Slideshows to iTunes

I create slideshows in Elements 7 and they have to be saved as wmv. files.   How can I download/export thes videos to iTunes for synching to my iPod Touch?    iTunes say that only videos purchased from Apple can be downloaded to iTunes, but I am sure I have seen a methodto convert these file names in Photoshop so that they will be accepted by iTunes.
Any information would be appreciated.   I had posted this on Photoshop Forum but was recommended to place it here.

Problem solcved.
Download free copy of Prism and convert wmv. files to MPEG4 which will then import into iTunes.   In iTunes create iPod version and Slideshow is then viewable in Movies on iPod Touch.

  • Front Row Won't Play Slideshow Music (iTunes)

I created a slideshow in iPhoto and selected an iTunes playlist as my music source. When I play the slideshow from Front Row the music does not play. However, if I play a photo event from Front Row the default music does play. Why won't my slideshow play the music?
    Please advise.

Front Row in Mac OS X 10.5.x has been broken the whole time. It used to work fine in Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger). Front Row will not play an iTunes playlist during a slideshow if the playlist contains more than one song. You can use a playlist that only has one song in it, but then you might as well just choose a single song instead of a playlist! I would suggest you send Apple some Mac OS X feedback:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
For what it's worth, iPhoto seems to work fine with slideshows and iTunes playlists with more than one song.

  • Exported iphoto slideshow to itune but playback quality is low

I am using Macbook air Early 2014. OS X 10.10.1
My question is I exported iphoto slideshow to itune but playback quality is low. I used 480P MP4 format. How I can improve this?
    Lo

    Hello!
My first question is pretty obvious:
    - is the quality great when previewing your slideshow in iPhoto?
    If so, try the following:
delete the bad slideshow from iTunes
go back to iPhoto and select a better quality export method, like 720p or 1080p
    Did that help?

  • Exporting Aperture Slideshow to Itunes

I created a slide show in Aperture, exported it for iTunes and Apple TV, but I cannot find it in iTunes or show it on the TV. What do I have to do?

What are your Aperture version and iTunes version?
Did you use the following export settings for the slideshow?
With these setting, the slideshow appeared in iTunes in the "Movies" section of the Library in the "Home Videoas tab", like this:
    What settings did you use?

See the above discussion. I believe (but to be honest, I am no expert. I am trying to figure out a different, but related question) that you can reformat your iPod to the FAT32 system on your PC, then go back to your Mac, use it as a hard drive, and transfer your songs to your PC that way. Once in the FAT32 format both PCs and Macs will read the iPod disk.

  • Problems sharing an iphoto app slideshow to itunes

    Hello,
Ive recently created a slide show on my ipad air using the iphoto app and want to send it to my macbook or to my email or somwhere! Ive tried all the 'share options' in the iphoto app with no success. when i try to 'export to itunes' it completes the process and says 'itunes export complete' but where is it? i have searched itunes and my mac book and found nothing. what can I do? 'sharing' media to from device to device is meant to be easy but this is rediculious!

I have tried the other share options with no success. what good is the slide show if i cant send it for others to view?
Well, yes, the general idea is that you use the iPad's high-qulity retina display to present your slideshow.
send feedback to Apple, that the ability to share the finished products - slideshows, books is essential:  Use this form:  Apple - iPhoto - Feedback
You cannot sync the slideshows to your mac as a slideshow or mail it, but in iPhoto 2.0 you can publish the slideshow on your iCloud home page as a slideshow (also shared photo streams and journals can be published as slideshows). You can share the link to the page with selected people.
    Publish slideshows on the web
Share your web journal as a webpage: http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/?handbuch#blnkaf3ef70a
Publish a new slideshow with iCloud
Tap Projects, select a slideshow, tap the "Share" button , and tap iCloud.
Tap to turn on Publish to iCloud.
To list your slideshow on a home page, tap to turn on Add to Home Page.Note:  If you add a slideshow to your home page, visitors to the slideshow can also see your home page and any other slideshows you add there.
To share a link to your published slideshow, tap Share Slideshow Link and do any of the following:
Send a link in a message: Tap Message, add a recipient, and tap Send.
Tweet a link: Tap Twitter, enter a tweet, and tap Post.
Post a link to Facebook: Tap Facebook and tap Post.
Send an email with a link: Tap Mail, add a recipient, and tap Send.
Copy a link: Tap Copy and paste the link into another app.
To share a link to your home page (which includes all your published slideshows), tap Share Home Page and follow the instructions in step 4.

  • IPhoto Slideshow using iTunes purchased music publish to .Mac

I created a slideshow which used a song which I purchased through the music store. I exported this and uploaded it to .mac. If I view this web page on a another computer beside my mac it wants it to be authorized.
I thought when I purchase music I could use it in iPhoto and iMovie. Why is it forcing me to authorize all computers.
How am I suppose to share this slideshow/movie with my friends and family. I am all for DRM when it comes to protecting music but now I can not use the song except on my mac or computers I authorize (Which is limited to 5). I think this is a bit unfair.

    Hi Squig,
It's a shame isn't it. You need to do a little sneaky work around by first burning the tune to cd (while you are at it, burn a bunch of others that you might want to use in a slideshow. Import the burned cd back into iTunes. Click on date added column so you can see the DRM-less tunes you just imported. Rename those tunes so you know those are the ones without the DRM and then use those tunes in your slideshows.
by the way, you can use them in iMovie if you are then sending those iMovies to burn within iDVD. You will run into the problem if you export the iMovie to quicktime.

  • Not 'authorized' to play music in slideshow by itunes even though I AM

iphoto slideshow I made last year with song I bought last year on itunes. Same slideshow already saved as Quicktime last year! BOTH refuse to play song without extra 'authorization' from itunes. So I do that and itunes tells me I am authorized 5 times over. But iphoto doesn't care. No matter what I do: Buy the song again, buy a new song, I can't play ANY itunes music for my slideshow!!! This is a Christmas present!!! Help!!!

You need iTunes 7 and QuickTime 7.1.3. Both are free downloads.
Yes, it is frustrating how they keep trying to force us to upgrade. Sometimes feels as if we are being conned. But I don't think it's as bad as you think. Apple offers iTunes 7 as a free download. Free because the real money for them is in selling from the iTunes Store. Also you can update Quicktime Player for free. You only have to pay if you wish to step up to QuickTime Pro. As far as I know, you don't need to Pro version to enable your iTunes.
I wish I could help you with your troubles upgrading QuickTime, but I just don't have experience in this area. You could post a new topic on the QuickTime forum and maybe someone can help you figure this one out. And if you want to see how many others have been is the same boat, search the iTunes for Mac forum for "unauthorized error update QuickTime." When iTunes 7 and QuickTime 7.1.3 were first released, and suddenly users couldn't play their iTMS songs, there were hundreds of users posting and puzzling over the cause.

  • IPhoto slideshow with iTunes playlist

I have created a playlist in iTunes, adding 3 songs from the library. I have also created a slideshow in iPhoto and in settings I have selected the playlist I created for this event. However, when I play the slideshow it plays a sample song unless I select a specific song in the created playlist. And, it only plays one of the 3 songs I added.
I tried another computer, same results. We are a school but are not on the network for this work. iTunes is fully updated as is iPhoto.

Yes, they are all MP3. I tried other songs also on another computer and I had the same results. At this point I will burn a CD for the teacher to play during the slide show (it is an end of the year presentation for parents.) Not the result I want, but I cannot find any answers for this issue.
Please don't give up finding out the answer! I appreciate any input and am willing to try all options.

  • IPhoto Slideshow - No iTunes library

I can not add music to my iPhoto slideshow. When attempting, music appears in Sample window but nothing in iTunes window. I tried everything listed in the help section without success.

In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who figured that one out.

  • Slideshows and Itunes

I have a number of slideshows that I have made, all of which I included ITunes music. Recently I tried to make a new slideshow, but when I went to add my music the window that popped up looked different. The box now lists "Library" and all of the other Itunes folders, but won't let you click on them and view the song options that are in each folder. When I type in the song I want in the search box, it will say "1 Item" next to the box, but when I click PLAY it just plays the first song that is listed in my ITunes library. I looked this issue up in the IPhoto help box and it suggested having ITunes open at the same time but this didnt work either. Didn't know if anyone would have any suggestions...or even understand what I am talking about.
    Thanks!

  • IDVD Slideshows and ITunes (again)

I have read all the posts on this topic and tried the fixes and still having problems. I continue to get the need authorization from ITunes for music I have just downloaded (and I have updated all my software) AND randomly a song from a playlist won't play even though others do. Help, I never had these problems with earlier versions of IDVD.

Burn an audio CD of the music you're using. Import that and replace your protected music. Should work fine.

  • Synched iTunes on computer with iTunes on iPad.  I cannot find my slideshow (slideshow.movie) anywhere on the iPad.  (Not in Videos, either)  Where is it???

Synched my iTunes on computer with iTunes on iPad.  All synched, but cannot find my slideshow inn iTunes on iPad. (Format is slideshow.movie and is under Movies in iTunes).  Not under Videos, either.  Where is it?

Are you sure that the movie was transferred? You actually checked the movie to sync in the movies tab in iTunes?
Actually after re- reading your post - these are the supported video formats for the iPad. I am not a video converting expert, but I don't see that particular format listed here.
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

  • Slideshows now in iTunes; how do I share from there?

Couldn't burn slideshows b/c iPhoto Share in top menu greys out "Burn" and bottom Export gives no burn choice. So I went with iTunes (automatically checked anyway). Now the photos (in several slideshows so far) are not sharp, and I don't know the next step to get those slideshows from iTunes to others via burning a DVD. (But first, how do i improve sharpness; the original slideshows have perfect clarity. I used "medium" instead of "large.")
10.8.5; iPhoto 9.4.3; iTunes 11.3.1; and lots of unused memory. I don't use iLife.

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

  • Slideshow won't export to itunes

I've previously been able to export man slideshows to itunes. I'm now using iphoto 9.4.1 and OSX 10.4.7. I can create and watch the slideshow fine but when I try and export it, the process starts but there is no progress on the progress bar and the picture is black/blank. Itunes opens up after a moment but nothing happens. Have repaired and rebuilt library. Updated flip4mac. Exported slides to desktop. Tried smaller shows with new pics. Have 100GB space available. Nothing is working. Can't reload from app store because 10.7.5 does not support the latest version of iphoto, needs 10.9 or greater. Any tips?

It sounds like you are having issues with exporting a slideshow from iPhoto, a frustrating situation to be sure. I would suggest using the steps in this article to troubleshoot -
