4. Access sequence.
For the sales order, create a delivery using VL01N and pick the goods. Now create a shipment using VT01N and assign the delivery to the shipment document. Make sure to enter the carrier and other details before performing the transportation planning and execution. Save the shipment document and PGI for the delivery would be done automatically.
A shipment represents a physical goods movement between two or more locations.
For the system to create a shipment, shipping-relevant deliveries must exist.
You use Transportation Planning to group pending deliveries into shipments and then to perform the shipments.
The outbound delivery documents contain routes that the system calculates in route determination, and a transportation planning date for the delivery.
Dynamic transportation planning is responsible for grouping together outbound deliveries into shipments that have at least the same route, visit plan type and the same transportation planning date.
The following restrictions can be taken into account for a shipment in Dynamic Transportation Planning:
u2022 Weight
u2022 Volume
u2022 Variable capacity
u2022 Number of stops
u2022 Maximum duration
u2022 Loading units

You cannot carry out transportation planning or creation of shipment after the goods issue has been executed. Once goods issue is done it means that the material has left your premises so there is no need for a transportation planning after it.
In case you need carry out the shipment documents at the end of the day you could just create the delivery documents during the day and at end of the day create the shipment documents and the goods issue.

  • Excise Process related to SD?

    Hi,
I am trying to understand the Excise process in SD as I am unable to understand it. It is there in my company and I know the MM process but for SD as they are not using the tax codes. Then how they are calculating the tax is what I want to know....
Please tell me the process flow if for example if I have to calculate and configure the BED....
    Thanks and Regards
    Nitin

I disagree with you following statement:
It is there in my company and I know the MM process but for SD as they are not using the tax codes
As unlike MM, where you select a tax code to calculate tax. In SD, the tax code is determined from condition record(VK12/VK13) maintained for tax code type.
Refer one SCN wiki for taxation:
    - [ Tax code and SAP SD |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPLO/TaxcodeandSAPSD]
That wiki speaks about an insight on tax codes with relevance to SAP Sales and Distribution Module.
In case of any concern or disagreement, do revert back.
And for the excise process related to SD, that is already explained by one of our fellow forum-mate.

  • The best forwarding agent determination during shipment processing.

    Hello,
Standard SAP allow freight cost estimate during shipment processing for particular forwarding agent - "Freight cost estimate" button.
Is it possible in standard to automatic determination of the cheaper forwarding agent based on freight cost estimation?
    Andrzej

    Dear Andrzej,
Through "Freight cost estimate" you can find out which farwarding agent is cheaper than other  based on that you can deside  which FA is feasable.
I don't think system will determine automatically the cheapest FA in the shipping documents.
I hope this will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • Where to maintain planning related / process related minimum interval

    Dear Sir,
To have buffer / leeway in planning , SAP has provided the provision for maintaing of the following information :
    Planning related minimum interval
    Planning related minimum offset
    Process related minimum Interval
We do not know where this information can be maintained in the SAP System .
We request SAP experts to kindly guide us about maintaining of the above information into the SAP system .
    With Thanks and Regards
    Sonia agarwal

    Sonia,
These terms are used within APO Detailed Scheduling (part of PP/DS) module.  They can be found in certain master data (PPMs and PDS's) and they are used in various scheduling tasks: heuristics, DS planning board, optimizer.
Online help about production order time intervals in scheduling can be found at
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/EN/5f/e9693728e52456e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm
    and related pages.
It is quite a daunting task to maintain data that meets a set of business requirements unless you have extensive knowledge of PP/DS.  Since you have never done this before, I strongly recommend that you engage an experienced PP/DS resource to assist you in this area.  You can spend weeks and weeks using trial and error methods in varying the many interrelated parameters that will have an impact on scheduling.  Then, when the client asks you to 'tweak' the results, more weeks.
If you feel compelled to attempt this on your own anyway, then I also suggest that you will get more answers if you post such questions in one of the SCM/APO forums.  I suggest that you first read the above mentioned help, including all the subordinate pages and the contained links, before you ask more detailed questions.
    Best Regards & Good Luck,

  • Shipment process without delivery is it possible?

    Hi,
My company wants to track the shipment of parts scrapped (sap mvt type 551) and sent to the vendor throught the shipment.
We are already using transportation for outbound delivery and WM.
The current process is : 1- mvt type 551; 2- Create TO; 3-Confirm T.O and sent parts to vendor for scrap.
We would like integrate the shipment in the this process.
Can you help me to figure out the integration with the shipment process?
    Thanks & Regards
    Bouba

    Bouba,
Check your IM to WM interface  configuration setting
IMG: Logistics Execution > Warehouse Management > Interfaces > Define Movement Types >>Assign WM Movement Type References to IM Movement Types & >> LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management
Based on your error message (551/X/X/ /L/X/./) your current settings in "Assign WM Movement Type References to IM Movement Types" are as follows:
    > IM Mvt type = 551 (GI scrapping)
    > VUp = X (Yes, update Value)
    > QUP = X (Yes, Update Quantity)
    > Special Stock = Blank (No special Stock)
    > Movement Indicator = L (Delivery)
    > Recipeint indicator = X (Stock Transport Order)
    > Ref Mvmt type = Blank (No WM Movemnet type)
Your reference movement type should not be blank - recommend changing it to 551
Also, make sure that IM mvmt type 551 is linked to Warehouse mvmt type 551 in LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management with all of the correct settings as above.
I hope this does the trick for you.

  • Regarding shipment process

    Dear Gurus,
In shipment process, we assign deliveries to shipments. One shipment means one truck in my company.
    My question is;
If that truck is on way, in that case user can not use that truck again until it is released.
So how can I implement it in SAP? Is there any standard way for it?
    Kind Regards,

In standard, it is not possible.  You have to go for zee table where you need to have field to check whether the vehicle is released or not.  Based on this, while creating shipment, system should validate this zee table.  Of course, you can have additional fields like Truck Number, Truck type etc., depending upon the requirement.

  • Shipment process or IFM

    Hi all,
i was working on one of the AT phase for this shipment process last year, but i still cant figure out as what value is this process adding to both customer and supplier.I mean in Shipment process we send bunch of ASN's together rather than sending it individually. How is it adding value ? explain using Business process.
    Regards,
    Nandan

    Hi Nandan,
ASNu2019s are created in different shifts for different Products in differ shipping docks at the same Supplier Location and a single Shipment is created based on the Transportation Schedule once in a day, Specific Days of week etc.
The shipment request is the basis for further transportation planning. It contains the most important data for planning and executing the transportation, such as pick-up and delivery addresses and dates/times, or the goods to be transported.
As the name suggests, shipment talks about how the material is being sent. e.g. by Truck, Rail, etc...
who is the Transportation service provider, what is the container id / docking id?
    tracking of the consignment, etc.

  • Shipment documents related load

    Hi All,
We are in the process upgrading our BI system from 3.5 to BI 7.0. We are now in quality system. We are doing loads from R/3 and further in BI. There is a load from 8ZSHPDELC (Shipment and delivery combined ODS) to ZSHPDELCI (Shipment and Delivery cube). This load is working fine on the BW 3.5 system.
But now on the upgraded BI quality system (BI 7.0), we are getting an error when loading deltas. There is a short dump in BW everytime we trigger a delta load. The dump is " ASSIGN_CAST_WRONG_ALIGNMENT". And also an error "Error in ASSIGN statement in program "GP3M1DP4E8GSNBA25B1KDK8SRB9".
    Can anyone help us?
    Regards,
    Suman

  • Purchasing Groups deleted: Errors when processing related documents

    Hi Gurus,
We are on SRM 7 and we are currently facing an issue when processing documents which Purchasing Groups have been deleted after thee procurement documents were created
In our case, when a PGroups is deleted and unassigned, an interfase from HR is raised and i the SRM PPOMA the Pgroup is not valid anymore and unassigned from the Purchasing Organization.
Once this happens, we face a blocking issue for all the documents created with Purchasing Groups that has been deleted.
These documents cannot be processed anymore and and error saying that Purchasing group is not assigned to purchasing organization... is raised.
Currently we are manually mantaining the validity of the Purchasing Group via PPOMA and transaction PP01. We put the validity to unlimited and the documents can be processed again.
Anyway we would like to avoid this manual update and to have a false information in te system where the PGroup will be shown as valid while it has been deleted in the past.
Could you please advise on the best solution on it?
    Many Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Valentino

Thank you both for your responses and my apologies on my delayed response.
I have this POA set to run the indexing continuously, so it's generating large logs.
From the log entries, it looks as if the indexing process repeats itself anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
I base this on when I see the log repeating the userxxx.db file names.
When I look at the information for my single post office, it shows 559 users, 126 resources and a total mailbox count of 565.
I'm not sure how that all works out.
    To answer your questions, Laura:
The logs show the error in relation to 527 out of 559 userxxx.db files.
There are 181 userxxx.db and 24 files with names like pu3a0101.db that do not return an 8210 error. All of those files consistently show a zero count after the index process, e.g., Updating QuickFinder index: userxxx.db (0).
The error or lack of error is consistent. It occurs on the same 527 files and does not occur on the same 181 files every time.
The one clue I've found to the puxx0101.db files was a forum post from back in 2006, where Dave Parkes identifies them as being associated with shared folders.
    To answer your question, Howard:
I have a fair number of users with large attachments and high item counts, but nowhere near what I'm am seeing the 8210 errors on.
