what i wann that when i run this code in netscape browser that it won't ask the user to download the plugin for the applet it should automatically download plz do me favour and send me solution thanks

Due to firewall issues I cannot state for certain if I am having a similar behaviour to yours. It appears that Netscape( 7.1 ) attempts to resolve to plugins.netscape.com irrespective of the pluginspage attribute ( if it resolves further I cannot see it due to firewalls ). IE appears to try and autoupdate ( based on the firewall challenges ).
You could try and provide a conditionally constructed link ( with information about the JRE failure ) to the JRE of choice between comment/embed/object elements. It is not the solution you asked for, but a potential alternative.

Why will my applet not run in a browser??

Hi,
I have recently converted a swing application to an applet for use on the web. The applet works perfectly when executed with appletviewer in the Command Prompt. However - when i open the html file - the browser tries to load the class but can't - the status bar at the bottom says "sample.class not found".
My browser is capable of running other applets - and the class file does exist in the same folder.
Can someone help with this??

If you have swing in your Java code then you need a
java plug-in. To test if you have a Java plug-in
installed go to:
http://home.comcast.net/~millennm/amex.html
Without the plug-in the AWT link works. But you need
the plug-in for the Swing link to work.

After I browse the sample of the above article, I think that it seems if my Applet didn't use swing , it will not need to download a Java plug-in when it execute in a browser. But my Applet still need to download a plug-in, why?

Java Applets not running in Any browser

Hi,
I have JRE / JSE (1.6.17) installed on a windows 7, 32 bit Intel Machine.
I am able to do all the programming and stuff (in Java), but when i try to open a web page with a Java Applet, it just does not show.
The page gives a message saying that an additional plugin is required.
I tried, Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer...all have the same problem.
The environment variables are correctly set.
This is something completely new for me, so would appreciate some help

I was actually referring to general applet loading.

Could not run the web browser

I've installed Reader 7.0.9 in order to read ebooks. When I try to activate the mobile device, reader responds with "Acrobat could not run the web browser. Unknown error. (0)". Is there a plug-in missing or corrupted control somewhere. Any suggestions. This is XP SP2 (and SP3) on a Dell Precision.
Any suggestions.

Let me amend my comment. Reader 7 might have been tested with XP SP2,
but with all the changes in the OS due to security changes, OS changes
and browser changes, Reader 8.1.3 or Reader 9 would be a better match to
your software.

Adobe Signing Server: Not Running

Hi
Actually it is not possible to fulfill downloads using our ACS4 server via ADE.
The error message given from ADE is: E_ADEPT_TIMEOUT.
The status check of the ACS4 server says
6 Adobe Signing Server: Not Running
Do you encounter similar problems or might this be a networking error in our environment?
Are there any known issues in the global ASC4 infrastructure at the moment?

It seems to me that eu signing service is not available:
PING on eusigningservice.adobe.com results in a timeout (EU Signing Service)
PING on nasigningservice.adobe.com is successful (North America Signing Service)
Do you experience the same issues or received any official information about the progress resolving this issue?

Quicktime plugin will not run in any browser including Safari! Help!

Quicktime plugin will NOT run in any browser. I've been reading a lot about this issue and it seems to be a widespread problem. I didn't have this issue a few weeks ago. perhaps it has something to do with OS 10.6.7? Help, desperate for a solution.

Post a URL? Not sure what you mean as it does not seem to be website specific. I can't view apple movie trailers on apple.com in Safari or Firefox. The plugins just are not there. I've download QT and it shows up in my Utilities folder but no where to be found within firefox plugins/add-ons - same goes for Safari but the plug-ins I do have ARE enabled. Each time I try, I get the install missing plugin prompt, which I do, and as stated before - nothing happens. I've read a lot about moving things in/out of internet plug-in folders in various places, preferences folders, etc. but no luck so far.

Signed Applet not loading on Mac OS X if using HTTPS protocol

I need to open a trusted applet on Mac OS 10.2. The applet works fine if using HTTP protocol. But if the protocol used is HTTPS the the applet does not loads and "javax.net.ssl.SSLException - untrusted server cert chain" exception comes on the console.
The error comes for both - Verisign and javakey - signed applet.
On seaching for possible solution on the net, i came across following link: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020525101202503&query=Workaround+for+secure+Java+applet+problems
It says that this is Mac's known bug and gives the workaround as:
1. Access the problematic site with Internet Explorer on Windows. Click on the padlock item and export the certificate to a file.
2. Copy the certificate to your Mac.
3. Use the command
sudo keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore /Library/Java/Home/lib/security/cacerts -file mycert.cer
to import the certificate file to your keystore (substitute mycert.cer with the name of the file containing the certificate). The keystore is password protected - the default password is "changeit".
4. Restart your browser
But the client cannot be asked to do all this to run the applet.
Is this problem being solved by Mac in their java implementation or is there any other possible solution?

I am experiencing the same problem - I notice it does not happen on OS9.2 using IE but appears a problem on all browsers on OSX

Signed applet not working in firefox - java.security.AccessControlException

I have a signed applet that works fine in IE 7 but in Firefox I'm getting this exception in the java console:
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission myhost.com resolve)
I already tried to run the applet with different JRE versions in Firefox with the same result: 1.6.0_01, 1.6.0_02, 1.6.0_03, 1.6.0_05
I'll appreciate your help.

using the browser to view Applet is not recomended that is because if u change the the source-code and recompile the applet then run it using the broswer it will run the old-version

Signed applet not working with weblogic 5.1

I have a problem with a signed applet. The applet is signed correctly
and it starts up the dynamic trust management console in java plugin
1.3.1_02 when accessed locally with the browser. But when trying to
access the applet through weblogic (5.1) the dynamic trust management
doesn't popup, as if the applet is not recognized as signed. In the
weblogic policy file in WLS I have set permissions to include the
applet class (AllPermission given to codeBase https://-, and file:/-
to be sure that it's not the problem).
I have tryed to run it under both http and https. I'm not making an
rmi connection back to WL. I'm simply trying to write on the local
file system with the applet.
The error received in the javaconsole is java.lang.SecurityException:

yeah. I noticed the same thing. now the splash screen comes on without the flashing green squares and just hangs. i tried unintalling and then reinstalling and still no go. kind of annoying but they will probably come out with an update pretty soon

Hello everyone I have a problem that is bugging me.
in my pc at home i have operating system window xp i have oracle9i installed and also java and j2ee and version of internet explorer is 6.0
.there is no proble running html pages but the problem is the applet are not running in the broweser even the java demo from sun is not running
.when i try to run the applet a dialog box appears and shows this
" jvm not find Download now" i do not have internet connection.
and one more thing i want to down load or save file in webserver
i donot know whether my pc is having default webserver but when i type this "http://localhost" a page of oracle is display listing jserver ,appache server and so many thing.
do i have a webserver that can be used by me for java program(adv java) or i have to get one .as i told you there is java1.3 and j2ee1_2_3
something like this i donot remember is there no default webserver along with them .how can i use them for my java programe .
let me remind you the applet not getting downloaded in the browser is a bigger problem for me.

browser.Error messages? Are you sure your setup is correct? Search. "Applet not working" usually has only a small range of reasons, all well-covered here.
2}why the oracle page is displayed when i type
"http://localhost".
Maybe because you have some Oracle webserver?
3} Do i have any default webbrowser in my system.Yes. The one that opens when you double-click on an HTML page.

Iam using a IE browser (Version 6.0).i can able to run all applets which is available in my local machine.but only my browser is not supporting to run the applet from server.

open java "plug-in"
go to the proxies tab and deselect use Browser settings..
now it will work fine

Can a thread created in an applet still run after the browser is closed?

Dear all,
I was able to make an applet's thread keep running even the web page changed to other page. Is it possible to make a thread spawned by an applet keep running even if the browser is close? I am using signed applet and JRE1.3.1_02. Thank for answer.

No. A thread is part of a process and if the browser closes that process will (generally) be destroyed.
