Sluggish music store perfomance

i am having a problem with sluggish store performance. navigating through various parts of the store, the bar on top loads about 95% of the way, then freezes, then resumes minutes later. also, download of songs sometimes takes quite a bit of time even though i am running cable high speed internet and have never had this problem before the last week or so. running the latest version of itunes. any ideas?

the sluggish peformance continues. accessing the music store takes several minutes. i then "surf" though different places in the store and every few clicks the bar on the top loads to about 95%, sits there, and the completes the actio a couple minutes later...very annoying!

I finally decided to redeem my £20 voucher to download some music on my PC then transferred it to my handset. My finding so far is that when I start playing one of the tracks it comes up with "Verifying license informations" every time you play the track/s (thought it supposed to be DRM free).
I also find that when playing the WMA format the handset seems to grind to a halt and takes 30 seconds to come up with the task manager to swap to another application, and then the performance of that app becomes dreadful; for example switching for Gravity twitter client and then kinetic scrolling is more like manual scrolling. However, when playing MP3 the kinetic scrolling is fine, something must be wrong with the WMA codec on the phone.
Anyone else experience the same problems?

There's the reason why I'm so angry. My system indeed didn't have WMP and I don't want to play my music with sluggish Ovi Player, but we are given no choise. I can't take the music to my car either.
I've come to conclusion that I rather download my music illegaly than download these low quality DRM protected music-like files from Nokia. It's not what I paid for. Files should be mine without restrictions after I download them.
Nokia must do the right thing and bring MP3's to Music Store and stop underestimating it's customers.

Hi. I like WMP as I use it to 'find album info' and put album art on albums before drag and drop to phone, gives me correct listings and a good appearance. As for the actual music , just rip or download mp3's onto computer and transfer

ITunes Music Store Slow Down

Since upgrading to the latest version of iTunes and Tiger 10.4.7, whenever I try to access the Music Store I see the progress bar with the "accessing music store" message for several minutes. It does eventually load, but everthing in the store is slow. Podcasts also download painfully slow. And it's not a bandwidth thing, I am on a cable modem and the windows box next to me accesses iTunes just fine. Safari, web downloads, and evrything else on the web still accesses as fast as it used to. Can anyone help? Apple?

I've also found all aspects of the Store extremely sluggish since upgrading to 6. Previews and radio streams constantly getting rebuffered (even with the cache set to "Large"), single track downloads taking 5 minutes or more, and searches taking 30 seconds or longer. It makes browsing & purchasing music on iTunes completely impractical and I've since given up my one track a day purchasing habit, probably for the better.
I've found this sluggishness to exist both on my university's campus (T1 Lines) and my home DSL line.

Extremely slow connection to Music Store and Streams

There have been multiple threads detailing troubles people have been having both with the iTunes Music Store and streaming music via iTunes. Extremely sluggish performance has been reported for weeks now.
Over the past 3 weeks I've found that a search on the Music Store can take 30 seconds or more. Downloading a song can take minutes. Browsing is extremely sluggish. Sampling songs results in repeated rebuffering ("Network Stalled/Rebuffering Stream" messages), even if one sets the Streaming Buffer Size to "Large". I've tried reverting to 6.0.4 and shutting off the Firewall and Personal File Sharing, none of which had any effect.
I experience the same sluggishness both at work, via a high speed office LAN/T3 connection, and at home, via a basic DSL setup. The friends and associates I've surveyed are experiencing the same sluggishness. No proxy servers are used at either location.
I don't know about others, but I've found this sluggishness makes the iTunes Music Store completely unusable. It would be helpful if Apple were to give us some kind of indication as to what's going on if it wishes to retain it's dedicated customer base. If it persists, there are alternatives. Yes it is sluggish at times but far from unusable. Why not select the "Loads ....before playing" option in iTunes prefs>Store to get over the rebuffering problem. I think it is slow due to the popularity and high volumn use that the iTMS gets. Try a different time of day. I use it late at night (USA time) and don't have all the problems that you are experiencing.
Why not contact iTMS customer service directly as Apple does not currently pay much attention to the forums. The reponses here are from fellow forum users and not from Apple employees.
By all means if you are dissatisfied with the iTMS then vote with your pocket book and go else where. Last time I checked it was still a free market place.

I lost all nokia N8 widgets including Music store after I hard reset my N8.
I have really been searching but have been unable to find a work around for this. I am unable to play any OVI music on my phone as it searched for a license and ends up saying that this is not my registered device.
I really need some help.
Nokia care has failed to solve my problewm so far.

Can't see TV shows purchased from Music Store in Full Screen Mode

Prior to the release of iTunes 7.0, I had been purchasing episodes of LOST from the iTunes Music Store and watching the episodes on my Mac in Full Screen viewing mode.
Since downloading iTunes 7.0, I have been unable to watch any television shows purchased from the Music Store from that date forward in Full Screen mode. When I select iTunes>View>Full Screen I can hear the audio, but I cannot see the image. Instead, my monitor goes totally black. If I select iTunes>View>Fit to Screen, I am able to see the video, however, the video does not fill up my screen...instead, I have about two inches of desktop showing on either side of the image. Does anyone know how to solve this problem so that I can once again watch purchased television shows in Full Screen mode?
By the way, I am now running iTunes 7.0.2.

Alan, I just checked and I don't see a section for TV shows in the Canadian store. As the initial deal was made with ABC, I doubt that there is any content available yet for you. I do see the pixar section and the music video section, however.
Similarly, a visit to the Apple Canada site shows no mention of being able to download TV shows.
As with the music, it is going to take a separate lisence to bring TV content to each store. If and when that is going to happen, no one around here would be able to say.

The songs don't show up on music store

when i go to the music store and try to find music it won't show songs in the album. for example if i want good charlotte and it says top downloaded songs i'll click on one of them and it dosn't show anything it's just blank where you would normally see songs its just blank. plz, plz, plz tell me how to fix it!

Itunes 6.0.1 tries to go to music store on startup

How do I keep itunes from trying to go to the music store when I plug my iphone into the computer? There must be settings somewhere but I sure can't fine them.
I only use itunes to load an occasional photo onto my phone. I don't have any interest in the rest of it other than an app or two but I can do those on my phone.

Download Movies from Music Store but will not show up in ITunes Library

I purchased a Movie from the iTunes Music Store. After downloading the movie the movie disappears. It's not in the itunes libaray or anywhere on my hard drive. I looked at my purchases account info for the store and it has a record of my purchase. Is it a itunes bug? ...Apple has no answers. Using iTunes7.

in your source list, below "LIBRARY", do you have a "Movies" category showing up?
if not, try heading into your general preferences and putting a checkmark next to "Movies" in the "Show" area. there's a screenshot of that tab in this document:

Previewing songs in the music store using dial-up connection.

I know, its lame but I live in a very rural area and cannot get high speed out here.
Using dial-up, how do I preview a song before I decide to buy it? I double-click like you're supposed to, but nothing happens.

OVI Music and Nokia Music store login issues

Hi,
Yesterday Nokia rebranded Nokia Music store to OVI Music in India. Earlier I had Nokia Music Store account as OVI login was not supported in Nokia Music store.
So my Nokia Music account and OVI login were different.
Now when login to music.ovi.com and select India as country , I am asked to login.
I can login with my OVI id but then dont see remaining tracks and download history.
I login with my older Nokia Music account and I can see remaining tracks and History.
Some of my friends report that in their case , their Nokia Music and OVI account are merged and tracks and history details are still there.But this has not happened in my case.
Please let me know when Nokia will be able to merge 2 accounts for me. or is there any way I can do it myself? I know that similar thing happened for OVI share and Sports Tracker accounts but they were eventually merged with single OVI account.

"Me too having same issue, i got an email from nokia music that our older usernames have been changed with OVI at the end of old username and password remaining the same. As soon as you receive this email u can see your download history of earlier . and i tried to login by my friends account too by putting OVI at the end of username, the balance of tracks was there but download history is not there. So i think we all have to wait for that email to come from nokia music care to confirm about our account being updated with download history."

Help with purchasing with from another country's Music Store

I'm trying to buy some song from the German iTunes Music Store but iTunes won't let me because my credit card isn't a German credit card. I don't see why this is a problem because the artist and Apple are still going to get money from my purcashe, just from a different country. Any suggestions on the best way to buy a song from the German Music Store?

its the record companies at fault companies like warner and emi in the uk dont want you to buy music from warner in the US or emi in germany as it is lost revenue to that business unit.. record companies are not benevolent suppliers of art they are capitalists and like to accrue money, the whole issue of the music lovers desire for global trading of music has long frustrated them and hence why hefty prices are paid for music imports.. this issue was what frustrated Apple's desire to produce the euro itunes store and the segmenting of the store by country was one of the things it had to do to get the labels to agree to let them have music to sell. The online music sales phenomenon has highlighted the despicable business tactics of the record labels and the EU are i believe investigating them and their shady practises....

ITUNES music store won't open

After doing a clean install on my mac mini, the only problem is with ITunes. The music store won't open, states to make sure my internet connection is open and active, which it is.

The iTunes store seems to be stuggling a bit today under the weight of demand. Uninstalling itunes and installing won't help. Use patience, try later...
