Since updating to mountain Lion, it's like being back in the 80's taking 30 seconds to load a page? Is this common or are there any ideas? I've checked my router and my ISP are all in order. Whilst the mac is wired to the router, everything else in the house is running fine off the wifi network. I am not very technically minded so any help is appreciated.

Which model and version of iMac do you have, AND more importantly, How many GB's of RAM do you have? Mountain Lion has shown itself to be very memory intensive in operation and the bare minimum amount of RAM to achieve any system speed is 4 GB's, according to other Forum users' experience, and mine. And more RAM than that speeds it up more.

For your model, that would mean to match them horizontally; in newer iMacs with vertical RAM installation, they should be matched: slot 1 + 3, and slots 2 + 4 (which, oddly enough, will result in the same picture if your check the RAM in system info).

Problems with my Time Capsule since updated to Mountain Lion

Since I have updated my MacBook Air (late 2010 model) to OS X Mountain Lion, I am experiencing problems connecting my Macbook Air to Time Capsule and experiencing problems in Time Machine copies to the Time Capsule:
1.- When I turn on my computer, Time Machine starts working, taking a lot of time searching the backup disc (my Time Capsule), then appears an error message (Can not find the disk or it says that the Time Capsule is already in use);
2.- After several attemps (restarting the computer and restarting the Time Capsule), sometimes Time Machine starts to work, but it shows that it has to copy approximatly 28 G. Also the copy is to slow (it only copied 500 Megabytes in two days).
In the meanwhile the Time Capsule light is turned on (green) - so it seems the Time Capsule is working normally an the problem would be Time Machine.
I would not like to restart everytime my Time Capsule or restart my computer in order to make Time Machine works. I would really appreciate help for solving this problem (I apologize for my so basic English).
My Airport Utility Version is 6.1 (610.31)
My Time Capsule Version: 7.6.1.
My Computer: MacBook Air (late 2010)
My System: OS X Mountain Lion (when I used OS X Lion all was working normal)

The first backup after an update will be quite slow (but shouldn't be anywhere near that slow). And the searching on the backup disk will have to be repeated on every backup attempt until one completes normally.
Connect to the TC via an Ethernet cable.
Also see the green box in #D2 of Time Machine - Troubleshooting. Something there may help get back on track.

My HD makes permanent noise since updating to Mountain Lion

Hello guys,
since I updated my mbp early 2011 to Mountain Lion the hard drive makes a permanent noise as if the little disc in there would run all the time at full speed. I already did everything described in Forums and TechBlogs throughout the web. It's not the spotlight indexing, I don't have many apps and stuff running, I did reset the SMC and PRAM or VRAM, I checked console and activity monitor for noticeable information, I played around with various options in various programmes, I updated everything and deleted unimportant stuff... But nothing...
While I looked through the Internet I got to know, that this noise is kind of common to early 2011-mbps. But I can't take that for an answer, because I haven't had that noise while running my mac with Snow Leopard.
Has anyone an idea what I can do to solve this? Again, I don't believe it's a hardware-problem since the noise began with Mountain Lion.

Ever since updating to Mountain Lion, I cannot watch live streams.

Hey, since updating to ML, something seems to be interrupting how Flash is working.
I am unable to see live video streams in the browser.
When I try to use VOKLE, for example, it seems to load fine and then I get an error from Vokle telling me to make sure I have an internet connection and allow RTMP traffic. Same story with Stickam, it connects but then shows me a blank screen.
I've tried:
Reinstalling Flash and messing with the settings (allow storage of data etc.).
Chrome and Safari
Disabling OS X Firewall & Sophos
Nothing seems to work, I haven't had this problem with Lion and I am pulling my hair out!
MSN messenger refuses to sign in also, this seems related to me maybe, it just tries for a long time then fails.
It seems like there is something blocking incoming connections BUT WHAT?

The option to create iCal calendars 'on my mac' has gone since updating to mountain lion

I can create a new calendar 'on my mac' in busycal, but not in ical.
I also cannot create a new reminder list 'on my mac'

I think it's a bug. Same thing happened to me and I managed to fix it.
In Calendar->Preferences->Accounts, disable the iCloud account (there's a simple tickbox). All the iCloud calendars will disappear from Calendar's list.
Now create a new calendar, and it will appear "On My Mac". Make sure that the new calendar does not have the same name as any of your iCloud calendars, to avoid Calendar being tempted to merge them later.
Go back to the preferences and re-enable iCloud. All the iCloud calendars will reappear, and your File->New Calendar menu should now give you the choice of creating in the cloud or locally.
Somehow it got stuck and forgot about the On My Mac choice at installation time, but it seems OK now.

Especially after 'sleep' mode the bluetooth keyboard and mouse are lost and although I keep an old wired mouse
handy for such problems....I can't access the Bluetooth settings to sort things.....the spinning ball nonstop.
What I do is...Force shutdown by holding power button for two seconds...When shutdown PULL power cord out from rear of iMac....wait 5 seconds.. replace and switch iMac on again.
As long as bluetooths ar 'discoverable' it restores connection.
We will both look forward to another Apple iMac software update to sort this glitch....or I HOPE so

Since updating to mountain lion 10.8 my Epson DX6000 does not work

It says that it is not connected. Apple advisor told me to delete the printer so now it doesn't show up at all.
He told me to wait until it was available on software update but surely Epson would have know about the release of 10.8 and had its drivers ready for launch.
Is there any way to get my printer working as it is embarrassing now to say to clients that I can only email estimates instead of posting them?

My iPad will not rotate. I have the solutions that were on here and none of them work. It is not locked I have checked.

I have searched for a possible reason to why my iPad will not rotate. I found this forum and tried the solutions posted but they did not work. This is not my first apple product, so I am not completely ignorant to this. I searched in the ad it self to see why but apparently no settings were changed. It worked fine, i pluged it in so I can take care of the baby and when I went to pull it off and use it, it would not rotate any more.

Seriously, despite your comments, I strongly suspect that the issue is an incorrect setting. It's easy to accidentally mess it up if you're new to the iPad.
The side switch is the key. Depending on your settings, it may affect the mute or it may affect the rotation lock. This support article from Apple provides detail.

In case you're wondering, here is the history. Originally, the mechanical switch affected only the rotation lock and the mute was a software switch elsewhere. In IOS-3, it was changed to be the mute switch and the rotation lock became a software switch. This was done to ensure consistency among IOS devices. Unfortunately, a large quantity of users complained loudly, alleging that they turned the rotation lock on and off several times every hour and the convenience of the mechanical switch is essential. In IOS-4, Apple bowed to the whiners and made the switch function selectable and now we're stuck with a mess.

Open the Time Machine pane in System Preferences. If it shows that Time Machine is ON, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner, if necessary, to unlock it. Scroll to the bottom of the list of backup drives and click Add or Remove Backup Disk. Remove all the disks, then add them back. Quit System Preferences. Test.
