Sharing photos that others can DOWNLOAD

I'm embarrassed to say that i've been using both iPhoto and IWeb a long time, but I've never understood which "sharing" method to use when I want to let others DOWNLOAD my published photos. The iPhoto help file is confusing because it talks about publishing, podcasting, linking....... But it never makes clear which approach I need to use. I not only want to publish a grid of photos, but I want others to be able to download the photo! If I just place a bunch of photos on one of those template photo pages, is that all I need to do. In Safari, I see that if you click once on a photo, you get an enlaragement of that photo; you can then control-click and you get the options to save the image to your desktop....... I don't want to share photos in any method that requires my computer to constantly be on. I want to select a photo album, upload it to .Mac via IWeb, and let people pick and choose -- and download. -- david c

If I may ask, why do you feel you need to convert? The iPad can open PDFs without problems, so there's no need to convert a PDF to an eBook unless you want to include features and capabilities only available in eBook formats. If you do want such features, that would require recreation of the PDF in the appropriate eBook format.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sifnout and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Is there an e-print app that I can download into my HP J4680 so that it becomes AirPrint enabled?

I have an HP Pc using Windows 7 Home Premium, which is plugged into my HP J46800 all in one printer, a notebook computer which prints to it via wi-fi, and an iphone 4, which doesn't print to it at all because it appears that it is not e-print enabled for AirPrint. Is there some sort of application that I can download that will make this printer able to print things off of my iphone?

Yes ther is and App that you can download from the app store. Its the HP ePrint Home & Biz app. This will allow to print photos, PDF and text docs. Hope this is helpful.

Iphoto and photos that haven't downloaded

Everytime I open Iphoto I get a message that says I have 30 photos that haven't downloaded. It asks me if I want to load them, I hit yes. I have hundreds of empty folders of "recovered phots." How do I fix this?

This can be caused by corruption of your iPhoto Library.
Quit or foce quit iPhoto if necessary.
Then fix your iPhoto library and remove the "Importing" folder from the library -

Basically, you select your iPhoto Library in the Finder and ctrl-click (or right click it).
Select "Show Package Contents" from the pop-up menu.
Look for a folder called "Importing" or "Auto Import" and drag it to your Desktop. Do not change anything else.
Restart iPhoto.
If all is well, open the Importing folder on your Desktop and check, if there is photo inside that you want to keep, then save these photos, else move the folder to the Trash.

I have a couple of articles that should be able to help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes first. This has to be done in a specific manner, and this article can help you do that:

If the person is using a pc, make sure the picture has the suffix .jpg

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

There is no driver software on the iPhone that anyone can remove, per se. Why can't you restore? Is the iPhone not recognized in iTunes? If not, see:

Update your iOS.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

You would have to see which type of things it is blocking. Most likely to do with copyright law of your country or where the content is alowed to be distributed. If it's a genuine problem you should maybe try using a proxy server though.
