Shortcut Type in Bi 4.1

Hi All,
We have lots of reports in public folders. Since we dont want the users to view the actual reports, we have made shortcuts to them and have re-named to resemble as the actual reports. In XIR2, the renamed shortcut reports would indeed show as the actual report with the Type as WebI or DeskI.
Where as in BI 4.1, it is still showing as shortcut as Type, in place of WebI or DeskI.
Any idea to change the type in BI 4.1?

Hi Navaladi,
You are right, I just verified.
In BI 4.1 it does not shows report type (SI_KIND) for any shortcut; however it was exists in XI R2.
We can certainly post it to SAP idea place for future enhancement.
Regards,
Mahesh

  • How to disable keyboard shortcut for Type-And-Transfer

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a macro in Excel that I want to use the ctrl+shft+h keyboard shortcut. However, Lenovo's Type-and-Transfer tool has hijacked that shortcut so everytime I try to use the shortcut within Excel it launches the Type-and-Transfer tool. I've looked everywhere and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to disable this keyboard shortcut from launching the Type-and-Transfer tool. Anybody have any idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    jd

    Hi,
here is what I would check in:
    Registry:
    - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM
    - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LENOVO
    - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM
    - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lenovo
<sorry as I don't havea system with this shortcut type I cannot find the exact same key combination>
My second thought is going more in the direction of an application, that is called Keyboard Customizer
Try this one, if that will fit your request.
Let me know any update, that you can give on this situation.
    Cheers

  • Ok, what happened to this shortcut in Snow Leopard?

In Photoshop CS4 Mac OS10.5 and 10.6 are behaving differently in one small but annoying respect:  The shortcut Shift > Option > (left and right square brackets) used to select previous and next layers inclusively. This means that layers were added to the selection as you used this shortcut. In Snow Leopard 10.6 this shortcut no longer works for some reason.
Why does it really matter? - this affects the recording of Actions, where it now seems to be impossible to to record the step "Select Backward/Forward layer - with modification Add". This is a very important step for contextual layer selection in Actions. So unless you have a machine with 10.5 on it you cannot record this step at all any more as far as I can see. Unless I'm missing something?
I tried this only using Photoshop CS4 on both operating systems, but I suspect that the problem may exist in CS5 also. Its possible I'm missing something here and someone may have a solution for me? I know its possible to dupe existing Action steps, but a direct answer would be appreciated.

Mark, I will provide you with a workaround. Please make sure that you have not changed the shortcut for "Select Backward/Forward layer" To check the list of current keyboard shortcuts please do the following:
    Choose Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.
From the Shortcuts For menu, choose a shortcut type: Application Menus, Panel Menus, or Tools.
    Click Summarize.
You can export the list of current keyboard shortcuts and view them.  You can also delete the current short cut for a particular action here. In the Set pop‑up menu, choose the shortcut set that you want to delete. Then click on the delete icon and click OK. To create a new shortcut, do the following. In the Shortcut column of the scroll list, select the shortcut you want to modify. Type a new shortcut then save.
    Hope it helps,
    Bobby Johnson.

  • Photoshop CS6: cmd+F1: how to change that keyboard shortcut?

I want to change the keyboard shortcut cmd+F1. it's set in Preferences to change the background color to black. I looked in Preferences to see if I can set it to none, and in PS keyboard shortcuts. But in the keyboad shortcut menu, preferences is not shown. How can I turn off / keep cmd+F1 from changing my preference background color to black?
Thanks for any help with this. Its very frustraiting.
    Jeff N

You can't set it. That's part of the problem. When I go into the keyboard shortcut window to make a custom shortcut and select Layer> Flatten.... and then click to add a shortcut, type in Cmd+F1 it accepts it. But when I use the Cmd+F1 shortcut, background changes to black. I then must go into Preferences to change it back to what it was.
I'm looking for a way to stop photoshop from using cmd+F1 to change my background screen color in preferences.

  • Favorites Shortcut Screen

I somehow deleted the favorites shortcut screen that came pre-placed on my Incredible.  Anyone know how to get it back??

Here are the steps to adding your favorites back to your device.
From the home screen, touch Menu.
    Touch Add to home.
    Touch Shortcut.
    Touch the shortcut type.

  • How do I create a keyboard shortcut for compressing text?

I am in a prepress situation where we build print advertisements.
The company has just gone over to Indesign from Quark.
I would like quick access to text compression similar to Quark's 'Ctrl ['.
I can't find the facility to compress in 'Edit/Keyboard Shortcuts/Type'.

    - Navigate to Adobe InDesign's "Edit" menu and select "Keyboard Shortcuts." The Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box comes up on your screen.
    - Click on the "Set" pop-up at the top of the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box. Choose "Shortcuts for QuarkXPress 4.0." Now click "OK." That's all you have to do to make Adobe InDesign behave more like QuarkXPress.
    - Attempt to use a QuarkXPress shortcut and you find your familiar hands-on environment within Adobe InDesign. This saves you time by letting you leverage the value of your experience in a new software package.
    - Return to the "Edit" menu and choose "Keyboard Shortcuts" again if you prefer the keyboard commands from QuarkXPress but always wanted to change one or more of them. Don't try to edit the shortcuts in the "QuarkXPress 4.0" set  itself. Instead, click the "New Set" button. In the window that comes up, type a distinctive name for your new shortcut set. Choose "Shortcuts for QuarkXPress 4.0" from the "Based on Set" pop-up. Now click "OK." The "Product Area" pop-up  helps you assign new shortcuts to as many menu items as you wish. (If you try to assign a shortcut that's already in use, you see the conflict listed at the bottom of the dialog box.) When you've finished your changes, click "OK" to use your  new settings.
    - Test your new shortcuts

  • Missing user-dictionary shortcut

When I received my first "X" it had a "user dictionary shortcut" on the home screen. I had to replace the phone  because of a screen problem.  When I got my replacement, it was missing the shortcut and I can not find a way to replace it.  Also none of my dictionary was saved. It was filled extensively with English and the beginning of several other languages. How do I replace the shortcut.  It was very useful not to have to go through settings and all that to make additions.  Any help would be appreciated.

From the home screen, touch Menu.
    Touch Add.
    Touch Shortcuts.
    Touch the shortcut type:
    Under:
    Settings
    Select User Dictionary.
    Select the shortcut.
Then that shortcut will appear on the home screen.

  • Why is there no automatic save button in the toolbar?

this is a very annoying omission. I like to save my work with a quick button instead of going through the "File" tab. Is there a way to get this on there?

Locate what you want to have a keyboard shortcut for and note it's exact spelling, upper and lower case.
    Then go to:
+Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts > click on little plus sign bottom left corner > Application: > Scroll right to the bottom > Other… > Locate Pages inside the iWork folder of the Applications folder > Select > Menu Title: > type exact name of menu item > Keyboard Shortcut: > type key combination required (make it unique) > Add+
You may need to restart the application but when you do it will have the keyboard shortcut against the menu item.

    Hi Scott,
    >> Do you happen to know where that PL/SQL shortcut came from? Created by you or an apex wizard?
The original shortcut was probably created by an APEX wizard, but then I changed its type to ‘PL/SQL Function Body’. The shortcuts are not included in the translatable components, so I need a function to determine the application language, and issue the message accordingly.
    >> The type of the shortcut is not part of that constraint
So changing the shortcut type back to the type I need, after the wizard finished its job, should not have any side effects. Correct?

I will post an enhancement request about including shortcuts in the translatable components, but I’ll appreciate you mention this issue also.

  • Error while using the 'Form and Report' wizard

    Hello,
I’m trying to create a form and report on EMP, using the APEX wizards, but I’m getting the following error message:

This is something local, on my APEX instance only, but any ideas what is wrong here?
    Thanks,

  • Can you help with automator & disk utility?

I'm trying to set up an automated "permissions repair" to run every night. I set up a workflow using automator and saved it as an iCal item. If I double-click on the resulting .app, or run from Automator, the workflow works as I expected, but all I find in the morning is an open Disk Utility with no repair performed & no error messages. Examining the log file confirms that nothing happened except the launch.
Here's what the wf does: Launch Application-Disk Utility, Watch Me Do-Click in the text "Macintosh HD" Click the "Repair DIsk Permissions" button, Pause-for 10 seconds, Play QuicKeys Shortcut-(types admin username, tab, admin password, enter).
Like I said, works just fine except when iCal runs it. What am I doing wrong?

..."I'm trying to set up an automated "permissions repair" to run every night."...
As others have mentioned, it shouldn't be necessary to "repair permissions" every night.
And if you are an administrator in charge computers used in a shared environment (eg. schools, libraries, a shared machine in a work place, etc.), I would go further and say that "repair permissions" should definitely not be run at all without verifying them first to make sure everything checks out, and certainly should not be automated unless some sort of verification routine is included.
With Leopard's version of "repair permissions", failure to exercise sufficient caution could allow even "standard" users to gain "root" level privileges.

  • Which Keyboard for my G5? Finding reviews & info has been ough. Need advice

Hi all. Forgive me for being a rank amateur.
I'm buying a G5 in the next few days and will be using Final Cut Pro 5 for my short film, which I shot last year. This will be a 5 minute short and was shot on MiniDV. My next short will be shot in HD, for those of you who want to know about future editing needs.
However, trying to figure out which keyboard to buy has been troublesome. I would like to buy one of the many shortcut type keyboards out there, but am unsure which is the best.
Finding reviews or information has been very tough.
Can I have your advice? I'm thinking I will not be going the wireless route, but then again, maybe I should?
Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks

    Matt,
I'm also fairly new to FCP and Macs and also asked on here about jog-shuttles. The advice given was that the jog only adds one more thing to control (along with the mouse and keyboard) and that it would be far easier to use FCP with just keyboard and mouse... and the shortcuts
BUT I was leant a jog and so tried it out - just to see what I thought myself of using 3 things.
Guess what? As always the advice given on here was correct. Now that I'm slowly learning all the shortcuts I'd never use a jog on my machine. I've also done what someone suggested on this thread - I've stuck up a sheet of paper with all the shortcuts. An absolute dream.
No need for jog or another keyboard. A bit of A4 paper will do ya best

  • Issues with users who accidently drag a menu item

Hi, I am a desktop support person and don't know much about how Java works, but I have a problem I think is Java related. Hoping someone will clue me in on what terms to use when troubleshooting this problem. Which is:
My company has a homegrown application that uses Java. When some of our users (and only some of them) click on a menu item and accidently hold it down and drag, a little shortcut type icon shows next to their pointer as they are moving and when they release, the entire program just errors out in the form of the URL turns in to "about.blank". They have to shut down IE and start over.
Can someone tell me what I can do to stop this behavior? We thought it was application related until we discover that it doesn't happen to everyone. So is there a setting in I/E or Java that needs to change?
Any clues at least as to what terms I can use to further research would be greatly appreciated.

What do you think the forum can do about it though?I think he was probably looking for some advice like what
you mentioned. He probably has a very frustrating job and
if he talked to the designers then he probably heard a line
of bull and some excuses. He probably expected us to tell
him that if IE was involved and there were windows with toolbars
that it could possibly be an applet written in java. He
probably needed to know that if this were the case (java applet
or something else) that there wouldn't be any external fix
that could be done and that in fact (as you mentioned) the
bug would have to be fixed in the software and re-deployed.
He also probably wanted some sympathy and it most likely is
a one time futile attempt for a shot in the dark solution.
I think he needed to know what you told him.

p.s. I've been wrong lots of times, especially when i make conjecture.
