Single business group Vs. multiple business groups

Hi,
I have a case where the user wants to implement Oracle HRMS (Core HR, Payroll, Self Service) in 4 countries. All countries have common procedures but there is some procedures like end of service, Taxation differ from country to another.
There is some employees have managers in different country. How this will handle in the self service?
Should I choose a single business group or go with the multiple business groups.

HI
If you are going live with one BG and latter you need to convert to a multi Business Group then you need to migrate these data in the current BG to the new BG. this is similar to the Shared HR to Full HR conversion Project
The thing to be noted if you are live with one BG and trying to convert to Multi BG
Before you run the Legislation patches for the new BG, you need to create the New Business and complete the Data migration to the new business group and latter you Run the New Legislation patch which will help you reduce the work
Also you should take care of the Audit, when you migrate the employee to the new BG then the Old records has to be maintained for the Audit
Also The Legal Entity, Operating Unit and the Inv Org has to be aligned to the New BG
Since you are implementing now you think of going multi BG now itself..If you need to build the New BG after go live.. you need to come up with solution design Doc and it will be a separate project

  • How to migrate single Business group to multiple Business Group

    Hi Experts,
Does anyone have experience with the migration of single BG to multiple BG???.
    Thx
    Mehdi

    Hi Srini
I will go in little bit deaper:
When we have one BG and all employees are in one BG, that is not any issue. Now we wanted to differentiate between different BG's. That is the my question about the migration. When we had several BG's, than the task would be easy, but what happen with emplyees, which will be assigned to another BG???.
Example: Currently we have BG XX, which include all the employees from all subsidiaries. We will know create BG1, BG2, BG3. The emplyees aa,bb,cc should be assigned to BG1 and son one. That is exactly my question. Or we could use Mass Movement??.
    Thx

  • How to go for multiple business group

    Dear All.
This is a very common and perhaps very old question now. But I just want to check what is the common process to go through to achieve multiple business groups. We are in oracle 12.1.XX and have single business group but now looking to implement more business group for other countries in same instance. I understand most of the objects would be same and they can be reused like DFF, Locations, Lookups, Value set etc but need to focus more on RICEW components.  May I request you to please share your experience on this and let me what are the mandatory steps we need to follow, like running some seeded programs, restructuring other objects, creating seprate DFF, Valueset etc.
Thank you in advance (But that dosent mean I will not thank you later on )
    Avinash

    Hi Vignesh,
Thanks again for your quick response..
We are not migrating employee records.. we have one business group already and we want to create new business group for newly aquired company which is in other legislation. So just want to know what would be impact on existing BG and what are the objects we can reuse. For example we need to create New responsibilities, Menu, functions, job, position, person type etc.. Similarly we can use existing location, valuesets from existing BG in our new BG. Like this we want to create a list first so that we can plan our implimanation and come up with timeline..
I hope it is clear now.
    Thanks,
    Avinash

  • Multiple Business Groups setup

    Hi experts
I am looking for an example for setting up multiple BG's (word document, ppt).
    Thanks in advance

Please let us know if you are facing any particular problem. Setting up multiple business groups is similar to setting up Single business group.
If you have created a new business group in your instance, you will already have two business groups
    1. Setup Business Group
    2. Your own business group.
So you are already in a multiple business group scenario in your instance.
Create different security profiles for each business group.
The HR: Business Group profile has to be set at the responsibility level for each responsibility.
    Hope this helps.

  • Multiple Business groups???

    Hi,
I am having very basic question in my mind.
Why do we need to have multiple business groups if the company is working only in US and runnig same set of books?
Or what is the factor which decides definition of multiple business groups?
This question might sounds to be very basic but I am not able to find answer for it.
    Regards,
    Soham

    Soham,
The current best practice configuration model is to use business groups only as legislative containers representing countries, and not to appear as a management reporting structure in the organization hierarchy.

Enterprise and Workforce Management Guide (Global)
    Release 11i
    Part No. B14467-01

However, there are reasons for setting up multiple Business Groups in the same
    installation, such as the following:
    • You want to have a copy of your live system with example records for training or
    testing purposes.
    • You are a holding company or a corporation with a number of subsidiary
companies. Each subsidiary has its own structures, employees, and compensation and benefit policies. If your subsidiaries are in different countries you also have to
    deal with local legislative requirements.
    • You are acquiring a company or merging with another company, and you want to
maintain separate structures and compensation and benefits during the transition
    process.

  • Single step workflow with multiple approvers (without using a group)

    Hi,
is it possible to have a single step workflow with multiple approvers without using a group? This is for a contract document.
i want to add a number of users based on particular logic. The approvers are random and do not belong to any particular group.
DO let me know if it is possible or if any of you have done that.
    thanks in advance.
    regards,
    rubio

    Hi Rubio,
I believe the behavior would be, if individual users are added as approvers then the system would require each approver to approve the document. However, if you use the user group, you could set the role so that it would be either ALL or ANY.

  • Provisioning multiple AD Groups from a Single Privilege

    Experts,
We're encountering a situation here when we provision to multiple Active Directory groups from a single IDM Role.
    The scenario is this:
We have a workflow that has multiple conditional and switch tasks that result in the provisioning of users to Active Directory 2008 (mixed mode) Our workflow uses the provisioning framework and all users have been granted the ONLY privilege for the system.
The workflow will result in adding the users to multiple AD groups sometimes two AD groups that are associated with a single IDM role. The first assignment always works, the second does simply does not occur, no entry in the system or job log although IDM does show that the role has been assigned with an 'OK' status.
We've accomplished a workaround by redesigning the workflow so that only single roles are assigned at a time and using chain result OK links to move from one provisioning activity to another, but frankly, we are unsatisfied with this.  IDM should be handling this much better through
I'm wondering if we have a pending value floating out there and we should just be applying the pending value at the end of every AD group add.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Matt,
In your post you mention "I'm wondering if we have a pending value floating out there and we should just be applying the pending value at the end of every AD group add"... I'm faced with a similar issue were I'm left pending values for privileges after the group is assigned.
I've imported the AD groups as privileges. I assign them without issue. But when I review the assignments I can see that each corresponding privilege assignment now has a pending value. I can not remove the privilege from the user at this point.
Have you seen this before? Any suggestions on how I can clean this up. BTW, I'm using the SAP PF basically unchanged...
    Thanks!

  • Business Partner Role  and Business Partner Grouping

    Hello Everybody!
Business Partner Role  and Business Partner Grouping.
Which correlation ist between this attributes existing.
In which table are this infos stored, In order create I can use
    e.g. BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA
but how is the way inversely. Suppose I want to abtain the information
about a existing business partner which group he has etc.
    Regards
    sas

    Dear Sas,
Business Partner Grouping is used to determine the number ranges to be used by the business partner at the time of creation.
Business Partner Role determines the subset of all the data available to be shown and edited.
I will give you a very simple (but imaginary) example for understanding the role concept: the business partner in a role of employee might allow you to enter a department id. So this field should be available to you for input when you edit the business partner in the role of employee. But suppose the same business partner is also a person who is your customer. And your customer will require a default payment term. So this field should be available for input when you edit the business partner in the role of a customer. Also, some applications use these roles to determine if the business partner is suitable for particular transaction. In the above example, Payroll application will only allow those Business Partner to be used if they are maintained as an employee. Similarly the sales application can mandate that you can only sell a product to a business partner if he is maintain in a 'customer' role.
Please understand the example above is not real but given for the understanding of the concept of role.
You can use the function module 'BUPA_CENTRAL_GET_DETAIL' to find the business partner group. And you can use the function 'BUPA_ROLES_GET' to find the role assigned to a Business Partner.

  • Single Business Area versus multiple profit center issue

    Dear Experts,
My client is basically an infrastructure company. We have received a roll out
project under a department which inturn is  billed to another department
under the same company code. Now I am planning to create a single business
area and multiple profit centers under that BA. This is because the business
is same but responsible areas of profit are two different departments.
Now I am not sure on the set up process and how do knock off etc are achieved
to get the financial reports balanced.
Cost of dept 1 is revenue of dept 2. For this I create a BA and also
2 profit centers. I do assignment in OKB9. What are other settings required.
Which profit center would be assigned in the material master?
My whole idea is to use a single BA with multiple profit centers, if one to one
relationship is the best way of approach then I shall follow that. But kindly give
inputs if I use single BA with multiple PC's how effective usage can I make of the
whole system. client is using MM, SD, PM, PP, FI, CO, PS modules.
    Regards
    Komal

    Hi,
Recently we have got a business requirement for the concept of Single Plant which is assigned to multiple profit centers. I would request any of you to help me with any points which has the pros and cons of this set up.
First think why many profit center required for one plant explain it ?
Now you know from where system will take profit center in accounting docuement ?
as per me system take from Material master costing view
you have project base company or client or WBS at your end ?
In one material we can assign single profit center
In on cost center we can assign single profit center
so can you explain your requirement exactly

  • Assignment of single Sales group to multiple Sales offices not possible

    Hi all,
We need to assign single sales group to multiple sales offices in CRM. When we try to assign a Sales group to more than one Sales office the first assignment between Sales group and Sales office is removed. Only the new assignment is available.
Instead of having two assignments I still only get one.
First I transfered the ECC organization as Standard backend integration. When I realize I needed multiple backend assignment I ran the Conversion to multiple assignments. However, I am not able to realize multiple assignments.
Is it not possible to realize multiple assignment if you first transfered the ECC organization as standard (single) assignment?
Please let me know how to overcome this problem.
    Regards
    Anders

    Hello Anders,
Starting CRM 4.0 multiple hierarchy with this enhanced org data model
    works the following way:
    - 1 R/3 org data mapped to ONLY 1 CRM org unit.
    - multiple hierarchy (1 sales office assigned to several sales org,
1 sales group assigned to several sales office) is managed in the detail
of the org unit with tab Function and with sub tab sales office
    and sales group.
For example if you have following R/3 org structure:
    Sales org SOr1
    _ Sales office Sof1
          _ Sales Group Sg1
    _ Sales office Sof2
          _ Sales Group Sg1
    Sales org SOr2
    _ Sales office Sof1
In PPOMA_CRM you have to do the following:
    For the R3 mapping :
Sor1 mapped to org unit 50000001
Sor2 mapped to org unit 50000002
Sof1 mapped to org unit 50000003
Sof2 mapped to org unit 50000004
Sg1 mapped tp org unit 50000005
    And for the multiple assignment
    - For sales org 50000001 and 50000002 you just have to maintain in tab
function, sub tab Sales org the Distribution channel division values
    - For sales office 50000003 in sub tab Sales office the assignment to
    sales org Sor1 and Sor2
    - For sales office 50000004 in sub tab Sales office the assignment to
    sales org Sor1
    - For sales group 50000005 in sub tab sales group the assignment to
    sales office Sof1 and Sof2.
If you have different division distribution channel on sales office sale
group compared to the sales org you can maintain manually the values.
Or if is it always the same values you can use * value for distribution
channel division (in that case please read carefully notes
    691015 and 735020 if needed)
In addition regarding report CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE I would like to
clarify that this report can only be used for initial download, as
written in the customzing documentation of this report (spro-CRM -
master data -  org management - data transfer - Copy SAP R/3 sales
structure ) it can only be executed once and so following org
modifications have to be done manually in PPOMA_CRM.
So for this report the correct way to use it is to create all the R/3
    org data in 1 shot.
If only 1 R/3 org data is already mapped to a CRM org unit in ppoma_Crm
you will have red light and so it will be impossible to create all
    dependent org data.
Hoping i have been able to clarify how it works.
    Regards, Gerhard

  • Create Business Partner-FPP1-issue with grouping

    HI
I am trying to create business partner using FPP1 transaction with my own grouping but i am getting error.
error "You cant create a customer with grouping PS05'.
here PS05 is my own grouping with number range defined.
please check the attached screens for details. What is wrong with my grouping? am not sure.
    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    regards
    giri

    Hi Giri,
Seems like you have done the setting for BP grouping with internal number range which is fine. Please be advised that business partner groupings need to have different number ranges and different data has to be entered for each business partner type.
If you getting this error in-spite of defining the number range and assigning the number ranges in customizing then perhaps you missed out the assignment of Business Partner (BP) Type since Business Partner types can be used to group business partners.
When a BP is created, the "business partner type" appears on the initial screen and the control data screen. BP type offers grouping possibilities for business partners.
You can define and assign BP types in
    Cross-Application Components->SAP Business Partner->Business Partner->Basic Settings->Define Business partner types.
BP types are defined by a unique partner type number and a description. After this you can proceed to configure field attributes in the "field grouping" as per the selected business partner type.
Let us know if you get the same error in-spite of maintaining the above mentioned settings.
    Thanks,
    Sagar

  • Single Workflow to trigger from multiple business objects

Can a single workflow be triggered for multiple business objects. We already have a workflow which triggers when there is error in the document. Can we use same workflow for other objects (Opportunity, lead etc..) or do we have to create separate workflows for each objects?

Yes you check.Check the business object by passing test data in the function module.
check with import and export parameters and check with the business object with the transaction
after testing of business object check the status at transaction swel for event trace.

  • Multiple sales groups in single salse office

    Hi ,
Can we maintain multiple salses groups for single sales office in sap crm

    Hi
No we can not maintain multiple sales groups for a single sales office in sap crm until and unless  we convert org model to represent multiple assignments in SAP ECC or R/3.
Path for maintaining this setting is
spro>crm>org management>data transfer> convert org model to represent multiple assignments of SAP ECc.
    or
    Transaction code- CRMSC_SWITCH_ORGMODEL
    Reward points if it helps

  • Hire a contractor from Belgium business group to US business group

    Hi All,
My client has a requirement that they want to hire the contractor from Belgium business group to US business group as full time employee. We have those employees entered as contractors in belgium responsibility. Please let me know how to handle this.
    Thank,
    MP.

You could take a look at Global Overseas Deployment (GOD/GOLD) functionality but that's designed to transfer employees from one business group to another. It doesn't handle a change in system person type at the same type.
Regardless of whether you use GOD/GOLD or not, the most common way of doing this is to effectively mirror the same process:
    1. You terminate the contractor in the source Business Group
    2. You re-create the person as an employee in the target business group
    3. The two can be linked together via party_id for custom reporting (etc)
    Does that help?

  • Integration of multiple business role profiles in a single Z role profile

    Hi experts,
I want to see all the work center available in service pro role and interaction center role profiles in a single Z business role prfole on the WEB UI.
Please advise me the possibilities of the integration of multiple business role profiles in a single Z role profile(Example like Administratoru2019s profile).
If it is possible what would be the approach please suggest me.
    Thanks in advance
    sameera

Copy one of this 2 roles which you want to use in Z role and then manualy assign additional workcenters and links to this Z role which you are still missing.
There is no standard predelivered admin role which would have all workcenters.
