Silly Podcast approval question

Ok this might be a silly question but when I submit a Podcast to my Podcast Producer server and choose to submit for approval it does the work and an email is sent to me telling me that it has been submitted for approval and the path to the files. That's all good so far - My question -
What am I supposed to do to approve or reject the podcast??????
Thanks in advance
Gary Finch

It's a completely manual process right now. You'd have to take the stored recording and resubmit it through Podcast Capture (or some other means) if it's approved, or do nothing if it's not!

  • How quickly to get a podcast approved?

What kind of time frame does it take to get a podcast approved? Is it hours, days, weeks, etc... It is my first podcast and the client it hoping to have it out there within 3 days and I would like to let him know if that is even reasonable.
    Thanks

If it's an audio podcast then you can eithet stop it (via the pause) control in the iPod app, or you can use the audio controls on the taskar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and there should be rewind, play/pause, and forward icons.

  • Podcast Art Question

    Hi all,
Ultra newbie here with probably an obvious question.  I recently submitted two separate podcasts to iTunes, and they both seem to be up and running in the store.  Right now, the art that goes with them is not there--just the generic podcast icon.  I gather from what I've seen on this forum that this is pretty much par for the course--the podcast goes live long before the associated cover art appears in iTunes.  In both cases, when I submitted my feed (I'm using Feedburner), the art popped up on the confirmation page, so I assume all is basically well.
I have two slightly more subtle questions, though.  First, I've subscribed to both podcasts myself to make sure they would download okay, and they do.  In the case of the first one (the art of rhetoric one), it even shows up with the cover art, even though it doesn't appear in the iTunes store yet (which, I assume, means it's just a matter of time before it *does* show up).  With the second podcast, however, the episode downloads, but unlike the other podcast, the art doesn't get downloaded with it--just the same old podcast icon.  Is this just a fluke, or is this cause for concern that there's something wrong with the image?
A second minor question is that with the art of rhetoric podcast (i.e., the one that *does* download the cover art with the episode), the art appears, but the right and left edges are cut off just a bit.  I thought I had been incredibly careful to format the jpeg to be precisely square at 300 x 300 (the numbers I saw recommended by iTunes).  It's easy enough to rejigger the jpeg to allow for more margin space, if that's necessary.  The question is this: if I change the link to this cover art jpeg with Feedburner, will it then automatically change (eventually) in iTunes?
Below are the itunes links to the two podcasts.
Thanks in advance for helping out a newbie!

    Hi again,
I *think* I've figured out the problem.  I was a bit thrown by the note that there wasn't a media file associated with the new Rhetoric episode since I had certainly uploaded one, but thanks to your prodding, I went back and figured out (probably) what the source of confusion was.
When setting up my podcast feed using the combo of Blogger and Feedburner, the instructions said to make sure to show the link dialog box in the header for each new blog post associated with the podcast in addition to the title.  I did that and was dutifully including a link to the media file in that dialog box when making a new post.  I had assumed that this was the link that "assocated" the linked media file with the blog post (and, hence, the feed generated by feedburner).
That seems to have worked in the posts for the "Headlines" podcast, but in the Rhetoric podcast, I noticed that I had also linked to the media file in the text of the blog post itself, not just in the link dialog at the top, in the first post.  In the second one, I had not.  When I viewed my feed details in Feedburner, I was given the option to "Play Now" the podcast for the first lecture, but not the second.  I went back and included a link to the media file in the actual text of the blog post for the second lecture, and went back to Feedburner.  Now, I was given the "Play Now" option for both lectures.  I assumes his means that now there truly is a media file associated with this post, and next time iTunes checks, things will be hunky dory.  We'll see.
I'm still not quite sure why I had to link to the media file in the text of the blog post for one feed, but don't seem to have needed to do that with the other.  It's not a problem to do so, but I'd be a bit more comfortable if I knew why this was the case.
At any rate, thanks again for the help.  I'll likely have more questions as things continue, but I'm keeping fingers crossed that I've managed to get things up and going now at long last.
    Cheers,
    Ted

  • SIlly NTSC monitor question

This may be a silly question but,
When viewing footage on an NTSC monitor, my footage looks quite different than it does in FCP on the computer screen. If I do color correction just based on the NTSC monitor for DVD output, will that DVD look the same once played on a regular DVD/TV and played on a computer's DVD player?
I ask because when I'm viewing footage on my NTSC monitor, it looks way different on my computer screen and I want my DVDs to look good whether they are played on a regular TV dor though a computer's DVD player.
    Thanks

Now you've done it-- opened a whole can o' worms. Lots to consider:
Is your monitor truly a monitor, properly calibrated and set up? Will you be looking at the dvd on the same monitor? Are all the sets to be used for playback set up the same?
The idea of a properly calibrated monitor is that your show should look the same on your monitor as on any other properly calibrated monitor. But that's as far as it goes. There's no accounting for anyone else's tv set. Often manufacturers paint them "hot" and then people crank them even more to overcome less than ideal viewing conditions. So you're doubly hosed from the moment is leaves your hands.
The best you can do is create a show that looks good on a properly set up system and hope for the best.
But don't just rely on the monitor-- learn and use the scopes too.
And then there is the current manufacturers situation with monitors themselves. The industry is in a mess right now, transitioning to lcd-- none of which look really good. I hope Zebulon chimes in here-- a professional engineer who will tell you horror stories if he's in the mood.
And back to your original concern, do not trust your computer monitor in FCP for accurate color or much of anything else except your edits.

  • Podcast approval?

I am currently trying to get my second podcast up on itunes.  This is the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/societyc3.   I know the feed works, and it successfully submitted and I got that email from itunes, but it's been nearly a week and I haven't heard anything else.  Aprroval or denial.  Do they contact you to let you know if it's denied?   Last time I got the approval email the following day.
    Thanks

It can sometimes take several weeks for a podcast to go through the acceptance process. When it is accepted (or rejected, though hopefully that won't be the case) you will get an email telling you so.

  • Podcast approval no response

Most of my submitted podcasts got approval in 1-2 days, except those two:
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/cctvglobal_soccervideo
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/cctvexploringvideo
I wonder why I never got response back for them. Please take a look, thanks.

Neither podcast will be accepted: a login is required to view the episodes and iTunes does not allow this. You need to make the files directly accessible.
Other than this your feeds are mostly OK, though FeedValidator does throw up some minor errors you might want to look at. The only important one is that in the feed at
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/cctvexploringvideo
you have managed to duplicate the episode '第一犁——纪念中国农垦事业发展建设60年(一)' - this isn't actually serious as it would simply be ignored.

  • Podcast approval time

I just submitted a podcast for the first time. What is a benchmark for how long it will take before I know if it was approved or not? Just curious what the average is.

I can't answer from experience - mine went up three years ago and I don't remember how long it took - but the assessment process is manual, and there are an awful lot of podcast out there, so I wouldn't be surprised if it took a couple of weeks at a guess.

  • Podcast Approval times (waiting in limbo)

    Greetings all,
I have created a new podcast and have about 8 Episodes now. I use soundcloud.com to host my content and well as the rss feed link.
I have submitted my podcast to iTunes over a month ago. I have not got any word back about my approval status.
I have looked on line for answers, and have tried to contact support directly (email said i'd receive a response in 48 hours, that was a week ago.)
Can some one help me out, what more can I do? Is the approval process really over a month long wait?

Your podcast will have been rejected, though you should have received an email telling you so.
The issue is the podcast image: it is 1400 x 1400 px as specified, but it is also 1.2MB. This is far too large - it must be less than 500kB. You need to remake the image with more compression to get the file size down, then resubmit.
When you do so you may fall over a bug in the system which will tell you the feed has already been submitted. If this happens you will need to change the title slightly (you can change it back once accepted).
Make sure that any emails from the Store are coming to a functioning email address and are not getting spam-trapped.

  • Approver question for CUP

    Hi GRC guru's
As we are in the process of customizing CUP ,I have couple of questions so kindly help me out here
    1. When requestor select roles which belong different approvers how does the request gets processed
example roles selected are Z_XYZ  who's  role approver is Tom and second role Z_ABC with role approver  John , how is this request handled ?
    2. When you run risk anlysisin CUP  and you find out that there are risks  and there is no mitiagtion control in RAR for risk produced , how will the approver proceed ? should he go back and perform the mitigation in RAR and  then mitiagte the risk in CUP or is there a way to mitigate the new risk in CUP which can then be automaticallly pushed to RAR ?
    3. Is there way to populate user group in the access request form  and is there way to populate the license type in CUP?
Kindly clear my doubts ,Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Keith.

    Hi Alpesh and all
I would like to follow up with your answer to Keith's question below.
    1. When requestor select roles which belong different approvers how does the request gets processed
example roles selected are Z_XYZ who's role approver is Tom and second role Z_ABC with role approver John , how is this request handled ? Both the role owner would get email and can approve the request at same time. Unless untill both these approvers approve/reject the request, request can not move to next stage.
    My question,
Is there a way to allow users to submit one request with 2 roles with different approvers, if the 1st approver approved the role,  the 1st role to be provisioned to immediately without having to wait for the 2nd approver to approve the 2nd role?
The two roles both satisfy the critiria of the same initiator (attribute Role, and both roles are in the role list).  Since the roles fall under the same path and stage (only 1 role owern approval stage), I noticed the 1st approved role was not provisioned until the 2nd role is approved.     Is there a way to work arond that?   It make sense to go ahead provision the 1st role without having to waiting for the 2nd role to be approved or rejected.   The roles have the same approval requirement so they should use the same initiator and workflow path.
If you or anybody knows the work around, I would appreciate your sharing the info.
    Thanks.
    p.s.
I did a test to submit a request with 2 roles, each role satisfy a different workflow initiator therefore different paths are used.   1st role was approved through 1st path and provisioned immediately  while 2nd role was waiting in approval stage in the 2nd path.   The request is closed once both path were completed.

  • Podcast Approved.....Then Rejected.

Submitted a Podcast a few days ago. It got approved, then the next morning I got an email saying it was rejected and all my episodes were taken down right away. I didn't really change anything other the just some basic information. What is my best course of action? Try to resubmit it?

It's frustrating that when the Store staff reject a podcast they never actually say why.
Possible reasons include technical problems, failure to update, strong language when the 'explicit' tag is not set to 'yes' (which yours is), copyright violation, racism, and unacceptable content (for example the sort of unpleasant photographs people get arrested for owning - I'm not suggesting you've done this!).
If you feel like publishing your feed URL it may be possible to offer specific comments. Apart from that, a common reason for rejection is people posting 'mixes' of commercially available recordings without clearance.
You should look at your podcast to try to determine if there is a problem, and when you think you have corrected it, submit it anew. There is a bug in the automated process which will tell you that a podcast of that name has already been submitted (which is true but takes no account of its rejection) so you will need to make a small change to the title: you can always change it back when the podcast has been accepted. If you can change the feed filename that may also be a good idea, but depending on how you've created the feed it's not always possible.

  • Guided Procedure Visual Approval Question

    Hi,
I'm developing an action that call a Visual Approval user interface.
    I have 3 questions:
    1) When I click in Approve or Reject button the action is completed and this message is displayed:
    (information icon)Action has been completed
I want to display a screen like a summary screen with the information about each step. It's possible with standard templates like Visual Approval?
    2) If I click in Reject button, where I know that these action was repproved?
    3) Can I get the buttons (Approve or Reject) value in another screen (like grouping parameters)?
    Thanks,

    Hi Manoel,
1.After the visual approval CO is executed the screen will be only as you specified, it is predifined and you cannot change it.If you want to display some summary you got to create another CO and add it in the same block and the result state of the Visual approval should be assigned to the new CO for display.
2 . Upon clicking the reject button the control will flow to the action specified in the result state of the reject button.
    3. Instead on using a Visual approval if you use a webdynpro CO this is possible. While setting the result state you can set the value as the out put of the co and do parameter mapping to get it in the next CO.
    Let us know the result....

  • Video Podcast problem/question

    Hey gang.
Just got my new 5'th gen iPod - very cool
Although I'm having some problems with the video Podcasts - after downloading i.e. the "Photoshop TV Episode 3" to my computer, and run an "Update iPod", I can't find the movie in either 'Video->Movies', 'Video->Video Podcasts' or 'Video->Music Videos'.
I finally found it under 'Video Playlists'->'Recently Added'.
It has 'Podcast' set at Genre in iTunes, and 'Options->Video Kind' is dimmed out (.m4v file)
Question is - how on earth do I get to figure under 'Video->Video Podcasts' or at least 'Video->Movies'?!?!?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the response!
I am assuming that if one podcast plays (in a series), they should all play (in that series). In some cases there are three or four installments of something that I would like to view, and sometimes two show up, but not all of them. When I go into 'manual' mode, sometimes it gets weird and says that 'the drive is locked'...
Also, I have put files of my own into iTunes, and it has told me that those files are indeed not compatible and recompressed them. So I would hope if the files were not compatible it would tell me, and not just copy them over to the device and not play them.
    Thanks for the response!

  • AME duplicate approver question

    Hi all,
I am working on iprocurement module in Oracle R12 and using AME for PR approval process.
May I know for the following two approval situations (Assume all approvers are in the same approval category):
    1. A->B->C->B, can I just keep the last occurrence of approver B and make the approval matrix become A->C->B? Seems the configuration variable "repeatedApprovers" will make the matrix become A->B->C
    2. Only remove the duplicate approver in the next step. ie. A->B->B->C will become A->B->C, but A->B->C->B will remain unchange.
    Thanks in advance.

  • A Newbie HD Podcast Download Question ... Help Request

I have an 80GB video iPod. I've successfully subscribed to a number of video podcasts and can download/play them without difficulty. However, I'm interested in subscribing to an HD podcast (a London, England landscape podcast that is only published in HD format). For some reason, I keep receiving an error message that indicates that I can't play this on my iPod ... so it doesn't download. Am I doing something wrong or are these simply not compatible with my iPod? Thanks for any help you can offer up!

While I'm a stout supporter of DW, it's recordset functions are sorely lacking and you will do yourself a huge favor by learning how to write the query yourself.  In this scenario you need to run a query with the WHERE statement of "WHERE {id user selects} = AlbumID".  That result will return many results, I assume.  The way the SQL query works is it returns the value into an array.  The following is a tutorial going over the basics of a while loop with SQL queries:
    http://www.tizag.com/mysqlTutorial/mysqlfetcharray.php
If you have any issues or questions trying to implement that loop feel free to post back.  But having that understanding will help in trying to explain anything in further detail if you run into issues.

  • Credit/Loan Approval Questions

Need some help on what to do to with my credit to get best interest rate. So my current scores showing in MyFico are 603, 612 and 615. Fico Auto 8 score is 629. This past weekend I was at a dealership and they pulled my credit giving me a 583? Why would there be a difference?  Here's the situation.Have about 4,800 left on a car payment that has about 16 months left, interest rate was around 1.9% This is my oldest account- opened in 2011. I just read that you should keep your oldest account opened. I have about 4,700 in credit cards with the limits totalling 5,500 - I know this is high utilziation. I will have access to 5k in cash in about a month. I cannot decide what would be the best route. Should I pay off my car or pay off credit cards? Which would look better?I am leaning toward credit cards. I had a collection account that I just paid off this past month that was about $700 which is still showing as not paid - it should be updated soon - but I'm sure that will get me declined until that is updated as paid. Current payment is $310 My current income is about 2,600 per month. I don't have rent or mortage payment. I am wanting to finance for about 38-40k Would it be better to take that 5k and put as a down payment? Or maybe even pay enough to get credit cards under 30%? I also have a student loan that is in defferenment until 2018 - will this be taken into consideration to be approved? If so how do they factor this in? I have a co-signer with about 2,600 per month also if needed. What would give me the best credit profile to be approved with the best rate?To add - I want a Jeep Wrangler - does anyone know how hard or what kind of score you need to get good financing?

    Southernchic wrote:
I typed the income part wrong it's about 70k combined (minimum as it can be more as my other half frequently works overtime but I've heard they only count your base income?) 1.9 would be nice but I'm not expecting to get 1.9% as circumstances were different when I got that, I think under 5 % would be do able. I was simply asking does it matter to the banks of you already have a car payment when you try to get one? And what would be the best solution. I've read you won't be approved with multiple auto loans but I've also read you shouldn't pay off or close your longest open account which is what my car loan would be. So I guess Paying off credit cards (12% rates) would be the best. I am hoping to get lower than 38-40k but I just put that out there as a max. What about the collection accounts that have been paid - will that be an automatic decline? I just checked and that account has been updated showing a zero balance but it says agreed to pay for less than full amount, this is incorrect as the original amount was wrong and I paid the correct amount we agreed to. Should I dispute this, how will that look to banks? My wife and I actually just bought her a brand new Jeep Wrangler last month so I'll give you our experience. Our combined incoming is currently around 74k. We did file for a chapter 7 bankruptcy last year so our situation may be a little different. We had trouble getting approved because neither one of us had experience with car loan above 20k. Our scores were in the 640s/650s. Under 10% credit card utilization. We ended up having to have her dad co-sign on the loan with her through Ally Financial for 37k, 1k down at 6.9%. And he has a mid-700 score 150k income. We're hoping to refinance with Navy Fed ASAP.  Absolutely pay the credit cards down. To boost your score, one card should be reporting less than 10% balance, and the others zero. This will give you your best chance. And the reporting is correct if you did settle for anything less than the full amount owed.
