Since I upgraded to 10.9.5, my macbook no longer recognizes my external hard drive. How do I fix this? External hard drive is a 1TB Toshiba formatted for mac. Worked fine until latest upgrade.

Solved the problem by dumping my external HD onto another computer. Re-formatting and re-installing the data. Not what I wanted to do but it solved the problem.

I already had all of the features turned off, had 20% free, all transparency were turned off and a few apps were on refresh and now are all turned off.
Like I said, my phone worked fine until I installed IOS 8 and now the screen will freeze intermittingly and runs very slowly when searching it. In other words IOS 8 significantly diminished the operation of a perfectly good phone and Apple will not let you roll it back to IOS 7. They F’d up my phone intentionally to sell us all the latest model.

new software upgrades on the 14 August 2006 (yesterday) which includes Airport 4.2.
The Linksys wireless PCI card (WMP54G) was installed just under a year ago with no problems. There was no need to install drivers, the Apple Mac recognised it and used it as a wireless card. I was browsing the internet last night (14 August) and the software updates downloaded in the background. Once it finished downloading, it requested for a re-start. I carried on browing the internet and then switched off my machine and went to bed.
When I turned on my computer in the morning, the wireless card no longer activates. The computer recognises there is a card but there is no connection to the router (meaning no internet). The router settings have not changed at all.
I believe it could be the Airport 4.2 update has interfered with the Linksys Card, but I'm not sure. I've been through all the Assist functions etc and there is no luck. It does seem that the big update released on the 14th August has played its part.
Any opinions and assistance on getting the card back to normal, and if possible assistance in removing the new updates to previous drivers/settings.

Sorry, I do not have a solution for you but I have the same problem upgrading from Jaguar to Panther (on my home machine not listed which is a G3 b&w). Now my WMP54G doesn't see any wireless network (I used to be able to see several in the 'hood), and Apple Profiler recognizes the card. Apple updater changed the Airport system files, I believe.
Is it possible to find the old Airport software and install over current system to get it working again? I doubt Apple still offers the old airport software, but if someone has it, maybe it can be installed with Pacifist.
We need some wireless help here, community.

All of a sudden last night I wasn't able to complete the video/audio. We were able to iChat with writing. The message I got was to go to connection doctor.

In the First tab what does it read at the Bottom ? AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST TAB (INTERNET CONNECTION) IT DOES SAY "SHARE A PUBLIC IP" WHEN I LOOK AT THAT SETTING - I COULD CLICK INSTEAD BRIDGE MODE OFF, OR DISTRIBUTE A RANGE OF IP ADDRESSES. BUT FOR NOW THE ONE THAT IT IS ON IS THE SHARE A PUBLIC IP.

Between that drop down and the tabs should be the info on how it connects to the Modem.
It may list that Puiblic IP.
It may list another LAN IP (one from the Modem)
Does it start 192.168....
Or 172.16 (or up to 172.32....)
Or possibly another 10.... number ?
If the modem is issuing IPs to the LAN there are two things that can effect things
One is the fact the computer gets two IPs (even though the mac can only display one)
And If you used Port Forwarding in the Modem the Place (IP/Computer or device) that it was pointing to may not be the Airport Base Station any more.

I've seen several discussions on the camera flash for iPhone and iPod Touch 5 wherein the flash doesn't work or is out of sync. Mine was fine until I upgraded to iOS 7. Despite being current with the new updates, there has been nothing to fix the flash.

Try:

Since I upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 all bookmarks I added since I started use Firefox Sync dissapeared, only old bookmarks remain. Before upgrade syncing worked fine.

Install the following Add-on until Google releases a new version of their toolbar that is compatible with Firefox 5. Google needs to test their toolbar with Firefox 5 and change one line in their code to make it compatilbe. Most Add-ons that worked with Firefox 4 should still work with Firefox 5, but the developers need to update a line in their Add-on's code to indicate with which versions of Firefox the Add-on is compatible. The following Add-on adds a "Compatibility" button in your Add-ons > Extensions that you may need to click after installing it and restarting Firefox.

First and foremost, you are now a risk to Verizon due to having to make payment arrangements, thus their reasoning for not being able to bill the upgrade fees.
That said, I had the same exact problem as far ordering online and processing. I initially ordered online and my order was 'stuck' and 'had to be escalated' to be canceled. This actually happened twice within a week. When you call and order over the phone, as it is in retail, the prices differ and they wouldn't match it, although it's their own issue. You'll have a hard time getting any retail store to agree on giving up their stock for an online order, although when ordering, you're given the option.
Now, to the next point, there is no point in looking elsewhere for service. You'll run into an issue with any major carrier as they all operate virtually the same. Your best bet is a local carrier, if they service your area.

Upgraded my iPad to v 5.0.1 and can find no way to add an event to iCal. There are no longer any " " signs and tapping on the calendar doesn't do anything except turn the page. Any suggestions? It worked fine before the upgrade.

Go to iPad>Settings>iCloud, and turn Calendars "Off." Then after waiting a couple of minutes turn Calendars back "On."

I have had my Ipod touch 4th gen for 2+ years and was working fine until I upgraded to ios 6.1.3. Now I cannot play games and most of my apps keep crashing.

My ipod was working just fine for the past 2 years and ever since upgrading to ios 6.1.3, i simply cannot play games or anymore such as Subway surfers, carrot fantasy, 4 pics 1 word, etc. I also noticed that i had 1.2 GB of free space on ios 5.1.1 but then decreased to 900+ MB after "upgrading" to ios 6.1.3. I then deleted one of my space-hungry apps (the sims freeplay) to clear up some space and now have 1.6 GB of free memory. Just a thought, could apple have purposely done this with their software update to actually make an older, phased-out product such as my ipod touch 4th gen work worse than it has in its previous versions of softwares to force you to scrap it for a newer product?

My iPad 2 worked fine until the upgrade to 5.1. Now when it connects to airport on my Mac it loses the connection in a few seconds.

I've asked friends who have had similar experience after the upgrade.

A few things to try.
Before doing these, turn off your Internet modem, your computer, your iPad and your router.
Then start the devices in this order
Modem
Router
Computer
iPad
Wait until each device is running and connected to the Internet before starting the next device. If this works forget the next two items.
1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap the little blue arrow to the right of your network name > Forget this Network
Then let you iPad reconnect and see if it then works properly.
2. Go to Settings > General > Reset (scroll to the bottom) > Reset Netork settings.
Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. After the iPad restarts see if yourvipad will find and connect to the network.

Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!
