After installing ios5, itunes randomly opens up on my desktop on my laptop computer. Not just when I start my computer but when I'm on it. itunes just opens. I've searched settings in itunes and my desktop and don't know where to go to stop this from happening. itunes will just open. I've rebooted laptop and tried signing out of itunes and it still happens. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop??

While it is clearly the wifi syncing that is causing it, the device almost never shows up in the device list, and I've already unchecked that box. I can't open new tabs from links in a site, while it is possible from chrome.

In this site http://www.thepressproject.gr/ I can't open the links in new tabs, while for the same site using chrome I can. When I right click on the link, i don't have the usual options (open in new tab, open in new window, bookmark etc.). It is as if it doesn't "see" the links at all and the options are for the main page.

That is a really strange issue. I've never heard of it before nor can I figure out how to fix it. What I'd recommend doing is disabling all your add-ons to see if that fixes the problem. If it does, one of your add-ons is causing the issue. If it doesn't, try [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|starting Firefox is Safe Mode]] to see if the issue disappears. If the problem doesn't happen in Safe Mode, it's a problem with something that runs in Firefox when you start it normally (could be settings, plug-ins, add-ons, etc). When opening certain webpages firefox makes a "Fwip"? sound, not sure how to describe it but it is rather annoying, what does it mean and how can I get rid of it?

Doesn't always do it, sometimes a webpage will do it when it loads, sometimes it won't, and sometimes reloading a webpage that makes the sound will require multiple refreshes for it to happen, while other times it'll happen every load. Did not have this sound before firefox 5.0 update.

I was having the same issue and discovered I must have accidentally toggled on an option of the NoScript addon I use. If you are using NoScript, click the little icon in the lower right corner and there is a toggle option named 'Audio feedback when scripts are blocked' (it's also be toggled on and off in the options menu of NoScript).
Hopefully this is also what is causing your noise.

Check Finderr->Preferences->General and ensure that HDs are selected for display. If so and they still don't, Reset the NVRAM/PRAM and Reset the SMC, and see if that does the trick.

Since downloading Maverick, whenever I am in GB 11 (v 6.0.5) GB will not open a new Software Instrument track when I push the + icon or through the scroll down menu.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
Duplicate track works fine,
New Instrument Track works fine
Guitar Track works fine
Software Instrument.... NOTHING.
Have tried everything to no avail.
I am assuming an OS issue?

The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to acces the built in utilities in OS X Recovery
Make sure to back up all important files first before using OS X Recovery.
OS X Recover does require a broadband high speed internet connection.

MacBook won't "wake up" from sleep mode since downloading Mavericks.

I have a 2008 MacBook and since downloading Mavericks, I've had a lot of issues when the computer is in "sleep mode." There are many times where it won't wake up and just remains a black screen. I'm forced to shut it down and turn it back on. When I do this, I have to login and it reloads everything I had had opened when it was put into sleep mode. Help! Thanks.
