i use oracle 10g form
i want show a dynamic image that create by cgi program on a url address
i used READ_IMAGE_FILE but by url address function din not wolrked
plz help me how can i show this type on image?

You can probably use Java Script at in the html which starts the form then pass the value into the form using a user define Form's parameter.

Gif images is not coming in oracle forms 9i under linux

A couple of suggestions -- put the image files in your FORMS90_PATH that is set in default.env, and also be aware of case-sensitivity of file names.

Problem in uploading xls/csv file with Email address through oracle forms

I've created an interface to upload data from xls
and csv files to database tables.
I'm sucessed in this. Now i'm facing an issue.
If the xls/csv file having Email address,the
upload activity is not working..junk characters is
getting stored.
I came to know that, xls .csv file having email
address with hiperlink. so this may cause the
issue (just guessing)..
we can't restrict users to upload email without
hiperlink.. so what is the alternative to do
this..

Problem in getting the image through URL

I facing the problem,Inwhich i am unable find the solution...I am using the following code to display the image

but the same thing(URL address) when i am copying on the browser it was displayig the image.
(what might be the reason)
one more thing when i commented on the url address and try to use the actual realpath address it was displaying the image with out any problem
can anybody give me the solution like where to keep my images by which i can able to get the images through url address

hi all,
I am getting the image from the server.but the problem is i am getting the Exception as ArrayOutOfBound exception.
It was displaying the Image for the first time.and when ever it was going for the second time in to the paint method it was displaying the IOException in reading the stream from the connection.
can anybody give me the solution in rectifying that exception.

I want to show Hint text at Text Item in Oracle Forms 6i.
when my cursor Focus goes at that item. I mean when I go with Tab key or Enter button then it show display text.
even though my mouse is not on that item.

Please create a display_item(for eg. Disp_Mess) just below the text field (For eg:-MyField) where you want to show hint. And then assighn Hint text to "DISP_MESS" in NEW-FORM-INSTANCE or at Initial value. Then create a PRE-TEXT-ITEM and POST-TEXT-ITEM trigger for MyField.

SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('DISP_MESS',VISIBLE,PROPERTY_TRUE);
--POST-TEXT-ITEM write following code.
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('DISP_MESS',VISIBLE,PROPERTY_FALSE);

Copy and Paste from Oracle Forms to Excel

Hi to All,
I ran into this unusal problem with one user. She is trying to copy data in a cell from oracle form to excel. She does control+c and tries to control+v in excel. The data does not get pasted.
I tried logging into oracle on her pc and do the same method. I get the same results.
We tried copy from the menu bar in oracle and go into excel , menu and do paste. And it does not paste.
I did a test from copy from word document to excel...that worked.
We tried a different pc and everything worked.
Is there a setting in oracle when i do a copy that is not copyin the cell correctly. Any tips how to resolve this problem.

If it only happens on one PC, then usually there is a problem with the PC showing the "yellow bars" when logging into Oracle Forms. Otherwise, there is a more global problem with unsigned JAR files on the server.

Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine: e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window. Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

When I open a second Firefox browser window, the URL address window, instead of showing the URL, says "Go to a Web Site;" also, and more importantly, the "back" button is greyed out. This is a new problem, and the first Firefox window I open works fine.

After I open the first Firefox browser window, any additional window I open does not open my homepage, but opens a blank page with "New Tab" showing on the tab. An orange "Firefox" tab with a drop down arrow shows at the upper left hand corner of the screen. All of the options (File, Edit, etc.) are greyed out, however they will work if you move your cursor over them.
The URL address window says "Go to a Web Site". After I've gone to a website, the back button remains greyed out and I am not able to go back to a previous page. My RoboForm and Netcraft toolbars only show up in an abbreviate form. The add-on bar doesn't show up at all.
Again, this is a recent problem, and only happens after I've opened one browser window (which works fine) and then open additional browser windows (as few as one additional).

I had this same problem. Seems to be caused by the web developer tool bar FF extension (this started happening after a recent update to that extension). After disabling it, my FF is back to normal :)

Do you need to uncomment one of the header() functions? Make sure
it is called before any text or whitespace is sent.

Oracle lite application not showing blob images in BI reports

Hi,
We have an application running in Oracle lite, we integrated the BI publisher reports (PDF reports are generated Using Data template and RTF file with Java API for BI publisher) with the application. Its been working fine for a long time.
Now we are showing some images on the pdf report, the images are stored in the Oracle lite database as blobs. My application fails when translating the Data template to xml data. I am not getting any exception other than out of memory error after a while.
anybody had the same problem? Let me know if you need more information on this problem.

That was exactly* I was looking for. Maybe I should Google more in German ;-)
The main problem was that I defined my image outside the first repeating group (that doesn't repeat, it's always just one object) - the first group is followed by 7 more.
Just like the "Name" (that's positioned outside the group in the document header), I positioned the image above the table representing the group.
Doing that, the "Name" is filled correctly, the Image only when the Output Format is Excel or HTML - not Word or PDF ... makes no sense but that's tje way it is.
After moving the image inside the group....it works great!
(One more thing...the image size is fixed to the image you use as "dummy". Is there any way to make that more flexible, because now some scaling happens...)???
@Trent: That was the way we initially did it, but when the size of the row exceeds 32K...you know what happens.. And even with a small image the 32K limit is hit easily
The way I use it now (very similar to Carsten's description) there is no limit....

Hover the cursor over that line until it becomes a big plus sign with arrows on the left and right. Click and drag the cursor so that the rest of the address line is the way you want it.
