Slow connection in one server if accessing through Cisco ACE
Hi,
Good day, Can someone help me on my problem? I have 3 servers, server1, server2 and server3. When one pc accessing the server 3 application via Cisco ACE, it experienced a slow connection but when direct access without Cisco Ace, it's fast. The connection of this PC through cisco ace and direct access have no issue.
What need to do in my configuration? Below is my configuration

Hi Earsdale,
All the three servers are using the same configuration, so, I'm afraid it's not possible to give you a simple answer. You will need more troubleshooting.
I would recommend you to start by checking the differences between the servers because one of those differences is certainly causing the failure.
Also, it would be helpful to get traffic captures on the TenGig interface of the ACE to compare the behavior of the connection when going to the different servers, as well as the differences when being load-balanced vs accessing the server directly.
If you need help with this troubleshooting, you can always open a TAC service request

Daniel

Dear Fellas:
I received "database error #2002 can not connect local mysql server to socket through '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'(2)" on mac os x 10.9.2.

Please help!!Fascinated and guessing:
Something related to sock(2) because that's not part of your copied info. I'm thinking you've doubled up on sockets and the second socket doesn't exist, meaning you should be connecting to the first socket "mysqld.sock" whether automatic or not.
I've only used GUI tools on purpose, so does this mean you've already got MySQL running and you tried to launch it again manually? Perhaps you already have one instance of a db and you're trying to launch a second instance, and the two can't coexist with a single user local db?
Assuming this is all local, I'd shut down the db service and restart it, out of hand. I've seen similar messages when I set the db to start up on boot, and it didn't finish shutting down when I tried to restart it manually. Usually the GUI won't let me turn it on because it reports it's already running, but in that case it hadn't finished performing what the GUI was reporting.
Just speculating. -
Hello,
I have full representation of the Lync 2010 from Outside (i.e. Internet), but I still have small issue related to Lync-to-Exchange integration. Clients who is using Lync client from outside (i.e. Internet) cannot see Exchange-related information including
Call Logs, Voicemail and Calendar information.
Here is the experience and error messages that anyone will see when connecting to Lync server from Outside:
And this is the error message that will be displayed on Lync phone edition devices (a.g. Polycom CX-700) when connected from Internet:
If somebody can suggest what I can try I would appreciate this very much. I do believe that many other people have this issue as well.
Thanks!Hi, we had this issue and I ended up logging a MS support job. Turns out it was the TMG rule/Auth method causing the issue.
Job details:
**Symptom:
Lync Client External User are not able to retrieve the EWS URL
**Troubleshooting:
• We found External users are not able to Retrieve the EWS information in the Lync Client .
• We found the below error in the ETL logs.We found for EWS request we are getting the 401 response
HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized ( The server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web server is denied. Contact the server administrator. )
• TMG need pass through Authentication
Public names are autodiscover.domain.com and Outlook anywhere External FQDN and paths are /ews/* and /autodiscover/*, OAB/*
Users is All Users, and Delegation is "No delegation but client may authenticate directly" on the corresponding tabs of the publishing rule.
This changes is required for Lync Client as Lync Client does not work well with this BASIC authentication on TMG .
• After TMG engineer changed this settings in the TMG users are able to see EWS information.

ACE slowness issue when one server goes down
Hi,
We are having two application servers. Both are load balanced using ACE.
When we bring down one server, we find that when we upload some files into the second application server, its too slow.
But when primary server comes up again the performance increases. This issue happens only when we bring the primary server down.
We are using cookie based stickiness.Any ideas where we can look into.
Rgds.,
SachinDepending on the load-balancing algorithm or predictor that you configure, the ACE performs a series of checks and calculations to determine which server can best service each client request. The ACE bases server selection on several factors including the source or destination address, cookies, URLs, HTTP headers, or the server with the fewest connections with respect to load.

I want to transfer all the files from source server with respective directory to designation server with respective directory (designation server - oracle reside server).
Is it possible to ftp from one server to another server(designation server - oracle reside server) through pl/sql. these two servers are independent & unix server. No ... The package mentioned in
http://www.oracle-base.com/dba/miscellaneous/ftp.pks
this works for across the server i.e. transfer the files from one server to other (it is basically ftp) ..
So it is NOT correct that this code transfer the file between two location & with in server.. -
Server Admin not connecting to Leopard Server when accessing via VPN
Hi everyone,
Recently, as the title suggests, Server Admin (or Server Preferences, for that matter) would not connect to my remote server via VPN. I'm quite sure that the server is working nicely, as the users (both of them lovely young ladies with considerable charms, which makes on-site support quite interesting, if distracting) didn't call me to complain, and I can login via SSH with no problems.
The server is a Mac Mini, connected to an Airport Extreme (gigabit N), which in turn connects to our ADSL modem, if that helps any.
Now, I did tinker around a bit with the settings before this happened, so I think it's probably my fault (well, I started my "career" of administering this server a week ago, what do you expect), so I suppose I may have inadvertently limited access to a service required for Server Admin and Server Preferences to function.
If anyone could tell me which services are absolutely necessary for Server Admin to function, or at least where to start looking, I'd be immensely grateful. I didn't yet go on site to try and wrestle the whole thing from there, as the travel costs are non-trivial, so I'd rather do it remotely, if at all possible. This is exactly the difficulty I am having with a 10.5.4 Intel xserve. I have established a VPN connection that connects me to my business LAN, and I know it has carried out the connection because there are a number of things I can access properly that are not available on the public internet. For instance, my LOM ports are restricted to my business LAN, and when I connect to the server via VPN I can access teh LOM ports and using server monitor. However, when I try to use Server Admin, nothing works. It won't connect. I too am confused. All traffic to the xserve is allowed via the business LAN. I thought all traffic was supposed to be routed to the VPN server when connected via a VPN. If this is the case, shouldn't Server Admin work? When I go on site and connect my computer directly to the business LAN, I have no difficulty using Server Admin.

When portal server's mobile access pack is accessed through nokia7110 handset simulator then while checking mails I am able to send mails through reply link in inbox but I am not able to compose mails. It gives 'server error'.Please help me out.
Gurmeet,
A couple of questions :-
a. Is this unique for your Nokia browser ? i.e.
are you able to select "compose" using other
simulators?
b. Does your installation also have iPlanet
Messaging server/iPlanet Calendar Server?
c. Have you configured address book correctly ?
You might be seeing this problem if you have not
configured the address book correctly. -
Is it possible to give a choice to user to connect any one server on a network.
Dear Forum members,
I have three servers windows 2008 r2 in my network but each server has its own set of users. a user member of one server cant' login to other with the same credentials.
Secondly PC at a time is part of one domain. every time I have to change the domain name and then user is able to connect with a particular server.
regards,
AYAZ
Abu DhabiIf you make the 3 servers a member of the domain, they can choose to either log in with a domain user account, or with a local user account. The only thing you need to do is to join the machines to the domain. From then on, both local users and domain users
can log in. -
Sticky serverfarm, all connections on one server
We are using a sticky serverfarm with 2 real servers, one server was down for maintenance for an extended period of time. When it came inservice again it was not getting any connections. is it because all the connections had stuck to the other server ? we want sessions to be sticky but we also want to LB so what is the answer to this?
I got it working by bouncing the server that had been online all the time. things started to LB then.
BTW the ACE 4710 is running 4.2.1That is expected behaviour wih sticky.

How to reduce the number of Remote Gateway connections from one server
Hi ,
We have an XI 3.0 prod system which is being flooded every month end by the invoices generated in our ERP system and occupying all the gateway connections, what I see is that all the remote gateway connections are being established by our ERP server and still there are many requests waiting at the ERP server and failing.
When we ran the same in our test landscape, the invoices are getting transferred to XI with out any problems, the remote gateway connections are free even when the invocie Volumes transferred are the same in Prod and Test servers.
we are not considerint to Increasing the rdisp/max_gateways as the volumes of invocies transferred are really huge and in one of the test, we observed that when 40 invocies are transferred from ERP, it occupied 40 Remote gateway connections in our XI prod
We are looking for the option similar to our test system of transferring many requests from one connection. Is there any such specific option?
Regards,
Santhi Bushan.Dear Santhi,
every gateway establishes only one connection to another gateway. If there are that many gateway/gateway connections, then you are probably connecting from more than one instance. You could circumvent this, if you use gateway options in the RFC destination being used, as this will force all outgoing RFC calls to go through a single gateway. This will then mean that the system has a single point of access.

SUPER SLOW connecting with PC server
I have three G4 Power Macs that are now connecting to a Dell Poweredge 2900 PC server. Trying to open files across the network from this server is EXTREMELY slow. A PC connected to this same configuration opens the files just fine. The files to be opened are Mac originated Quark and Adobe CS2 type files and range from small (200K) to Huge (100M). Even the tiny files take a long time.
What can I do to speed the connection?
What's the best way to have Mac files on a server and also automatically backed up to this PC server's tape drive? The information on the server is (and needs to be) backed up to a tape each night.
We also have noticed that files are duplicating themselves (sometimes) when saved to this server. Any ideas on why that is happening?
Thanks so much for your help!Janet –
Are you on Tiger or an earlier version of OS X? Though most are not thrilled at the prospects of upgrading an OS, Tiger does play much better with Windows and I would recommend that OS as a minimum for connecting to a Windows environment. With that said here are some other things to try –
- Open a ‘Terminal’ session on your Mac and check the response times between your Mac and Server <ping –s 4096 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx> where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the server IP. If your response times are greater than 2 ms then the problem could lie in your physical network. As a check I would run the same from a PC <ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx –l 4096>
- On the file server if enabled I would turn off (temporarily) any A/V and or firewall software you may have installed. (You may want to disconnect Internet access to your network when trying this test).
- Try/what happened when you move files between the Macs?
Also are the Macs in the Domain? Finally – I am not sure that MacDrive will solve your problem. It is primarily designed to allow PC’s to see Mac drives as Windows drives. Though I am not suggesting that it would not work I just think that your problem has more to do with server or network configuration.
One last thing I did a little checking you your Server and noticed that it is a dual NIC system. Are the NICs configured for failover? If so can you disable failover and then disable one of the NICs and see what happens? Also as this is a server I assume that the server has a static address as well? You may also want to assign your Mac static IPs as well – make sure to include both the DNS server as well as the WINS server (if installed) when configuring your IPs on the Macs.
Hope this helps –

Instance "orcl", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
As you can see, I have tried adding an alias for the default domain
name suffix '.qonnectis.com' in the tnsnames.ora files on the solaris
client and on the new 10g server.
Just to add to the fun, the 'new' server running Ora 10g CANNOT connect
to the old server running Ora 9:
sqlplus user/pass@nn_qq3
sqlplus user/pass@nn_qq3.qonnectis.com both fail.
While the old 9.0 server CAN connect to the new 10g one:
sqlplus user/[email protected] succeeds.
Sorry this is such a mess. TBH I find this whole area extremely
confusing.
All suggestions welcome. Unfortunately I am away on holiday next week
but will follow up any leads when I get back.
thanks!

Bridge NOT able to connect to one server and send message
I have configure JMS bridge between MQ queue and a distributed queue ( which is targeting JMS servers in a cluster ).
Bridge is able to connect to all servers and transfer messages, except one.
Messages arriving on the MQ queue are delivered by the JMS bridge to all the JMS servers except one
We turned on debug on MessagingBridge on affected server and got the error msg in the attached log.
Following is the exception strace:

Please helpWhat version of WebLogic and MQ are you using?
Have you ensured that the target Destination and Connection Factory are both WebLogic artifacts (neither should reference an MQ resource)?

Slow connection to OSX Server 10.6
Running 10.6.5 server on 10.6.5 clients.
Anyone notice how slow it can be to connect when using the shortname for the username?
If you connect using the long name it's instant? Any ideas?
This is file sharing using Open Directory.I am also finding authenticating against osx server / directory or workgroup manager very slow. When I login to a Network Account it takes several minutes.

Re:Running out of connection pools one server
Hi,
We are running out of connection pools on one weblogic server only everytime in a 2 node cluster.
But the sessions are very less in the database when we faced the issue.
But this doesn't happen all the time it happens once in a month.
our configuration
<jdbc-connection-pool-params>
<initial-capacity>10</initial-capacity>
<max-capacity>150</max-capacity>
<capacity-increment>5</capacity-increment>
<shrink-frequency-seconds>300</shrink-frequency-seconds>
<connection-creation-retry-frequency-seconds>300</connection-creation-retry-frequency-seconds>

You'd still be renting the line too, which is handy because it means BT still own it.
Well if I have to still pay the line rental, I will take the free number that comes with it.. Thankyou.
