Siri duplicate entries in calendar reminders

I had some trouble with duplicate calendar entries in Calendar with iCloud and Siri, showing duplicate entries in my iPhone, but not on my macbook pro. I've now set the iphone to show just iCloud entries, which seems to have fixed duplicate entries in Calendar, but when I ask Siri what I'm doing today or if I slide down the quick view, it shows some of my entries twice - how do I delete duplicate entries there if Calendar is only showing the iCloud calendars?
Before I changed the settings, iCloud tried to sync 7 calendars -
Yahoo (I forgot I even had this one)
home .mac
work .mac
home itunes account
work itunes account
icloud home
icloud work
iCloud Calendar (not sure why it has this one too)
In Calendar it now just shows -
iCloud home
iCloud work
I unticked iCloud Calendar but it still shows duplicates when I ask Siri 'what am I doing on XX'. I can't find a setting to change it.

HI - hope you can help.  I have just eceived my 4S and I too see that Siri finds duplicate calendar entries for every meeting.  This does not show in the nomral calendar - only when Siri searches.  Before I do as you did - turn of calendar syncing - did you find that your calandars (I have 17) still kept up to date with iCloud?  Thanks for your help.  SM

  • Duplicate entries in calendar

I have an entry in my calendar on iPhone for Sunday 13 April marked as Easter Monday. Of course Easter Monday is not until mon 21 Aoril.
I don't have any way of deleting the entry.
There are also five duplicate entries on my iPad, same as above.
    They display calendar Holiday[[email protected]]
Can anyone please advise how I can correct the entries.

Yeah thats a bad deal there.  Unfortunately the only way to remove these dupes is manually before you do anymore hotsyncing.  I suggest doing that through Outlook since its much faster.  After completion, set your Outlook Calendar conduit to Desktop Overwrites Handheld and hotsync your device.  That should put an end to the replication.  You could still try Slapstick app which removes dupes from Outlook and then sync with Desktop Overwrites Handheld for the Calendar conduit.

  • Duplicate entries in calendar and contacts

I have many duplicate entries in my calendar and my contacts.  Deleting each one on my Z10 is very time consuming.  Is there a way to do this more efficiently, such as viewing the calendar and the contacts as a file on my computer, where editing would be much easier?

Ok you can try one thing first, less invasive to see if it clears one set of contacts.
    Open your contacts
Swipe down from the top edge > Settings.
Scroll down and turn off each of the various contact accounts.
tap BACK at lower left and now view your contacts.
All that should be left are the "local" contacts. Do you see any, and are they the contacts duplicated?
If so, then close all that and return to your main homescreen.
To clear the local calendar or contact database on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone, complete the following steps:
Swipe down from the top bezel on the home screen, and select Settings.
    Select Accounts.
Tap the action menu button (3 vertical dots) on the bottom-right.
Select Clear Local Contacts or Clear Local Calendar.
Now, view your contacts app again. Make sure the ALL TAB is displayed at lower left.
Scroll through and check for duplicates.

  • 8300 Curve duplicate entries in Calendar

    Hi
    BES
    8300 Curve
Currently I have a user that has duplicate entries in her calendar. When I'm in  the Calendar and select Options then choose select Calendars I have four options
    Show All
    Calendars
    Desktop
    Desktop
I have desktop twice and that is why I think she is seeing  two entries in her calendar. How do I go about removing the second Desktop. I'm new to BB so could you provide me with instruction. I saw an option to wipe the BB but will this affect all her phone  numbers that are stored on the phone. What exactly will it wipe out on the BB?

I got duplicate entries after updating device software. I sync with outlook and outlook does not have the duplicates. I have the same question as you,,how to wipe out the dups without screwing up my original entries or entries in outlook.

  • Blackberry Travel 3.1.1.2 - Duplicate entries in Calendar after system restore

I love the Blackberry Travel app, it is an absolute must for me and I auto sync it to my calendar as a default setting. I have the Z10, and Blackberry Travel 3.1.1.2 software.
Every time I install a new OS, and resync my calendar from Outlook using  Link, after I reinstall and log back into Blackberry Travel, it will create duplicates of my upcoming trip entries in my calendar.
These are entries that were created by Blackberry Travel previously and were synced with Outlook prior to the system wipe and then restored using an Outlook sync.
It would be great if Outlook would check for calendar conflicts for preexisting entries that are exactly the same before adding a new trip to the calendar.
I also noted that if I have a trip (with a name October Travel) with a departure date of October 6 (for example) and arrival date of October 13, although the return flight is correctly placed in the calendar on the 13th, the entire trip is marked from October 6-12 (missing the last day in the calendar).
Please check on these issues, otherwise super app!

Yea, I've noticed the same on the duplicate entry issue, and just delete the duplicate.

  • Incorrect Dates and Duplicate Entries in Calendar

    Hello,
I have had some duplication and incorrect date problems with calendar entries on my iPhone, but not iCal on the Mac that I synch it with. Maybe someone has a clue which troubleshooting path I can follow.
    Duplicate entries:
I originally had "all calendars" synching and only a few of these calendars were duplicationg all of their entires. Upon further inspection in the iTunes synch menus, I found that I had a duplicate of each calendar; one with [email protected] and [email protected] I marked only the [email protected] calendars and that has taken care of the duplicates that I can see so far.
    Incorrect dates:
I have a few repeating entries in one calendar that was duplicating above, but they are listed with incorrect dates on the iPhone only. These entries are marked all day events, but the pattern is for all the entries to be one day early vs. what is indicated on iCal. Forcing a reload of iCal data from my Mac doesn't change anything.
There are a few things that I could do in my troubleshooting, but are labor intensive. I just thought that I would see if my issue ring a bell with anyone and/or there is a bug that has already been identified.

  • HT1766 duplicate entries in calendars - synch error

  • Duplicate Entries

    Greetings,
I'm seeing duplicate entries on calendar items.
My wife entered some events on her calendar (on her Mac mini) this morning and they are showing up twice (exact same event @ same day/time) on my iMac when I view her subscribed calendar.
The odd part is when I check this same calendar on my iPhone 4 and my iPad, they show up correctly as single events.
Any ideas on why this would occur?
    Thanks!
    Jim

I have the same problem although it keeps getting worse as the kids rerip the same cd and some of the songs are duplicated several times. I keep waiting for Apple to come up with a fix as none of the other media players out there keep duplicates of the same file, most over write each other.
Its a real mess, wish apple worked on Itunes problems although they seem too focused on selling and don't seem to care about functionality. I love apple but am getting frustrated with the lack of support for itunes. They keep adding features and not fixing bugs. As a pc user itunes was quite confusing to figure out, apple users are definately using the other side of their brains but then dragging a floppy into a trash can to get it to eject never made sense with me either. BTW I have 3 macs and 6 pcs in my house.

  • Missing and duplicate entries in the calendar

I'm a long time (1997) Palm user who's moved to a BB 8330 last month. I can't seem to get calendar syncing to work correctly. In some instances, I am missing items on Outlook. I often have duplicate entries on the handheld. I've searched the forums and there seem to be similar issues and the solutions appear to be around Service Books, but I'm not confident I have a clue how not to lose lots of info.I also cannot seem to find information that explains the relationship between email addresses & calendar (I don't see why there should be any!!!)
Scenario (trying to answer up front the questions from other forum posts):
I am using Outlook on my home computer to manage my personal calendar. I do not have an email account associated with Outlook.I have set up 2-way sync with Outlook for calendar, tasks & contacts
My work uses Lotus Notes. I have set up one sync to the handheld only from the Lotus Notes calendar
The only email account configured on the BB is a gmail account (which is not associated with either calendar). I originally set this up via the wizard, then removed it, but added it back (under Email settings) when I discovered I couldn't send email from the Address book without it. I actually prefer google mobile for email management since it modifies the server state as well. Not sure if the add/remove/add sequence has somehow messed up the calendar?
I have checked under Calendar > Options and two calendars appear. Based on the color associations it appears that Device Default is associated with Outlook personal calendar & my gmail account is associated with the Lotus Notes calendar entries. As far as I know I did not create these associations.
Checking under Options > Advanced Options > Default Services, I see CICAL & CMIME entry and those are both the gmail account.
Checking under Options > Advanced Options > Service Book, I see only one CICAL & CMIME entry and those are both the gmail account.
Separately, I do have a couple of mobile apps to read email (gmail- same acct - and yahoo), but those appear to not integrate into the BB apps directly.
Everytime I sync with Outlook, I end up with lots of duplicate entries on the handheld. I have also noticed that I am missing entries that are on the handheld, but are not on Outlook (in one very odd case, the entry was created on Outlook and now only exists on the handheld). I may have deleted duplicate entries related to the missing items at one time... I can't be sure about that. I believe I currently have a complete calendar on the handheld, but not 100% confident I have a good calendar anywhere.
And as an aside, have to say I'm really bummed that I have lost easy access all my Palm historical data. It appears BB will not bring in old calendar data by design (found that in some BB documentation on their site).  Now that I will not keep up with Palm upgrades, at some point I will lose access to that data. Sigh.
    Any, all help appreciated.

Ok. In that case, try this. (That worked for me when I had similar problem. Ignore if you already tried this)
    1) Turn off the phone
    2) Remove the battary and place it again
    3) Restart your phone
Have the BB ON (e.g., something showing on the display, the HomeScreen would be fine) when you remove the battery. That is the cleanest hard reboot method.

  • ICloud Address Book and Calendar not syncing. Missing and duplicate entries. Help.

I have duplicate entries in Address Book. I have missing entries on other devices. For calendar it just doesn't sync.
What I've done to try to fix it:
    1) I signed out of all my devices from iCloud and MobileMe.
    2) I then deleted all the the cache files in Library and any iCloud folders I could
    3) I deleted all the address book and calendar entries on each device.
    4) Went back and deleted anything in Library and caches.
    5) I looked at iClould.com and confirmed they had entries in Address Book and Calendar.
    6) Signed back into iCloud on each device.
    7) All the devices then began to populate.
    Trouble began:
    1) Some Address Book entries are missing on devices.
    2) iClould has multiple entries for the very missing contacts! All cutting off the notes field at different places!
    3) It won't sync the missing contacts present on iCloud but not the device.
    Help.

Solved it myself. What I did:
    1) I have four Lion OS and two iOS devices.
    2) I kept one computer with the complete address book I wanted to start with but disconnecting it from iCloud's Contact sync via Apple Menu > System Preferences > iCloud uncheck Contact Sync
    3) Logged into iCloud.com and deleted all the contacts and groups manually ( many keyboard shortcuts worked )
    4) On the main computer, using textedit, I replaced semicolons I was using to delimit items in the notes field with backslashes.
    5) Once I confirmed all the other computers and devices had no entries in Address Book, on the main computer I turned back on iCloud Contact syncing. It worked. Correct count of entries and no more breaking notes at the semicolons!
    6) Immediately all the other iCloud computers and devices updated to the correct notes! Finally.

  • Duplicate Outlook 2007 calendar entries

After installing the iCloud Control Panel on my PC and setting up iCloud to sync my Outlook Calendar and Contacts, I now have duplicate entries for every calendar event and appointment in Outlook on the PC.  No duplicate Contacts.  iPad calendar is fine.  Also, I now only have an iCloud Calendar and iCloud Contacts on the PC.  The originals are empty.  Not sure if that matters.
Anyway... how do I get rid of all the duplicate Calendar entries?
Should I uncheck the Sync options for Calendar and Contacts in iTunes now?

Ok... I got this mess all figured out.
iCloud set up my Outlook Contacts properly by deselecting the sync option in iTunes automatically.  Hence, no duplicates.  However, it did not do this for Calendar... hence all the duplicates.
I have since deselected the iTunes sync for my Outlook Calendar but I am stuck with all the duplicates that I will have to remove manually, I guess.
Also, I discovered that I was still looking at my original calendar on my iPad 2 instead of the iCloud version.  I had the iCloud option selected in the iPad 2 Settings screen for the calendar but did not have the iCloud Calendar selected in the Calendar view itself.  There is a new Calendars button (top-left) on the iPad 2 calendar from which you can select the calendar to view.  When I selected the iCloud Calendar, everything works as advertised regarding the automatic sync to and from the iPad 2.
Here is what I found in iTunes before deselecting it and hitting Apply.  Notice the message at the very bottom stating that duplicates will be created if this sync is left as is.

  • HT5373 duplicate entries in iCloud calendar

I see multiple entries of the same event on my iCloud calendar. All my devices ( Macbook and iPhone) shows this. I tried deleting some of the calendars but no use. How do I delete those duplicate entries?
    Thanks

I have had similar duplication problems. All sorted by de-synching. BUT! My wife's birthday now appears on two different dates, following earlier experiments. I delete her card in Address Book, and both related iCal birthday entries disappear. When I add a new Address record for her, whatever I put under Birthday, the old error date shows in iCal.
Running 10.5.2 and iCal 3.0.2, I have to admit I cannot find the Calendars folder in ∼Library/Application Support. Possibly this would cure the problem.

  • ICal, Google Calendar, syncing problems and duplicate entries

    Hi everyone:
I could use some help. Oy.
At work, we use Google calendar, and that hosts my appointments. I find the Google web-interface impossible, and would like to use iCal to access the data on the Google servers. I have no problem doing that with iOS--my iPhone and iPad manage to sync up fine, and syncing works in both directions; i can add and delete either on Google or on the iOS devices and everything is fine.
But on my desktop machine, I have problems of two sorts. First, once I follow the steps to add a calendar, the syncing seems broken; I can add and delete from the Google web interface, but nothing deleted from the desktop gets passed to Google. Second, I have many duplicate entries that show up on my desktop and some very old appointments that no longer should be on the calendar show up out of no where.
What I'd love to do is a full reboot, eliminating all calendar data everywhere (except on the Google servers, of course, where the work stuff is stored) and start from scratch. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance--
    Roger

My issue is that when I follow directions and go to iCal/prefs/accounts, and click the "add" button.... I don't get (anything). No pop-up windows in which to enter my google account information.
Have you tried rebooted your Mac? (Not needed often, so we Mac users often forget to try this. ) Are you logged on with an admin account or a standard account? (Or one with Parental Controls enabled.)
Sometimes I'll find the dialog window "behind" my other windows. Try not to click or move your mouse after you click the plus button. Or try moving windows around or minimizing them so that any windows that are hidden behind other windows are then shown. (In fact try closing all apps and Finder windows to reduce the possibility of this issue in the first place.)
(BTW, your question really is separate from the original question, since the OP already has their Google account added to iCal and you are having trouble adding the account. In the future you'll want to start your own thread so that you can also mark posts answered or helpful.)
