Since upgrading to Firefox 27.0 some webpages will not load when I click on them. It gives me a message saying that Firefox can't find the server.

Since upgrading to Firefox 27.0 some webpages will not load when I click on them. It gives me a message saying that Firefox can't find the server. I have to click the link several time before it will load and sometimes when they do load it does not show the page right. It is like the HTML is messed up or something. I have tried everything I can think of. I started in safe mode, still did it., I removed add-ons, still did it., I reset Firefox and still did it., I completely uninstalled Firefox and re-installed Firefox and it still does it. I have tried Malware Bytes Anti-Malware scans and Avast boot-time scans and found no malware or viruses. I have found that those websites open the first time with no problems on my IE9 and they used to do so in Firefox 26.0. I'm at my wit's end. The website links are in my bookmarks and are used all the time so they are trusted and my avast is set to allow them. They range from news websites to gun websites and everything I have read says that Mozilla does not filter those unless something has changed recently.

Try this as a first step;<BR><BR>
Clear the Cache '''''Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"'''''<BR><BR>
and<BR><BR>
Remove Cookies '''''Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"'''''<BR><BR>
If there is still a problem,
'''''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]'''''
While you are in safe mode;
'''''Firefox Options > Advanced > General'''''. Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Some links are not working when i click on them

I will click on a link and it loads and then nothing. The only way I can open it is to open link in new tab. This has been happening since the new updates. Very frustrating as I have to resort to Google Chrome in order to not have to deal with this. Lots of links will not open.

Nothing in header. Email from booking.com. Richard

  • Since upgrading to OS X yosemite my printer will not work.

Since upgrading to OS X Yosemite my printer will not work.

I found the solution in another thread. Thanks to frankglyn who posted it there.
I've just copied it here, as this seems to be the most active thread on this subject.
The solution (steps A to C) worked fine for me and others and should work for you as well, until Kodak will come with an updated driver. Then, you can revert the changes as also described below (steps 1 to 7)
    A) in Spotlight Type Terminal and then press enter.
This should bring up the terminal window/program.
    B) In the Terminal type sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf'
It will ask for your password.
    C) After that type following: sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
After that if you are lucky the printer driver should start to work. (which it did in my case)
I hope this works out for you, if not then you can do following to revert the changes:
In case you want/have to revert the changes:
    1) Open the terminal as usual (Spotlight type Terminal hit enter and wait for the terminal window to appear)
    2) then type: cd /etc/cups
    3) then type: sudo nano cups-files.conf
    4) 'type in your password'
This brings up a command line editor which you can use to edit the file
    5) Remove the last line which says Sandboxing Relaxed
    6) press 'ctrl x'
And then confirm with y when being asked if you want to save the changes
    7) after that type sudo launchctl start org.cups.cupsd

  • Webpages will not load correctly on any browser

    Hey all,
About 3 weeks ago I took the leap and upgraded my works PC from Windows 8 to 8.1 (as a test before doing the rest). Unfortunately since this time I've been continually encountering a major issue.
This issue is that webpages will not load correctly (about half the time). Since the day I upgraded I've had issues with this, across all browsers. Sometime a webpage will load, sometimes it'll partially load and sometimes it seems to have loaded but actually
hasn't (I.e. none of the links/inputs work). If I have an issue on a page, the only way I can get it to load is to click the stop button, navigate away from the page and then navigate back.
I've tries assessing the problem with Firebug and it seems that the HTTP transfer is being cut-off at a certain point (which is non-consistent). The webpage is then stuck in a state of 'Transferring data' and will never finish loading.
I've been looking around for answers and have come across some suggested solutions like running the All In One fix from tweaking.com, or flushing the DNS cache every few hours, but nothing is working.
Has anyone any suggestions for how I could fix (or even further troubleshoot) this problem?
    Thanks
    David

  • "Firefox can't find the server at ..." error message

I frequently get the "Firefox can't find the server at ..." message but in most cases clicking "refresh" gets to the relevant website. Based on limited usage of IE, IE doesn't give the same problems. In attempting to resolve the issue I've deleted and reallowed Firefox through the firewall, tried starting in safe mode, cleared the cache, made suggested additional entries though About:config, etc. all to no avail. Judging from discussion threads this problem appears to be very common but none of the solutions I've tried work. Any suggestions for possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

This problem has occurred frequently since upgrading to 3.6 and upwards, all the way to 6.0. It is so persistent a problem that I am seriously considering bidding farewell to Firefox for a while.
I have IE, Chrome, Opera, Netscape and ArmorSurf as alternatives. Even the old Netscape Navigator (version 9+) gives me less problems than Firefox.
Another major annoyance with Firefox: Upgrades too often cause the loss of previously functioning add-ons (some of which had cost money for the premium versions).
Firefox has lost its razzle-dazzle for me. Too bad.

  • Safari 3.0.4 with Leopard: webpage will not load on Leopard

I installed Leopard on Friday. The new Safari is part of the install. I have tried to open a webpage to access my mail at work. I have used this webpage dozens of times each day with the older OS X.
With the upgrade to Leopard this page will not load. I had no choice but to download Firefox.
Does anyone have any idea why one particular webpage will not load?
I have cleared cache, history, cookies.
    -SG

I made a guest account, the site works. I went back into my screen name /account and completely wiped out safari saved settings-losing my passwords ect. It works, so i guess i have to recall passwords again,

  • I cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried redownloading it but it still gave me the same message?

i cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried downloading it again but it still gave me the same message. the problem has nothign to do with my internet because it wonks on internet explorer and everythign is fine, my computer just can't access firefox for some reason. i tried uninstallign ti adn then installing it again, but that didnt work, i tried installing a different version and it still didnt work.
okay the exact message is" Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Forefox 4.0 Beta 1\firefox.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
Nothing happens after i install is the "Launch Firefox now" checkbox set, the same message comes up.
i usually start firefox from the shortcut i have on my desktop but when this happened i thought that the shortcut is the problem, but i went to the Mozilla firefox folder and tried it from there, but it didnt work. i also tried downloading different versions of firefox but that didnt work either.

can you tell me the solution to "windows cant find firefox" error. thanks.

  • My firefox works but my safari will not load anything

my firefox works but my safari will not load any websites

What OS version are you running?
    10.10
Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items.  Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History and Web Site Data. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.

  • Lower "firefox can't find the server at"

when Firefox fails to get to a server, it bumps the message box "firefox can't find the server at [server]".
example: i'm on my main tab, opening several links with middle click. while on it, firefox gets me to a background tab for that message. then when i get back to my main tab, i forget where i was...
the way i want to work is that the message will appear only when i click on that tab (and possibly have the tab flash to some other color until then).
    is it possible?
is there an addon or about:config twaek that can change it?
Xircal: what i asked is not why i get the message (is seems the server is down, or giving back 404- file not found).
what i wanted is to get the message only when i get to the said tab, not while doing something else.

    See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_any_website
Sometimes the page may have changed in the meantime, but the tab you've gone back to hasn't refreshed to reflect that. Hitting the F5 key to reload the page will work if that is indeed the case.
Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit, possibly the one called "Redirect Remover" you have installed.

  • I'm getting a message saying that Firefox cannot establish a connection to google.

Something happened to Firefox yesterday - and now all I can get is a message saying that Firefox cannot establish a connection to google.
I searched for help via IE and I tried all the fixes suggested. I even restored my computer to an earlier state- that didn't change anything; set network settings to No Proxy; then I uninstalled Firefox, deleted all the program files, and then reinstalled - but nothing seems to work.
I really don't want to have to use IE, and I'm not technical enough to really know what I'm doing at this point. I'm afraid I might have lost all my bookmarks, screwed something(s) up on my computer etc.
This is SOOOOOOOOOO irritating and frustrating - can someone help me please.

Sorry to hear about your bookmarks. When you uninstalled Firefox, did you tell it to remove your personal data? That unfortunately would be irreversible, so hopefully you didn't do that.
You mentioned deleting some folders. Your bookmarks and other Firefox settings data normally are stored in a hidden folder under C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox. I'm not sure whether you dug down and deleted folders under there. If so, please check the Windows Recycle bin and try to restore the Mozilla\Firefox folder to a safe location (e.g., Documents).
Did you use Firefox's Reset feature at any point? That would have moved your old settings folder to your desktop, inside a folder named Old Firefox Data. Hold on to that if you have it.
Regarding Google, I wonder whether your computer has contracted any malware infections that might be modifying your access. You could try the tools in our support article [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. Those are free and take a considerable amount of time to run. If they seem to finish quickly and require a payment for cleaning, you may have a serious infection. In that case, try the specialized malware cleanup forums listed in the article.

  • When I try to start Firefox, I get a message saying that Firefox is already running and cannot be re-started, so close down and reboot.

Following an upgrade of my OS from XP to Vista, I tried to point the new installation at my old profile. Now when I try to start FF, I get a message saying that it is already running and I should reboot to clear the problem. I've done that but the problem remains. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled v4 beta. The problem remains. Any ideas?

OK, I had moved the profile file inside the profile folder which was created when I installed FF, to the main FF folder. I then took the equivalent file which existed under XP before my upgrade to vista, and moved it into the new Profile folder. That's when I hit the problem described in the initial question.
So, what I did following Tony's response was to move the bookmarks password and cookies files into the profile created on the install. I then moved that file into the profile folder and moved the one I'd saved from XP, out to the main FF folder.
Started FF and voila! All working fine. Thanks for your help.
