
    <Setting Id="AllowWindowsClientInstall" Value="True"/>
    Please follow steps described in these urls,

  • Could not Launch the Farm configuration wizard

    I have installed  SharePoint foundation 2010  on the  Windows 2008 R2 Server  with  MSSql 2008 R2.  The is not a domain controller and it is workgroup server.
    Installation went through without any issues.  Now I am facing problem in Launching Farm configuration wizard.
    I am trying to launch the farm configuration wizard in two way
    A.
     Open internet explorer
     Enter the sharepoint server address
     Login with user name and password
     In share Point central administrator web site,  click on configuration wizard – it returns blank page.
    B.  Start - Programs - SharePoint 2010 Products - SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard
            In continue with configuration wizard.   After few steps of default values,  it opens the internet explorer  and ask for the user name and password.   After passing the user and password
    credentials,
            System gives error  as  permission denied.
    I have read lot of solutions for this issue and applied the same.  Most the solutions suggested that the username should have some roles rights in sql and windows etc.  I have given all possible rights to the user and trying to get this launching
    wizard and there  is no luck.
    I would appreciate if you could help me to sort out this issues.
    Thanks & Regards.
    Noor.
