SNMP Get router bandwidth utilisation
I’ve got some problems trying to locate a particular counter using the Mib explorer. My Cisco router is 2801 Software (C2801-IPBASE-M), IOS Version 12.4(1a) I’m trying in vain to locate the input/output rate (in bits/sec) for two of my interfaces. I've tried .iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10) and .iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOutOctets (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16) both provide the total (accumulated) traffic in/out of the interface which is not what I need. Can anyone advise which OID should I use to get the input/output rate (in bits/sec) for the interfaces?
Hi Collin,Thanks for the reply. Noted at there isn't an OID for the info which I need. However,
do you know who MRTG works? They seems to be able to display the
results on the bandwidth utilisation at that point in time.Your advise please.
Hi,
In order to know about MRTG just check out the below link hope it useful information regarding MRTG calcultion of objects.

SCE does not capture traffic snmp get-request
Hi,
We have SCE 2000 3.5.5.
I have a problem to capture some snmp traffic.
From a server To a router, our SCE captures traffic snmp "GET-NEXT-REQUEST". I can see these traffic in RDR (Transaction RDR and Subscriber RDR).
but, From the same server To the same router, "GET-REQUEST" doesn't.
I have checked these packets using sniffer software, and the difference of these is only "GET-NEXT-REQUEST" or "GET-REQUEST".
What could cause this situation??
Help me!Hi, Tom.
I have controlled that the port is 161 and these packets go through the same SCE.
I changed the service configuration as you said, but SCE didn't caputured the packets "snmp-get". I write the way that I have done.
1. Open "New Service Configuration"
2. Add 161 to "UDP ports for which flow should be opened on first packet"
3. "RDR Settings" - "Transaction Usage RDRs" - check "select ALL"
4. Apply a SCE device
5. command "Snmpget" from a pc
6. Control RDRs with tag "4042323000" --> No record from the pc
7. mib-browser from the same pc
8. Control RDRs with tag "4042323000" --> find the record from the pc
I hope i can resolve it soon. -
Hi Guys, Please help. I am trying to run remote desktop from internet. I have just been given a static IP address from my ISP and when I type it into browser I get router login page. I want to be able to use Remote Desktop. I can
use RDP on the LAN and works great but not from external (internet). I don't know how to get static IP address to open windows login page or RDP to connect when I put IP address into RDP.. I have Windows 2003 server running.Check your router for free ports. You may use http port number "80" to port forward the request to your server. In your firewall settings, create a new rule to allow incoming http request. Before that enable NAT in your router for LAN and assign
a static IP address for the server machine. It would make port forwarding easier. -
I have a tableView displaying a list of contacts from a Cloud Database. After selecting a contact, I push to a programmatically created MKMapView. Then I display the initial region (the view) that includes the users current location (starting point) and their selected destination (end point).
Now I want to display annotations (as described in the Location Awareness Programming Guide) that displays polylines which will represent the turn-by-turn navigation IN MY OWN APPLICATION, and not in the Map App currently used in IOS6.
Due to licensing and its becoming depricated in IOS 6, I do not want to get routing data from the Google Maps API. How do I get routing data from the IOS 6 Map App (powered by TomTom) so I can display the point-to-point annotations (turn-by-turn navigation) without leaving my own application?
I checked out Stack Overflow and other forums which basically left me with the impression that this is not possible. I also checked out the TomTom iPhone Mobile SDK User Guide from the TomTom Developer Portal and am still confused. It must be possible to retrieve routes, since the Map App can display turn-by-turn directions. How can I retrieve turn-by-turn data that I may display as a route within my own application? Thanks Michael. Apologies for the slow reply I was away for a bit (holiday blitz at work and visiting family madness etc.etc.) back now, I set both options you requested to "never " and retried the CMS software with no change.
I do have progress of a sort though, as a test I took a separate test PC and put a clean install of Win7 on and loaded up the CMS software (it worked perfectly) and then took the version of ole32.dll off that machine and put it onto the computer I had built
for her (using Linux) and...
got a new error code. Darn I was so sure I had found a clever solution this time lol.
Anyway now when the CMS fails it gives me a similar error but the offending module is "ntdll.dll" sooo... I tried taking the "working" version of ntdll.dll from the test box and moving it over (making sure to back up the existing ones
first so I could put them back if needed) to her new PC and the PC would not boot.
It seems to want the original versions of a few Dynamic Link Libraries and if I could somehow give it those while not breaking Win7 it should theoretically work seeing as it no longer errors with ole32.dll.
ntdll.dll however seems necessary for Win7 to boot.
So what I am wondering now is:
Is there some way to have both versions of the DLL file in the system32 folder (bypassing the "cannot have two files with the exact same name in the same folder" thing) or rename the original DLL's something else and somehow make the CMS look for
the new named versions so the system has the updated DLL's it needs to boot/run and the CMS has the old ones it wants to run or is there someway to have a self contained install of the CMS, say on a USB flash drive and give it it's own E:/windows/system32/needed
dll's path to the files it needs?
Willing to try any other options or settings you may have come up with as well.
Thanks again for your reply and my apologies for not answering sooner. -
Using OIDs for SNMP GET queries
I'm having a tough time using the OIDs from the BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB.asn1 file to perform SNMP GET requests on the console. Regardless of which OID I try, it throws a "NoSuchInstance" and fails to return data. This is Weblogic 6.1 on a Win2K machine.
I enabled the SNMP debugging interface at level 3 -- here is the output of a query:

Suddenly getting "insufficient bandwidth"
I do apologize if this topic has been beaten to death. iChat has been working wonderfully well for me and my friend, for a couple of weeks. Now, with no particular changes on either end, we are getting "insufficient bandwidth to connect".
Any help is very appreciated. Thank you. Darcy

We still have a bunch of ISDN sites that literally charge us by the minute. We have some HP 4100 printers at these sights (we'll call it site A) and there queues are located (across a VLAN) at another site (site b). The problem we are gaving is that about every 30 seconds or so the Site B does a SNMP get-request to check the status of the printer(s). I have gone into the PORT properties on the server even disable SNMP there but it still continues to talk back to Site A. (see below)
I know in the past there was an issue when you did this that would actually put the printer off line
(see : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946198) but that has since be resolved. Any ideas how to keep this from happening all the time. Thanks! This is a consumer forum. You may have better luck in the HP Enterprise Business Community for Printers:

It looks like whenever one specifies Column default values at a library level then the content organizer routing goes a bit awry SPECIFICALLY FOR NON OFFICE FILES [e.g. PDF] . Below are the observations and issues
1. Column level default value set on a record library with auto declaration of records turned on. The content organizer routes the document to the library but also keeps a copy of the document in the drop off library. It does not remove it from the drop
off library. The instant we clear the default value settings at the library level of the target library the content organizer works as expected again.
2. If default value settings are specified on a column in the target library then the PDF file gets routed to the document library but all the metadata is blanked out. The copy of the file that remains in the drop off library has all the correct metadata but
the target library has blanked out metadata.
Are the 2 observations described above by design or are they bugs? If so is there any documentation that is available that proves this because this does not make logical sense and proving this to a client in the absence of any documentation is a challenge.
The problem goes away if we shift the default value to the site columns directly at the site collection level. It's just the library level defaults that the pdf files do not seem to agree withHi Lisa,
Thanks for responding. This can be replicated in any environment but is only replicable for a specific combination of content organizer settings . The combination of settings I am referring to can be seen in the screenshot below. If you turn off redirect
users to the drop off library for direct uploads to libraries and if you turn on sharepoint versioning then you should be able to replicate the issue. Also we are using managed metadata site columns. I simplified this use case to a custom content content type
with just 2 custom managed metadata columns and can still replicate the issue in several environments. Also note the issue does not occur if the default values are set at the site or site collection level. It only occurs if you set the column value default
at a library level. I was able to replicate this on a completely vanilla Enterprise records site collection freshly created just to test this. Also note that the issue is not that the file does not reach the destination library. The issue is the
document does not get removed from the drop off library after it is transfered to the destination library which technically should have gotten removed. -

Getting the bandwidth of the client?
hi
can anybody tell me how can we get the bandwidth of the clients that are connected through java sockets ?
/PushpakNo you can't unless you know that the client has a bandwidth that is lower than yours, and it hasn't any other upload/downloads at the same time.
And you can't always expect the client to have a lower bandwitdth. In sweden many home users have 100Mbit connections.

Hi all,
I use SCOM2012 to monitor 2 applicative servers. The agent is correctly installed because I can see the health of them but the SNMP get request doesn't work for other fonctionnlaities included in the Management Pack.I installed Wireshark on both servers
and I can see fine the SNMP packets, but in the details, the community is empty.
Should I configure the SNMP Service on SCOM server like on the Application servers ?
Thanks for you help.
ChrisChris,
you'd like to SNMP get against a Windows computer?
That is not possible:
Windows computers running SNMP are filtered out of discovery results if:
The device type is “Host” and the vendor is “Microsoft”
The sysDescription field contains “Microsoft”
The sysOid starts with .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1
The sysOid contains 1.3.6.1.4.1.199.1.1.3.11

QOs detoriation with increase in bandwidth utilisation
we are the MPLS service provider providing MPLS services in India.we notice that Voice quality detoriates as soon as the bandwdith utilisation of the customer links increase more than 60% of link bandwdith particularly with FTP. we have implemented QOS properly. i am told that qos is ineffective if bandwdith utilisation increases more than 60% of link bandwdith. customer should be adviced to increase the bandwdith. Is it true? please help
Hi
AFAIK if u configure strict priority to your voice traffic (i.e.,LLQ for your voice)it shuldnt affect your voice traffic at all regardless to your bandwidth utilsation since it reserves a particular amount of B/W for your voip traffic which again can be configured manually.
The same you can do under your policy map configurations, hope you are having LLQ in place for your voice otherwise would suggest to look onto that and try out the same.
And when theres no congestion thts your h/w queue is ample enough to serve your traffic the software queues will be bypassed (which are manually configured) and if theres some congestion then your S/W queues kicksin.
so in a ideal customer network with voip and other traffic i would go with llq for voip and cbwfq for other traffic based on the traffic patterns using the DSCP,IP Prec values..
to be more precise you can go for LFI also to slice your packets so that your voip packets dont get backlogged..

Can't get router to connect to internet - printer
This is not strictly an airport extreme question but I've got a major problem with my mac intranet set-up and hopefully someone can assist:
Until 6pm here in Belgium today my Cable internet system was working fine (the past 2 years!).
Suddenly no internet via my DI-604 router:
System setup: Cable to cable modem, to DI604 router - splits to DI-635 modem /wireless on one side; and other side to asante switch - which has Laserwriter printer, Canon iP4000R printer and other connections for other computers to plug-into the internet.
Suddenly the DI-604 won't work - even when I try to go directly (internet modem to DI604 to MacBook) via http://192.168.0.1 -- and reset it-- nope, won't work.
I do have internet if I just plug the Cable Modem directly to the MacBook
I also have internet if I plug the modem directly to the Asanté switch and then to the MacBook - I can print to the LaserWriter printer with this setup; but not to the Canon; and cannot plug-in the DI635 modem (to the Asanté) and get it to work...
Big mess and really not a clue why this stopped working and why I can't go back to where I've beenfor the past 18 months... Leaving on vacation in 72 hours and would like to have this back to normal before leaving because to have this mess upon my return is a nightmare...
Can I replace the DI604 with an Apple Extreme or Apple ??? modem? I'd still like to have the WiFi via the DI604 which has worked so well the past 18 months-- WHAT IS GOING ON??
Thanks for any comments, suggestions links or whatever.
Steve
Wednesday 15 July 2009Can I replace the DI604 with an Apple Extreme or Apple ??? modem?
Yes, you could replace the DLink DI-604 with the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn).
In turn, you can still connect the Asante switch & DI-635 wireless router to the available LAN ports on the AEBSn.
