Significance of EVMD process

Version :10.2.0.4, 11.2
When i googled EVMD process, it returns lots of results which say
EVMD generates events when things happenCan somebody tell an important "thing" where evmd generates the so called "Event" ? I don't quite understand what an Event is

Hi,
EVMD is the event monitor, which supervises the cluster. If a database gets restarted, you get an event. If your node fails, you get an event ... etc.
See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/rac.112/e16795/hafeats.htm#RACAD7301
for more information on FAN (Fast Application Notification) which are exactly the events, which EVMD produces.
PS: If you have 10.2 or 11.1 you can use evmwatch -A to see the events.
Unfortunately this does not work anymore in 11.2.

  • Significance of Final Process Date

    Hi All,
Can somebody tell me why do we have the Final Process Date when the Payroll of the employee is not going to run
    beyond the Last Standard Process?
    Regards,
    Gayatri

    Hi Guys,
Its not any odd behaviour of the system. It all depends upon how you have defined your element.
In the element definition screen, there is a section for "Termination" which has 3 values namely Actual Termination, Final Close and Last Standard Process.
The element will behave according to this setting once the employee has been terminated. If it is configured as LSP(default), then element will be processed on or before LSP date.
For the case of Bonus, it would be better to set it as a Final close date.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
Using Core HR of Requirement you can achieve the following functionality.
    1) You Can create vacancy.
    2) You can create Candidate
    3) You can create applicant.
    4) You can conduct interview for the applicant.
    5) You can hire the applicant from core HR or SSHR.
In-short you can still achieve all the i-Rec basic functionality.

    hi
QM in process industry can have a significant difference from Normal Automobile or Production system.
    It can be
1.Batch manegment can  form significant part of Process Industry.
2.Recurring inspection is also  huge part of Process Industry
3.Inspection points along with sample drawing procedure in Inspection planning can be used in process industry.
4.Shelf life material as you mensioned is significant.-->stability study
5.Instead of Production orders Process order are used in Process industry.
These are more or less can be observed in any process industry.

  • What is process form data in controller

    hello friends,
what is process form data in controller? i can not see process form data when i created controller, what is the significance to use process form data in controller?exactly which scenario we can use in our OAF application?
as per jdevguide, i could not clear this below.
In most -- if not all -- of the pages that you build, you will have no cause to overwrite this method. In fact, the only use case we could think of is extremely unlikely in an OA Framework application: if the data source for a region is not a view object, so the view instance and attribute properties are not defined for the individual web beans, then you could code the region's processFormData() to write the child web bean data to the appropriate data source. Note: The OA Framework implements processFormData() at the item level, but you can overwrite it only at the region level, so you must process all of the region's items if you ever implement anything like this. If you do choose to implement something like this, remember to call super.processFormData(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean) first.
    Thanks
    krish.

  • Post processing errors in REM

    Hi Gurus,
What is significance of post processing in REM?
    We have 4 options.
    1)     MF45 u2013 Post process Individual
    2)     MF46 u2013 Post process Collective
    3)     MF47 u2013 Post processing list
    4)     COGI u2013 Post processing individual Components
I am able to use COGI and clear errors occurred in back flushing.
But cannot under above first 3 transactions.
System is taking to all materials where correction is needed for eg in MF47. When I select a material and change post processing record, taking me to screen of post processing list of component.
Here I observe that bell , Batch determination and Stock determination are disabled. Where as these are enabled in COGI. What can be the reason behind? Any settings missing in REM?
    Pl. help me.
    Srini

    Hi Srini,
To avoid this you can confirm the following things.
1.Ensure that suffecicient stock is available in the backflushing locations of each materail.
2.To prevent the generation of "post-processing list" you can block the BOM from getting backflushed if sufficient stock is not available in specified location for the BOM COMPONENTS. To do this change the "REM profile" to "002"in MRP4 view for the BOM MATERIAL.(if the profile is
not available you can crate it through SPRO).
    3. To clear the existing Backlog use transcation MF47 and re-process(be ensure that required stocks is
    available for each bom component)
Hope it will solve ur problem.

  • $DM_APP$ and $DM_DB$ processes

    Hi,
What are the DM_APP and DM_DB processes we see in an Essbase UNIX environment.
    Please help me out here.
Significance of these processes are not found in the DBA guide PDF.
    Thanks,
    Anindyo

    Hey,
    Thanks for your response.
I understand that these are essential processes and they need to be around when any request comes in to pull data (thats when I observed these processes getting created).
I also have faced issues while renaming cubes as you mentioned.
When I faced this issue with the rename, I actually killed these processes and the rename worked.
I am guessing that these are created when the app is started/connected to.
I was trying to understand the purpose of these better as I am doing an RCA which is killing me.
Thanks again for your inputs here.

  • Running two Process Flows

    Hi All,
I have created two different process flows and configured them with one scheduler is it a gud idea to schedule to process flows using a single scheduler job.

You can always utilize Oracle resource for parallel processing.
This will surely work but again this has a lot to do with your hardware configuration.
By saying Hardware Configuration, I mean to say the server capabilities.
Once I tried out running 2 process flow with single scheduler, but due to lower end server, there was no significant change in processing time.
Rather I should say, it took more time..

  • One query on Checkpoint process

    Hi All,
Could anyone please tell me what is the significance of checkpoint process or any other mandatory processes at database mount stage. Appreciate if you refer me any doc on this subject.
    Thanks in advance
    Shaan

Thanks to both the above comments.
I did think about the data clustering but I kept
coming back to why the optimizer on 'A' said "I want
a full table scan" and 'B' says, "oh hey, there's an
index, I'll use that".This has nothing to do with clustering data.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/statviews_1069.htm#i1578369 - look for 'Clustering Factor'
    Also see Note:39836.1
IN a nutshell - it tells the system how bad an index could be when considering the organization of the table. A table (not index) reorg could easily change the clustering factor, give the same index for the same table with exactly the same data (but different row order) a completely different value.

  • Start Processing for Documents

    Dear Expert ,
In IMG activity there is node called 'Start Processing for Documents' under General Data of Document management system. Now anyone can explain me significance of that process or nod in DMS with one business scenario.
    Regards
    Bhuwan Tiwari

    Hi Bhuwan
One of the process u can add is the Mass deletion Indicator for the DIR s from the Search function.
Use function module DMS_PROC_DOC_DELETE in the "Start processing" node
If u enabale this, in cv04n results screen, u can see a button called Process and using the same you can set Mass deletion indicators for DIR's

  • Significance of deliveries in STOs

    Hi
Please explain the significance and the process when deliveries used in STO processes
    Reagrds
    Jupudi

    Hi Jupudi,
a lot of companies want to have the same kind of documentation for a goods issue for an STO as they have it with a delivery for a sales order.
    Process:
    1. create STO (ME21N)
    2. create delivery (VL10B/VL10D/VL10F etc)
    3. PGI (VL02N, VL06G, VL06O)
    4. PGR against the delivery to correctly update document flow (MIGO). In case of a one step STO the PGR is done automatically when doing PGI
    5. cross company STO: create intercompany billing doc (VF01)
    6. cross company STO: create invoice for PO (MIRO)
You need to set up sales views for the materials affected, and execute the IMG activities for STOs (OLME -> Purchase Order -> Set up Stock Transport Order). These steps and the process is really just the basics, you can complicate it if you want.
Please also search the forum, I'm pretty sure you'll find more than enough threads
    Cheers,
    Attila

  • Process determination Rules

    Hello all,
iam trying to understand the significance of the "Process determination Rules" tab under resource object is? i understand i can assign rules here which i have defined in the rule builder screen . what i want to know what effect will it have on any reconciliation that will be done for this resource?
    thanks

Each resource object is comprised of one (or more) provisioning process and potentially
    one (or more) approval process.
The resource object definition serves as a template to be referenced
when the resource is being provisioned to users or organizations. Since the resource
definition may be linked to multiple approval and provisioning processes, Oracle
Identity Manager must know which approval process and provisioning process to
execute when the resource is requested or direct provisioned to users or organizations.
This determination is made using the use of process determination rules.
    Thanks,
    Devendra

  • MacBook Pro retina 13" (late 2013, Haswell) why is the highest resolution rendered in 3360x2100, which the system obviously can't handle?!

    Hey Apple and Apple users,
I just recently switched from an MacBook Air (mid 2013) to the new Haswell MacBook Pro retina 13" (late 2013 model).
The main reason to do so was the better screen and the option to run higher scaled resolutions, as advertised.
I was willing to trade in the Air's low weight, smaller formfactor and the extra batterylife for the better screen.
    When it comes to resolutions:
1280x800 is just a joke nowadays, why is the MacBook Pro still based on it? 13" and 1440x900 work quite fine...see MacBook Air.
1440x900 is okay in everyday life situations, but sometimes you just need "more space" as the third scaling option calls it as well in the display-settings.
1680x1050 on 13" can sometimes be challenging, but it is really fine if you need to work and have a lot UI elements to deal with (Photoshop etc.)
So 1680x1050 scaled on the 2560x1600 screen would be my daily driver for work. So I expected a scaling factor of "1.5238..." (2560/1680) will be used most of the time.
Frankly spoken...I am really disappointed by the 13" retina MacBook Pro and the way OS X Mavericks is handling the scaling.
It obiously works well and responsive with the 1280x800 non-scaling resolution ("best for retina, scaling factor 2: 1280 --> 2560).
    Is still "okay-snappy" at 1440x900 (scaling factor 1.777...: 1440 --> 2560).
But it totally breaks down at 1680x1050 (scaling factor 1.523...: 1680 --> 2560).
I use "Mission Control" all the time and it is stuttering and slow...overall a sluggish and unbearable experience.
The same goes for Desktop-Switching by swiping the screens or resizing and moving windows and files around.
So I was wondering why...and then I noticed that when taking a screenshot of my entire screen (CMD + 3) the image size of the screenshot was 3360x2100 and not the expected 2560x1600.
This means Mavericks is not scaling the UI with the appropriate factor (see above). For retina MacBooks it ist simply rendering one pixel of the classic, non-retina Interface in now 4 pixels (2x2) and sending this straight to the screen, which then "scales" it down to the resolution it is able to display.
Why is this bothering me? – Because the machine has to do a lot more work to render the higher resolution that can't even be displayed, due to the screens limitations.
    2560x1600 = 4096000 pixels = 100%
    3360x2100 = 7056000 pixels = 172%
This means the MacBook has to render 72% more information than actually can be displayed on the built-in screen and are just lost.
Of course this makes the overall UI feel sluggish and idly! Especially with the not that performant Intel Iris IGP and no dedicated graphics card.
All this extra "rendering" just results in a worse battery life due to the extra work that the graphics card and CPU have to do.
First, Apple...are you serious about this?
What can we do about this?
Is there a way to have this properly scaled?
    Thanks in advance to everyone.

Okay...I thought deeply about this issue.
Even looking into ways to maybe fixing this on the software side. But it occured to me that this is to deeply embedded into the system that it won't be possbile to come up with a sufficient third-party solution.taht
The problem is that there is no intermediate step inbetween "standard DPI" graphics and "HiDPI" (image-resources named "[email protected]").
But there should be one, to minimize the amount of image information that needs to be processed by the device.
This effects especially the MacBook Pro retina 13", as it has the less powerful Intel Iris IGP, when performing on the highest scaled resolution (equivalent to 1650x1080).
As well as the MacBook Pro retina 15" without a dedicated, second Graphics Unit, when performing on the highest possible scaled resolution (equivalent to 1920x1200).
Those devices don't have enough resources to handle the consequential "HiDPI" resolutions of 3360x2100 for the 13" and 3840x2400 for the 15" model.
(Comment: 3840x2400 = 9,2MP, which is more than the standard 4K resolution of 3840x2160.
I analyzed the scaling factors as follows:
Factor "2" to display 1280x800 on the 13" model and 1440x900 on the 15" model in HiDPI.
Factor "1.777..." would be required to display 1440x900 on the 2560x1600 screen of the 13" model.
Factor "1.714..." would be required to display 1650x1080 on the 2880x1800 screen of the 15" model.
Factor "1.523..." would be required to display 1650x1080 on the 2560x1600 screen of the 13" model.
Factor "1.5" would be required to display 1920x1200 on the 2800x1800 screen of the 15" model.
As all the models seem to have no problem with rendering the intermediate scaling step (1440x900 for the 13" and 1680x1050 for the 15" model) at HiDPI, hence with the scaling factor 2. There is no real need to provide the UI-elements.
But in my opinion there is a strong need for a "MidDPI" ([email protected]) intermediate step for all the UI graphic elements that wis based on the scaling factor 1.5.
This would result in the following:
13" MacBook Pro retina with 2560x1600 screen:
    1280x 800 @ 2x = 2560x1600 (no surplus, native screen resolution)
1440x 900 @ 2x = 2880x1800 (the surplus of 1088000px = ~1MP can still be handled and compansated by the weak Iris IGP)
    1680x1050 @ 2x = 3360x2100 (the surplus of 2960000px = ~3MP is too much for the weak Iris IGP)
    NEW 1680x1050 @ 1.5x = 2520x1575 (with a small border of left=20px, bottom=13, right=20, top=12 pixels, which means ~2,2mm and ~1.3mm around the 1.5x scaled image!).
15" MacBook Pro retina with 2880x1800 screen:
    1440x900 @ 2x = 2880x1800 (no surplus, native screen resolution)
1680x1050 @ 2x = 3360x2100 (the surplus of 1872000px = ~2MP can still be handled by the Iris Pro IGP)
    1920x1200 @ 2x = 3840x2400 (the surplus of 4032000px = ~4MP can't be handled sufficiently by the Iris Pro IGP)
NEW 1920x1200 @ 1.5x = 2800x1800 (nu surplus, native screen resolution, no border needed!)
The big advantage is that all the graphics have already been remodeled for the HiDPI mode.
So scaling those "factor 2x" images down to "factor 1.5x" should be comparably easy!
    Example:
Left: Traditional "standard DPI" icon of "all my files".
Right: "@2x.png" for the "HiDPI" modes.
Middle: "@1.5x.png" suggestions for the "MidDPI" mode; easily scaled down from the lovely HiDPI graphics.
With this simple introduction of the "MidDPI" modes a significant amount of processing power can be saved.
This not only improves battery life when driving those higher scaled resolutions, but also lets the user access those resources for what really matters: processing power for the primary job that the Mac needs to get done.
    Thanks in advance.
