Since updating my iPhone 3GS it IOS6 I can no longer connect to iTunes. How can I fix this? I checked the settings for iTunes and it appears to be correct.
I have now managed to sign into iCloud but I still don't seem to be able to sign up my Apple ID for iMessage

I had this problem too recently. I kept restoring as new iphone and it kept coming back to this screen after 12hrs of restoring. I got fed up and decided to select the set up as new phone and it popped over to the normal sync screen and started syncing all my apps back and set the phone up as it was.
Must be a bug in the system. -
While trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOs6 it froze on the connect to itunes screen and i needed to do a restore. But it restored my phone to january 2011 even though i just backed my phone to my laptop up 2 weeks ago. I still have all my contacts but i lost a lot of apps and text messages. Is there any way to make it restore to my most recent back up?
I tried powering down and re-starting the iPhone (as suggested at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). This seems to have cleared the "...not connected to the Internet" problem, and iOS 6.1 is now in the process of downloading.

Since updating my iPhone 3GS on my friends laptop, it keeps asking for her iTunes Id not mine. When I log onto a computer it comes up with my Id but from my phone it's my friends. I don't have an option to change the user Id when it pops up either. So I can't update my apps, download songs or games now as it will charge my friend

Thank you for the question. This behavior is normal if updated on another Apple ID account holders computer. To change the Apple ID on your device, follow the steps in the article below.

Since updating my iphone 3gs to the ios 5.1.1 updating. My phone has been not reckonising wifi as existing and when it does find my wifi eg at home. It will then connect or disconnect randomly.
Will we have to await a new update? or has there been any fixes identified for this issue?iMessage is activated and the settings are exactly the same as yet were before I updated (when iMessage worked) and I have full Internet signal, both wifi & 3G but it doesn't work though either. I have had no error messages it just simple won't work.

I have the same problem after updating to the latest iTunes. I purchased an iPhone 4S this past summer and gave my 3GS to my 6 year-old minus the SIM card-- an instant iPod Touch. Things were fine until the latest version of iTunes 11.0. Until I updated to 11.0.1, iTunes would not even "see" the iPhone.

Try resetting the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You will not lose any data as a result of the resets. -

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
