Shuffle Audiobook doesn't work

Now, I'm sure that most people would never want to shuffle an audiobook, but when I did, I was suprised that the Suffle button didn't work.
It only played the first chapter before stopping playback alltogether. Starting at a random chapter, would play that chapter then stop as well.
On my iPhone, I can shuffle an audiobook, but not on iTunes, Why? or How?

My Shuffle does the opposite - kind of. When in shuffle mode, all songs shuffle as they should. When in continuous mode, all songs still shuffle.
No crashes, just always shuffling.
I used to wear it around my neck while working out and sweating profusely - which in turn, I believe, shorted some terminal out there or something.
Not sure of a fix for yours tho. Sorry. I have just learned to accept the sweet surprise of a new song each time.
BTW - what do you mean by "it crashes"? Turns off altogether?

Music App shuffle option doesn't work. I have already reset the iPad, removed all my music and resynched. Shuffle button is selectable, but just plays the songs in alphabetical order, even if I try to skip to another song or start anywhere on my playlist.
So far this version of music player for apple product is disappointing, the iTunes app before never had these issues. There are some serious bugs in this Music app, Apple your comback success was largely because of iPods and iTunes, so music is a big part of Apple users use, please fix this.

Yes I believe this is a known bug in Firefox OS v1.0. [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=883781 Bug 883781].
The bug is marked as resolved in Firefox OS v1.1. Once ZTE update the Open to v1.1 the bug will be fixed on your device.

IPOD Shuffle Just Doesn't work at all

My step daughter has an ipod shuffle, and when you press any button, the amber and green flash alternatively and the thing doesn't work. The computer doesn't even register that it is connected. I have tried other USB ports to no avail. Sometimes the computer recognises it, but states that the device is faulty. I can't therefore reset the thing. What is worng. Can anyone help me???????

Shuffle feature doesn't work

I click on the shuffle icon to try to shuffle songs in a playlist and it doesn't work. I tried editing preferences but nothing changes. If I click on the header labeled name it will sort them A to Z or Z to A but not shuffle. The shuffle feature does however work only on one of my playlists and that's one that only lists the name of the song with no other info in the other columns. Am I missing something here? Why would it shuffle only one playlist? I have the latest download of iTunes software, have and Ipod 30g and windows xp software.

New ipod shuffle remote doesn't work correctly

I've bought a player today, plugged in to USB port. iTunes proposed me to update to the latest version - I agreed. So I had the lates updates. When I try to increase volume using remote - it doesn't work. When I stop playing by using middle button then try to change volume level it is changed only for one step even if I pressed 20 times.... I think it's BIG bug...
Who knows is it can be fixed or not?

The shuffle control shows up when you touch the screen in album view. This brings up the scrubber bar, repeat control and shuffle control. The shuffle control appears as crossed arrows. When it is blue it is On. When it is white it is Off.

Shuffle Setting doesn't work after iPod update

After I update my iPod software my shuffle setting seems to only work on about half of my music. Formerly, when I had the shuffle setting turned to Songs it worked on everything, but since the update when I go to certain Genres or Playlists instead of saying 1 of 237 and playing them at random, instead it says 1 of 1, or 1 of 5, and that's it.
I can work around it by going first to settings and turning the shuffl off, then playing my list, then going back and turning the shuffle on and then heading down to Now Playing.
Is there any way to get that setting working normally again?

I had the same issue and worked around it the same way you have (start playlist, then select shuffle songs). I don't know if this will apply to you, but here's what I discovered. I had some tracks set to Skip when Shuffling, in my mind thinking those songs would be skipped when I shuffled the entire library, but I didn't realize that it would also skip those songs if they are in a playlist and you are doing Settings, Shuffle, Songs. (As opposed to the setting that Shuffles the whole library.)
Example: I have a playlist of Celtic songs, which I want to skip when I shuffle my "main" music library. But when I play the Celtic Playlist, I don't like to hear it in the same order every single time. I like to switch it up. So I'd put Settings to Shuffle and select Songs. And on my Playlist, it would say 1 of 1, instead of 1 of 27.
Check it out. I thought it was worth bringing up since your situation sounds so similar to mine.
(By the way...I continue to use the "work around" as you mentioned, so that I can still Shuffle my "main" library, which I don't include Celtic in.)

I trashed mine (iGB Shuffle) after many days spent. My shuffle just stop working one day. I tried everything from Apple website suggested 10 times at least. Still no good. I am an Information System professional. I deal with this kind of problems daily. But we all rely on the manufacturer to provide helps. AFter 90 days, you have to pay to be able to 'chat' online with support. I bought new Toshiba Gigabeat. Cheaper and 'IT WORKS'. So return the products and get your money back buy something else. good Luck!!!

The tunes installed on the Ipod won't play and when I run the diagnostics, it says the Ipod is not connected?

Shuffling Photos doesn't work

When I downloaded iOS 7, I noticed a feature that wasn't working right after I updated. I go to settings and I turn on the "Shuffle" feature when I play my slideshows, however once I start up a slideshow in the Photos app, the slideshow plays in order and does not randomize the photos. Is this a bug that needs to be worked out or am I missing something here?
I also tried it by turning Shuffle off, but as expected, it still did not work. Is there a fix or is there going to be a fix for this?

Old ipod shuffle, just doesn't work, is there anything I can do to get it to work?

I have a really old ipod shuffle, like the first one they came out with and I was wondering if there is a way to get it to work. It stopped working a while ago and my son wants one so I thought this would be a great first one for him. If I can get it to work! Please help me!!!

Shuffle Playist Doesn't Work Correctly

I have a problem with my play lists on iTunes, I click "shuffle" and it "technically" does what it is suppose to do (It re arranges the order of the play list, but the only other re arrangement is the one that I put in there). I want it to be able to shuffle music like it was intended to do, so if someone can help that'd be great.

If you sort on the very first column above the numbers and click Shuffle, the songs will get shuffled and played in that order.
If you are sorting on any other column and click Shuffle, the songs will stay sorted by that column but they will play shuffled (the playlist jumps around when playing).

Sound check doesn't work with shuffle

I can't get the sound check to work on my shuffle. I enabled it in iTunes, and it works fine for my music when playing with iTunes, but when I place the music on my shuffle it doesn't work, even though I have soundcheck enabled in the ipod settings.
I even 'restored' the shuffle and reloaded all my songs, and the sound check still didn't work. Help!

Sound check is basically useless. Hasn't worked effectively on any model I've purchased. However, as others have pointed out, you can adjust the volume of a song so that your playlists don't cause public embarrassment. Simply do a control "i" on a particular song. In the "info" tab, you can increase or decrease the volume of a particular tune. However, if you make the adjustment, be sure to adjust all of the tune from that album. Otherwise, when you play the album, the song you tweaked will have a different volume from the rest of tunes on the album. It ain't a great fix... but it's better than what the programmers have done with sound check.

Shuffle feature no longer working

Since I updated iTunes software, my shuffle feature doesn't work. If I choose a song to play, when it reaches the end it simply begins replaying the same song - endlessly. If I choose shuffle, it chooses a song at random and plays it - endlessly.
Any ideas?

have you got the 'repeat' logo set by accident. on the left hand side the arrows which go round will be blue rather than white?

IPod Shuffle 2nd Gen. not working, music plays but doesn't sync\

I have an iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen since a long time and it always worked perfectly. But now it has stopped working well. It has music stored inside and it plays it, it evencharges from the pc, but doesn't sync in iTunes, nor it shows up on Desktop. On iTunes the message in Italian says idt couldn't be identified and to reconnect the iPod and retry. I tried the Reset Utility but it says my iPod isn' supported even if it is a 2nd Gen iPod. The only positive thing is it shows up on System Profiler.
I tried also turning off the iPod for 5 seconds and turning it again on, but the issue is still there.
Have you got any suggestions?

Actually it turns out I can't even add to it. It claims it's synced to another library (which apparently is true, being as it was last used with my Macbook Pro). Somewhat new question, How do I combine the two libraries, as it's all mine, just on two different computers, one of which doesn't work unless it's in Hard Disk Mode.
