Siri won't work in data mode

siri does not respond in data mode. I have tried resetting, restarting, turning siri on/off, data mode on/off. Siri is not available in data mode. My carrier is AT&T.

What do you mean "data mode?" Do you mean you are on AT&T's network as opposed to Wi-Fi? Does it work on Wi-Fi?

WRT54G v4 won't work in PPPoE mode...
For the past few years, I've had my WRT54G v4 set up to run in PPPoE mode. My Siemens Speedstream 5200 is set to run in Bridge Mode. It's worked fine for a long time. If I ever ran into a problem, I could always simply reset both, re-do all the settings, and it'd be fine.
Today I come home from work, it's not working at all. I reset the settings, redo everything, still not working. I do this a few times. It repeatedly just won't connect to anything. The DSL modem activity lights are flashing, everything is normal, the Status page in my Linksys setup all reads fine (it's connecting through the modem like it should, acquiring an IP address, etc). So, I decide I'm gonna reset the modem and try bypassing the Linksys.
That turns out to work just fine.
So I reset the Linksys, hook my PC back up to the Linksys, and everything is fine. But here's the rub...
If I try to bridge the modem and put the Linksys in PPPoE mode, it simply stops working. If I put it back into DHCP mode and reset the DSL modem, it still won't work. Once it enters PPPoE mode, the Linksys simply stops working as it should. Nothing besides a reset will make it start working.
Any suggestions/explanations as to what would cause this? I'm completely baffled, personally. I'm running the DSL modem in it's normal state and the Linksys in DHCP but I really prefer it the other way. I just can't figure out why it isn't working.
So, to sum up:
1. Connection is fine when going straight through the DSL modem.
2. Connection is fine when routed through the Linksys into the DSL modem with the Linksys in DHCP mode.
3. Once DSL modem is set to Bridge Mode and Linksys to PPPoE, I lose internet connectivity. No DNS, nothing.
4. Even if I change the settings back to DHCP, it still will not work. I must manually reset the router's settings using the reset button, doing the same with the DSL modem.
Any suggestions? I've tried everything I can possibly think of.

You need to Upgrade the Router's firmware in order to get the connection work again with PPPoE...
Download 2.95 MB...Once the Firmware has been downloaded you need to unzip the firmware file, it will unzip 3 files, you need the .bin file...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Remote Desktop Shortcuts won't work in FULLSCREEN mode

shortcuts won’t work during remote desktop connection between Win7 64 host (home premium) to Win 7 64 guest (professional):
Include:
ALP+PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN
CTRL + ALT + ±
In order to make them work I need to exit full screen mode of remote desktop first (can be done with CTRL+ALT+BREAK)
Is there any fix?

Have you check the "Local Resources" under Remote Desktop Connection "properties",? just as screen shot below:
You can also test this issue with On-screen keyboard, check if issue persists.

My 4s has a blank homescreen, that is, no icons, and Siri won't work. How can I fix it?

I have a 4s and recently updated to the newest ios. Also, today I changed my homescreen photo and lock photo, and gave a game access to my photos. Tongith when I was playing a game, my phone became very sluggish and knocked me out of the game. It wouldn't let me back in, so I powered off the phone. When I turned it back on, the homescreen had no icons. It only showed my background photo, AT&T signal, Wifi signal, time and battery power. It lets me pull up the notification list and control center, but that is all. Siri doesn't work, either. I can answer calls but when I hang up, it doesn't dim the end button or go back to the homescreen, it just gets stuck with the caller's identity and the end button. I have turned it off and on several times, plugged it in even though it has over 50% of battery remaining, I have reset it by tapping the power button 5 times, and I have reset it by holding the power button with the home button. It hasn't fixed the problem. What else can I do? And, what could have caused this? I was just playing a game.

I can temporarily restore this function by going to
Settings
General
Siri, and turning Siri off then on again.
But after some hours, or by the next day it happens again. Hope this helps.

External Display won't work in clamshell mode

Hi - I can't get my external display to work with the MacBook in clamshell mode - It works fine with the lid open.
I'm using it with the apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I've obviously changed a setting without realising - can anyone help.

IE10 won't work in desktop mode

So I'm using an HP laptop. OS is Windows 8. I use Internet Explorer 10, and the IE app on the Windows 8 home screen works. But when using desktop mode, IE doesn't work. When I click on the IE tab, a window comes up but it never loads. I tried a couple
of things like restarting my computer, clicking out and back into IE, disabling add-ons, using the troubleshooter to detect problems in IE performance (no issues detected), and nothing worked. So I've been using the Windows 8 app version of
IE, but I prefer to just use it through desktop mode. Does anyone have any idea of what is wrong and how to resolve the issue?

What did you see then? It should have opened a res://ieframe.dll/NavCancl.htm page.
You could run ProcMon to see what is going on. It would be best to have two traces of this scenario, one working and whatever it is that you are getting. Typically your case is found to be something else that you have forgotten about that would
be interfering. Broken Family Safety is one example but I also saw it caused by the Java updater, so it could be just about anything. Using the suggested diagnostic should keep your traces as compact as possible.
You could also try simulating the same scenario in a safe mode boot. Unfortunately we cannot use ProcMon in that environment but you could at least use SysInternalSuite's AutoRuns to compare what is being loaded in each case.

SIRI won't work without iPhone reset.

I have a 5S(7.1.1). After using SIRI, or any voice-text task, I have to reset the entire phone to get the voice-text function to work again. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

This may sound like a dumb question but have you checked to make sure Siri is turned on and not restricted?

and
Settings>General>Restrictions>Siri & Dictation.

A700: PS3 Won't Work in HDMI Mode

When I connect my PS3 to my A700 using an HDMI cable, there is no picture or sound. I know the PS3 works, because it works fine when I hook it up to the A700 using AV cables, and I know the HDMI cable works, because I can use it to connect my laptop to the A700. I have changed the settings on my PS3 to HDMI, so I know that's not the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have had the same issue for the past few days, I think the problem lies with the hdmi input on the a700. I've used several different cables and I've finally managed to get a connection to my ps3 by simply moving the cable around slightly at the back of the a700, taking it out and firmly holding it in until an image appears.
The port seems to be very temperamental, if I move it in any way when using the ps3 then the screen goes black and everything's lost again. This may only be my a700 but my problem was exactly the same as yours, it may be an issue with all a700s.

Wi-fi won't work in Flight mode

Hi everyone - was wondering if anyone here could help me. I'm planning on taking my iphone overseas without roaming and just using wifi for skype and messaging (ping, whatsapp etc.). However, when I put my phone in flight mode, even though it's connected to wifi, as evidenced by the symbol at the top of the screen, it fails to connect to any web page or receive my email and 'whatsapp' even goes on to say that I don;t have a valid internet connection.
I'm not sure what it could be...help would be much appreciated!

Just put in a SIM card you can buy in the destination country and put it in iPhone. Calls are then cheap.

Gps won't work without data connection

does the gps feature need wifi or 3g to work cos i can't get it work without them.
and when i try to navigate to a destination it just says on "waiting for gps" even if i have wifi.

i have following problem: The Quicktime-plugin does not show any Quicktime movies when i start Safari in 64Bit. It only does when i switch to 32Bit.
I'm using Safari 5 - SnowLeopard 10.6.3 - latest Quicktimeplayer - Intel Core 2 Duo/MacBook

I`ve tried restarting, rebooting, nothing works.
The interesting thing is that SIRI can call to previous mobile numbers (without the new digit) obviously not connecting , and, can call to any other numbers as an office or home number. So the problem is the new digit in the mobile number

Ecuador has added an extra digit to mobile phone numbers but apple wont accept 10 digit phone numbers so we cant use facetime or apple IM or verify our new phone numbers. ( and Siri won't work either!) I have contacted apple support online but can't request a call back as the apple system says our new phone numbers are invalid. I am going to phone them tomorrow and you should complain too at http://www.apple.com/support/contact/. . The more people that bring this to their attention the faster it will get fixed

Video won't play in preview mode. Any ideas?

Wondering if anyone can help me with a little issue I'm having with Final Cut Pro.
For some reason, video playback won't work in preview mode (apple+F12). It just pauses, but the audio plays. I've checked that the Video Playback is set to Digital Cinema and that I select All Frames in External playback, but it still remains looking like a still frame - with the audio. However, the footage plays fine in the canvas window.
Any clues on what the issue could be?
Just so you know, I'm using a Lumix GH3 camera, with no firewire. I have to import the .mst files into iMovie, with USB, and export them into .movs to get them to work in Final Cut. If anyone knows of a much simpler way to do this then that would be a great help.
Could that affect the playback?

there's probably your problem. Although fcp will allow you to import h264 quicktimes, it's not a compatible format. Use compressor to convert to prores422. Post back if you need any further help with this.

Do you have any accessibility options enabled?
A long press of the home button should bring up Siri, a quick double click of the home button brings up the app switcher. If you have any of the accessibility options under physical and motor enabled (Settings > General > Accessibility), these may be interfering with the home button responding normally.
And do you have a case or screen protector installed? These can interfere with the home button's operation.

Windows Stuck in Safe Mode - mouse won't work - need my data...

New Mac User, well two months of trying to get it to opperate correctly. Unbelievable! I've re-installed XP SP2 too many times to count, finally had it up and thought it was running fine for the last week, then I went over to the Mac OS tried accessing windows through boot camp, it shut down the Mac OS, then when I tried to go back to boot windows directly, I received the damning <windows root> \system32\hal.dll file is missing or corrupt - again.
I've gone through a bunch of posts, tried a number of the instructions, and now have a worse issue, my computer is now stuck in safe mode with Windows, by instructions, here, I'd disabled everything for start up in Configuration Utility and checked start up in safe mode there too, so now I can't get it out of it, and since my mouse and keyboard won't opperate in safe mode, I get to the log in page to select user but the mouse just won't move and pressing "CTRL ALTDLT" no response.
In the Recovery Counsole when I rean CHKDSK /r this is what it came back with...
"The volume appears to contain or or more unrecoverable problems."
97638572 kilobytes total disk space.
90877508 kilobytes are available.
406 bytes in each allocation unit.
24409643 total allocation units on disk.
22719377 allocation units available on disk.
So what does that mean? Not sure what the " volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems" means when it's not telling me what they could possibly be. Thoughts anyone?
If anyone knows or has some good advice on how to get windows back up and running correctly, and without wiping out my data - as I can't get it backed up, I would be tremendously grateful...
2 months of this is really enough, dying to use my system, and praying that I can...

I followed the instructions above and once I finished, After re-booting, I selected Microsoft Windows XP Professional and the System Configuration Utility came up.
On the “General” tab, it shows that the Start Up Selection is on “Selective Startup” with everything checked, but what’s marked “Using Modified BOOT.INI
Tried to change it to “Normal Startup – load all device drivers and services” then re-start.
Windows came back up, but so did the System Configuration Utility and still showing that it was starting up with “Selective Startup”
Now just need to figure out how to start it up in “Normal”, if in fact that’s possible. Will keep you posted and if anyone has any further suggestions, that would be much appreciated.
I do hope this will help all the others that have run into the main issue, which I have found is caused by the Parallels Desktop by they way, not Microsoft, and that start having issues by getting the dreaded " hal.dll " file is missing or corrupt on a direct Boot to Windows.
Very long and sleepless night….
