Skype crashes every time I have my USB jump drive in?

Whenever I have my USB jump drive in my computer, skype continues to crash no matter how many times I start it.
When I take it out, skype works just fine. What is the problem? I never had this happening to me before. (I did clean install of Arch recently after messing up xorg on last one)

Hi,
Been having this problem for a long time, need something to be done about it.
For about 2-3 months, wheneveri answer a call or someone answers mine skype crashes. Litteraly every time. Ive managed to find a workaround for it by having my friends call me when my skype isnt running and starting it up after they have called and i can then pick it up. But this is beyond a joke now.
I decided to uninstall and reinstall skype today and it now crashes constantly and without reason.
The software is totaly unusable in its present form.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit mode).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

The new version of skype crashes EVERY TIME I get ...

I was recently forced to upgrade to the latest version of Skype. I like the design. I don't mind the changes; but what I do mind is it being TOTALLY UNSTABLE.
Every time I sign into skype, it crashes. When it finally will let me start using it, whenever I get a new IM in a different window, it crashes.
I can't go back to the previous version either. Listen. If you're going to force me to use a new version, could you at least release a STABLE release?

Firefox crashes every time I have WordPerfect open

I will have 2+ tabs open in Firfox. When I am switching back & forth between Firefox & WordPerfect. I will be working in WordPerfecr and
Firfox will crash. I will have 2 or more documents open in WP
This has happened repeatedly. I happens most of the time when I have both applications open.

Skype uses IE in the background so issues with IE/Flash can cause problems. Download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash for IE.

The issue may also be audio device related. Try disabling your bluetooth and making sure that you don't have some sort of bluetooth manager/plugin running or interacting with Skype. If the problem persists try a Skype reset:

My MacBook crashes every time I connect a USB cord to it, anyone else have this problem?

I went to plug in my phone charger to update my music on my iPhone to my MacBook and it shut off. So i tried about 5 more times and each time the laptop crashed when the USB was plugged into the port. Can anyone explain why this is happening??

It sounds like your MacBook Pro is shutting down unexpectedly when you plug your phone into one of the USB ports. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the following article, named:
USB and FireWire Quick Assist
Check the software
See if a newer version of software is available for your device if it requires software. Visit the product manufacturer's website.
Try a different port and cable
Connect your device to a different USB or FireWire port on your Mac. If you connected your device to a USB or FireWire hub or to a port on another USB or FireWire device that's connected to your Mac (known as daisy chaining), connect your device directly to a port on your computer. Some devices need to draw power from a USB or FireWire port to work; if you connect a device to a non-powered hub (one that isn't plugged in to a power source) or to a low-power port (such as the one on your USB keyboard), it may not work. If you have another known-good cable, try swapping the cable to see if that works. If it does, you should replace the problematic cable.
Check for device conflicts
Disconnect all USB or FireWire devices (including hubs and extension cables) except for your Apple keyboard and mouse. Then, connect the device in question directly to your computer. If your device works now, there may be a conflict between that device and one of your other USB or FireWire devices. If it doesn't work, go to tip 8. If you do have a conflict, you can determine which devices are affected. Connect your other devices to your Mac, one by one, making sure to test that each device works before making another connection. Quit associated applications

If the device is working now, there may be a software conflict between the device and something in your original user account.
Check System Profiler for hardware Issues
Open System Profiler (from the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, then click More Info) and then click either USB or FireWire. If you don't see your device listed in the pane, the issue could be with the device itself or your computer's USB or FireWire port. To rule out the port, plug the device into another USB or FireWire port on your Mac and then check System Profiler again (press Command-R to refresh the window). Also try resetting the FireWire bus. If you see your device listed in the pane but it doesn't work, you may want to contact the device's manufacturer for assistance.

I downloaded the latest FF version for my new laptop with Windows 7 o/s and installed without problems, so why does it crash every time I try to use FF?

My new laptop came with IE installed. I downloaded FF and installed it without any problems. FF has crashed every time I have tried to use it. I have never had this problem before on either laptop or desktop and found that I could use FF most of the time, only switching to IE occasionally when a site worked better with it ... which wasn't often.

Lightroom 5.7.1 crashes every time I select a MOV video file, is there a fix?

This was working in 5.0, after updating to 5.7.1 Lightroom will crash every time I have an MOV file selected. The cover image of the video will render and show, yet LR will crashes and burn.
This is on a Windows 8.1 system with Lightroom 5.7.1 and MOV files produced by a 5D mark II.

This is also occuring with Ligthroom CC (2015) on a Windows 7 system. Before update (with 5.x) no error occured and I was able to view the MOV files of my Olympus E-M10.

Motion Crashes Every Time!!!!

Well, I don't get it. I just tried to use Motion for the first time since getting back from the Amazon. I need it for the next documentary I'm working on. Anyway, it will not open! It crashes every time I have tried.
It blames the OZONE Plugin... whatever that is. I've read around the web many are having this issue, but usually with the newer version of Motion, not the version I use right now. They suggest there is no solution for this. I find it hard to believe Apple has no solution so I'm here looking for answers.
Anyone with suggestions or -- hopefully -- a solid cure for the crashing? I sure hope so. It took me quite awhile to learn how to use it. I sure don't want to think I wasted my time.

All Office applications will also try to open a temporary work file in the same location as the source file. This implies the source file directory also needs to be writable for this temporary file. Since the default HFS+ driver provides only read-only access, such temporary files will fail to open, and will cause the application to fail.
As a test copy the file you want to edit, say an Excel spreadsheet from the OSX file system to the C: drive on the Windows side and try to open it. If you look in this directory, you should see two files, the source and a temporary file. You may have to force the temporary file to be opened on a read-write file system, by manipulating the folder for temporary files.

I have tried to download Photoshop Elements 10 three times now and it has crashed every time. I checked my settings and the format on my computer is Max OS Extended. I read that 3 other people were having the same problem. Did anyone figure out how to fix this or does Photoshop Elements not run on Mac OS X?

Sfasolo it appears you are installing Photoshop Elements as opposed to downloading Photoshop Elements. Do you have iOS 5.1.1 on your original iPad? If not update the iOS.
You might also try quitting the app and then reset the pad.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Still no joy? Delete the Keynote app, reset the iPad and then reinstall Keynote. You will not have to pay for downloading it again.

Also it does not matter what I am trying to update, the operating system, and application, each caused the same crash. This mac book is less than a month old.

That is the highest you will be able to go with 3g. You need 3gs or 4 to go any higher (multi processors and more memory needed). Version 4.2.1 marks the end of your updates for that device.
