Single clicking tool in tool panel, drop-down opens, supposed to be on hover/doubleclick

Okay, so I reinstalled windows along with photoshop cs5 extended x64, and now, when ever I click on any item in the tool panel, the drop-down menu pops out, and its extremely annoying.
It never used to do this, I had to like either click & hold or double click or something.
I just want to be able to use the tools without having to be bothered by the drop down menu.
That's what happens now after single clicking on any of the tools with the arrow in the lower right corners.
Please help, it is extremely frustrating!
Thanks,
Jordan

You're saying the alternate tools selection opens immediately?  I have to click and hold for about 1/2 second for the alternate tools selector to open up.
How is your double click speed set (control panel, mouse)?
Does choosing Window - Tool Presets from the main menu, then using the Panel menu and choosing Reset Tools help?

    Yes we can achieve this. But you need to use internal table in dropdownlist as show below:

             entry-name = 'IC'.   entry-value = 'IC Text'.
             APPEND entry TO itab.
             entry-name = 'PM'.  entry-value = 'PM Text'.

    delete itab where name = doc_type.  " This will remove selected entry from Itab.
    if doc_type = 'IC'

  • Metadata Panel - Drop-Down & Boolean

    I recently built a Bridge MetaData panel; however, I was only able to create text fields. Does anyone know how to build drop-down and boolean fields? If you could provide an example of the type of code you used, that would be very helpful. Just a side note, I see drop-down menus in the IPTC metadata panel, but I can't find the xmp file - Maybe as a generic panel supplied by Adobe this isn't supplied. If anyone knows where I could find the file, that might also be helpful. Thank you!

    I'm Looking to do this as well.
    Is the Following something that has to be done using Flex?
    Is there a Code sample someplace?
    This following, doesn't work to create that type of list for a Adobe Bridge custom panel.

  • Finder Drop Down: Open With: Killing me.

    This is not a major issue but when right-clicking on the Finder, like to send something to the Trash, there is also that Open With option.
    I guess I have a lot of Applications - major & minor freebies - 'cause now almost every time I get the dreaded 'spinning beachball,' if I even get near that Open With opion.
    Is there a way to get rid of that whole Open With opiton in that drop-down menu or a way of reducing the number of choices that come up - most of which are ridiculous anyway.
    ??

    Success! I zipped the Droplets than trashed the originals. Boom - they were gone.
    Feeling inspired I went looking for a: "launchservices database," but since, as mentioned, it is constantly generated in real time it didn't exist -- but a preference file for it existed so I trashed that. Boom - a whole bunch of other junk was gone.
    Now instead of having 64 unwanted, stupid 'Open With...' options I now only have 20 for pics (Safari, Firefox, Quicktime, Real Player and a few other unwanted choices, but Not Bad At All) and only 9 for text - 6 of them useful.
    And no more spinning beachballs.
    Oh Joy. A feature that was only a pain in the....is now, instead, something interesting and useful.
    Thanks Francine & Mike!
    (Note: I've marked both of the last two posts as: Helpful so you both get the credit -- if that actually does that; I worried that if I clicked Solved for one than I wouldn't have any more options).

  • Drop down overflow hidden then shown on hover...

    I am trying to make a drop down menu that only occupies 30px of vertical space but when you hover over the parts with drop down sections, the remaining 30px displays over the content below much like a normal drop down menu.  I have it working, but only if I include 60px of space for the menu.  See screen shots...
    The first one is what it looks like with the drop down not expanded.
    The second one is what it looks like with the drop down expanded.
    The third is what type of effect I am looking for.

    As you can see, I made my stage red so it can be seen, and it only occupies 30px until you hover over the menu and get the drop down portion.
    When the hover part comes in, it occupies 60px.  This is how I need it to work, but without taking up the extra 30px of real estate.

    Thank you the-edmeister.

    Searching on the web for something to open it I get the message from the windows website:

  • Photoshop CS6 Plug-ins not appearing when clicked under extension drop-down menu

    I noticed that for some reason, my default extensions that come with photoshop cs6 extended and also custom installed plug-ins won't appear when clicked on.  Usually you see a check mark by the plug-in if it is working and is visible on the photoshop layout as a panel.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, which the Kuler extension worked, but only under the workspace that I opened it up for.  So for example, I opened it up on Essential workspace, but it wouldn't appear when changed to painting workspace.  When I close the panel from the workspace, it won't ever come back up again even when clicked on under the extension drop-down menu on any workspace.  This is occuring not just on my desktop, but also on my laptop.  Both are not Photoshop CC, but regular Photoshop CS6.
    I don't really mess around with the extensions much, but once I found out about the painterswheel plugin, I really wanted to try it out, hence now noticing this extension issue with my plug-in..
    All my plug-ins appear on the drop down menu for Windows > Extensions, so it shouldn't be a file placement problem.  I have also tried the Adobe troubleshoot for plugins by uninstalling my plug-ins to see if third party plug-ins were the problem, but still my default plug-ins won't even work.

    I'm a little confused with what you write. There is a difference between extensions and Plug-ins.  Plug-ins are installed using the plug-ins installer and extensions are installed by "Adobe Extension Manager (version)" where version is the Photoshop version and the extension package must be created for that particular Photoshop version.  A CS5 package will not work in CS6 etc.   Installed extensions will be listed in Photoshop under menu Windows>Extensions>List of them.  Plug-in may install in the Filters menu or a place like menu File>Automate>Names.  Installed Extensions that you installed should also show in the  "Adobe Extension Manager (version)" window. Adobe installed extensions like Kuler and Mini Bridge do not show in the "Adobe Extension Manager (version)" window.

  • Drop down boxes ok in Crystal Reports but not ok in Crystal Reports Server

    I have the following problem with "dynamic dropdowns"
    Initially, I have a Crystal Report (.rpt).  It has two dynamic drop downs. They work
    in both Crystal Reports Designer (preview)  and Crystal Reports Server (right-click-View).
    The first drop down is the result of a rather complex sql query. The second drop down
    is a child of the first.
    I make a small change to the sql "WHERE" clause using the Crystal Reports Designer. It works fine in preview.
    I save (Enterprise mode) to Crystal Server. I use Business View Manager to configure
    the _DC_n object.  (I did notice that the .._DC_n gets incremented by one.)
    The _DF object seems to know about the updated sql so I do not have change it.
    However, when I go to back to Crystal Reports Server, and right-click-View, the
    "dynamic dropdown" is not working properly.  I can not make sense
    of what has been retrieved.
    Please tell me what is most likely to have gone wrong here?  The Business View Manager
    seemed to knew about the sql change. But Crystal Reports Server has
    not responded to the change in the same way as Crystal Reports Designer.
                       ...thank you, Stan

    When you publish a report to Crystal Server, the dynamic prompts are no longer handled in the report itself.  Instead depending on how they're published, they either go away or they're published to the "repository" and managed through the "Business View Manager" (BVM), which is available as part of the Client Tools install.
    To get the dynamic prompt into the repository, you have to check the "Enable Repository Refresh" checkbox at the bottom of the "Save As" screen after you log in to CRS.  However, doing it this way is NOT best practice, especially if you're using the query from the report to provide the data for the prompt.  If you do this for all of your reports, you get a LOT of bloat in the repository objects and it makes the job of migrating from one version of CRS to another MUCH more difficult!
    What I've done in the past to get a simple "sample" prompt published is create a report that just contains the data that I want to have in the dynamic parameter using a single table - this is usually what I call a "lookup" table that has a "code" field and a "description" or "name" field.  I then create a dynamic parameter in that report that just pulls the data from the single table.  I'll publish the report to my favorites with the Repository Refresh enabled.
    I then run the BVM and look for the following objects (default location is under "Cascading Dynamic Prompts":
    <prompt name>_DC - This is the Data Connection for the prompt.  Edit this, enter the password, and set it to "Never Prompt" for the password.  NOTE:  This DC can be reused by multiple prompts.  If you continue to add prompts through publishing Crystal Reports with prompts, you will get MANY of  these that all point to the same database!
    <prompt name>_DF - This is the Data Foundation for the prompts.  When you create a new one, you need to select an existing DC and then either one or more tables or write a command to provide the data for your prompt.  It works much like the Database Explorer in Crystal.  The one that was just saved has all of the information required for the prompt.
    <prompt name>_BE - This is the Business Element.  When you create one, you have to select and existing DF and one or more fields.  You can also create a filter on the data.  This is used to generate the SQL that will be run to provide the data for the prompt.
    <prompt name>_ BV - This is the Business View.  When you create one, you have to select the Business Element.  I'm not sure of the exact purpose of this, but you have to have one in order to set up the "List of Values".
    <prompt name> - This is the List of Values (LOV).  This defines what fields are available for the prompt itself.
    You can create folders to organize these objects so that its easier to maintain.
    To use a LOV that you've defined in BVM to feed data to new dynamic prompts, do the following:
    1.  Connect to CRS from Crystal.
    2.  Create/Edit your prompt.
    3.  Set the prompt to be dynamic.
    4.  Under "Choose a Data Source", select "Existing" and select the LOV from the drop-down list.
    5.  Update the properties in the parameter.
    When viewing or scheduling a report, the dynamic prompts will run through the Crystal Reports 2013 Report Application Server in CRS (it will be named differently if you're not on CRS 2013, but will have "Report Application Server" in the name.)

  • How do you Make an Interactive Drop Down Menu in Adobe Acrobat Pro That Uses Hyperlinks?

    Hi first off let me point out and apologise in advance for my ignorance and possibly my misuse of the correct terms, I'm new to this.
    Anyway here goes, my best attempt to try and explain myself. Using Adobe Acrobat Pro I am trying to create a drop down menu that lists a set of documents. Once you click an item in the drop down menu it then opens up the corresponding document. So far example the Menu reads "Documents" and below it there is three options "Dogs" "Cats" "Hotdogs" when you click on "Hotdogs" you open up the document for hotdogs etc.
    I have actually done it once before using Javascript and a combo box and I think basically you buried the links to documents in a series of bookmarks, the Javascript code then was basically a shortcut to activate those bookmarks.
    So in short, could someone please tell me the code I would need to make this happen? I have looked extensively for the right forum post to see if my question has already been covered but I couldn't find anything and I possibly could have been using the wrong search terms.
    Please ask me to clarify anything to help you understand what it is I'm asking.
    Thank you in advance for all your help.
    Elliot.

    Hey I think I found a solution to my own problem I made an "OK Button" right click>properties>actions>select action>run a javascript>add - and executed this code:
    function searchBookmarks(bkm, nLevel, bkmName)
      if ( bkm.name == bkmName ) return bkm;
      if (bkm.children != null) {
      for (var i = 0; i < bkm.children.length; i++)
      var bkMark = searchBookmarks(
      bkm.children[i], nLevel + 1, bkmName);
      if ( bkMark != null ) break;
      return bkMark;
      return null;
    function bookmarksAsPopUp(bookmarks)
       if(bookmarks && bookmarks.children)
         for(var i=0;i<bookmarks.children.length;i++)
      bookmarkName = bookmarks.children[i].name.replace(/\s{2,}/g,' ');
      while (bookmarkName.indexOf(String.fromCharCode(11)) > 0)
      bookmarkName = bookmarkName.substring(0,bookmarkName.indexOf(String.fromCharCode(11))) +" "+ bookmarkName.substring(bookmarkName.indexOf(String.fromCharCode(11))+1)
      popUp = popUp+"{cName: '"+bookmarkName+"', cReturn: '"+bookmarkName+"'" ;
      if(bookmarks.children[i].children)
              popUp = popUp + ", oSubMenu: [";
       bookmarksAsPopUp(bookmarks.children[i]);
       popUp = popUp + "]";
      popUp = popUp+"}";
      if (i != bookmarks.children.length-1)
      popUp = popUp+", "
       return popUp;
    var popUp = "";
    bookmarksAsPopUp(this.bookmarkRoot);
    var cChoice = eval("app.popUpMenuEx(" + popUp + ")" ) ;
    bkm = searchBookmarks(this.bookmarkRoot, 0, cChoice );
    if ( bkm != null ) bkm.execute();
    Then you can just add your own bookmarks and they populate the pop-up menu automatically (including the hierarchy sub menu structure, you nest bookmarks within a main book mark.) which is a more efficient way than the one I used before.
    I take no credit for this by the way my source is here PDF Bookmarks as a PopUp Menu | The Practical:PDF Blog
    I hope this helps anybody looking to do the same.

  • How to increase the width of the drop down list box in SSRS multi value parameter

    Hi,
    I am using SSRS 2012. I have a parameter, which accepts multi value.
    The width of the drop down list box is very small, and the user need to scroll to the right to view the complete view of the content in the list box. But, if I don't use multi value then the length is good.  Kindly suggest how to I increase the width
    of the list box when it set to multi value parameter.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mahalengam Arumugam

    Hi Mahalengam,
    After testing the issue in my local environment, I can reproduce it. When the values for a single parameter are too long, the drop-down list of the parameter will automatically enlarge to an appropriate size. While the values for a multiple parameter are
    too long, we need to scroll to the right to view the complete view of the content in the list box in SSRS 2008. But in SSRS 2008R2 and SSRS 2012, we can directly drag the black control at the bottom of the list box to control the size.
    The following screenshot is for your reference:
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

    Hi Katherine,
    Thanks for your reply. I understood we need to drag the list box to a maximum size to view the contents.
    But, this seems an additional task, i know this is a limitation in the current version of SSRS and hope it will be resolved in the next versions.
    Thanks for your efforts,

  • Is this a bug for drop down box in DS1.3?

    I found that if there were many items (e.g. 50), when I clicked the arrow of the drop down box, it showed the items and then disappeared all the items except "ALL". I have to use "F4" key to display all the items and use scroll bar to show the items.
    It is OK when there are few items and no scroll appears in the list.
    Did anybody meet with the same problem?
    Thank you.

    Roam,
    Thanks again for your suggestion,
    "Furthermore one should always Repair Permissions both before doing a Software Update and again afterwards."
    I honestly dont know anything about this "Repair Permissions" from the name, i though it is a verification of authentication to repair OS or some kind of credential issue, and since i m admin user then there is no point to verify it, i should be allowed to do so. Again it is my first time to do this thing in 3 - 4 years of using panther, every time i update software i never ever do this! If this step is essential for every update and installation why dont apple put them as one of TODO step during the processes (as licensing agreement) instead of keep them as an option (just my thought) Anyway, I m glad u tell me about it, and i will give it a shot tonight.
    "That may because you didn't have sufficient disk space. In fact running out of disk space can create all sorts of problems. Please tell me how disk space is available on your
    start up drive."
    That what I thought coz i have only 5.x GB left in 60 GB HD. Thats why I claimed as whining and have to scarify the lost of data by reinstall panther in order to get my mac back to work
    "So are you saying it is a bug or it is a hacker, I don't believe it is either"
    Please see second update info about password, and i m not impose anyone to believe, thats why the topic is a questioning sentence "Is this a bug.."
    "This Discussion site is not Applecare. The people here give their time voluntarily to those who are receptive to help."
    Thats why i ask for "mac expert" not "apple authority/technician" and always appreciate any suggestion.
    Anyway, that great to hear from you and i have learned new thing from your suggestion. I will let u know when i have tried it.

  • Creating a new drop down menu when an option in an existing one is chosen

    I’m using Coldfusion 9,0,0,251028 on Windows 7 64-bit, with a Microsoft Access 97 database.
    I’m having a problem with using a drop-down menu to create another one below it once a certain option is selected
    (in this case, the option named “Breaking News”, which has an id of 31).
    What event trigger should I use to create a drop-down menu underneath the first one when “Breaking News” is selected?
    Should I be using Javascript for something like this, or can Coldfusion handle it?
    Here’s the code:
    <cfquery name="get_info" datasource="#db#">
    select * from lists
    order by department asc, list asc
    </cfquery>
    <div align="left">
              <select name="list">
                     <option value="-1" selected> --------------------------------------
                     <cfoutput query="get_info" group="department">
                            <cfoutput group="list">
                 <cfif list neq "Breaking News Cell Phone">
                         <option value="#id#">#list#
                 </cfif>
                            </cfoutput>
                  <option value="-1"> --------------------------------------
                     </cfoutput>
              </select>
    </div>

    Depending on the details, I might use ColdFusion to create the content of the second drop down.
    The second drop-down is supposed to be an expiration date that gets attached to the message so it can be self-removing.
    The first drop-down is to specify a category for a message to be sent out on.
    In this case, the only one that needs the secondary expiration drop-down is a single category (Breaking News),
    so all other options on the drop-down would have to not trigger the expiration date drop-down showing.
    In that situation, would you use ColdFusion to create the second drop down?
