Simplify Saving

Is there a way to make saving a .pdf form as easy as pressing one button?
Thank you for your help!
Betsy

Yes, press the Save button in the toolbar at the top of the window and the file will be saved.

  • How can I simplify or Automate saving Photoshop edits back to iPhoto

    I am using Photoshop CS3 as my external editor for iPhoto. I am looking for a way to Automate saving the edited pictures back to iPhoto. Currently I use Command W, Click Save, in "Save As" window I change the format from Photoshop to JPEG, click Save, then click Replace, then click OK for my JPEG options window and my edited file is saved back into iPhoto. I know there must be an easier way to do this. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Have you set PS as an external editor?
    You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically.
    What format are the original files?

  • Selectable map not saved in fillable PDF form file

    Hi all, I have a problem with a document (it's a book for children) which has been created using InDesign CS6 on Macintosh. I need to make a fillable form (which is not a problem) and I have applied the "Extended Features for Acrobat Reader". I guess the client uses Acrobat Reader for Windows.
    The problem comes when the client asks me to include a map where the pupils can select the countries, and that I have solved using buttons that show/hide these countries. It works fine, but when the client fills the form and saves the document, the map doesn't save the selected fields.
    How can I make it work properly? I also tried creating a "SAVE MAP" button, but unfortunately, Acrobat only applies this feature to the current state when I create the document, NOT when the client clicks on this "SAVE MAP" button. Is there another solution, please?
    And there's still more... In another page, the pupils must select 5 words, and the problem remains the same... the selected fields are not saved.
    I hope I've explained myself correctly, I know it's a bit confusing.
    Thanks in advance!!

    If you will be adding up the mileage reimbursement amounts you might need to round the result of the calculation to 2 decimal places and that will require a custom JavaScript calculation. Using unrounded values can result with an answer that does not add up to the displayed value.
    Using the simplified field notation also requires that field names meet a very specific format. The field names need to start with an alphabetic character and it cannot have any white space character in the name unless some additional coding is done. These restrictions are a result of processing the formula string with JavaScript and how the data string is parsed for processing.

  • WEIRD! AVCHD folder structure saved on HD appears different in Mountain Lion?

    I saved all my old SD card contents fully onto an external hard drive.
    Since saving I have upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
    Today I opened  the saved SD cards to find that the folder structure had altered dramatically.
    It appears to be simplified and the "Private" folder is no longer a folder but a QT type file which when double-clicked opens in QT Player.
    All the clips appear to be there and capable of being used but everything is drastically different.
    Any idea what has happened  .  .  .  .  is it ML related?

    There seems to be no way of importing AVCHD video without copying it.
    When it's in the camera you need to copy it but if it's stored on a HD there is no need but you are given no choice.

  • How to simplify a cumbersome workflow?

    Nearly everyday I need to update 5 large .html pages, each currently around 1.5 MB. The work involved to get these pages published is cumbersome to say the least and time consuming. I'm looking for tips or suggestions on ways to achieve this more easily and in less time.
    Details:
    The pages in question are: http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5.html and the http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5-1.html thru http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5-4.html
    Step 1, Excel:
    The data are processed in Excel, sorted in 5 different ways and each sorted page is exported as a .html page. Due to some bugs in Excel, each export needs to be done with the active sheet zoomed to 10% of the original size, otherwise the conditional formatting is compromised.and messed up. So, after export, reset the zoom to 100%, resort the sheet on a different test, zoom to 10%, export to .html, zoom to 100%, resort, etc.
    While not very convenient, I have not found an alternative, because the conditional formatting and color coding is crucial, so using tables in DW is not an option.
    Step 2, .vbs script:
    A simple .vbs script is run from the desktop and that inserts in each of the created .html files the necessary code for Spry Tooltips, Lightbox and Scroll-to-Top in a very easy and reliable way. So far, so good.
    Step 3, the cumbersome process:
    Each of the five pages needs to have a Spry menu inserted in a specific cell of each spreadsheet. In Excel terms cell A2/A3 (merged).
    The original code in each .html page to be replaced is:
    <td rowspan=2 height=67 class=xl2179194 style='border-bottom:.5pt solid black;
    height:50.25pt'> </td>
    and needs to be replaced with this:
    <td height=67 rowspan=2 bgcolor="#EEE" class=xl2179194 style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom:.5pt solid black; height:50.25pt'>
    <ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarVertical">
    <li><a href="http://ppbm5.com/index.html">Home Page</a> </li>
    <li><a href="#" class="MenuBarItemSubmenu">Sort Results by</a>
    <ul>
    <li><a href="http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5.html">Overall Results</a></li>
    <li><a href="http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5-1.html">Disk I/O Results</a></li>
    <li><a href="http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5-2.html">MPEG2-DVD Results</a></li>
    <li><a href="http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5-3.html">H.264-BR Results</a></li>
    <li><a href="http://ppbm5.com/Benchmark5-4.html">MPE Results</a></li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    </ul>
    </td>
    Notice: The bold figures in the code above, currently 217 can vary from page to page and from day to day. This is an Excel anomaly that is unexplainable to me. One day the first page may show 199 as the first figure and the other pages may show 198, the next day the first page may show 217 on the first page and 218 on subsequent pages.
    Due to some limitations of .vbs scripting and the strange Excel behavior, I have not found a method to automatically replace this code, because it is no longer static, as the rest of the script is.
    Current workaround:
    I know that in the .html pages, this code is somewhere in the vicinity of line 3514. So in DW I scroll down to around that line, delete the two unneeded lines and with copy/paste from a text file insert the replacement code and correct the 'class=xl2179194' manually to the correct number. This has to be repeated for each of the 5 files.
    As you can understand, far from ideal.
    Step 3, uploading and optimizing:
    Upload the saved .html files to the site, refresh in FF, use Firebug/Pagespeed to create a compressed .html (saves around 33 KB per file), upload again, refresh and then the next tedious step starts.
    Step 4, removing unused CSS code:
    Refresh the page in FF, analyze with Firebug/Pagespeed and remove the unused CSS code from the page (saves around 68 K per file) by going back to DW and manually remove all the lines on unused code from bottom to top, for instance removing lines 200-198-197-195-194- 189-186-...-23-22-21-20. Then save the file again, upload and repeat this exercise for the other files.
    These optimizing steps generally result in a page speed index that improves from 81 to 85, sizable enough IMO to justify the effort, but this is cumbersome, tedious and error prone. But with the way Excel works with exports of .html files I feel like I'm in a bind.
    Can anyone suggest a better, more effective workflow that is less time-consuming.

    Thank you for your attention. I know it is often suggested to export to a database or table, but the giant complexity of all the conditional formatting with legends and color grading, based on various calculations, the added and automated charts that are based on a number of calculations as well, make that approach extremly complex, not a task I look forward to.
    I don't think it's any more complex that what you're currently doing on an almost daily basis
    The real issue to me is letting go of the current mindset which has obviously evolved and developed this precision exercise over time.
    To me, it now has the hallmarks of a Rube Goldberg invention and is obviously a burden for you to maintain.
    It's often difficult to break away from, and re-think, projects that you're close to and have an intimate knowledge of.
    Is the current format set in stone or can it be done a different way? I assume you have a skilled readership which is able to digest that data as presented?
    All the conditional formatting on those pages is part of Excel's toolkit to try and offer some visual meaning and comprehension to the data displayed.
    This can just as easily be done with queries, filters and formatting with a database approach. In addition, a database approach allows you to re-sort, analyze and present the data in countless different ways which the current rigid presentation does not allow.
    Just some thoughts.
    It would already simplify my current workflow, if I were able to instruct DW to delete lines in the .html code in the following sequence:
    200 - 198 - 197 - 195 - 194 - 191 - 189 - 188 - 186- 185 - 183 - 181 - 180 - 179 - 176 - etc.
    Notice you have to start with the highest number first and work from there to the lowest numbered line.
    Do you happen to know if it is possible to enter this list of line numbers once and then instruct DW to delete these lines in the order indicated for all open documents?
    Long shot: It may be possible via RegExp expressions but I'm not skilled in the use of those. However, you're probably better off doing that manually.

  • Getting Brain Error while saving the query--Need Immediate solution

    Hello Experte
    I designed query like this.
    G/L account structure is defined in Rows. Before explaining about columns Let me Explain u about my ORG structure.
    Company codes are defined in R/3 like this.
    Company Code
    1000 for Local Currency(HSL01)
    2000 to 7000,IEL for group Currency(KSL01).
    Iu2019m extracting the data as it is from R/3 to DSO and again by writing routine I splitter the data for months(EX: HSL01 is ApriL,Hsl02 May,u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026.KSL01 April, KSL02 may,u2026u2026u2026. Upto to 16 periods) this is R/3 data. This data I differentiated based upon currency types. If currency type is 10 then Local Currency 30 Means Group Currency.
    Again Iu2019m receiving the data from Flat Files for subsidiaries(IEAI,IEG,IEEL,ISSCI,IHAL,TTM-US,TTM-INDIA,TTIT). This data I loaded first into DSO by writing Routine at field Level for G/L account to convert G/L Descriptions into Numbers.
    After that I loaded data from first DSO to Second DSO by writing to convert respective currencies into INR and again loaded to cube by Direct mapping.
    Again Iu2019m receiving the eliminations data from R/3 through Ztable. This also Iu2019m extracting from R/3  and loaded into dso and again into cube.
    Now I will Explain about my Report.
    In Columns I defined 3 selections for each month.  U can observe that in Document. Like that for each month Iu2019m getting three selections and for subsidiaries 2 selections for each month. If we observe total Iu2019m getting 13 selections for India and 9 selections for each subsidiary. If subsidiaries increase I need to increase selections, automatically columns will increase. Now for Q4 2 new subsidiaries are  added I need to added. After adding and while saving the query then only Iu2019m getting brain error.
    Could any one sort out this.
    Thanks,
    Sony

  • Odd error message given when saving a file to a secondary drive.

    I am running Photoshop CS3 Extended on a Windows XP Pro, with SP2 installed. The computer has two hard drives installed. On all previous versions of Photoshop I've been able to save a file to my 2nd hard drive easily by typing "D:\image.jpg"
    When I try to do the same in Photoshop CS3 I get an error message that says "could not save as d:\d:\image.jpg because the file name was invalid"
    So I have to hit SHIFT+CTRL+S then type "d:\" and then type a file name, making it a 2 step procedure to save a file now. If I don't follow this procedure, and just type the filename it saves the file on drive C:\ in a subdirectory.
    Obviously it's a path error, but I've never had a problem with a straight out command "D:\image.jpg" on previous versions and looking at the Preferences options or doing a search for this error didn't shed any light on this issue. Thanks for any feedback on this problem.

    i "could not save as d:\d:\image.jpg because the file name was invalid"
    It seems that the "explorer" function is already set to drive D:\, as evidenced by the error message. If the file came from D:\, or you have been saving to D:\, then you will not type "D:\" into the file name, as both the ":" and the "\" are forbidden characters.
    As a test, Open a file from C:\, then Save to C:\. Now, Do a Save_As and try typing "d:\image.jpg." It should do this, without the error message.
    Just a note: you may have simplified the path for your post, but otherwise, it's not a good practice to save any file into the root of a drive - always do a folder. If this was for done as an example only, then ignore my caveat.

  • Unable to read Simplified Chinese in downloaded excel

    Hi,
    We are running an MDMP Simplified Chinese SAP system.
    After extracting some data with both English and Simplified Chinese and saving it as excel file, we are not able to view the Simplified Chinese characters when it is opened in MS Excel.  "Garbage" are being displayed in place of Simplified Chinese.  English display is ok.
    The PC already has Simplified Chinese fonts installed (Control Panel->Regional & Language Options->Language tab->Install files for East Asian languages), and Windows XP is an English version.
    In addition, we are able to key in Simplified Chinese via the keyboard using Hanyu Pinyin.
    I am suspecting that the issue is with MS Excel which doesn't know how to convert the Simplified Chinese.
    Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    as far as I know you need to set the system locale (Language for Non-Unicode programs) of Windows in the control panel to Chinese.
    In addition in a standard  MDMP system it is mandatory to logon with language Chinese if you want to download Kanji characters.

  • How to make saved IR available for all users

    Hi,
    I've created IR and saved it to several tabs based on search conditions.
    But they're only visible for developers.
    How to make these tabs available for all end-users ?
    Does version 4.0 support this option ?
    Thank you!

    Hi
    At present this feature is not included, although I believe it may be in 4.0. Many people have provided workarounds for this. None of which I have tried. I cannot find the original thread but here is a solution from a chap called Ruud
    >
    One way to share your saved reports with others is to 'Publish' your report settings to a few intermediate tables in your application and have other users 'Import' your settings from there. The reason for using intermediate tables is so that not all your saved reports need to be 'visible' to other users (only those that you've chosen to publish).
    Basically you have available the following views and package calls that any APEX user can access:-
    - flows_030100.apex_application_pages (all application pages)
    - flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt (all saved reports - inclusing defaults and all user saved reports)
    - flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond (the associated conditions/filters for above saved reports)
    - wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_rpt (package procedure that creates a new saved report)
    - wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_condition (package procedure that creates a condition/filter for above saved report)
    The way I've done it is that I've created 2 tables in my application schema that are straightforward clones of the 2 above views.
    CREATE TABLE user_report_settings AS SELECT * FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt;
    CREATE TABLE user_report_conditions AS SELECT * FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond;
    ( NB. I deleted any contents that may have come across to make sure we start with a clean slate. )
    These two tables will act as my 'repository'.
    To simplify matters I've also created 2 views that look at the same APEX views.
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW v_report_settings AS
    SELECT r.*
    p.page_name
    FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt r,
    flows_030100.apex_application_pages p
    WHERE UPPER ( r.application_name ) = <Your App Name>
    AND r.application_user 'APXWS_DEFAULT'
    AND r.session_id IS NULL
    AND p.application_id = r.application_id
    AND p.page_id = r.page_id;
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW v_report_conditions AS
    SELECT r.*
    p.page_name
    FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond r,
    flows_030100.apex_application_pages p
    WHERE UPPER ( r.application_name ) = <Your App Name>
    AND r.application_user 'APXWS_DEFAULT'
    AND p.application_id = r.application_id
    AND p.page_id = r.page_id;
    I then built 2 screens:-
    1) Publish Report Settings
    This shows 2 report regions:-
    - Region 1 - Shows a list of all your saved reports from V_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to only show yours)
    SELECT apex_item.checkbox ( 1, report_id ) " ",
    page_name,
    report_name
    FROM v_report_settings
    WHERE application_user = :APP_USER
    AND ( page_id = :P27_REPORT OR :P27_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY page_name,
    report_name
    Each row has a checkbox to select the required settings to publish.
    The region has a button called PUBLISH (with associated process) that when pressed will copy the settings from
    V_REPORT_SETTINGS (and V_REPORT_CONDITIONS) into USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (and USER_REPORT_CONDITIONS).
    - Region 2 - Shows a list of already published reports in table USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (again filtered for your user)
    SELECT apex_item.checkbox ( 10, s.report_id ) " ",
    m.label,
    s.report_name
    FROM user_report_settings s,
    menu m
    WHERE m.page_no = s.page_id
    AND s.application_user = :APP_USER
    AND ( s.page_id = :P27_REPORT OR :P27_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY m.label,
    s.report_name
    Each row has a checkbox to select a setting that you would like to delete from the repository.
    The region has a button called DELETE (with associated process) that when pressed will remove the selected
    rows from USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (and USER_REPORT_CONDITIONS).
    NB: P27_REPORT is a "Select List With Submit" to filter the required report page first.
    Table MENU is my application menu table where I store my menu/pages info.
    2) Import Report Settings
    This again shows 2 report regions:-
    - Region 1 - Shows a list of all published reports in table USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to show only other users saved reports)
    SELECT apex_item.checkbox ( 1, s.report_id ) " ",
    m.label,
    s.report_name,
    s.application_user
    FROM user_report_settings s,
    menu m
    WHERE m.page_no = s.page_id
    AND s.application_user :APP_USER
    AND ( s.page_id = :P28_REPORT OR :P28_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY m.label,
    s.report_name,
    s.application_user
    Each row has a checkbox to select the setting(s) that you would like to import from the repository.
    The region has one button called IMPORT that when pressed will import the selected settings.
    It does this by using the 2 above mentioned package procedure to create a new saved report for you
    with the information form the repository. Be careful to match the right column with the right procedure
    parameter and to 'reverse' any DECODEs that the view has.
    - Region 2 - Shows a list of all your saved reports from V_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to only show yours)
    SELECT page_name,
    report_name
    FROM v_report_settings
    WHERE application_user = :APP_USER
    AND ( page_id = :P28_REPORT OR :P28_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY page_name,
    report_name
    This is only needed to give you some feedback as to whether the import succeeded.
    A few proviso's:-
    a) I'm sure there's a better way to do all this but this works for me :-)
    b) This does not work for Computations! I have not found an API call to create computations.
    They will simply not come across into the repository.
    c) If you import the same settings twice I've made it so that the name is suffixed with (2), (3) etc.
    I did not find a way to update existing report settings. You can only create new ones.
    d) Make sure you refer to your saved reports by name, not ID, when matching APEX stored reports and the
    reports in your repository as the ID numbers may change if you re-import an application or if you
    auto-generate your screens/reports (as I do).
    Ruud
    >
    To me this is a bit too much of a hack and I personally wouldn't implement it - it's just an example to show it can be done.
    Also if you look here in the help in APEX Home > Adding Application Components > Creating Reports > Editing Interactive Reports
    ...and go to the last paragraph, you can embed predicates in the URL.
    Cheers

  • Try to find where are 3D conversion settings saved

    Hi,
    Is there any other way to change these settings, differs from "Edit->Preferences->Convert to PDF"? Maybe there are saved in file or into Windows registry? I'm a programmer and trying to simplify 3D conversion for my users. Thanks!
    Best regards, Dmitry

    I am dealing with a similar issue. I would like to save a backup copy of my customized 3D conversion settings. What directory does this write to?

  • XML Attributes Created Twice in the XML after Saving in FM

    Hi All,
    I've built a structured application to read and write a custom XML. The file is opened just fine. However, when saving the XML in FM, some XML attributes appear in the XML twice. For example, in the original XML I have the following:
    <object_group doc_name="xxx" parsed_by_sym="false">
    </object_group>
    After I save the XML, it looks like this:
    <object_group doc_name="xxx" parsed_by_sym="false" doc_name="xxx" parsed_by_sym="false">
    </object_group>
    After the XML is saved, FM refuses to re-open it aborting the parsing. If I remove the doubled attributes manually in Notepad, then the XML is opened in FM again.
    Should I define anything in read/write rules? What am I doing wrong?
    I'm using an XSD, which I defined in structapp.fm.
    Thank you very much!

    Alex,
      Without looking at the application and document, I don't have any other ideas. To debug a situation like this, I would try variations such as the following, investigating any change that eliminates the doubled attribute:
    1) If you haven't already, shut your computer down and restart it.
    2) If the application uses a custom client or processing, remove them. If their absence makes a difference, the problem may originate in them.
    3) Simplify the test document as much as possible, probably in several steps. For example, remove all optional attributes and elements. Remove all non-containers (tables, xrefs, graphics, etc.) You may need to change the EDD or schema to create as short a document as you can that fails. The goal is to have a document with just a few elements and only one attribute that fails.
    4) Change the element and attribute names, which shouldn't make a difference, but may be worth testing.
    5) Simplify or eliminate the r/w rules.
    6) Simplify the EDD so that the only defined elements and attributes are the ones that appear in the small sample.
    7) Remove all format rules and autoinsertions from the EDD. The goal is to remove anything that should not be relevant.
    8) Simplify the schema in the same way.
    9) Remove the schema from the application. If doing so eliminates the duplicate, convert the schema to a DTD and see if using a DTD instead of the schema makes a difference.
    10) Make sure your have installed all updates to the version of FM you are using.
    11) If you have access to a different version of FM, see if it behaves the same way.
    Good luck and let us know when you find the problem.

  • Saving checkbox-state to table in Interactive Report

    Hi,
    I have been working with the information on http://www.apexninjas.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Checkboxes_in_Interactive_Reports.pdf to create an interactive report with a column containing a checkbox for each row.
    My report contains the following (simplified):
    Task_id, Employee_id, Checkbox_column
    The checkbox_column keeps track of which employees work on which tasks, so it could be:
    Task_id, Employee_id, Checkbox_column
    1               1                         0
    1               2                         1
    1               3                         0
    signifying that only employee 2 works on task 1.
    Now, I need to be able to change the 0 to 1 by clicking the checkbox, which already is possible, but I have problems saving that row to the database. Saving the checkbox state is also included in the PDF I used (page 12-14, 'Saving the checkbox state #2'), but I don't really understand where to put the scripts, I haven't worked with scripts and processes before so I could use some help understanding which script I need to put where. All in all, it's not too much code, I just don't understand where to put it.
    The scripts mentioned in the PDF are:
    The first one is a SQL-statement or a package, I imported the package in my environment, so I won't put the SQL here
    This is the only one I know where to put:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function getCurIRTab()
    var temp_base_report_id = $v('apexir_report_id');
    return temp_base_report_id;
    </script>
    This I don't know where to put:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    document.getElementById('P_IR_REPORT_ID').value = getCurIRTab();
    </script>
    the PDF says:
    Now, create a hidden (just hidden, not protected!) item called P_IR_REPORT_ ID inside a HTML region.
    Important! This region has to be rendered afterthe Interactive Report, so create it in the “after footer” display point!
    In this regions’s footer paste the following JavaScript code, that will assign the hidden item P_IR_REPORT_ID the value of the Interactive Report ID.
    But can we create a region in the after footer?
    This I don't know where to put because the document doesn't specify it:
    apex_ir_query.ir_query_where
    (:APP_ID,--application id
    99,--page id
    :SESSION,--sesion ID
    : P_IR_REPORT_ID -–interactive report ID);
    This I don't know where to put, but I guess it's a 'processing' process:
    declare
    whereStmt varchar2(2000);
    sqlStmt varchar2(2000);
    begin
    whereStmt := apex_ir_query.ir_query_where(:APP_ID,
    99,
    :SESSION,
    :P_IR_REPORT_ID);
    sqlStmt := 'update CHK_TEST set SELECTED = 0 where SELECTED= 1'||whereStmt;
    execute immediate sqlStmt;
    if APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT>0 then
    FOR i in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
    update CHK_TEST
    set VALID_LINE = 1
    where SELECTED_ID = APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i)
    and VALID_LINE = 0;
    END LOOP;
    end if;
    end;
    Can I please get some help understanding where exactly to put these scripts?
    I've been looking around on the forum and Google but I can't find the detailed answer to what I'm looking for anywhere.
    I am currently working with the test environment Oracle supplied us, because we are testing if we can use APEX at our company.
    The version is Application Express 4.2.2.00.11 and it's running on Oracle 11g.
    Just ask if you need any more info.
    Thanks for the answers!

    Please put together an example application on apex.oracle.com and provide developer credentials.  This would help prevent multiple posts back and forth about try this, try that, now try this, now try that......
    But until you do that try this:
    I think you already know that the following goes in the page html header.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function getCurIRTab()
    var temp_base_report_id = $v('apexir_report_id');
    return temp_base_report_id;
    </script>
    Alternately, since you are on apex 4.2 you could just add it to the Page Attributes->JavaScript->Function and Global Variable Declaration field (without the script tags):
    function getCurIRTab()
    var temp_base_report_id = $v('apexir_report_id');
    return temp_base_report_id;
    Now you need to create an HTML region (in display point "after footer").  Then you create the P_IR_REPORT_ID hidden item inside your new region.
    In the region definition you will put the following code into the region footer:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    document.getElementById('P_IR_REPORT_ID').value = getCurIRTab();
    </script>
    Alternately, you could try to add the line to the Page Attributes->JavaScript->Execute when Page Loads field:
    document.getElementById('P_IR_REPORT_ID').value = getCurIRTab();
    This is just an example of the procedure call you will make in your page process.
    apex_ir_query.ir_query_where
    (:APP_ID,--application id
    99,--page id
    :SESSION,--sesion ID
    : P_IR_REPORT_ID -–interactive report ID);
    It is included in this code which you will put into a page process.
    declare
    whereStmt varchar2(2000);
    sqlStmt varchar2(2000);
    begin
    whereStmt := apex_ir_query.ir_query_where(:APP_ID,
    99,
    :SESSION,
    :P_IR_REPORT_ID);
    sqlStmt := 'update CHK_TEST set SELECTED = 0 where SELECTED= 1'||whereStmt;
    execute immediate sqlStmt;
    if APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT>0 then
    FOR i in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
    update CHK_TEST
    set VALID_LINE = 1
    where SELECTED_ID = APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i)
    and VALID_LINE = 0;
    END LOOP;
    end if;
    end;
    Ok, clear as mud!

  • Multi languages for Chinese(Simplified) and Chinese(Traditional).

    Hi all,
    It is mentioned in the technical doc "Oracle® Application Server Portal Developer's Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.4)" chapter 7.2.10 Writing Multilingual Portlets,
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/portal.1014/b14135/pdg_java_adv.htm#CHDHBFEE
    that multiple languages is supported in Oracle Java Portlet by creating MyProviderBundle classes for different languages. I tried the example and works.
    Now, I am facing the problem that since my ultimate languages supported in Portal are Chinese(Simplified), Chinese(Traditional) and English, I need to create 3 resource bundle java classes namely MyProviderBundle, MyProviderBundle_zhs and MyProviderBundle_zht, with the latter 2 which I am not sure the namings are correct or not.
    Also, when I saved the file MyProviderBundle_zhs with some Simplified Chinese characters and open the file again, the characters become garbage.
    Are anyone out there experience similar situation before and can share your experience?
    thanks
    George (HK)

    Dear all,
    I deadly need the suggestion or solution, please help me.
    thanks

  • Simplified Chinese characters changed

    Dear sir,
    We are using SAP 4.6B with code page 8300 (ZF). I know we cannot recognize simplified Chinese characters, but we still can receive them and store them into our table without change any codes when our client transmit data from EDI. But recently we started to use webMethods 6.0 to receive XML messages from our client. When they send XML with simplified Chinese characters to us, we found the characters saving in our table are different from those characters in webMethods. We don't know what system changed the characters, we had debug webMethods, the characters are OK before call RFC, but after call RFC, the contents in table are different. Our XML is using UTF-8, and the settings in webMethods is 'EN' for SAP logon.
    Thanks for your response, please tell us how to fix the error or what configuration should be done, thanks!
    Joanne Wu

    Joanne,
    I think the answer lies in your question itself. Can you try the SAP logon with ZF languange. Is there any testriction for using that? Most probably it sould work.
    Best wishes,
    Thomas.

  • Simplified Chinese characters in iGrid

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to insert simplified Chinese characters in the headings of an iGrid applet.
    Thanks,
    Ahmed

    Thanks Sam,
    However the iGrid editor does not take in Chinese characters. When I pasted the Chinese characters in the headings fields of the layout pane of the iGrid editor they came out as little boxes. Even after saving the template and viewing it in IE they still came out as little boxes.
    I opened up the saved template's XML file in a unicode editor pasted the Chinese characters for the headers then changed the font from the default Dialog to SimSun. SimSun is not one of the fonts available in the dropdown list of fonts in the iGrid editor. I then saved the XML file and re-viewed in IE and the Chinese characters displayed properly.
    Regards,
    Ahmed
