capacity available on 32 Gb iphone is 28.49Gb
i previously had 21.97 Gb music, over 6 Gb photos, about 1Gb of apps, and minute amount of audio
now i have no music, 5.4 Gb photos and similar (0.8Gb) for apps and audio. i have deleted heaps of photos and unused apps to try to make space but obviosly this is a much bigger problem. I also created a smaller music folder on itunes to sync to but at present no music is selected for syncing due to the lack of available space.
i have 15Gb icloud account now also which is about half full.
Ive done a little research and heard similar tales but with much smaller other totals than this. Can you help?

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

If you are referring to Norton's, you will need to use their uninstaller or you will not be able to get rid of it completely. Since I don't know which version you have, here is the search result page (uninstall Norton for Mac) on their website:

How can I get to the main message menu? It stays locked on one persons messages and won't let me message anyone else. Can anyone help me?
You should be able to tap a different conversation you already have open. Try tapping the write new message button, it looks like the square with the pencil icon, right next to the word Messages, if it opens then tap the blue + sign.
You could also try to delete all you current open windows by tapping the Edit button then check marking all them > delete.
If you are still having problems first try to close Messages and then double tapping the Home Button to bring up the dock and long press on the messages app in the dock until you see it shaking with the red circle and completely turn it off, then re-open and see if that fixes it. If not you could try to reboot the iPad by holding the home button and the power button at the same time, ignore the "slide to Power Off" message and continue holding both buttons until you see the screen go black and the Apple logo appear. -
I recently downloaded iOS 6.1.3 and I can no longer put any music on my iPod
I tried to synchronize my iPod with iTunes, and a box popped up telling me it couldn't sync and that I had to restore. So I restored my iPod, and another box came up and said that a new update was available and asked (it didn't really give me a choice, actually) if I wanted to restore and update and gave me two options, "restore and update" or "cancel" so I chose the former. When my iPod had finished updating and restoring, it wiped all my apps, songs, and videos, and no matter how many times I sync it, I can't get anything back on. My content bar (the bar thingy with the colours that show the amount of space your songs, videos, etc are taking up) fills up like it should, and then I sync my iPod. The process is as it usually is, but as soon as it finishes, my content bar drops down to nothing. I can't get any of my music and videos back on my iPod, even though everything is still there in my iTunes library.
I have the same problem with my ipod 4th gen 32gb! My music is all in the library but I cannot get it to go onto my ipod!! Ever since the latest iOS 6.1.3 update! I have restored my ipod, backed it up, done absolutely everything!! Nothing works! Please help!

At least I'm not the only one with the issue. I was looking it up so see if others had the same problem and found a bunch of posts about it. I'm assuming it's not the phone then, it's the software. Should I bring it to the Apple Store? Replacing the phone seems stupid, because the phone isn't really the problem. It's the software! Maybe the iOS 5.0.2 will fix it??? I don't really want to wait though, it's a pain. If a lot of people have this issue it should get Apple's attention. They need to do something to fix it, ASAP!

But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
