  • In SLD WEB AS JAVA systems

    hi,
I had a small query that for WEB AS ABAP we use application systems like APO,SCM etc
but for WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
    regards
    guna

    Hello Guna,
WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
Web AS Java systems) automatically report information to the SLD about the elements that they contain by using the SLD data supplier programs. You need to manually register the following types of system only:
    ·        Standalone Java systems
    ·        Third-party systems
To manually register these systems – and if you want to maintain additional data about automatically registered systems – you use the technical system browser.
WEB AS JAVA . which application systems are used ?
    Database Only as Data Source
Description: All user, user account, role, and group data is stored in the database of the SAP Web Application Server Java.
Use case: You can use this scenario if UME is only used by dedicated Java applications that do not need to connect to ABAP systems or third-party systems. An example is a Web Application Server Java that is used as a developer workplace for small desktop development
    Configuration file: dataSourceConfiguration_database_only.xml

  • Registering ABAP system with SLD Web AS JAVA

    Hello,
I'm trying to register an ABAP only system with an SLD that resides on a JAVA-only system. When registering the ABAP system in RZ70, I enter the gateway host of the JAVA-only system and the gateway service as "sapgw<instance>". However, when looking at the java-only system, I don't see that the gateway is even running.
The JAVA only system is running on Windows 2008.
    A couple questions:
    1) Is "sapgw<instance>" the gateway service on a java-only system?
    2) If the gateway is running, does it show in the services or in the SAP MMC?
    3) I've tried starting the gateway manually using "gwrd -force pf=<start profile>" and the dev_rd log says"***LOG S00=> GwInitReader, gateway started ( 2980) [gwxxrd.c     1757]
ERROR => [CreateOsShm] CreateFileMapping(5,4 KB) failed with Err=5
EIO*: Input/output error OR: Access is denied. [shmnt.c      2174]
    ERROR => ShmCreate: Create (5,4096,1) failed [shmnt.c      506]
Is this the right way to start the gateway?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dale Dingmann

    Hi Dale,
could you please tell us which Release your AS Java is? I have an AS Java 7.01(UsageType EP) on an AIX machine with a local SLD to which an AS ABAP 7.01 should register. I am not sure whether I can use the solution mentioned above or whether I have to install a standalone gateway.
System Landscape Directory Planning Guide (March 2010, page 43) quotes quite a similar solution but without Information concerning the release. This information also belongs to a standalone SLD. The last three scentences of SAP Note 1057720 quotes that for releases up to and including Release 7.0 one has to install a standalone gateway. In higher releases however "the SCS of the AS Java installs an RFC gateway and configures it as the default in the SLD". Is AS Java 7.01 a higher release than 7.00 and how can I check wheter there is an installed Gateway on SCS instance or not?
    Can someone clarify that point?
    Best Regards

  • SLD-Technical system -Web AS Java

    Dear All,
I am able create techinical system for Web As ABAP. And want to create Web AS Java. Will you please explain me procedure.

    Hi,
Ideally you should not create any technical system manually. When you go to SLD Administrstion --> profiles --> Data supplier, here you enter your backend server specific data for e.g. host name, instance number etc, and then you restart your SLD.once this is done successfully then your technical system automatically gets available under Technical Syatems. you should follow the same for JAVA system.

  • WEB-AS JAVA type TS not removable from SLD

    Hi Experts,
I have a peculiar issue where In I have a ECC 6.0 ( SID :- RD1) added in my SLD of PI 7.0 as WEB-AS ABAP Type Technical System.
I was able to work with the corresponding Business System in my ID( configuration). But two days back when I logged in to view my SLD , I could see that in my Technical System category there are two instances of RD1 one WEB-AS ABAP and other WEB-AS JAVA . Now I suppose WEB-AS JAVA type TS for RD1 was created by mistake. But now when I am removing it from the TS category and also removing the instances created under BCSystem and SAP JAVA cluster in content maintainence. I see the WEB-AS JAVA type TS appearing again in the TS after some time. I repeated the same several times and also start/stop  the SLD server but then after sometime again the WEB-AS JAVA type TS for RD1( ECC 6.0 - not required) appearing in the list of TS.
I  am unable to understand this absurd behaviour. I have carefully removed all the instances from the content maintainence but still it appears after sometime.
Are there any other possible places where there can be instance created for the WEB-AS JAVA type TS in SLD server where from I am supposed to remove it ???
    Regards
    Nishant

    Hi Nishant,
    You question is little confusing
Case1. Are you saying : You made TS (Say XYZ) for ABAP part of an SAPECC system and next day you found a TS with the same name (XYZ) for the same SAPECC system, but the component was JAVA  In short you have two TS one for each ABAP  & Java Part of the same systems.
Case2 :1. Are you saying : You made TS (Say XYZ) for ABAP part of an SAPECC system and next day you found a TS with the some other name (ABC) for the same SAPECC system, but the component was JAVA  In short you have a TS for each ABAP  & Java Part of the same system.  If this is the case then, how is this possible both cannot have same name

  • Web as java and abap

How can we create  technical systems for WEB as JAVA and ABAP

    Hi,
Working with System Landscape Directory (SLD)
System Landscape Directory is the place where you define the clients landscape information (Technical System and Business System) and also describe the Products and Software Components that is been installed on these systems. Apart from just defining these information we can also facilitate installations, upgrades and transports using SLD. I like to always spell it as "Information Provider for XI".
Lets go some more deeper into the subject and elaborate each of the topic, as I said SLD targets on information like Landscape Information (DEV, QA and PROD) and softwares installed (ECC, CRM, APO) apart from these we can do some of administration parts like locking, transports of packages.
Landscape Information: It is also called as "Systems Catalog". This basically describes the systems in two views Technical system (Physically) and Business System (Logically). Hey One question how you refer to you PC in office. Do you refer it with IP address or with some desk number (XYZ.01.45). Well if you refer with IP then you may have a host name attached to it (Type "hostname" command in the Command Prompt to check the Host name of your system) then it is called as Technical system and if you give any logical name to it say desk number then it is called as Business System. Simple!
So, logically I can say that a One Technical System can be reffered with multiple Business system names. Okay, let me also put in this way for SAP guys. If R/3 is installed on one machine and this R/3 has multiple clients on the same system. Then the system is called as Technical system and multiple Clients are called as Business Systems.
Example: When we define the 3rd Party system we assign HostName to Technical system and some Logical Name (LEG001) to the Business System. If we are creating SAP system then the HostName is Technical System and Clients are addressed as Business systems.
    Step by Step process :

  • Web as JAVA in Technical System

    Hi,
I deleted my web as java in technical system for mistake and when I created same information doesn´t show.
How I created the web as java?
    Thanks,
    Diego

    Hi Diego.
If we are speaking about the J2EE of XI, just restart the J2EE from transaction SMICM or with a STOPSAP STARTSAP.
The J2EE will register it self automatically into the SLD.

  • Create a Technical System Web AS Java

    Hi guys,
Anyone knows how to create a Technical Sys Web AS Java like we usual do with RZ70?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi -
Using the VA corresponding to the Web AS Java system, goto the SLD Data Supplier service, then Runtime tab->HTTP Settings tab (bottom).  fill in required parms and save.  To trigger an initial send, use the button ("This triggers data transfer to SLD...") - left most button on upper toolbar of service.  Check your SLD for tech system creation.

  • Logical Destinations in Web Dynpro Java

    Hi!
Is it possible to access logical HTTP destinations maintained in SAP NetWeaver Administrator via Configuration Management -> Security ->Destinations in Web Dynpro Java source-code.
I would like to use such a destination to configure an URL target for a IWDFrame UI element.
Thank you very much in advance!
    Regards,
    Thomas

I found out that there is a [Destination Service API|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/8b/8e7dac1e661d44bf2a676fd3948cc6/content.htm] for this purpose. Unfortunatly I am still not able to provide the required components security.class and tc/sec/destinations/interface to the web dynpro component. Maintaining them via Project Properties -> Web Dynpro is not allowed any more, and I couldn't find them in the DC perspective to add them as DC dependency.
Has anybody got an idea where these two libraries have gone?
    Regards,
    Thomas
PS: The 7.0 procedure, which can be found in various posts, doesn't seem to work any more for CE 711.

  • Date Column not getting sorted in a table in web Dynpro Java

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue while sorting the date column in a table in my web dynpro java application.
When the date is displayed in the sql format in tha table, I am able to sort the date column successfully but when we convert the date field from sql format to util format in our table and then sort it does not work.
Kindly let us know the steps to be followed in this case to sort the date column of a table in Simple Date format as we do not want date in the sql format to be displayed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi,
You might want to check whether both your browser's language settings are identical. The browser language could also determine the date format.
As a workaround, you could add an extra attribute to your context, and set the calculated property to 'true'.
In your table, add a new column and bind to this new attribute, and hide your original date column
If you sort using the date column that's hidden now, you could use the calculated field to fixed-format your date the way you prefer (by using the SimpleDateFormatter class for instance)
    Cheers,
    Robin
