Shortcut to toggle windows not working right

Safari Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2); OS 10.6.8
When I employ the Command-tilde shortcut to toggle windows in Safari, it only cycles among two or three open windows. In other words, it does not bring to the front any other open windows that I want to view. For example, right now I have 4 windows open and it cycles through 3 of them but I have to manually choose the fourth from the Window menu. I just opened a fifth window and it still only toggles among the same three that were already open, but not the fourth or the fifth. I checked Safari Prefs and cannot find anything related to this. Any ideas how to fix or adjust this?

The last time I saw a similar problem to yours, he was also running Panther. I advised reinstalling the 10.3.9 combo update, and his woes were gone.

Another thought is to check System Preferences/CD's & DVD'S, and check your selection nuder "When you insert a blank CD" (or DVD).
Running Disk Utility from the install disk, and repairing permissions is also another possible fix.

Open browser window - not working right in different browsers

My client wants to link to a video on another company's site (he has permission). When I use the DW behavior of Open Browser Window in a specifc size it acts weird, depending on which broswer is used. I've used this function many times over the years and never had this problem until now.

But the client says that sometimes it opens a second full browser window of the site, and also a window with the video, which is not sized properly. It happens with Safari and Firefox, on both is Mac and PC. On my PC it all seems to work fine.
Any suggestions? Could this be something to do with the fact that the video is hosted on someone else's site?

Once more I am a retired government employee. So I have the time to post. Or has my rights been taken away to voice an opinion?
Your posts was great you were not whining about your rights to file complaints to the FCC or FTC etc. One of the best I have read.
And I am not trying to sway you from your phone choice. If you looked at my avitar it shows apple iphones. But I use and have used androids and not Windows phones.
However your numbers of windows phone users all leaving over the issue is miniscule in the number of users of Android and iOS devices.
I have written many times I wish all the devices get updated like iOS devices do. But at present that is not happening
No bashing, no adversarial post just a little common sense is all I use.

Hp advisor not working right

I have a laptop HP HDX X16T-1200 CTO PREMIUM NOTEBOOK PC and it has two problems
first one COMPUTER WON'T DO SYSTEM RESTORE TO AN EARLIER TIME, I have a lot of restore points
second one HP ADVISOR IS NOT WORKING RIGHT, I open the dashboard and everything starts working but security part keep saying it's initializing, at the same time I get a little message that says hp advisor has a problem windows is checking for a solution but so far a did not get any solution.

Going back to a restore point can be problematic if you are using Norton. It has tamper protection setting among others that cause the Windows ssytem restore point process to fail.
What version of HP Advisor are you using?

I have a fresh install of Win7x64 OEM. First, I want to say that I have "AUTOMATICALLY MUTE SPEAKERS" UNCHECKED under the Headphone detection tab. I have tried "Automatically Enable Headphone Settings" checked or unchecked. No difference.
As soon as I plug in headphones to the front panel connector , the speakers in the mixer say "disconnected" (see below) and the SPDIF becomes the default output. There is no way for me to change this. And there isn't any sound coming from the headphones when plugged into the front panel. (the mic front panel works fine)
I am using the nati've Win7 drivers for the card. Apparently the Win 7 drivers on your site are older than the nati've ones.
This worked fine in Windows XP 32. Any ideas.

Ok guys this is how I fixed the problem on my X-Fi PCI-Express. Open the Creative SB X-Fi Volume panel. Mine is set in game mode and I have 5 vertical sliders for Line-In /Mic, MIDI Synth, Digital-In, and the last one will say one of three things either Digital-In, Microphone, or Mirophone FP. At the top of the?slider there is a tab which brings up a drop down menu. Mine was default set to Digital-In, I switched it to Mirophone FP (tried Microphone first and it worked but the FP sounds better for me) and cranked it all the way up and my problem was solved. Very frustrating one though as there is no documentation that led me to the fix it was just playing around with it till I could figure it out.
I hope this at least helps some of you out.

Extend studio extensions do not work right in DW CC

I have Flexi Layouts Pro 2 and JQuery Media Pack installed within the latest Adobe Extension Manager CC and I cannot edit them or get them to work properly, it's like some of the menus/dialogs are missing or cannot launch. They are licensed products however, it shows a BUY bar on the top of each application bar as if they are trials. The editing function does not work in any of the JQuery Media Pack apps.

I have re-installed the DW CC software and updated the CC Manager
reinstalled the extension and air components
I have reset licenses
Anyone have a solution or have the same problem?
I really need help here --- these apps are not cheap

Seems with CC 2014.1, you must disable (uncheck) "Live View" option. Once I did that, the dialogs worked

Remote not working right

I've had my FIOS about 2 months, put new batteries in remote and it is still not working right. Some things work fine. Other things stopped working - can't delete a DVR show, can't change channels with one digit, but it will if I add all 4 digits, info box on bottom of screen never disappears (unless I hit exit). What's wrong?
My second TV set-up is OK.

Might not even be a remote issue. Have you tried rebooting the box?
If you do think it's the remote it's still under warranty.
You can get a free replacement easy within the dvr's menu.
Here is a page that tells you ways to get a replacement.

Get a new remote and if you still have the same issues then you'll know its the dvr that needs to be replaced.

My iPod is not working right. It's slow and lags and just doesn't work and always exits apps. You cannot reinstall iOS without doing a restore. But you might first try a software update. If you have iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1, you can update to iOS 5.1 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

IPad 2 was updated to latest iOS 7 and has been not working right since. I have tried to do a restore but still continues to go into reboot mode by itself and very erratic. Can no longer trust it. I tried to complain to Apple but have to give them 20 buck

iPad has not worked right since it updated to latest software. Tried to question Apple about it but it costs 20 bucks just to lodge a complaint. Is this normal Apple behavior or am I missing something. Also anyone else having issues with upgrade to iOS7. It was working great until that point and now goes into reboot mode often and sometimes will continuously reboot several times. I have tried to restore but that didn't clear the problem. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

You can always try to reset your device and see if it helps matters any:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

Has the unit EVER been jailbroke?
If "No," first try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

T42 keyboard not working right, HELP PLEASE

My keyboard is not working right. If I push the key it wont work,but if I hold the key for a couple seconds then it works was told to replace the keyboard and I did with a new one. But it is still doing it. Can anyone tell me what the problem is. Model # R4U machine type 2378, OS XP-PRO , COA SP2 , S/N L3xxxxx.

It's the Quick Selection Tool in Photoshop Elements 9 and I'm trying to get the background and make it another layer so I can even out the color of the background then bring down the transparency. Not sure if that makes sense. I'm new to this.... Sometimes the area it will grab can go ...not fast.. but not slow. Sometimes it's like it's just messed up and literally takes 30 seconds to process each move. I rebooted my computer and re opened it and it helped a little. It's not clear what causes it when it messes up and when it doesn't. Just frustrating. It's probably user error because I'm so new at Photoshop. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

Scroll-bar STILL not working right in 10.6.1 update

The scroll-bar is STILL NOT working right in the 10.6.1 update. I am not able to click anywhere on the scroll-bar and have the navigation go there. I have to drag the blamed thing where ever I want it to go. This problem only exist with the recent iTunes 10.6.x updates.

I have the new MacBook Pro 2010, Dell 3007WFP. No mirroring problemsat that or higher res. I was chagrined, however, to find out that while my 2007 15" MacBook Pro had no problems driving the Dell 30", the 2010 17" requires the Dual Link cable for $100 extra. ;>(
But it works fine.

Safari 5.1.2 Not working right after install

Hi, after installing the update for Snow Leopard safari is not working right. Some pages don't load, and other don't load correctly.
I have to keep hitting refresh two or three times. Also thunbnails are not displaying. Even the apple page comes up looking buggy.
Please help!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, monitor, and Ethernet, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in as yourself. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During startup, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all, perhaps including wireless networking on certain Macs. If you usually connect to the Internet via WiFi, and it doesn’t work in safe mode, connect using an Ethernet cable. If you can’t do that, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and perform a safe login, as follows: Enter your credentials at the login screen, then hold down the shift key and click the “Log in” button. Keep holding the key until the menu bar appears. In this mode, your login items, among other things, won’t load.
In safe mode, test again. Same problem(s) now?
After testing, reboot (if you booted in safe mode) or log out/log in (if you performed a safe login) as usual.
