Short description in F4 help

Hello experts ,
I am trying to access the short text of Status in E070 , as i can see some short text when i F4 on the feild .
I want to know i which table this short text is stored .
Example :
- Goto E070 table
- F8
- In the status feild we may get the value D, A ,L etc with corresponding short text like 'Modifiable' etc
I would like to know in which table this text is stored .
Note : Tried with DD03T , DD04T , DD07T .

Those texts are built-in in the domain TRSTATUS
To get them try FM DOMAIN_VALUE_GET

We are implementing MM-SUS scenario, where we are releasing the Schedule agreement for vendor.
SAR is reaching to SUS, but the product short description is not appearing on the SAR screen on SUS.

How to place short description instead of id in listbox in bsp?

Hi Developer,
Please Guide me in solve the issues that i need to display short text in the listbox instead of id ,the field i have taken contains id and shortdescription but my issues is my getting id and need to short description in bsp dropdown list....
ex:
id    shortdescription
1     name
2     rollname
3     class
i need to hide id and i need place short description in listbox in bsp ...
Please guide in solving the problem.

DId you perform a search with keywords "BSP" and "listbox" in online help ?
(Once you find a runtime->ddic_utils->get_simple_helpvalue call and the corresponding layout, you should guess it)

I know for IS-R the BADI 'BADI_MATERIAL_OD'. It works for MM41/2/3 but I think that it doesn't work for this field.

SAP 6.0 - short description is changed

Hi All,
I use SAP system in French languague.
I use ME51N transaction
I am trying to create a service requisition and when I am writing the short description, my text is not correct :
Example:
agent supplémentaire => is converted into => agent suppl # mentaire
It seems the ´ (stress) is not recognized by the system.
I think there is something wrong in my SAP account. Before SAP upgrade everything was working fine u2026
could you please is there is any setting for this?

Pls press F1 on material Group field , & click on Technical Information button.After That double Click on table name MEPO1211 & check in Entry Help/Check Tab .Weather S_WBWG is attached with MATKL field.
Pls also check ,have you created any Material Groups i.e PATH - IMG-Logistics - General-Material Master-Settings for Key Fields-Define Material Groups

Table Field Short Descriptions

If you go into the Repository Information System (SE83), then drill down to ABAP Dictionary->Fields->Table Fields, you are allowed to enter a table name to display its fields and short descriptions. I need to know what table the short descriptions are stored. I assumed it was DD03T, but I'm not able to locate most of my field descriptions for the MM module. Can anyone help?

Sheshu... The DD03M seems to be missing some positional data even though its viewable in SAP TCode ZSE16R.
Check this out as an example:
Look at table CSKS fields by using ZSE16R, then go to the choose fields option in the Settings>List Format menus. Then compare that to the data that is in DD03M.
Examples of missing fields form DD03M for table CSKS:
MANDT
PKZKP
VERAK
WAERS
Can you tell me why this data isn't present in the DD03M table?

Java Exception during we click the item short description in search result

Hi Experts,
We are in SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0.
When we click a item's short description in catalog search result list to open the item detail, the new screen opened with a internal server error. And the error summary is "java.lang.NullPointerException: The relationship ID is not an optional parameter." I have validated the XML mapping, I can not find any fields which were used for the "relationship ID".
The SAP notefound in a forum is for SRM MDM Catalog 3.0 SP02 but we are using SRM MDM Catalog 3.0 SP09.Can anyone
please advise.

Hi Sunil,
There is only one cause for Nullpointer exception. The connectivity between the source and target system no longer exist .
Please restart the MDM server once this might help .

for material Field as optional, i had tried , by going in group 20,
and tried to change it optional, but things are not working as per.

Field MAKTX is a mandatory field. You cant make it optional I suppose.
Pl note the following from SAP HELP:
Enter all required information. Fields in which you must enter data are
prefilled with a checkmark or question mark ("?") by the system. If the
current screen contains tabs, check all tabs to make sure you have
filled in all required fields. Then restart the action.

Unable to use Free Text-Short Description

Hi,
I'm unable to use the short description free text field for the Purchase requisition and the system only allows the Purchases against material master (material number) and the short text is greyed out.
Please help.

The field Selection key were changed as per advise and unfortunately the desired field were still grey-out.
My observation is that the these fields are somehow linked to Document Types and this is was evident once changing to different Doc types (eg.Framowork or Other Related Requisition types).
Your help is still awaited.

How to change the standard Fields short description in KNVV table

Hi All,
Our system is recently upgraded from 4.7 to ECC 6. When we compared both versions we found the KNVV table fields descriptions are changed in 4.7(customer modifications done in 4.7) and same these customer modifications are not copied to ECC 6 from 4.7 version.
So I tried to change the short description at domain level with the help of access key. But the description is not changed. Can you please let me know is there any procedure that how can we change the fields description for standard tables.

You need not use access key to change field labels
Transaction CMOD -> Go to -> Text Enhancements -> Keyword -> Change.
Here you can change all data element KNVGR1 to KVGR5

I've tried in t.c se80.But i could not find the respective program names.

1)Goto SE84(Repository InfoSystem) tcode.
2)In Repository Info System node, Select Program Library.
3)Then Select Programs.
4) And enter ur description and u press F8.
5) u can search program name based on description, package and many othet options. check it out.
U can find many programs with ur entered pattern.
Select ur program.....

Use a select query to fetch the required description of the field from view DD03VT passing fields TABNAME, FIELDNAME, DDLANGUAGE in WHERE condition
Using this you can get any text ShortFieldLabel, Medium Fld Labl, Long Fld Label of a field

BPS: No description in F4 help

I created a planning area and a web interface. In a variable 'Curency' I selected User-Specific Value. After that I select for a user a currency and use F4-help. In this help I could see all currencies values and there descriptions. I use this variable in the component 'Selector Variable' in the web interface. If I execute web interface and select F4-help for the currency-variable only values of currencies will display and not the descriptions. How could I display the corresponding descriptions of currencies? In infoobject 'Currency' the field 'short description' is filled.

If you double click on the Variable Selector in Web Interface Definition (T-code: BPS_WB) then you should be able to see its attributes. Please check what is shown in the attribute of Formatting. Do you have Text and Key selected here?

Material Replication - Short Description missing

During delta materila replication, we are not seeing material short description come over to SRM.
I appreciate any help with this.

No, I do not see it. I did not see the short text come in BDOC itself. However, if I change the short description of material in ECC, then it comes over fine.
