Sites created in iWeb '08 will not open in iWeb '09

I upgraded to '09 but the sites that I created when I had '08 will not open. They are listed on the side menu but when you click on them the main window is blank/white. Is anyone having or had this problem and found the solution? Please help.
I have the files saved to a folder and I also think I have the old domain file backed up on another hard drive. That is extra information just incase that can help me.
Thanks!

You should be able to Save as: iWork 08, but i don't know how it works on Mountain Lion. On my Snow Leopard the Save as window has a part looking like this
Or you can send me the document if you are in a hurry and I save it as iwork 08 for you. Click on my blue name and you'll find my address.

  • Mail created w/ mountain Lion will not open in SL10.6.8, or OS X yosemite.

Mail created w/ mountain Lion will not open in SL10.6.8, or OS X yosemite.  How can I convert it to open?

After a second call to AppleCare, they had advised me differently than before.  Once they found out that my personal computer has Mac OS X Lion installed from the App Store, they suggested I simply upgrade my parents computer to Lion.
So, I used my download from the App Store and upgraded.  It went smoothly, but Mail still will not open properly.  And instead of the original error message, it comes up with this:
"Check with your developer to make sure Mail can work with your version of Mac OS X.  You may need to reinstall the application.  Check if there are any updates available for the application."
How can I re-install just Mail?  A startup disk is not accessible for me right now.  Can I download the latest version of Mail and install it from the Apple.com website?

  • Pdf file created in Word 2008 will not open in Acrobat 8.2.6 or any other Adobe program

I have created a 12 page newsletter in Microsoft Word Publisher 2008 and have done so many times before with no problem. Today, I have tried to save it as a .pdf file both in Save As and through the printer. Each .pdf file created in Word will not open in Acrobat 8.2.6, Photoshop C3, Adobe Reader  nor any other Adobe software.
When I go to open it in Acrobat, my Mac gives me the spinning rainbow. If I try to click on the file, I get a watch and then Acrobat crashes or I have to force quit the software. I really need to convert this file and get it to the printer. Any advice???
    Mac OS X 10.6.7
    Word 08 12.2.8
    Acrobat 8.2.6
    Adobe Reader 10.0.0

    Here is a better example.
    https://www.calcerts.com/PBR1.pdf
is the original PDF file that is uploaded by a user.  Note that it is only 48kb in size.
I take the file, add a couple of watermarks and a footer for each page as well as a small image on the last page, add security on it and BAM, the file:
    https://www.calcerts.com/PBR1_AFTER.pdf
is now 1.5 MB and it takes a LONG time to print.
    Thoughts?

  • Files created in trial (indesign) will not open.

The files I created in the trial version of Indesign CC will not open now that I have the monthly subcription to Indesign CC. They are .indd and .idml Files. When trying to open them I get a message that says "no application is able to open these files".

Do they Open if you use File>Open from a running ID application?

  • Files from iWeb '08 will not open in 'Web '11

I have several sites that are generated in iWeb. At work I use a Quad G5 running 10.4.11 and IWeb 2.0.4. At home I'm using a 24" iMac running 10.5 and iWeb 3.0.2. I write and update my sites seamlessly from either computer.
Over the weekend I upgraded my home iMac to iLife '11 and Snow Leopard. I wanted the enhancements of iPhoto and so I reluctantly upgraded to the required 10.6. I now find that iWeb documents that are now created in iWeb 3.0.2 using Snow Leopard will no longer open in iWeb 2.0.4. This is quite a catch 22 for me.
I cannot upgrade my Quad G5 from 10.4 due to my requirement for some legacy software. I cannot install another drive on my Quad G5 with Snow Leopard as it needs an intel processor to run. Any suggestions out there besides the obvious one of going back to Leopard on my home iMac?

Unfortunately our company must continue to use powerPC's on 10.4.11 to run Macromedia Freehand MXa natively. Thus our reliance on Quad G5's. We feel like a cab driver in Havana driving a '53 Buick. We have to keep them running to do our graphics work. We have several machines running Freehand. Most on 10.4.11, but two of them run 10.5. Freehand runs painfully slow on Rosetta.
This afternoon we have moved all of our iWeb files to a Mini running Snow Leopard and iWeb 3.0.2. That will fix our iWeb problems and enable us to stay current as long as Apple still supports iWeb. I would be remiss not to caution anyone reading this post that iWeb domain files upgraded to 3.0.2 cannot be opened in 2.0.3 without the intervention method previously posted.
    Thanks Again

  • IWeb application will not open

Why is it my iWeb only opens my one site page? I go to applications, double click iWeb application and it only opens my current site. I go to file>new site and still opens my current web site

File->New site only creates a new site below your existing site in the left hand pane of iWeb:
To create a new domain file and site you will need to move the existing domain file out of it's current location, your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder, and then launch iWeb. Not finding a domain file there it will create a new one with a new, untitled site, in it.

  • Will not open pages

Pages created in mOuntain lion will not open in 10.6.8 on second computer.

    Milton,
As with many application upgrades, new version's documents can't be opened in old versions of the app. Also as with many application upgrades, there is a downgrade path by way of Exporting to the old format. Pages can downgrade one level, to Pages 4. Pages 3 and earlier formats are not supported via export from Pages 5.

  • Google, Yahoo, and very random websites will not open

Google.com will not open, yahoo will not open and anything google- or yahoo-related will not open (including their search engines, which is killing me) as well as very random websites. Other websites open immediately. This is happening exactly the same on both Firefox and Safari.
Mac OS 10.6.8. The other iMac in the house (OS 10.7.5) is working fine as well as our Macbook, iPad, and three iPhones. I believe the problem started after we changed Verizon modems and wi-fi networks, but I cannot be sure, and I don't understand why the other devices/machines would not also be effected. There is no spyware that I know of  installed on this problem machine. When I do a repair verification on the Utility Disk I get a lot of messages that read in different variations of the following: Warning:SUID file"System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contens/MacOs/Ar dAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

It is the same with the other accounts on the machine, but not with any other Mac device in my house, including another iMac. I'm going to reword the question more clearly below, so that maybe others will have a solution. Thank you very much for your effort, Old Toad.

This is happening exactly the same on both Firefox and Safari, so it does not appear to be a browser-specific issue. The operating system on the iMac is a Mac OS 10.6.8. What I've done so far:
Cleared all history on, and reset, both browsers.
Run a "repair disk permissions" on the Utility Disk and I've received many messages that read in different variations of the following: Warning:SUID file"System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contens/MacOs/Ar dAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Cleared the caches in my hard drive Library and Users Library folders (the Internet is now faster for the sites that do work)

How do I reinstall iWeb 3.0.3?  I inadvertently opened an html file of my website and tried to open it with iWeb '09. I get a message saying “Can’t open file” etc., etc. I’ve tried reinstalling the updated version. Iweb will not open.

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder. Then launch iWeb and see if it opens.
What happened was trying to open the html file reset the file path that iWeb saves in its preference file to tell it where to go when you launch iWeb.  Deleting the pref file and launching iWeb creates a new file and iWeb looks in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder for the Domain.sites2 file it uses to create your site.

  • Web site will not open on a Mac

A friend has helped me to develop a simple web site in Flash
which I use to manage my photo galleries, which are created with
Lightroom or Photoshop. I am familiar with most of Adobe CS3 except
Flash or Dreamweaver, but I can get by with just editing text and
uploading new galleries, so the site works really well for me.
Unfortunately I have received feedback from people using
Safari or Camini browsers and the Mac OS that the site will not
open. They just see black and the message "Get Flash". The site
works great on a PC using both I Explorer and Safari.
I have no knowledge of how to overcome this problem and not
having access to a Mac, no way to "fiidle about" and experiment. I
would very much appreciate some advice from anyone in the know. The
web site is at www.duncangrove.com . Please have a look at my pics
    if you check it out!
    Regards
    Duncan Grove

your site is doing a strict check for a certain version of
the flash plug-in, 9.0.45. It's probably not necessary to go that
far, just checking for version 9.0 should be fine. The Mac is only
up to 9.0.47 and many people are going to have a .28 version, which
    gets refused by your script.

I opened iweb once and started my website, then the program quit unexpectedly and now it will not open anymore. can someone please help me because i really need to use the program.

Were you able to launcn iWeb as part of the second fix, that of creating a new domain file?  Did iWeb open then?  If not boot into  Safe Mode and see if iWeb will launch. If it does reboot normally and try again.
If still a no go log into another user account on your Mac and see if iWeb will launch and open a domain file?  If so than there's something in your account that is the culprit.
If you can't launch iWeb in the other user account then a reinstallation of iWeb seems warranted. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apple the requried updaters.

  • Firefox will not open ANY site. Wont work AT ALL. Nothing seems to be working.

Firefox will not open ANY site. It worked last night, but not today. I uninstalled it many times, didn't worked. It displays the screen that says "unable to connect" yet chrome and explorer both work. I have disconnected and reconnected a few times, restarted my laptop, neither of those worked either. I have also tried turning "safe mode" off after re installing firefox, but again, that did not work. I need help :(.
Although, before this, firefox was not letting me use voice recording sites or any site that let me watch television online. It would load the commercials, but not play the episode. It wouldn't even let me upload pictures to photobucket. However, it worked using chrome or explorer.

Looks like a bunch of people have this problem. Anyone got any ideas to fix this???
