Short dump GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED - Field symbol FS_ENVDLIST not assigned

Hi Experts,
I need your help. Currently i am getting a short in CIC0 transaction.
Please find steps executed which result in short dump.
Search for a BP with BD display as the active tab. This search will be successful.
Press u2018End Contactu2019 Now search for 2nd BP with BD display as the active tab.
This will result in a dump.
Now if I again execute the t-code CIC0 & enter the same BP it will be successful
On debugging, I found out that the program cannot identify the data environment since the field symbol <fs_envdlist> does not get assigned when BD_DISPLAY tab is active. But the program still continues to use this field symbol which results in a dump
CRM Version - 4.0 - Patch level 10

Thank you for the reply, but both this note are applicable to me
1144076 u2013 Talks about dump when too many hits are returned - I do not have any such message
996915 u2013 Talks about searching for the premise for a point of delivery without entering any search parameters - again in my scenario, input data is always provided.
Is there any solution, i did get note 1254404 which is closest to my issue, but its valid from crm 5.0 and we are on CRM 4.0

I am calling a RFC BAPI_PBSRVAPS_CHANGEKEYFIGVAL2 from R/3 sytem to SCM 5.0.
Acutally this FM BAPI_PBSRVAPS_CHANGEKEYFIGVAL2 not available in R/3 system.
So i am using scm destination and calling above FM directly from R/3 but i am getting the short dump

Hi Radhakrishna,
It looks like you have a discrepancy in the planning area with respect to keyfigure. Some thing like the key figure description is not synchronized between live cache and db.
I suggest you log onto your SCM system, run the program /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK on your planning area with correct error option.
Please let me know if this works.

     come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
What can you do?
     Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
     To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
     administrator.
     Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
     at and manage termination messages, and you can also
     keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
     A field symbol that was not assigned was accessed
     (data segment no. 32769).
    The field symbol is no longer assigned because there was an attempt
    makde previously in a Unicode program to set the field symbol using
    ASSIGN with offset and/or length specification. Here, the memory
    addressed by the offset/length specification was not within the
    allowed area.
How to correct the error
    If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
    find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
    If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED_RANGE" " "
    "SAPLSTXC" or "LSTXCFFT"
    "FT_COMPOSE"
    If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
    notification to SAP, include the following information:
    1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
       To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
   2. Corresponding system log
      Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
      Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes

I am getting this dump only for few POs.. Rest of the POs are able to print. I am not able to find notes for this issue. Is there any SAP notes available for that or Is there any configuration issue related to this?
Please provide solution for thsi as soon as possible.

A field symbol is not assigned, but thats what the dump is telling you. Mostly this happens, when fields or function modules are stored by name, like the fieldnames in the fieldcatalog in an ALV report. It a field referenced in such a way does not exist you will get this error. Always store fieldnames and function names in capital letters and check mistyping of 1L 8B and so on.

I am facing the following dump u201CGETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED u201C, Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLDSVAS_GRAPH" - in u201CSET_EXTREME_VALUES".The main program was "RDSMOP_MAIN ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 275 of the (Include) program "LDSVAS_GRAPHACI".
Friends I am facing this issue while generating EWA report for R3 server only, Iu2019m able to generate EWA report for other servers like BI, CRM. But while creating EWA report for ERP server Iu2019m getting this dump.
Certain thing I would like to highlight. Recently we did a support pack upgrade, mine is a Solman 7.0 EHP1 system. We update the support pack up to " SPS 6 ".Before the support pack upgrade it was working fine, I was able to generate the EWA report for all my servers.
Do any body face similar kind of problem?

How to revert back a SAP NOTE? Dump- Field symbol has not yet been assigned

Hi Experts,
We r getting dump(cause: Field symbol has not yet been assigned) in production for ABUMN tx, so, when debugged, it came to know that, the Field symbol is coming from REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY!!
So, for some reason the system message text is not getting output in ALV-->Dump!!
So, found a NOTE causing this problem!!
So, pls. let me know that, How to revert back this/any SAP NOTE? pls. in detail steps wise!!

Hi,
The problem seems to be in your ALV grid display.
The reason must be your field catalog.
Just check your fieldcatalog.
The value in the fieldname field of the fieldcatalog should be same as the fieldname in your internal table and should be in capital letters.
Probably you must have mistyped some field.

I display my output in alv grid format using REUSE_ALU_GRID_DISPLAY, there i have one editable field , when user click on save data that data will be saved , so in user command i write code like to check changed data

RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: Field symbol has not yet been assigned.

I am on the newest patches for basically all things related to BI, and some of them are giving me trouble. The problem I am now encountering is when I try to jump from my Purchasing Query to my Purchasing Line Items Query, I get an error, stating RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: Field symbol has not yet been assigned. Does anybody know what this means? I haven't changed either query recently, and it was working just fine.
Any help is appreciated.

Record a RSTT trace by refering to the note : 899572, and then execute the trace in RSTT.If will throw a dump and chekc where the issue is.It is difficult to say why the error has occured just from teh error "RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: Field symbol has not yet been assigned."

DATA_OFFSET_TOO_LARGE dump for field symbol assignment/offset

Hi,
I am getting a DATA_OFFSET_TOO_LARGE dump for field symbol assignment/offset.
Dump says, 'In the running program "ZTEST", the field "<WA_FINAL>" of the type "u" and length 2174 was to be accessed with the offset 2204. However, subfield accesses with an offset specification that is not smaller than the field length are not permitted.'
Here <WA_FINAL> have to be 'TYPE any' to avoid assignment conflicts later in the logic.
It's basically dumping at <WA_FINAL>+V_LEN(V_OFF) = WA_DATA-FIELD1.
Here V_LEN LIKE DD03L-LENG & V_OFF LIKE DD03L-LENG.
Please suggest how to get rid of this dump.

The dump is very clear, your field is smaller than the offset.
The problem is most likely how you are calculating v_len and v_off.
You could change that, but there is probably an easier and faster way to do what you are trying there. Is <wa_final> something like a line from a file or what?

For 2 Zfields in Web UI, BSP err: Field symbol has not yet been assigned.

Hi,
I've created 3 ZFields (F1, F2, F3) in EEWB. I've assigned F1 in the configuration of Component WB (available fields to displayed fields). I can see ZField F1 in the Web UI.
But when i assign other 2 ZFields F2 & F3 in the configuration & check in Web UI, it showing the below error:
"Field symbol has not yet been assigned."
Anyone faced the similar issue, pls share the solution to fix this.

I think the problem is with the cookie handling. Cookies are really just raw data that needs to be placed into ABAP structure. This is something like the way I would do it....

When i try to do a Flexible upload for a sample RFD, i get the following dump:

What happened?
    Error in the ABAP Application Program
    The current ABAP program "CL_UC_TASK_EXECUTION==========CP" had to be
     terminated because it has
    come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Error analysis
    You attempted to access an unassigned field symbol
    (data segment 32776).
    This error may occur if
    - You address a typed field symbol before it has been set with
      ASSIGN
    - You address a field symbol that pointed to the line of an
      internal table that was deleted
    - You address a field symbol that was previously reset using
      UNASSIGN or that pointed to a local field that no
      longer exists
    - You address a global function interface, although the
      respective function module is not active - that is, is
      not in the list of active calls. The list of active calls

Has anyone encountered this type of dump before?
My Observation
(Data Rows contain the following columns - Item / Company / Trading partner / PV LC)
When i give a trading partner which is not defined in the system, the system is interpreting the header row & data rows. Also, it gives an error message for each row.
But,
When i give a trading partner which is defined in the system, or when i remove the trading partner column in total, it throws the above short dump.
The breakdown category defined in the system are Trading partner & Movement type.
Both, have the breakdown type 1. (optional breakdown, initialized value allowed).
Pls note that after several permutations & combinations - to trace the error, i have removed all the columns & kept the minimum required (Item / Company / Trading partner / PV LC).

Hi Kumar,
The note refers to FINBASIS 300 release.
In the present system we have, it is FINBASIS 600.
I raised an OSS message.
Anyway, implementation of the note helped me with all releases.
But, first of all, I mentioned another remedy that you may see here:
SPRO: SEM/Business Analytics -> Fin. Basis -> Master Data Framework -> System Settings -> Profile Parameter Setting.
It's about setting parameter for ABAP shared memory on the server. If you do not set this parameter to 200-300 MB, you constantly will have the errors like I mentioned while trying to save master data. Did you read my previous message carefully and look at this hint?
In case of breakdown type 1 - the upload should happen - if we dont specify any values for the breakdown category. Pls confirm.
- Confirmation. The system will accept any value, including null.
Is it true that we cannot load RFD data (with both movement type & trading partner information), in one go? If yes, what is the reason behind it.
- No confirmation. Where is it from? I always do such a load.

Iam calling a Function module for ALV grid display in Report programming. Its throwing the Error message Field Symbol has not yet defined. Can any one suggest what i have to do regarding it?

<li> This is problem with fieldcatalog.
<li> Check field names or table name in small letters in quotes while building fieldcatalog internal table
<li> Check the fieldcatalog internal table , whether it has same fields as in data table which is shown using GRID_DISPLAY function module.
