Siri says phone number not available for contact

When I try to have Siri call my wife I am prompted that there is no phone number available for her. How do I fix this problem?

I believe I have found a way to fix the problem with Siri not finding a phone number for "Wife", "Mother", "Son", etc. I went into MY contact information and deleted all related names and then saved my contact card with all the deletions made. Then, I asked Sire to call, say, "Wife", which there is no way for Sire to know who my wife is without the information being on MY contact. So, Sire ask, "Who is your wife?", you tell Sire and then Siri asks if you would like that to be noted and you reply "Yes!".
After you make this first correction you ask Siri to call say, "Wife" again and Siri says, "Calling......" (wife's name). I have not had any problems with Siri not being able to call a contact that was not related to me, so if this is a problem that some of you may be having I'm not sure how to fix that just yet. I know of no way to fix a problem that has not occurred yet on my phone!

Welcome to the Nokia forum.
Reinstall your current software with Nokia Suite to clear up any bugs that prevent you from accessing your default search bar. Connect your phone to Nokia Suite, click on the green arrow and click on 'reinstall current software'. Hopefully this will fix it and saves you from having to reset the device.
If the above doesn't work though, delete the app by going to Menu > Applications > Press and hold the apphlication and press Delete. Then hard reset your phone, but make sure you make a back up first. Connect the phone to Nokia Suite, click on Tools > Back up and make sure you don't tick the Settings box as this will back up the bug.
Once you've made the back up, enter *#7370# into your phone with default security code 12345, unless you have changed this code yourself. Once rebooted, reinstall the current software as explained above to make sure your phone really is cleaned from any bugs and restore the back up by going to Tools > Restore.
In case the default search bar still doesn't work after doing this, please visit a local Care centre where they can check it out and fix this for you. You can find your nearest Care centre by visiting your local Nokia web page and clicking on the Support tab.

HT2499 why does my dvd player all of sudden say "supported disc not available" for dvds i have played in the past

My dvd player has been displaying "support disc not available" for all dvd's that i put in that just weeks ago were playing fine. ive tried cleaning the player and that did nothing...dont know what to do

I'm having the same problem lately. I have a mid 2010 21.5" iMac with an internal SuperDrive running Yosemite. I tried putting in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and "The Giver" rented from RedBox. Both spin sputter for a bit and then eject the disk back out. So, it never mounts and no software (Finder, Disk Utility, DVD Player) ever gets a chance to see it. Both play fine in a 15 year old DVD player, and my purchased copy of "The Dark Knight" mounts just fine in the iMac. So, I have to assume that something is being done to the DVD's that rental companies are given to prevent them from mounting or something.
Not having any luck on Google trying to confirm that.
I guess I need to amend this. Both DVD's play fine in a early 2011 13" Macbook Pro with the internal SuperDrive. It's running Mavericks still and has a "MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-8A8". The iMac has a "OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5680H". Not sure if it's the drive, the OS, or what (although I will say I'm fairly certain I was having this problem on the iMac before Yosemite, so it's probably not the OS).

IPad phone number not displaying for FaceTime

How do I get my iPad phone number to appear as the contact number for FaceTime and messaging? I have gone into settings for these apps but the iPad phone number is not an option.

Changed iCloud phone number; not updated for keychain response after 3 days.

Hi,
I was correcting a keychain error that can occur (it seems) that asks for about 10-15 local keychain password checks upon booting.
That issue is logged in the forum and easy to correct.
What subsequently was required was resetting my keychains on my devices that required the security code challenge.
Since neither of my pad or macbook are authorised to counter-authorise, I need to go via my registered phone number.
All pretty basic stuff.
So, when I realise that the security code message is being sent to my OLD cell-number I change it on my iCloud and expect it to change in my account and the entire system within 15-30 minutes, which would be quite normal and go from there.
I was wrong.
Since changing my phone number, which is still maintained on my iCloud account, I still get the system request stating the message is being sent to my old number.
Yes, I have logged out of all my iCloud activities and rebooted and logged-in again to see if that has anything to do with it. To avail.
Now it has been 3 days and the old number still appears in the security code request process on all devices on all panes that can be used..
Any ideas???

why am i not getting my phone number verified for imessages?

I checked that, it already displayed the correct phone number but I re-entered it just in case, still have the same issue. No, I am using a different sim card, I was used it with ATT sim in the past but got it unlocked today and put my wifes WalMart Family Mobile (T-mobile) sim in it. Everything works fine except this imessage problem, perhaps T-mobile doesn't support it? Another thing I noticed is that since we are sharing the same apple account, anytime SHE sends an iMessage to anyone I can see it on my 4s. Kinda weird right?

How do I install Firefox on a Galaxy S, if the market says that is not available for me?

I am trying to download Firefox 5 for my brand new Samsung Galaxy S I9000, when I press install from the Android Market webpage it tells me This app is not compatible with your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and then a text appears This app cannot be installed in the country of your device. The two main things that you need for mobile Firefox to work is Android 2.0 and newer (which you have) and the cpu on phone/tablet has to be a ARM v7 type of cpu as the old ARM v6 will not work.

IBooks 1.3 on iPod Touch 2G (4.2.1) dictionary not available for this language

I have an iPod Touch 2G, running 4.2.1. I also have iBooks 1.3. Everything is running well, but unfortunately I do not have the built in dictionary for ebooks that I have bought on the iBooks store. I have 14 books from their store, but I am not able to look up definitions of words with the iPod Touch. I also have an iPad 2, but the dictionary works on it (with the same books). Could someone help me with this situation? Or, could someone point me in the right direction. I cannot contact Apple, since my iPod Touch is no longer in warranty. Thank you.

I have the same problem with the same iPod Touch 2G. It keeps saying "Dictionary is not available for this language". Before the update, it was working fine...

Receive iMessage at Phone Number, not just e-Mail?

When I send iMessages, it just appears from my e-mail address, not from my phone number. When, I go to settings > messages, I can only "Receive At" xxxx @ email .com as well, there is no option to add a phone number.
How can I make myself available to be "reached for messages" at my phone number instead of (or, in addition to) my e-mail? I also have an iPad.

Try turning iMessage off, wait a few minutes, the turn back on. Then see if your phone number is available for your Caller ID setting.

I just learned from your support rep, that Verizon Safeguards service does not work with the iPhone!. Under my Services under Verizon Safeguards, I get the following message: "Not available for this cell phone number". You gotta be kidding me Verizon...really.
I want to be able to use Verizon Safeguards and block calls a txt from specified numbers, like I have with every other phone I've had with Verizion!
PLEASE, ADD SUPPORT FOR THE iPHONE.

This is apparently a known issue, there are a few other threads on here. But I had a chat on here with a Verizon rep who said that they personally had numbers blocked on their iPhone4 and that it had to be done through Customer Care, which if you log on to MyVerizon, the number is under Support --> Contact Us. Who knows if it actually works.

I just bought new MacMini. Now upgrade for Pages says not available for this Apple ID, etc. Why? I did not buy the Mini from Apple store, but so what?

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.

There are a number of similar posts coming on here, did you change your Apple ID, are you the original purchaser of the app, did you recently do an update of the iOS? I just updated two apps on my iPhone which has iOS 7.1.1 without any problems at all, so a little more detail would be helpful.

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept it and the other iLife/iWork applications into your Apple ID, do so.
2. Move them out of the Applications folder(they may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If you're asked to buy them, see #3.
3. Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
