Silverlight max 4.7

I have just installed Labview 2010 and max 4.7. When I have restart computer and get in to Max and select one remote system, it came up that I need to install Microsoft Silverlight. I did that and restart computer, but when I open Max I get an error message. It's something about a script and when I have click OK buttons it's only appear a blue circle and 100%. See attachment and after a while MAX freeze. I have repair Max and reinstalled Silverlight. WHAT'S WRONG? (I'm sorry that some of the dialog are in swedish). Silverlight works fine on Microsoft webpage.

Dear Mosbif,
some days ago I have installed the LabVIEW 2010 DS2 and I got an analogous error when with MAX 4.7.0f4 I tried to retrieve remote target settings.
In my case I got two kind of message:
- Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application ... and so on ...
- Unhandled exception in Network Configuration Extension ... and so on ...
The second only for the Network Settings.
It's something about an error in the script and when I have clicked both the NO button or the YES button, it's only appeared a blue circle and 100%.
My system is:
LabView 2010 DS2
+ FPGA 2010
+ Real-Time 2010
The OS is
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 - Italian
Microsoft Silverlight 4.0.50524.0 - 2010
I have open a local support call.
I read your post and I tried the workaround that you suggested and in my case it works fine!
Particularly, I have changed the "Regional and Language options" from Italian to English and now MAX 4.7.0f4 works fine.
I tried to switch back the "Regional and Language options" from English to Italian and the error is back here.
I tried also the proposed Silverlight demo, and it works fine both in Italian and in English.
I hope that NI will solve it, the "Regional and Language options" are very important for data saving, in Italian the decimal point is the comma.
Thank you very much for your workaround suggestion.

  • Remote system disconnected after installing MAX 4.7.3

    Hello!
This topic is related to the topic you can find here.
In order to repair the Regional Settings issue in Windows (XP in my case) I used the System Configuration 1.1.3 update and it seems to work. I changed the Regional Settings to my local and installed the update. Silverlight does not crash anymore, so that is fixed. However, this created a new issue:
Now my remote devices (NI-1742 and NI-1746) status is always "disconnected". The devices are connected to a different subnet than the development computer. Pinging their IPs showed that they are there. I can connect to the cameras using the Real-time Project. However, in MAX the remote system status remains "disconnected". I tried to delete and re-create the devices in MAX but that did not work either.
I also tried the latter with Windows firewall on and off and updated the software with NI Update Service. On an another computer, which has not had the update yet, I can connect to and modify the devices.
In addition, I completely reinstalled the development system, but the issue persists.
    Kind regards,
    Mart
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hey Mart,
It looks like this may be related to a possible bug introduced in MAX 4.7.3. I've uploaded Juurma.zip to our FTP site. Please obtain this .zip file by navigating to ftp://ftp.ni.com/outgoing.
This .zip file contains a patched version of mxRmCfg.dll. First, close all NI software and stop the NI System Web Server service and all its dependencies (you can get to your services by going to Start->Run and typing in services.msc). Then, navigate to this directory: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\MAX\Bin
You will need to rename the existing mxRmCfg.dll to mxRmCfg.bak, and copy the new version to that location. Restart your system, open MAX, and see if you can connect to and view your targets.
If this resolves your issue, PLEASE post back in this thread indicating as much. If not, let us know and we'll continue to investigate. Note that items on our FTP server will be removed after 48 hours, so let me know if you're unable to get that file in time

  • LabView installer problem : undetected CRIO in MAX

    Hello,
I'm working on a data acquisition project in LabView 2010 SP1 composed by a LabView Host program (XP SP3 PC) and a CRIO acquisition module. They communicate together through Shared Variables and Network Streaming.
I made an installer of my Host project composed by: runtime 2010 SP1, MAX, NI-RIO 3.6.0 driver and Microsoft Silverlight .
I created this installer on my Dev PC and installed it to a Client PC (see the joint image). The whole program works on the Client PC and the data exchange (Shared Variables and Network Streaming) is OK.
The problem is that the CRIO is not detected by MAX in Remote Devices. On the other hand, when I use the NI Network Browser, it works well (it detects the CRIO).
The other problem is that, even if I have installed the NI-RIO 3.6.0 driver, the RIO Device Setup is not present on the Client PC.
If I install all the standard drivers from the NI device Drivers DVD, it installs everything and then the CRIO is well detected and the RIO Device Setup is also installed.
My conclusion is that I haven't included all the necessary packages in my installer.
What are the necessary components to install in order to have:
    the CRIO fully detected
    the RIO device setup installed
Must I also install some DAQmx components ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a difference between a network and subnet. I have a similiar problem where I can see the device but can not configure it. You can tell if you are on the same subnet by retireving the ip address for the client and get the subnet mask of the client machine. The example is the following:
client machine ip address 192.168.20.37 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
    CRIO machine 192.168.22.15
They are not on the same subnet. If subnet is 255.255.0.0 it is on the same subnet.

  • Macbook Air and Netflix Silverlight

I have purchased the new Macbook Air 13", returned it due to excessive fan noise and exchanged for a second Macbook Air 13". The product itself is stunning. It's light, sexy, powerful and I like the OS. However, playing a movie on Netflix with the Silverlight app kicks the CPU to 120% plus and runs the fans to at least 5,000 RPMs and up to 6496 RPMs. Then, this chews through the battery life. A SMC reboot doesn't work - tried it. Literally, every other app is quiet, with an exception of maybe a Chrome Render pulling 5-10% of CPU power. Unfortunately I will now make a 4th trip to Apple and it will be to turn this one in. Such a shame. Last call. Any ideas?

Except for one fact.  Some machines dissipate heat easier than others depending on their surface.  I would not for instance put one of these hot machines on bed linen.  A wooden or metal desk is a much better surface. A simple notebook stand can cost as little as $20 if you shop around.    And the 120 degrees is not the max.  The max is on http://www.apple.com/macbookair/specs.html are:
    Line voltage: 100-240V AC
    Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz
    Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
    Storage temperature: -13° to 113° F (-24° to 45° C)
Relative humidity: 0% to 90% noncondensing
    Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet
    Maximum storage altitude: 15,000 feet
    Maximum shipping altitude: 35,000 feet
Airplane cabin pressure typically is normal for 9000 feet, which is why it is safe to use in flight. Temperatures above are ambient external to computer temperatures.
SMC FanControl has recently been found to be 10.7 incompatible and cause more issues for computers that have been updated or new machines than using without that software. If you are experiencing other overheating symptoms such as unexpected kernel panics, or un-force quitable applications (command-option-escape is the command to force an application to quit via the Force Quit menu), or unprogrammed shut downs (either by Energy Saver or power button, or Apple menu -> Shut Down) only then would I worry about overheating.  Now if your ambient temperature humidity is normal, and the fan is just noisy, get a pair of headphones to block the noise.
This is a user to user forum, and all we can do is suggest remedial actions to take. The fact you had 4 replacements and it didn't perform as expected says either the environment is hostile for it, or your expectations are excessive.

  • Why can't I right click in MAX anymore?

When I learned I had to install silverlight to use MAX, I was somewhat dissappointed but I understand adopting new technologies. I did become quite irate when I tried copying the IP of my EVS. The screenshot below displays the problem I found when right clicking on the text. Can anyone explain why my LabVIEW deified right click is broken?

Silverlight is a promising but maturing technology. The current version doesn't support right click menus. If you want to check out some of the cool things Silverlight does provide, check out the new NI Network Browser technology!

  • How much RAM can my Macbook Pro hold MAX?

Can my Macbook Pro hold a MAX of 8GB or is it just 4GB? I'm getting different answers online and I'm a little annoyed at this point. My computer specs currently are:
    15 inch Laptop
MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
    Got my computer in 2009.
At Crucial.com it says it can hold up to 8GB when I select my computer processor speed from their list, but I noticed it saying DDR3 (and I don't know what that means to be honest). Here's the link:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=7F3A5584A5CA7304
To the best of my knowledge I selected the correct computer, which I own, from their list.
Under "About This Mac", on my computer, it says DDR2 for the memory, on Crucial.com it says DDR3. As a result I'm confused and will that cause problems?
I'll be getting my RAM kit from Crucial.com, so do I buy the 4BG kit, because that's all my laptop can handle, or is it OK to get the 8GB kit, which says DDR3?
I do a lot of video and audio, so I would like to get my RAM up to 8 GB if it will.
    Thanks

One more question friend....You've been so helpful
Will these two sticks work together on my machine?
    2GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=B54C51B4A5CA7304
    along with a...
    4GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Module
    http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-CT51264AC800-200-pin-SODIMM-PC2-6400/dp/B001RB21JE
So these two would add up to 6GB total. Now the ONLY DIFFERENCE that I see is the 2GB stick is PC2-5300(667Mhz)speed and the 4GB stick is PC2-6400(800Mhz)speed. I understand that my machine won't run at the 800Mhz speed that the PC2-6400 stick is designed for, cause my machine says 667 under the memory info. From what I read online, it's ok to put a higher Mhz stick in there, it will just cap at 667Mhz speed? But.......both sticks are DDR2, which is right for my computer, but will the 667 MHz with a 800 Mhz be a huge no-no to run together? At this point I think that is my main concern! If I can't do this, than I think I'll have to go with the 2x2GB kit for 4GB total, but I REALLY would like to run 6GB.
    Shew.... :P
    Thanks again!

I just checked my BIOS and my current setting is set at IDE although it also mentions that the default should be AHCI. Currently I have a dual boot of Windows 7 (need it for Tax software) and Arch
So I guess, when I get the new HDD, I will first set it to AHCI and then install the OSes on it. See if NCQ helps any, and if not I will turn it back and re-install (if I have to). I am planning to have Windows only in virtualbox in the new drive.
Anyhoo, while I was in the BIOS I found two things which I had questions about :
    1) Under Onboard Devices --> Integrated NIC , my setting is currently set at "On w/PXE" and it says the default should be just "On". Would it be ok to change it back to On since its a single machine and its not booting an OS on any server. I just don't want to have to re-install anything now since I will be doing that in the new HDD.
    2) How would I know whether my BIOS would support a 64 bit OS in Virtualbox? I checked some setting under Virtualization, but they weren't very clear.
I will edit this post and let you know exactly what settings were present under the Virtualization sub-section.

  • At max how many columns is advisable to create in a table/view

    Hi All,
I have two transaction table from which i want to create a simple view or materialized view. But the number of columns is about 200. So i want to know at max how many columns is advisable from the performance point of view.
Even though i will create 200 columns in a view , for a perticular client installation i may not use all the columns.
one more thing i will never use 200 columns in the select statement . At a time i will use only 4/5 columns.
It may happen from this four column one column will be the 1st and 2nd column will be the 200th one.
I want to know how it affects the performance and in which scenario . Please help if any body knows or already faced this kind of scenario.
    I am using oracle 10g .

    thanks for ur reply .
We are going to use this view in a report , so if i will create it as simple view it will affect report performance. because the view script is too long ...so every time quring to a view will decrease the performance.
Are you asking me if it will? I think it probably won't but of course you have the means to test it to be sure, right?
As u said MV should be done with minimum possible column . what can be the maximum column in MV ..??It would be defined by the limits on:
    * The maximum number of columns that a table can contain
    * The size of the query needed to define the select statement
    * Limitations on queries needed to maintain the data

  • Silverlight and Windows 8.1 is not working

    Hi,
I'm trying to get horizon.tv (by UPC) in The Netherlands working, and on Windows 7 it works, but on Windows 8.1 it simply doesn't work! Very strange, because Silverlight and Windows 8 are both from Microsoft!
I've tried starting Firefox, Chrome and IE from the desktop, but it all fails.
I have downloaded the latest Silverlight; it installed automatic, and further all is up to date.
    What is going wrong?

    Hi,
Sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing.
Pease try change the Compatibility view Settings as below steps.
    1. open Desktop IE >go to "horizon.tv"
    2. select Tools > compatibility view > add site in box
    3. checked on"Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" and "Use Microsoft Compatibility Lists"
    4. restart IE
If that doesn't help, please try installing this update
KB2901549 which may resolve the issue, if all these no help, please try to use the
    MS "Fix-It"
to uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight again.

  • MAX function to get recent date doesn't work as expected

    Hi,
I recently started working on Oracle and came across this problem. I coded below given query to get the latest date from table and compare it with Sysdate + 1 timestamp. I am not able to understand what I coded wrong but the query gives me wrong results as explained below :
    select NVL(MAX(to_char(max(last_update),'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM')), to_char(sysdate + 1,'mm/dd/yyyy')||' 12:00:00 AM')
    from Audit_Table_Name
    where col1 = 'AA'
    and location_type = 'STATE'
    and original_flag = 'Y'
    group by col1,location_type,original_flag;
Here Max(last_update) from Audit Table Contains value --> 08/25/2009 12:00:00 AM
Note : Data type of last_update is Date
so ideally speaking it should give 08/26/2009 12:00:00 AM but surprisingly it is giving 08/25/2009 12:00:00 AM as output. Anyone can explain why this is happening and what we need to do to get correct results?
    Regards,

    1) Why would you expect this to return a date of 8/26? NVL returns the first parameter unless it is NULL. If the first parameter is NULL, it returns the second parameter. Since
MAX(to_char(max(last_update),'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM'))returns a non-NULL value, that value will be returned. Oracle never needs to evaluate the second parameter
to_char(sysdate + 1,'mm/dd/yyyy')||' 12:00:00 AM'You state that you want to compare the MAX( last_update ) to SYSDATE + 1. Your code isn't doing a comparison now. And it's not clear from your description what comparison you actually want to do. Can you elaborate a bit on what you want to compare and what the output should be depending on the result of that comparison?
    2) You almost certainly want to do as much of the logic as possible using dates and only convert to a string at the very end. Otherwise, you risk comparing two strings that represent dates using string comparison semantics and getting a result you don't expect.
    3) My guess (and it is just a guess) is that you want something like
    SELECT GREATEST( max(last_update), trunc(sysdate+1) )or
    SELECT TO_CHAR( GREATEST( max(last_update), trunc(sysdate+1) ), 'mm/dd/yyyy hh12:mi:ss AM' )Justin
