Since installilng Adobe Reader 9 Firefox is very slow & "not responding" How can this be fixed?

Yesterday I installed Adobe Reader 9. Also Firefox became incredibly slow and I keep seeing strange site names in the lower left of the screen. I keep getting "not responding messages", and in 1-2 minutes the screen I wanted comes up. I don't know if they are related. Norton keeps finding lots of "cookies" to remove as well. But that happened prior to this issue.

Try updating Java via Windows Control Panel. The current version is 1.6.0_24. The version you appear to be running is 1.6.0_20

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

With computer running Windows 7 using the curser can select an item, then right click and select copy. With computer running Windows 8 there is a hand instead of a curser therefore unable to select an item, therefore unable to copy. Is there a way to have a curser rather than the hand?
Eureka!!! Just found by right clicking on the hand can then select “Select Tool” and then copy. Hurray!!!

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

Does the same thing happen on any other books that you have in the app ? If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

You may have to restore your iPad using Recovery mode, but try a reset first. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons when you see the logo. This takes about 10-15 seconds.
