SLD connection failing from PORTAL

Hello All,
Our env is EP 6.0 ,ORACLE 9i as DB ,OS as Linux.
In portal under WebDynpro, the SLD test connection is failing and due to which none of the JCO connections are working  .
The user used for the communication is SLDDSUSER , which has the roles of LcrAdministrator .
When I tried to reset the password in VA (SLD Data Supplier) , even then it is getting failed .
After viewing into the logs of latest default trace files , it is showing relating to unathourised issue .
Here are  the logs of it

Checked few things and they are working fine.
I have checked the connectivity of SLD externally (<server-name>:<j2ee-port>/sld) ,and it is working fine.
Checked the user SLDDSUSER , and it is not locked and it has the roles of LcrAdministrator .
Can any one suggest me to fix this issue ..
Best Regards

Hi,
Check your CIM client settings in the visual admin, check whether the connection test work fine or not.
After resetting the password for SLDDSUSER you can try logging using the url http://fqdn:5xx00/useradmin. Then maintain the password and check the connection now.

Vamshi.

  • Scenarios working although SLD connection failing

I have a   R/3 (IDOC) -> XI -> R/3(Abap server proxy), running in production mode,
the scenario is running fine, but if i do a SLDCHECK in the System, it gives following result:
    1. Properties of RFC destination SAPSLDAPI: OK
    2. Testing the RFC connection to the SLD java client...
    RFC ping was successful
    3. Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code     4
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
    4. Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
=> Check SLD function and configurations
the issue is the point 3 and 4, becasue the function module LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS is giving error, the error we found on debuging is the user used in SLDAPICUST, which is continuosly getting locked due to some reasons...
*BUT the real concern is....how are the scenarios as described in the first 2 lines, running,
Is the SLD connection failing, not hampering my scenarios ?*
    pls help

Check out this thread. Something similar would do for a KM Repository as well.

  • SLD Connection failed

    Hi all,
I'm having problems at connecting to the SLD from the Content Administrator. The only button I can use is to check the SLD connection, but this fails. In the SLD I'm also having problem,s with starting and stopping the SLD Server: "Failed to send start signal for complete cluster, SLD may still be stopped on other cluster nodes."
In the Logs I'm having some Errors:

    Hello Joseph:
Many thanks for sharing the solution with the community. I think the solution is what Adam aluded to in his post on May 7, 2010.

Which means that the connectivity between IE and AE is failing for the user PIISUSER, which basis has confirmed is repeatedly getting locked.
Can anyone please suggest where all this user needs to be maintained in the exchange profile, specially for calling the AFW url.

Apart from INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI, check any RFC Destination type H if you have proxy communicaiton in your landscape. You might have used the same user there. If there was recent password change for this user, make sure that it was changed in the RFC destinations as well.

  • Reg Target connection failed from catalog

    Hi,
i am configuring RMAN in my PROD.
    I have seperate catalog database.
I have added the TNS Entry of both in PROD and CATALOG Server.
TNSPING from both server is working.
I have created the password file in PROD.
    When i issue the command
rman catalog rman/rman target sys/sys@PROD it gives below error.
    RMAN-04005: error from target database:
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    But when i give
    sqlplus sys/sys@PROD
    it is getting connected.
One more thing already a test database is registered in the catalog as target.
Is there any Restriction that only one target can be registered in catalog.
If so how to deregister the existing target database.
    Kindly help in this regard.
    Regards
    Krishna

refer the link: i already mentioned:
Whether if i register the database using the second scenario then if try to connect using first ,will it work?you can connect with any database from rman, but why? no need, you can directly connect with recovery catalog from target.
you can get the backup information only from registered recovery catalog database.
IF i deregister the existing target database say TEST will the backup list of TEST will be removed automatically.yes, all information from recovery catalog is removed.
why you get confusion, register a database with recovery catalog is very simple
    1. create a recovery catalog user and grant recovery catalog owner role to user.
    2. connect the target database with the recovery catalog database
    3. register the database with the recovery catalog database.
    4. connect as recovery catalog datbase user and verify it using rc_database recovery catalog view.
refer the link i already mentioned.

  • Connections failed from WRT160N V2 to wirelssG-PCI adaptor

Bought a new router and for the price, upgraded to the N-router.  Was told that it would connect with the G-Pci and it doesn't.  When I watch the adaptor connecting, it goes through all the steps but never connects.  At my whits end and ready to trash it all and go back to "direct connect".  Any help would be great.

Well, it should definitely connect to the Internet...
You may try to adjust the Wireless Settings on your Linksys Router -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bit.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...
Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...
When you attempt to connect to your Wireless Network(if using Linksys Monitor) do not enter anything in Passphrase, just enter the WEP Key1 and it should connect...

  • Can we connect from Portal to MaxDB with the trial version of SAPNetWeaver?

I’ve installed SAP NetWeaver Developer Workplace SR2 (trial version) with the following components:
    •     SAP Web Application Server Java 7.00 (J2EE Engine)
    •     MaxDB 7.6.00.34 database + Database Manager and SQL Studio
    •     SAP Enterprise Portal
    •     SAP Content Management and Collaboration
    •     Adobe Document Services
    •     BI SDK
    •     Visual Composer
    •     Composite Application Framework (CAF)
Now, I created new TEST database in MaxDB (user: DBADMIN, pass: abcd).
I want to connect from the Portal to the TEST Database, so I follow the steps described in the documents (How To Configured BI JDBC Connector, ….)
    - I log on Visual Administrator, create BI JDBC Connector, create new DataSource.
Now, I can get the Data from TEST Database.
    - I log on Portal and create new BI JDBC System,
    + Driver: com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB,
    + Connection URL: jdbc:sapdb://sapep/test
    - Then, I create system alias, map user with the user in Test Database (User: DBADMIN. Pass: ABCD)
But when testing the connection, I’ve an error:
<b>Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.</b>
When I test the connection by the link:
    http://sapep:50000/TestJDBC_Web/TestJDBCPage.jsp
    I’ve an error:
    <b>com.sap.ip.bi.sdk.exception.BIConnectionFailedException: Cannot open the connection
    Exception id: [0008C72B8B0C00C60000006F0000114000042C18596CD779]</b>
Could you please show me how to resolved this problem ?
I don’t know if it is caused by the trial version ?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Tweety,
I assume that you have create the driver with the required .jar files.
    supose its name is MAX_DB
After that go to "Connector Container" in visual admin. To create a new connector,
select the connector SDK_JDBC and click the clone button to create a new BI JDBC connector and enter a name for the connector eg., SDK_MAXDB
Selct the recently created connector and choose the resource Adapter tab. click the add button to assiciate addtional resources the Connector
To add resource, enter the name as "library:MAX_DB".save the changes and restart the server.
Now in the portal there is a property "ConnectionFactory" set this to "SDK_MAXDB".
Now u have said that u have set the values for Driver and Url as
    + Driver: com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB,
    + Connection URL: jdbc:sapdb://sapep/test
the value for driver is correct but the value for connection URL is wrong.
    Connection URL:  jdbc:sapdb://<Machine_name>:<Port>/<Databse_name>
Now i dont what is the port no for MaxDB. as for SQL its 1433, for oracle it is 1521, for netezza it is 5480. U can get it from ur system adm or from net.
As u have not mentioned the port thats u r facing the problem.

  • Portal Test Connection Failed for JDBC Connector

    Hi,
We are trying to create a JDBC system in EP to connect SQL Server 2005 database. Our aim is to build a model in VC using data services from SQL Server 2005.
We deployed the Driver file sqljdbc.jar  and connection was successful when tested by creating a data source  in Visual Administrator-> JDBC Connector
We have created a system in EP with user mapping type (admin, user) and user mapping also done for system alias with the SQL Server administrator user id and password. UME is maintained in ABAP Stack. When we try for test connection with the system created in EP for JDBC connection, the system throws an error message like “Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct“
    Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the back end application using the connector defined in this system object
    Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
The following are the URL and driver class name:
    URL: jdbc:sqlserver://<host_name>:1433;DatabaseName=”db_ name”
    Driver class name: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
Is there any other setting to be maintained in the Visual Administrator or in the Portal?
Kindly let us know any clue to overcome this issue.
    Quick response highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Saravanan.r

    Hi Saravanan and Sathish,
not sure how far you got with this. I had the same problem or at least a very similar one with access to MS SQL Server 2005 and solved it. I followed essentially very similar steps with a couple of minor twists:
    1) copied the sqljdbc.jar file to the storyboard server and  set the classpath environment variable to point to it.
    2) I did not create a data source, just created a new driver "SQLServer".
    3) Under Connector Container I cloned SDK_JDBC as "SDK_SSQL".
    4) The Visual Composer property vc.bi.sqlEditor Enabled should be set to true for you to be able the SQL Editor in the Data Service in VC.
In the portal I created a system of type BI_JDBC from a template.
The connection url and driver class were as in the thread:
    URL: jdbc:sqlserver:ipaddress:1433;DatabaseName=name
    Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    ConnectionFActoryClass as above under 3.
    User rights: admin,user
The user mapping to the system alias should be as described.
This should allow you to use the data service in VC to access SQL Server tables. If access to stored procedures (sometimes quite useful) is required, this would need to utilise the p9sqlserver.jar file already on the server.
    Best Regards
    Felix Logemann

  • Testing T-code from portal fails

    Hi all,
While trying to connect to back end system from portal sys config-support - SAP application - SAP transaction and testing for SAP Local system for PA20 i get the following error:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction

Exception in SAP Application Integrator occured: Unable to parse template '<ClientWindowID><System.r3name><System.client><Request.Language><User.Accessibility><LAF.RightToLeft>'; the problem occured at position 16. Exception id: 11:11_30/10/08_0001_4635250
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Can you please suggest a solution for this. I have looked into the forum and found only 2-3 relevant threads however, trying these out unfortunately didn't resolve this error.
    Regards.

    Mohammad,
You are moving in the right direction.
There are only few things missing.
    1. You need to worry only about ITS, not connector or Web AS settings.
    Make sure you setup:
    a.ITS Host Name: <host>:<port, usually 800X>
    b.ITS Path: /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
    c.ITS Protocol: http
    2. Add a new Alias name:
Right click on the system, select Open->System Aliases
    Give it a name TEST_SYS_ALIAS
    Click Add button
    Save
    3. Do Connection test for ITS only.
If fails - see the error. It can be SSO problem or /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui is not activated on the backend.
Let me know if you need help with those.
If success - go and test your transaction again.
    Select system TEST_SYS_ALIAS
Transaction code - any Tcode you need (PA20 or SMEN for system menu)
SAP GUI Type: SAP GUI for HTML
    It should work.

Hi there, I am trying to connect to my server at work from home using a vpn connection. It connects fine and the time ticks along, but when i click go - connect to server, it comes up with connection failed. Please help!

If you're trying to connect to a Bonjour server on the remote network, that won't work over a layer 3 VPN. Use something like Hamachi or one of the SSH-tunnelling Bonjour proxy apps for that.

  • HTTPS connection from portal to external webserver

    Hi,
I am looking for a way to open a HTTPS connection from portal server to an external webserver. According to <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/71c83edf72e16be10000000a114084/content.htm">SAP</a> the code should look like
    KeyStore keystoreCAs = ...
    SecureConnectionFactory factory = new SecureConnectionFactory(keystoreCAs, null);
    HttpURLConnection con = factory.createURLConnection("https://www.mycompany.com");
Does not look difficult, <b>but how do I create the keystore object</b>? The keystore object should somehow be connected to the portal server's keystore which manages the certificates of trusted Certificate Authorities.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Martin

    Hi,
meanwhile I solved the problem by my own. The solution slightly simplified is given below.
    javax.naming.InitialContext ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
    java.lang.Object o = ctx.lookup("keystore");
    com.sap.engine.services.keystore.interfaces.KeystoreManagerWrapper_Stub manager = (com.sap.engine.services.keystore.interfaces.KeystoreManagerWrapper_Stub) o;
    java.security.KeyStore keystoreCAs = manager.getKeystore("TrustedCAs");
    com.sap.security.core.server.https.SecureConnectionFactory factory = new SecureConnectionFactory(keystoreCAs, null);
    java.net.HttpURLConnection con = factory.createURLConnection("https://www.mycompany.com");
For connecting via a proxy the host name and port number of the proxy have to be set as System properties using "https.proxyHost" and "https.proxyPort".
    java.util.Properties systemSettings = System.getProperties();
              systemSettings.put("proxySet", "true");
              systemSettings.put("https.proxyHost","192.168.0.1") ;
              systemSettings.put("https.proxyPort", "80") ;
Additionally you have to make sure that the server's certificate is issued by a trusted Certification Authority (Must have an entry in your Keystore "TrustedCAs"). To verify this use the Visual Administrator and view service "Key Storage".

    Martin

  • Invoking BPEL process from ADF application - webservice connection failed

    Hi,
I am trying to invoke a Bpel process from ADF page , I deployed the same in Standalone SOA server since I had to display some Human Task Forms.
I created a webservice data control out of the bpel process and dropped the process method in my page.
The page on which I dropped the process method stopped rendering and I checked the logs and found that I got the error mesage- webservice connection failed, the webservice url could not be reached and in the logs it also asks us to check if the connections.xml is available in the meta-inf directory. I checked the conections.xml is available in the EAR.
So any pointers here and any one faced this error anytime?
is there better ways to invoke the bpel flow from ADF page.
    Thanks,
    Robin

    Hi,
Check if your wsdl endpoint can accessed properly. If yes, check the soap-binding address is properly pointing to the server hosting the webservice.

  • Error "The Connection Failed" in Time Machine, Migration Assistant and Restore From DVD

I am receiving this error when trying to connect to my Time Machine Backup in my Time capsule. I input the proper password to access my Time Capsule and It returns me to the screen with the caption "The connection failed" under the Time Capsule name in the "Select your Disk" screen. What would cause this error. I am connecting via WIFI (AirPort) and have full signal. I am using Mac OSX 10.6.8
I recently had my 1TB hard drive replaced and I am attempting to restore using Time Machine, migration assistant or from the startup dvd (tried multiple ways, no success). The initial setup of mac OSX 10.6 would not let me connect or other attempts after erasing hard drive and reinstalling OSX from disk.
Worked on it all weekend and don't have enough beer to drown the frustration, any help is appreciated.

You are correct TM is not at all easy to do a full restore.
To answer your question: Yes TM disk does show up in finder.
After my initial startup setup I was able to start TM and access all my previous backups. I migrated some files and was able grab the data from finder. Not satisfied with that I tried to do a restore to that previous date, to no success. I then erased the HD and reinstalled OSx and tried again from the setup screen. That didn't work, sulked over some beers. I then tired with Migration assistant...same result (more beer).
In starting TM after trying MA, only one backup was showing in the Star screen (today). None of my previous backups were showing. Since exiting TM it has been "Making Backup Disk Available" ( xGB of 6.29GB). Considering the size, I can only assume that these are my previous backups.
I have reviewed Pondini's posts, FAQs, and tutorials. I am a little scared to try and locate the drives through Terminal as in Pondini's TS #6 guide. If I can get my previous backups to show up, I will be happy with dragging files from Finder to restore my data and slowly work at restoring my settings/applications.
