Slide show sort order in PSE11

When I choose Folder Location as the sort order for a PSE 11 slideshow, the photos are put in reverse order, from last in the folder to first in the folder.  How can I fix this?
Thanks!

From what I can understand, there are three problems:
1 - the inability of PSE11 to sort by filenames (recognized by Adobe, hopefully solved in ulterior versions...)
2 - the difference of behaviour of the downloader and the organizer (to my knowledge, not reported before)
3 - the fact that the 1/100th of seconds do not seem to be written to the exif by the camera. They are not saved in the sqlite database either...
That means that the difference of behaviour should be explained. If the organizer is able to show pictures in the right order when the date/times are set identically for a series of pictures, that means it is able to use the alphanumeric filename sort as a secondary criteria - the downloader should be corrected to do so.
Another question : besides renaming your files at download, do you use the automatic date folder creation of the downloader ?

  • TV Show Sort Order?

I don't know if I'm alone on this one. But since the introduction of TV Shows in iTunes and FrontRow, my TV Shows have always been in a random order. I regularly download content from the iTunes store, Transfer content from EyeTV and all it seems to do is change the sort order again. I would hope it would sort alphabetically like everything else.
Can anyone provide any feedback on FrontRow's TV Show sort order?

I am having the same problem. It's soooo annoying. No matter how you sort your TV programs in iTunes, when you access them in Front Row they're in the most random order. For the life of me I cannot figure out what data is being used to determine this order--not date, not title, not genre, not artist, nothing! Get it together Apple! If anyone has figured this out please share.

  • Slide show dislplay order, am I doing something wrong?

I want my entire Library to run as a slide show so I selected it and then clicked the slide show button. The slide show appears in the source pane but the images in the opposite order that I want them to play, and the View>Sort Photos menu is all grayed out.
I thought maybe I might have to create a new album in order set the display order of the slide show, so I did that and dragged all 6000 or so images to the new album. I then selected the album and clicked the Slide Show button, but alas, I got the same result.
It appears that iPhoto won't display images in slide show in anything but Ascending order, is that correct? Am I missing something?
    Thanks.

    Hi Old Toad,
In anything other than a slide show (main library, albums and smart albums), I can change the display direction. The option to change display order from ascending to descending, however, is grayed out in the slide show so I can't change it. Plus, even if the album is sorted by descending order, iPhoto, when it creates a slide show from the album, automatically sorts it in ascending order. I'm thinking it's a bug.

  • Import photos for slide show, in order, to key frames?

How can you import a folder of images straight into the timeline as a sequence of key frames for a slide show?

    Steve,
    in flash cs3:
make sure images are in a folder.
    go to file.
    select import.
    select import to stage.
flash will display a message:  File appears to be part of a sequence of images.  Do you want to import all of the images in the sequence?
    obviously you answer yes.
you shoud be good to go.

  • Can I change thePhoto Downloader sort order in PSE11

The default sort for the Photo Downloader seems be by date and time. I recently purchased a camera the does up to 10 fps and the Downloader does not seems to have resolution to sort the micro-second or even second. I batch download the images and also do a rename of the files in this format yyyymmdd-###. I am finding my action sequences are all out of order. What I really just need the Downloader to do is sort by sequential camera number just like it comes out of the camera. Then all the images would be renamed in the right order. I tried modifying the XML settings file but that was no help.  Am I missing something obvious?
    Thanks

  • ITunes 7.1 and TV Show sort order...

Is there noway to undo the upgrade from iTunes 7.1 to iTunes 7.02 until they solved this annoying iPod TV show problem? Nothing was wrong with the list on that version. Unbelievable they changed something like this!
    Martijn

I agree, my TV Shows are now all out of order. iTunes used to organize them by Season Number then Episode Number, now it ignores those fields and organizes only by Episode ID. I hope this gets fixed quickly, because I really don't want to delete the tags on a few hundred shows.

  • QuickTime Slide Shows in iPhoto

Is it possible to edit a QuickTime Slide Show (often called a QuickTime movie), i.e. is it possible to change the music in a completed QuickTime Slide Show. Let's say that I make a slide show in iPhoto and I add the music, and I file it in a folder. Can I take that slide show and later change the music in that slide show, ie exchange the selected song with another song. Or do I have to remake the slide show in order to add the other music?

Depending on the type of slide show you've made (iPhoto makes two styles) you can edit the final .mov file using QuickTime Pro.
One of the iPhoto types uses three nearly identical video tracks slightly offset in time and another track that provides the "fade" effect. The other type is a 30 fps (frames per second) video that contains transitions and effects and all is contained in one video track.
Lets assume that your music track is three minutes in either type. Adding a 4 minute new audio track will slow down the playback and alter the frame rate. Not a big deal for a simple fade slide show but it will reduce the frame rate when added scaled.
Open your new sound file using QT Pro, select all (Command-A) and copy (Command-C).
Switch to your slide show movie, select all and "Add to Selection & Scale" from the Edit menu.
Open the Movie Properties window. Highlight your original sound track and "Delete".
Use Save As, name the file and pick a location to save. This will leave your original file intact.
Same images and effects as the original with a new audio track.
Don't use music purchased from the iTunes Music Store. They are protected and can't be exported to QuickTime formats.

  • Album sort order PSE11 - is it by design ?

When experimenting with the sort order of albums in PSE11, I was surprised to see that in some albums, changing the sort order from 'oldest' to 'newest' did not produce any effect.
The reason of this probably lies in the menu /preferences/general :
If you have only pictures taken the same day, the above setting will still show 'oldest first' even you choose 'newest first' for album order.
I believe that the most used order is 'album order' and that the 'newest first' is very rare.
I can understand the option to browse 'oldest first within each day' when in 'newest first' in thumbnail view.
However, I wonder if that option makes sense to sort an album ?
    Was it by design ?
    If it were me...
I would not use that preference for an album,
    and...
I would add the option to sort by filename and caption.

Figured it out. I added "Various Artists" in the Album Artist field for every track and it then sorted them all together.

  • How can I change the order of photos in iPhoto so I can create the slide show I want?

How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.

Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac.  I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album.  Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu.  Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number.  Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder.  Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window.  The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc.  There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder.  Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name.  001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad.  Click on your iPad device in the list at the left.  Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right.  In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are.  Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right.  The slides will be copied to your iPad.  Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding.  Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad.  But this worked and gave me several options.  I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV.  TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.
    Hope this helps!

  • Random order for a slide show?

How do you select a random order for a slide show?

    You rang?
I had actually started working on this sometime in the past when this question was asked before. I never got around to finishing it but I cobbled this together this AM:
    set newList to {}
    tell application "Aperture"
      activate
              set imageSel to (the selection)
              if imageSel is {} then
                        error "Select images."
              else
repeat until (count of newList) = (count of imageSel)
set randomPick to random number from 1 to (count of imageSel)
if randomPick is not in newList then set newList's end to randomPick
                        end repeat
repeat with i from 1 to count of newList
                                  tell item i of imageSel to make new custom tag with properties {name:"Random", value:item i of newList}
                        end repeat
              end if
    end tell
Takes a selection and assigns random numbers to each image in the selection,
Creates a custom tag Random and populates it with numbers. If you add the custom field Random to the list view metadata parameters you can sort on it and then switch back to icon view and the images will remain in the random order.
You have to be careful if you change the sort order of course the randomness will be gone and you will need to go back to list view to re-establish it.

  • SLIDE SHOW ORDER

I cannot get ATV2 to display the slides in my album in the order they are in the album.  IT goes along for a while in order, the reverts back to earlier slides. After a while it will resume later on in the order?   It may be my imigination, but when it reverts to earlier slides/plays for example 5 ealrier slides, when it resumes in order, it seems to have skipped 5 slides?   I just want the slides to play in order........

  • PSE9 - can a slide show be created from multiple folders in folder order?

I keep my pictures in folders by year.  In all other releases of Photoshop Elements I could select keywords, display them from all folders, then create a slide show from all folders in file name within folder order.  Is this still possible in PSE9?  I tried sorting them in the Quick Reorder screen and couldn't figure out what order it put them in.  I find it frustrating having to rearrange all the pictures.

    Hi,
If you are looking for a way to show files in date order then you can do so using the option Media Browser arrangement shown on top right of image well. You can choose Date Newest First or Oldest First as required. In folder view of PSE 9 you will be shown files that have been i mported from that folder only. You can turn on the timeline(Ctrl + L)  to navigate between folders.
Hope this helps. It would be great if you could explain the workflow more clearlrfor us to help further.
    Thanks

  • How do I re-order pictures in the slide show feature?

I am wanting to periodically add pictures to the slide show. Is there a way to...1. re-order the pictures? and 2. Have the latest one added be the picture that is the one first seen when the page is opened?
    Thanks.

You can delete them and re-add them accordingly or you can use random which would show the random order of images.
Another workaround can be be done using layers, where you can drag the image to the desired position which you want to show in order with slideshow.
I have created a short video for you , please download from here :
